[00:00:00] Today is World Mental Health Day. This episode is devoted to the journey toward mental wellness

[00:00:06] and ending the stigma. Tune in. Hello, and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock-full

[00:00:18] of faith-filled inspiration and motivation. Please like, share, and subscribe. MoMo634,

[00:00:26] Motivational Moments, just for today. Today is World Mental Health Day. Welcome to new

[00:00:48] listeners who are checking out the podcast as a result of social media posts related to

[00:00:54] the World Mental Health Day hashtag. This podcast aims to address the intersection of faith, motivation,

[00:01:01] positivity, self-care, and mental wellness. As someone who has struggled with undiagnosed

[00:01:08] OCD well over half my life, as well as dealing with depression and high giftedness, a neurodiversity

[00:01:17] in itself, I have personal experience with this topic and have been speaking up and speaking

[00:01:24] out to educate and end the stigma for well over two decades. So again, my welcome to you if you are

[00:01:32] just checking out the podcast for the first time. The episodes tend to be short bursts to get our day

[00:01:39] started or ended on the right note with a blend of scripture, humor, and empathy. How did I celebrate

[00:01:48] World Mental Health Day? Well, I enforced a few boundaries, as has been the discussion over a number of episodes

[00:01:56] on boundaries and filters. That helped me find the time to update a few of the items on the World Mental Health

[00:02:03] Day resource list pinned at the top of the site at Substack and emailed to subscribers. Further updates are planned

[00:02:12] as we head into International OCD Week next week, so check back frequently. This is something I intend to

[00:02:18] keep as an ongoing update. I also caught up on some rest. The OCD went on a bit of a rager the other night

[00:02:27] when my computer decided I wasn't doing anything important and automatically updated after crashing

[00:02:34] and logging me out of every site and email account. Oh yeah, newbies, did I mention the low frustration

[00:02:41] tolerance? After being up even later than my usual 2am, I was really tired, so I walked the talk and put in a

[00:02:52] little time for self-care today. After work, I knitted, as discussed recently in the Importance of

[00:02:58] Hobbies episode, and then took a tiny nap. As I age and feel the changes physically, emotionally, psychologically,

[00:03:08] and spiritually, I try to live out those challenges and blessings here with you as authentically as I can.

[00:03:17] And there really are blessings also. In our last episode on preparedness, I mentioned a few.

[00:03:25] In discussing the episode with my husband, he mentioned that sometimes he drops some breadcrumbs for me

[00:03:32] because he knows the OCD will cause me to persist once I'm on the trail of something. He said he knows

[00:03:40] that I'm tenacious and that it has been a blessing to our family in a number of ways, as I shared in that

[00:03:46] episode. He came up with a number of additional examples. My oldest, also mentioned in that episode,

[00:03:54] overheard part of our conversation and said in earnest, I can't count how many times you've saved my life.

[00:04:01] That touched me because I know it can be challenging to live with someone neurodiverse or who struggles with mood disorders.

[00:04:11] In fact, there are some tips for families and friends on the resource post I mentioned.

[00:04:18] Our meme for today says, attaining and maintaining mental wellness can be a challenge.

[00:04:25] However, on the path, you meet amazing people. Learn new things about yourself and our amazing God.

[00:04:35] If you are new, stick around. And if you feel comfortable doing so, introduce yourself in the comments.

[00:04:42] If you've been here a while, welcome the new folks and tell us a bit about how you celebrated World Mental Health Day.
