[00:00:27] There's a phrase in the Bible that I find to be so comforting. The Rock that is higher than I. Listen to the passage in context, in Psalm 61-1-34. Here my cry, oh God, attend to my prayer.

[00:01:03] From the ends of the earth, I call out to you whenever my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy.

[00:01:18] Let me dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Say, la. Though the Bible doesn't capitalize the R in Rock, so many other passages describe God in such a way. His strength, his substance, his vantage point. All qualities we praise him for.

[00:01:44] Even this passage talks about being a refuge and a place we can seek out for safety and strength. If I could recount the whole of my life to you, I don't think I could adequately describe the times God has been that rock.

[00:02:03] I couldn't count the times I have needed and received that refuge. The number of prayers answered far exceeding what I was able to ask, think, imagine or articulate, in calculable. And yet those wings, that soft place to land that I've needed time and time again,

[00:02:30] a place to regroup and lick my wounds. For these and so many reasons, I love this picture our father paints of himself. Our meme for today says, God meets every need of the human heart, for he designed it. Thanks for listening to Momo 634.
