[00:00:00] In this episode, I share a glimpse into my personal inspirational playlist in my mental
[00:00:05] health toolkit. Tune in! Hello and welcome to MoMo 634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled
[00:00:16] inspiration and motivation. Please like, share, and subscribe. MoMo 634, Motivational Moments
[00:00:25] just for today. It's OCD Awareness Week, and if you read my post yesterday, it's been a challenging time
[00:00:49] for me personally. So yes, yesterday I spent a lot of time listening to music surrounded by the
[00:00:56] calming scent of lavender and bergamot and listening to my 70s boy band music. For the backstory,
[00:01:03] listen to the episode, My Origin Story. That's the soundtrack of my early childhood during the
[00:01:11] intense bullying that accompanied being the odd girl. During a period of time, every kid just wants to fit
[00:01:18] in. Thus, on the worst days, if I'm listening to it, it's muscle memory. It's what I consider that God
[00:01:27] used to reach my broken brain when I was a broken girl who did not yet know Him. But today is a new day.
[00:01:36] Today, I've listened to messages infused with hope, love, encouragement, and nudges to get back up on my
[00:01:44] horse and carry on. Here's part of my playlist named Inspirational as they contain spiritual messages
[00:01:52] from a Christian worldview. I also have a praise mix of acapella worship hymns that I also love,
[00:01:59] usually used to prepare my head and heart for worship, as discussed in the bonus episode for
[00:02:04] premium subscribers called Are You a Prepper? But that may need to be a separate episode or 10,
[00:02:11] as there are a lot of hymns. Here's a partial listing of songs on my Inspirational playlist,
[00:02:18] annotated for you. The full list is embedded below. Good Morning by Mandisa. The lyrics say,
[00:02:28] Wave away my yesterday, cause I'm leaving it behind me. Hello sunshine, come what may,
[00:02:34] I feel something new inside me. As discussed in a number of episodes, and really the foundational
[00:02:42] principle behind the 634 in our podcast name from the book of Matthew, it's just about getting through
[00:02:50] today. I'm trying not to drag the baggage of yesterday forward. Beautiful by Mercy Me. The
[00:02:59] lyrics say, cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight for all the lies you've held in so long,
[00:03:06] and they're nothing in the shadow of the cross. You're beautiful. I tend to default to that little
[00:03:15] hurt girl inside of me, playing all those insults on loop. It's not healthy, and, as in the episode
[00:03:23] Satan's Mixtape of Lies, he's full of nothing but distortions. Only Hope, both versions by Mandy Moore
[00:03:32] and Switchfoot. Even though it's a love song from the movie A Walk to Remember, the lyrics could easily
[00:03:39] apply to our relationship with God. I did a whole episode called Really Real about the song What If
[00:03:47] We Were Real. It's about the masks we wear in trying to appear that we have it all together,
[00:03:54] and the emotional toll of hiding behind the mask. One of my very favorite songs on this inspirational
[00:04:01] playlist is We Win by Mercy Me. The lyrics say, this goes out to anyone down for the count. It's not
[00:04:11] over. Don't give up. Don't throw in the towel. Just remember who you belong to. Let me remind you how
[00:04:19] this ends. We win. Satan may win a few skirmishes here and there, but we should never lose sight of the
[00:04:29] fact that God will win in the end. When King Saul dealt with his mental health demons, David played
[00:04:38] music, and that's still a great mood booster. For more on this topic, check out the episodes
[00:04:45] Soothing the Savage Beast and In Him. H-Y-M-N.
[00:04:51] To fulfill Jesus' command to love our neighbors as ourselves,
[00:04:56] it follows that we must love ourselves to some degree. This is one of the areas I really struggle
[00:05:03] with the most, so I'm trying to authentically live out loud here. I hope it's been helpful to hear
[00:05:09] about some of the music in my own toolkit. I'd love to hear about some of yours. Chime in under the
[00:05:16] comments. Maybe I'll find some new songs to add to the list. I'm deviating from our usual format this
[00:05:23] week to address life with OCD. To that end, it's an AMA Ask Me Anything week. I'll do my best to answer
[00:05:32] from experience or point you to a vetted source. In honor of OCD awareness this week, all premium plans
[00:05:40] are 25% off for the life of the subscription. For less than one fancy coffee, you can get the whole
