[00:00:00] Have you ever wondered what the most common detriment to mental health and wellness is?
[00:00:05] Tune in to find out!
[00:00:10] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration and
[00:00:17] motivation.
[00:00:18] Please like, share, and subscribe.
[00:00:23] MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today.
[00:00:40] Just over 300 million people worldwide suffer from some form of anxiety.
[00:00:49] Here are my top 5 tips to help combat this wellness thief.
[00:00:55] 1.
[00:00:57] Belly breathing or diaphragmatic breathing.
[00:01:01] It helps to reduce anxiety.
[00:01:04] 2.
[00:01:06] Grounding is another technique that helps keep you tethered to the here and now, rather
[00:01:12] than in your head worrying about what could happen, rather than what is actually happening
[00:01:19] right now in the world around you.
[00:01:22] 3.
[00:01:24] Fish oil is a great supplement with a number of benefits for brain health, mood, and cognition.
[00:01:31] There are other health benefits too.
[00:01:35] As with anything, check with your medical care professional before taking any supplement.
[00:01:41] 4.
[00:01:43] Limit news and social media as in the episodes, all the news that's fit to print, and when it's
[00:01:51] okay not to be okay.
[00:01:54] 5.
[00:01:55] Sometimes, constant non-stop news about terrible things going on in the world has an adverse
[00:02:02] effect on our mental health.
[00:02:05] There's a reason endless attention to our smart devices for news is called doom scrolling.
[00:02:12] 5.
[00:02:14] Diffusing.
[00:02:15] Diffusing.
[00:02:16] I've discussed diffusing quite a bit lately, as it tends to be my go-to.
[00:02:21] One of the reasons is that essential oils with linalool crosses the central nervous system
[00:02:27] rapidly, providing needed emotional support.
[00:02:32] I'm linking to some past episodes that discuss each of these in more detail with instructions
[00:02:39] and resources.
[00:02:42] Of course, I firmly believe in the power of prayer.
[00:02:47] As I mentioned in the episode, what not to say to someone struggling with depression,
[00:02:52] it's not a, well, if you just prayed more thing that so many of us hear.
[00:02:58] It's not a personal weakness or failure.
[00:03:01] Just like Alzheimer's or cancer isn't an indictment on one's prayer life.
[00:03:07] However, communicating with the Father, seeking that inner joy and peace that comes from the
[00:03:16] knowledge that if you are His child, you are saved and have an eternal reward waiting for you
[00:03:23] where there will be no anxiety or depression.
[00:03:27] Those are priceless intangibles that we can focus on during times of great difficulty and stress.
[00:03:37] Our meme for today says, focus on what is, not what could be.
[00:03:45] Stay grounded and present, my friends.
[00:03:49] If you are one of the millions of sufferers from anxiety worldwide, or have a loved one who does,
[00:03:57] please chime in below.
[00:03:59] Let's support each other.
