[00:00:51] the Burr Months, BER, September also heralds in fantasy football, American football for

[00:01:00] listeners not in the US.

[00:01:03] If you know anything about me by now, you know these episodes are ripped from the headlines

[00:01:09] of my life and this one is no different.

[00:01:13] Recently we held our league's fantasy football draft.

[00:01:17] The league I play in now, and when a championship in, thank you very much, is very different

[00:01:24] from the league I was in before where I even got to be commish for a couple of years.

[00:01:30] It has a very different setup in many respects.

[00:01:33] More teams, no QB at flex, much to my chagrin.

[00:01:38] Keepers, and there is even an auction where you bid fake money to claim certain players

[00:01:44] off of the waiver wires.

[00:01:47] At its core, fantasy football is about assembling your dream team of players.

[00:01:53] You can choose any player from any team in certain positions and assemble the best

[00:01:59] available at the time of your pick.

[00:02:02] The really good players are ranked overall and by position and are all picked pretty

[00:02:07] quickly.

[00:02:09] The higher the ranking, the more they might cost at auction should they be on waivers

[00:02:14] say due to an injury, contract dispute or suspension.

[00:02:20] Hebrews chapter 11 is often called the hall of faith with a dream team of who's

[00:02:26] who in the Bible, if you will.

[00:02:29] These are ordinary people with extraordinary faith.

[00:02:33] Sometimes online you might see a meme or grouping of tables or a chart asking

[00:02:39] whose table or whose house you'd want to visit.

[00:02:43] Would you want to chat with Mary about all the things she kept in her heart

[00:02:48] about Jesus?

[00:02:49] Or find out from Paul what a worship assembly in the first century was like.

[00:02:55] Or maybe it's Peter with his talk first think later vibe that so many of us

[00:03:01] can relate to.

[00:03:03] And as to that fantasy football auction, in Christ we are all super expensive.

[00:03:12] We were redeemed off of Satan's waiver wire with the blood of Christ,

[00:03:17] the most expensive substance there is.

[00:03:20] And unlike fantasy football fake money bids, this substance was all too real.

[00:03:29] First Peter 1 18 and 19 says, for you know that it was not with perishable

[00:03:34] things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of

[00:03:39] life you inherited from your forefathers but with the precious blood of Christ,

[00:03:46] a lamb without blemish or spot.

[00:03:49] Our meme for today says, your worth in Christ cannot be calculated.

[00:03:55] It is as priceless as the blood Christ paid to redeem you.
