Peace or Pieces?

[00:00:49] Anchor is child and teen. Some might still call me a bit on the spicy side. So, patients and gentleness are not second nature to me. But in the same episode I mentioned how as an adult,

[00:01:05] one who has committed her life to Christ, I've sought out and reconnected with many of my former nemesis and tried to mend as many fences as possible. The nature of the field I'm in can be quite

[00:01:20] fractious at times, but the older I've gotten, the more I've tried to keep above the fray, if and whenever possible. Recently I became aware of one of these factions. After a lot of

[00:01:35] back and forth, that at times was contentious. The team I've been working with got some of the needed assets. Throughout this period any time I was included in the conversations, I tried hard,

[00:01:49] not just to be civil, but to be genuine and kind. Even when people were abrupt with me, and they were, even when people hung up on me, and they did, I tried to keep my cool.

[00:02:07] I kept trying to project the good relationship I had with some of these folks before the skirmishes began. At times though it was disheartening to see people I formally respected, engaged in this conduct, I kept the what would Jesus do spirit going, eventually at the very

[00:02:28] end of the negotiations. One of the people responded to me directly in a very positive way, and I was so excited. Yes, the people pleaser me, but also the Christ loving me.

[00:02:43] Today the same person reached out again, positively, and there was no reason for them to reach out. The lesson is Christ wins, always. His way all the way. Then you have that piece that passes all understanding that Philippians 4 7 talks about. Further, Galatians 220 says,

[00:03:11] I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

[00:03:27] Recently I posted an episode called All of the And None of Me. It's what I'm trying to aspire to more and more. I'm not relating this story for Kudos, I'm relating it so I can listen to

[00:03:44] it on the days I want to throw something across the room at my wall, and I related for those of you who like me are a wee bit spicy. Okay, very spicy. There is hope.

[00:04:02] Jesus said, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God, Matthew 5 9. Romans 12 17 and 18 says, Do not repaint anyone evil for evil, carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part live at peace with everyone.

[00:04:27] A little bit further down, it says acting in such a way is like heaping holes of fire on their heads. As we discussed in an episode on vengeance, it belongs to God. It stays firmly in his court,

[00:04:44] too. I certainly don't want to be on the receiving end of it because I refused to extend forgiveness to a fellow worker like the Matthew 18 guy, the unmersible servant. Our meme for today says, Living a life filled with peace helps when it feels like things are going
