[00:00:00] Sharing a home with a new kitten brings about many parallels to our new life in Christ. Tune in! Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the Daily Podcast Chopful of Faithful, Inspiration and Motivation. MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today. Welcome to a new episode.
[00:00:43] If you enjoyed this podcast, please like, follow, subscribe, review and or share with friends. Thank you. There's a new sheriff in town. We have a new kitten, and she has all of us eating out of her paws. There's something exciting about new life.
[00:01:04] And in watching our kitten, it strikes me there are some spiritual correlations we can make. They're wobbly. They're still getting their feet underneath them and haven't quite got things figured out yet. There's a lot to learn all at once, and a lot of distractions. Second Corinthians, five-17 says,
[00:01:27] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come. There's no predictable routine yet. We have the expression catnap for a reason.
[00:01:44] They take teeny weenie maps, and they take big long maps too, with little rhyme or reason. Just like new Christians need to develop a regular habit of Bible study and attending worship services. Second Timothy 215 and Hebrews 1025 come readily to mind. They need training.
[00:02:08] Our little gal is not quite eight weeks old. She's teething, so she choose on whatever is available. People, her crate, whatever is handy. We're teaching her what is acceptable and what is not yet gently.
[00:02:25] We don't want bad habits to develop yet, as we will discuss, patience is an necessity. Second Timothy 3, 16, and 17 says, All scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
[00:02:45] So the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work. We talk baby talk and are usually patient. I'm not saying to be condescending with those new to Christ, but sometimes we use a lot of big words and insider jargon that's just unnecessary.
[00:03:03] Not everyone was like Paul with a world-class education at the feet of Gamelio. Acts 4, 16 tells us somewhere unlearned Galileans. We should heed Galatians 6-1 and be patient, and correct in love, and live out the instructions in 1 Corinthians 13. Their attention span is all over.
[00:03:28] They're learning so many things at once. It's hard for them to focus for a long period of time.
[00:03:35] We need to help the new and Christ organize information and passages of scripture, so they have them at the ready and help them in prioritizing the things needed in their new walk. They won't be perfect overnight. It's unrealistic to expect.
[00:03:50] We just need to continue harnessing that energy and zeal. Romans 1211 says, Do not let your zeal subside. Keep your spiritual fervor. Serving the Lord. Which brings us dissonance. They are weaning away from mom's milk and onto solid food.
[00:04:09] This is a longer process for the baby Christian than the baby kitten. Milk is appropriate, and for a certain amount of time. They are nutrients that anoculate the kittens just like foundational introductory verses build up new Christians. 1 Peter 2 says,
[00:04:28] Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. Once weened however, solid food will sustain the growth. Else you regress and become weak. Hebrews 5, 12 reminds us,
[00:04:46] Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to re-teach you, the basic principles of God's word. You need milk, not solid food. Thera adorable is kittens, but as they get older we just aren't as attentive.
[00:05:03] Just as pet ownership is a responsibility for a lifetime. So must we integrate care of the new Christian into the body as described in 1 Corinthians 12. Our meme for today says, With new life, come new opportunities. Thanks for listening to Momo 634. Motivational Moments, just for today.
