[00:00:00] Human history shows a definite pattern of behavior.

[00:00:04] Thankfully, we also have a written history of the one who can address it.

[00:00:10] Stay tuned!

[00:00:11] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.

[00:00:23] MoMo634 Motivational Moments just for today.

[00:00:46] Yesterday's episode posed the question, if you could meet someone in the Bible, who would

[00:00:52] it be and why?

[00:00:54] I think, rightly so.

[00:00:56] We are fascinated by how people before us lived lives of incredible faith despite the difficulties

[00:01:03] they faced, including being flawed human beings.

[00:01:09] I've mentioned in recent episodes that we're studying Nehemiah in our midweek Bible study.

[00:01:15] We just concluded chapter 9.

[00:01:18] It's one of a number of places chronicled where we find the human cycle of mess up, cry

[00:01:25] out, God rescuing, rebelling, lather, rinse, repeat.

[00:01:32] It's also amazing to witness the mercy, long suffering and patience of God, how despite

[00:01:40] the number of times we refuse His wise counsel, often outright rebelling, He still loves us

[00:01:49] and works things out for our good as Romans 828 tells us.

[00:01:56] Sometimes it's just a gradual step away at a time until we're that lost sheep in Luke

[00:02:02] 15 floundering and in need of a loving shepherd to rescue us.

[00:02:10] Terms were the prodigal, openly rebelling and desiring life on our terms.

[00:02:16] Yet seeing that father day by day never giving up active hope that his beloved child would

[00:02:26] return eagerly watching for him to welcome him home openly is also part of that narrative.

[00:02:38] Terms were like his older brother, the one who never left, who also received a share of

[00:02:44] the inheritance yet was bitter when his sibling returned.

[00:02:49] To my shame I have always related more to him than his younger brother though I have

[00:02:56] certainly played both parts in the drama of my life.

[00:03:01] Romans 15 4 says all of these things were written for our learning.

[00:03:07] We can certainly learn a number of things.

[00:03:11] There is that human cycle and none of us are immune to messing up or open defiance.

[00:03:20] As Solomon wisely points out, there really isn't anything new under the sun.

[00:03:26] Sin generally falls into one of the deadly three.

[00:03:30] Desires of the flesh, desires of the eye and the pride of life.

[00:03:37] God's grace and mercy are always available to his children.

[00:03:43] Wake up, make up, we can always repent and return.

[00:03:50] God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

[00:03:54] Of course he disciplines those he loves but we focus on the discipline far more than

[00:04:00] we do the long-suffering love.

[00:04:04] The love that undergirds everything he is, infused into everything he does and the

[00:04:11] love that will continue for all eternity with those who will live with him in heaven.

[00:04:19] Our meme for today says, man hasn't changed much but has the capacity to do so.

[00:04:27] God has not changed and we can take comfort in the fact that he never will.

[00:04:36] Thanks for listening to Momo634 motivational moments just for today.
