[00:00:00] An old game show with a new reboot, an internet meme and an epiphany provide fodder

[00:00:09] for a valuable lesson about prayers and providence.

[00:00:13] Stay tuned!

[00:00:15] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration

[00:00:26] and motivation.

[00:00:28] MoMo634 Motivational Moments just for today!

[00:00:50] It's a big ol' birthday barreling down the line this week.

[00:00:54] I'm gonna date myself yet again and tell you that as a kid, I watched the original Let's

[00:01:02] Make A Deal with Monte Hall.

[00:01:05] Sometimes the mysteriously shrouded prizes were glamourous vacations to exotic locales

[00:01:12] or brand new contemporary furniture set for a whole room of the house.

[00:01:18] But sometimes the prize was a resty ol' clunker of a car.

[00:01:24] I was reminded of the show because of an interesting meme I came across today.

[00:01:30] I've been wrestling with something my head and my heart both know well but are just being

[00:01:36] stubborn about accepting.

[00:01:39] The meme pictured a door shown from the outside of a brick building.

[00:01:45] The caption in essence said, not every door is meant to be walked through.

[00:01:51] Yeah, the door was located on the second floor with nothing underneath to protect from

[00:01:59] the sheer drop onto the concrete.

[00:02:03] From the inside I'm sure it looked like an ordinary door and like many of us would do

[00:02:10] I'm sure someone pushed and pulled on it, frustrated that it refused to budge.

[00:02:18] God's providence protects us from many things that are detrimental to our physical, mental

[00:02:25] and spiritual health.

[00:02:28] It bothers me when I hear people say God didn't answer their prayers.

[00:02:33] If we are in the right relationship with Him, not asking selfishly and the request is

[00:02:39] in alignment with His will in the matter, He does answer.

[00:02:44] Now is that answer always yes?

[00:02:46] Of course not.

[00:02:48] Just like any earthly parent, sometimes the answer is no or not right now.

[00:02:56] Consider the blessings of the latter two responses.

[00:03:00] They just might be why that second floor door isn't opening for you.

[00:03:07] An old saying people use sometimes is when God shuts one door, He opens another.

[00:03:13] I'm not sure it's an exact like for like tally in that way.

[00:03:20] Like the door in the meme.

[00:03:24] Because we serve a good God, we can trust He has our best interests at heart.

[00:03:31] We don't have to worry that there's a clunker behind the curtain if we're listening

[00:03:36] to His will and obeying it, and are truly content for His timing in the matter.

[00:03:44] Matthew 7 9-11 says this,

[00:03:48] Which of you if His Son asks for bread will give Him a stone?

[00:03:53] Or if He asks for a fish will give Him a snake?

[00:03:57] So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will

[00:04:04] your father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?

[00:04:10] Our meme for today says,

[00:04:12] Embrace the gift of a shut door.
