[00:00:01] Tune in for some lessons we can draw from imperfect parents and a perfect one.

[00:00:11] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration and

[00:00:18] motivation.

[00:00:19] Please like, share, and subscribe.

[00:00:23] MoMo634 – Motivational Moments just for today.

[00:00:42] My daughter, who I recently mentioned has been struggling with a chronic illness, said

[00:00:49] the other day how when she was little, she remembered not feeling well and wanting to

[00:00:55] wrap herself in our comforter because it smelled like mom and dad.

[00:01:02] As she was saying this, her older brother was nearby and began smiling and nodding his head

[00:01:09] at this reminiscence, as apparently he too enjoyed snuggling in this old comforter.

[00:01:17] As I may have mentioned before, my youngest wasn't a snuggly kid, and it hasn't changed

[00:01:25] much as he's gotten older.

[00:01:27] However, last night, while still not snuggly, he clearly needed some mama time and came to

[00:01:36] talk to me about some things he'd discovered in his history book, his favorite subject.

[00:01:44] We had a great time talking about things that interested him for quite a while.

[00:01:51] Today, my daughter was still really out of it from her ordeal at the ER yesterday and came

[00:01:59] into my room to crash for a while.

[00:02:03] A long while.

[00:02:06] And I just loved that she drew comfort from her mama's presence.

[00:02:11] I enjoyed the peace of watching her as she slept.

[00:02:18] My kids are all young adults now, and it's been hard to move into that season where they

[00:02:24] aren't kids.

[00:02:26] Your relationship changes as their independence is fully recognized.

[00:02:32] Yet, there are moments, touch points, where they still need the comfort of parents who speak

[00:02:40] their unique love language.

[00:02:43] It's much like our relationship with God.

[00:02:47] Sometimes we just need Abba, the word we'd translate as Dad, or a more intimate term for Father.

[00:02:56] See Galatians 4.6, Mark 14.36, and Romans 8.15.

[00:03:04] There is probably not a parent within the sound of my voice that hasn't doubted themselves at times.

[00:03:11] Fully convinced, the hospital staff made a huge mistake in trusting us with an actual little human.

[00:03:20] But despite it all, warts and everything, it feels great to know our kids generally enjoy being around us.

[00:03:31] Some of us don't have that, I know.

[00:03:34] I grew up without my father, and so coming into God's family and having him claim me as his child

[00:03:43] has been a true gift and blessing.

[00:03:47] This relationship is something we can all have, regardless of how things stand with an earthly father

[00:03:54] or parent, and definitely a bond to cherish.

[00:04:00] Our meme for today says, seek out relationships.
