[00:00:42] If you've been on social media the last couple of days, you know that emotions are high and all over the map.
[00:00:51] Whether you hopped on to celebrate or commiserate, my message to you is the same. Roll up your sleeves.
[00:01:02] You worked hard, whether your person won or lost. You talked your candidate up,
[00:01:08] encouraged people to vote for him or her, gave rides to people so they could exercise their civic duty.
[00:01:18] But as we posited in the episode, The Real MVP, were you this passionate about talking Jesus up?
[00:01:27] Telling people about what he would do for them through his redemptive work on the cross?
[00:01:33] Are you giving rides so people can get to church to learn more about him or worship him?
[00:01:41] In the episode, Prepare for Takeoff, we said this earthly stuff only happens every so often.
[00:01:49] But there is a day coming with certainty, and that is the day we need to roll up our sleeves and work toward now.
[00:01:59] On that day, there won't be candidates that win or lose.
[00:02:04] That's already happened.
[00:02:06] God has won the victory over sin and death, according to 1 Corinthians 15.
[00:02:13] And his followers are called the elect.
[00:02:17] And Satan? Well, he's the sore loser condemned to a lake of fire and wants you to join him.
[00:02:24] Read Revelation chapters 19 through 22 for a description so vivid,
[00:02:30] you know it's not the campaign you want to be working for.
[00:02:34] Heaven is also described in figurative language, depicting a place so peaceful and so beautiful.
[00:02:42] Our finite minds need verbal pictures to even begin to imagine it,
[00:02:48] and even then cannot do it justice.
[00:02:52] Which camp do you want to be in?
[00:02:55] Our meme for today invokes part of 2 Peter 1.10.
[00:03:01] Elections are important, but it's the one that says,
[00:03:05] Make your calling and election sure.
[00:03:10] What do you want your eternal reward to be?
[00:03:14] Isn't it worth the effort and more that you put into worldly endeavors?
