[00:00:00] A mental health win and a loss, all in the span of a few days.

[00:00:07] Tune in for more.

[00:00:12] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.

[00:00:21] Please like, share and subscribe.

[00:00:26] MoMo634 Motivational Moments, just for today.

[00:00:44] If you heard the iconic opening notes of the song by David Bowie and Queen in your head

[00:00:50] as you looked at the episode title, I've done my job.

[00:00:55] This past weekend was an OCD nightmare, something I'll have to unpack in another episode as

[00:01:03] it's still too close to process yet.

[00:01:05] But my brain is choosing to really hold on to some parts and stay rigid and dug in.

[00:01:14] So I'll report on a small victory instead.

[00:01:19] My Mo is to always work under pressure, which is the absolute worst place because of the

[00:01:27] anxiety inherent in OCD.

[00:01:30] In addition, as I've mentioned previously in a number of episodes on calendaring and time

[00:01:37] management, I'm constantly anxious that I will forget something if I don't do it right now.

[00:01:45] This has led me to being perceived as efficient because I do things quickly rather than what

[00:01:51] it really is paranoia that I'll lose track or forget.

[00:01:57] So today, when a request came through while I was eating lunch, I let it sit and continued

[00:02:05] on with eating.

[00:02:07] For me, this is huge.

[00:02:12] I asked myself how urgent the request was, it wasn't urgent at all, and if it could

[00:02:18] wait a few minutes, it could and did.

[00:02:22] I didn't forget and the task was completed and still in very good time.

[00:02:30] In fact, unintentionally, I did what is the gold standard for OCD treatment, exposure

[00:02:38] and response prevention.

[00:02:41] I've done a few episodes on various scenarios where flipping the script is helpful with

[00:02:47] stinking thinking and persistent ants, automatic negative thoughts or intrusive behaviors.

[00:02:55] So be sure to search for the tag ants in the archives.

[00:03:00] Because of the OCD drama of the weekend and today's lesson in slowing myself down, I

[00:03:08] am renewing a goal I've set for myself contained in 2nd Corinthians 10.5.

[00:03:15] We tear down arguments and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God, and we

[00:03:22] take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

[00:03:29] Our meme for today says, Know the difference between hurry and haste.

[00:03:37] Is there a script you're working on flipping?

[00:03:40] Put it in the comments so we can support each other.

[00:03:46] Thanks for listening to Momo 634, motivational moments just for today.
