[00:00:05] Tune in for some navigational tips.

[00:00:30] As I shared recently, I felt the symptoms of the return of a depressive episode.

[00:00:51] Lethergy, lack of interest in things, sadness and changes in sleep patterns.

[00:00:59] I started on a supplement that I hope will help as it has in times past when I felt these sensations.

[00:01:07] While I wait for it to kick in, I'm trying to find ways to motivate myself to do the things that need doing on the daily.

[00:01:17] Here are a few takeaways.

[00:01:19] One, streamline.

[00:01:22] I'm trying to do only the things that I absolutely have to do.

[00:01:28] Honoring obligations and rescheduling when and wherever possible.

[00:01:34] Two, simplify.

[00:01:37] If I can't do the whole of the big things, can I do a smaller portion for now?

[00:01:44] Most know I live by my to-do list and trackers which can be both a blessing and a curse.

[00:01:52] Big deliverables are almost always broken down into a series of smaller and more manageable tasks.

[00:02:00] Negotiate doing some of these smaller bits as you prioritize your self-care.

[00:02:07] We discussed self-care in yesterday's episode.

[00:02:12] Three, celebrate and reward efforts.

[00:02:17] These tinier tasks may not take as much effort as others, but also when dealing with a slump in mood, once energy isn't the same.

[00:02:27] So doing smaller tasks is something to celebrate given that you are functioning on lower energy, interest and motivation.

[00:02:36] And of course all of these suggestions are predicated on prayer.

[00:02:43] First Thessalonians 517 says, pray without ceasing.

[00:02:50] Additionally, I've been trying to communicate with those around me, though admittedly that's hard when dealing with mood issues.

[00:02:58] We don't always hear what said the way it's meant.

[00:03:03] We can often come across defensively and our frustration tolerance is even lower than usual.

[00:03:11] Ask for grace.

[00:03:14] Our meme for today says, we extend grace to others yet it's important to extend it to ourselves also.
