[00:00:00] We use a humorous meme to discuss a very serious subject.
[00:00:06] Tune in for more.
[00:00:11] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the Daily Podcast Chompful of Faithfield Inspiration
[00:00:18] and Motivation. Please Like, Share and Subscribe.
[00:00:23] MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today.
[00:00:43] If you've listened to the podcast for any length of time,
[00:00:46] you know my meme and gift game is strong.
[00:00:51] Except for the time I sent my very famous boss,
[00:00:55] 719 Pumpkin Spice Gifts, thinking I was texting my daughter.
[00:01:01] But, be that as it may. I love finding the right thing.
[00:01:06] The funny thing, to represent my current mood or as a response to someone's text.
[00:01:14] I came across a short of a little girl, maybe 7 or 8 on a ride of some sort
[00:01:21] with her mom off camera asking if she's okay.
[00:01:26] As they get to the zenith of this ride, the kid screams over and over,
[00:01:32] I'm not okay! I want to get off! I'm not okay!
[00:01:37] I think we all feel that way sometimes, and hopefully we have someone we can confide in
[00:01:45] that won't film us in the moment and share it virally.
[00:01:50] The video seemed to have an augmented background, so I think it's just a family being funny.
[00:01:56] But it's a humorous way to introduce a serious topic.
[00:02:01] Sometimes we aren't okay.
[00:02:04] It's okay to feel that way. It's okay to say it aloud.
[00:02:10] It's okay not to talk about it.
[00:02:14] As we've discussed in a number of episodes,
[00:02:17] feelings are often fleeting or situational and don't last forever.
[00:02:24] Emotions are given to us to process the stuff of life,
[00:02:29] and each one has a place.
[00:02:33] The harm is when we get stuck there.
[00:02:37] If these emotions interfere with normal activities,
[00:02:41] or there is no longer any interest in daily routines,
[00:02:45] it might be time to check in with a professional or primary care physician.
[00:02:52] There are as many opinions about meds as there are people,
[00:02:55] and I've expressed how I feel about them in previous episodes.
[00:03:00] Wherever you sit on that continuum, and note, I'm not a clinician.
[00:03:05] Do so in concert with a medical partner who will include your perspective
[00:03:10] and work with you on an individualized plan based on your own medical history.
[00:03:17] There is no shame in reaching out for help or in receiving it.
[00:03:23] A number of people in the Bible are described in ways that we might label as depressed,
[00:03:30] hyperactive and the like.
[00:03:33] Yet God used every one of them for his purposes.
[00:03:38] He can use you and me as well.
[00:03:44] Our meme for today says,
[00:03:46] Some days were okay. Some days we aren't.
[00:03:49] And that's okay too.
[00:03:52] There are a few episodes in the archives on what to say and what not to say
[00:03:58] to someone struggling with depression.
[00:04:02] Be a friend, just maybe not, Jobs friends.
[00:04:08] With World Mental Health Day coming up,
[00:04:11] chime in with some topics you'd like to explore more.
