[00:00:27] The Bad OCD Week continues,

[00:00:46] So I haven't really unpacked all of what derailed me over the weekend.

[00:00:52] I suspect it's a lot of stress combined with a lack of sleep.

[00:00:58] However, I'm 17% into book 227 for the year

[00:01:04] and am convinced that one of the main protagonists has OCD.

[00:01:10] In fact, I suspected it even earlier in the book,

[00:01:15] but I'm fairly certain now.

[00:01:18] Part of what set me off over the weekend had to do with the stigma inherent

[00:01:23] in being neurodiverse or having a mental health condition.

[00:01:28] The stereotypes really bothered me.

[00:01:32] When a couple of interactions fraught with fallacies and misinformation

[00:01:36] and these stereotypes came my way.

[00:01:40] It really set me on edge.

[00:01:44] Maybe it's because I'm afraid that's what people reduce me to.

[00:01:49] A joke and a stereotype.

[00:01:51] I know that's not true, it's an ant, automatic negative thought.

[00:01:57] We're the of swatting away.

[00:02:00] But the people pleaser in me and the bullied kid from the episode

[00:02:04] my origin story is desperate to be liked.

[00:02:10] In reading this book, and granted at only 17% a lot can still go sideways.

[00:02:18] I really like this character a lot.

[00:02:22] I don't pity him nor is he drawn as a caricature.

[00:02:27] Yet I see the OCD traits quite clearly.

[00:02:30] It's not touted as an OCD story.

[00:02:34] I recognize it in him.

[00:02:38] So it's giving me something to munch on.

[00:02:41] Perhaps I'm not the sum of all my compulsions.

[00:02:45] I still see me as so starkly different and odd that I struggle with the self-esteem.

[00:02:54] But in reading more about this fictional character,

[00:02:57] I also see his good characteristics.

[00:03:02] So yes, we live in a fallen world which means imperfection, disease and the like do exist.

[00:03:10] Yet God did make us in His image.

[00:03:14] And one day we'll transport his children to a place where those things no longer exist.

[00:03:23] So 13914 says,

[00:03:26] I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

[00:03:30] Marvelous are your works and I know this very well.

[00:03:37] And Revelation 214 says,

[00:03:40] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes

[00:03:43] and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain

[00:03:49] for the former things have passed away.

[00:03:54] Our meme for today says,
