[00:00:00] As Social Creatures, we don't like being alone. However, rather than viewing solitary time as a punishment, tune in to explore some benefits. Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the Daily Podcast Chalk Full of Faithful, Inspiration and Motivation. MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today. We are social creatures.

[00:00:47] However, a study of the life of Jesus shows us that he often spent solitary time in prayer. In fact, he often woke up early just to do so. In our Western Society, we pack activities into every second of every day.

[00:01:05] We wake up and rush out to work or school, sometimes after a trip to the gym. We spend all day at work in back-to-back meetings, classes or activities. After work, if we didn't hit the gym in the morning, we may go out then,

[00:01:20] or go out with coworkers for a bite to eat. Our kids have after school extracurriculars like sports or clubs. Then home, only to rush around, preparing to do it all again the next day. Then we wonder why our kids whine that they're bored on weekends or vacations.

[00:01:41] We need to teach them and ourselves the joys in solitary pursuits, like reading, quiet time and downtime. Though my body has trouble shutting down at night, my ears are not consigned to the same fate. They're done by 830 at night. I just crave quiet.

[00:02:06] We need to spend quiet time alone for the three peas, to process, plan and pray. Processing the day's events are crucial to helping us let go of the negatives and embrace the positives of the day we just had.

[00:02:24] In the episode Dream A Little Dream, we talk about our subconscious and its role in this endeavor. Planning for the coming day is helpful. Even though we talk a lot about today being all that is promised, should tomorrow be granted to us,

[00:02:41] we can use the time more efficiently rather than scrambling for clothes and needed items on the way out of the door. Of course, praying is the not-so-secret sauce that holds everything together. We started out by saying that Jesus had a habit of waking early to pray alone.

[00:03:01] Bring your concerns of the day to him. Thank him for prayers answered. Pray for loved ones. Pray for your coming day. Pray for patience and peace. I tend to pray throughout my day, little bursts as I think of things or as things come up.

[00:03:22] I do have more structured prayers upon waking and going to bed. Use this time alone with God to communicate, commune, and commit our fears and anxieties and our days into his capable hands. Our meme for today consolidates these points.

[00:03:44] It says, use solitary time to process, plan and pray. Use prayer time to communicate, commune and commit. What are your barriers to spending more time alone? chime in in the comments below. Thanks for listening to Momo 634 motivational moments just for today.
