[00:00:00] A game show, a technological misshop, a hobby and a nifty online tool converged to bring you today's episode.
[00:00:09] Toon-in!
[00:00:10] Hello and welcome to MoMo634 The Daily Podcast Chalk Full of Faithful Inspiration and Motivation.
[00:00:21] MoMo634 Motivational Moments, just for today.
[00:00:27] Before we begin today's episode, I'd like to ask a personal favor.
[00:00:49] If you like this podcast, if you have benefited in any way, would you please share, email or repost this episode?
[00:00:58] Thank you.
[00:00:59] I grew up with my mom and my great aunt.
[00:01:03] My aunt loved game shows and I would often hear her yell out,
[00:01:07] No whammys!
[00:01:09] During the show, press your luck.
[00:01:12] Our title today comes from another favorite of hers, the iconic opening of a game show that is endured for decades
[00:01:20] where the audience shouts,
[00:01:22] Weel!
[00:01:23] Oh, fortune!
[00:01:26] I'm also admitted that I am an avid nitter.
[00:01:31] In fact, I managed to high-end yarn shop and coordinated their education classes
[00:01:36] and was the inaugural president of our local knitting guild.
[00:01:40] One of the crafters most valuable tools is the color wheel.
[00:01:44] This helps you plot your color schemes for your projects.
[00:01:48] I've always been a bit dubious because the colors that are supposed to be complementary
[00:01:54] often appear clashing to me, but still it's a helpful tool.
[00:01:59] It takes the main primary colors and separates them out into gradations,
[00:02:05] representing the full spectrum of use, or close to it.
[00:02:10] Today, after a very frustrating day filled with technological misapps,
[00:02:16] I just had to shut everything down for a bit.
[00:02:19] And though I'm sure I had a cartoony gray cloud over my head for the duration of my forced break,
[00:02:26] I did eventually get the task finished.
[00:02:30] I've mentioned my struggles with low-festration tolerance,
[00:02:34] or more aptly, no frustration tolerance.
[00:02:38] So in reading about the topic, I came across a beautiful tool called an Emotion Wheel.
[00:02:45] It's exactly what you might think.
[00:02:48] It's almost identical to a color wheel,
[00:02:51] except with a few main emotions, like happiness, anger, fear, etc.
[00:02:58] Then these are broken down into subcategories with feelings like isolation, loneliness, hurt, brave, or motivated.
[00:03:07] It's a brilliant tool for isolating the trigger and naming it, providing a very visual representation,
[00:03:15] and I'm a visual learner.
[00:03:17] I'll link various examples so you get the idea.
[00:03:22] I've mentioned before the Bible class my husband taught,
[00:03:25] wherein we just read the first verse of the first 20 or so songs.
[00:03:30] So many varying emotions.
[00:03:34] As we've discussed in a number of episodes here, emotions are healthy.
[00:03:39] God created them to help us express and process life.
[00:03:44] But those emotions can't rip us up if we allow them to build up unexpressed
[00:03:50] or if we express them incorrectly, like scripture talks about when it says,
[00:03:55] not letting our anger cross over into sin.
[00:03:58] So the next time life hands you a time out,
[00:04:02] check the Emotion Wheel and come back refreshed
[00:04:05] and better able to address the setback.
[00:04:08] Our meme for today says,
[00:04:11] as long as we have breath in our bodies,
[00:04:13] we can always hit the reset button.
[00:04:17] Try it today and be sure to let me know what you thought of it in the comments below.
[00:04:22] Thanks for listening to Momo 634.
