[00:00:00] Humpty Blas, here are some motivational thoughts to turn it around. Stay tuned!

[00:00:30] We've discussed the psychology of Monday in our previous episode as well as fry yay! Today we

[00:00:50] discuss what some feel are midweek doldrums Wednesdays. Growing up one of my favorite books

[00:00:58] was The Phantom Toll Booth by Norton Jester and Illustrated by Jules Feiffer. In the book,

[00:01:05] the protagonist Milo falls into the doldrums. He gets lost in a boring place with a lack

[00:01:13] of color where nothing happens. Wednesdays can be like that. We're far past the weekend

[00:01:21] without its fumes to boy us, yet far enough away from the weekend to anticipate it. As mentioned

[00:01:29] in the episode Oasis, we need little rewards to keep us motivated and energized. For me,

[00:01:38] that comes in the form of my spiritual practice spanning several decades of attending a midweek

[00:01:44] Bible study. If God is our power source and He is, recharging our spiritual batteries not

[00:01:53] only with His Word but gathering with other believers is refreshing. Proverbs 27, 17 says,

[00:02:02] as iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another. Change up your scenery. Put up something

[00:02:12] new in your workspace, a picture of a place you'd like to go or information about an event

[00:02:17] that's coming up. Gameify, instead of big breaks, take smaller ones and reward yourself

[00:02:25] with a quick social media check if allowed by your school or workplace or a quick round

[00:02:31] of a mobile game or a brief call to a loved one. Embrace the kiss principle, keep it simple.

[00:02:39] Dump some ingredients into a crock pot in the morning and you'll have dinner waiting

[00:02:44] and something to look forward to throughout your day.

[00:02:49] Boredem is an essential life skill. Sounds crazy, I know. But look at our society now. We're

[00:02:57] all connected. Addicted really to devices all day to entertain us. When the power goes

[00:03:05] out or we have some sort of, oh say massive solar eclipse projected to possibly knock

[00:03:12] out power. Leave people indoors for hours on end and the like. What will you do?

[00:03:20] Our meme for today says if you were blessed to see another day then it's a good day no

[00:03:27] matter what day of the week.
