[00:00:00] If you are a parent, educator, or caregiver, you understand the significance of this episode's

[00:00:07] title. Tune in for a twist on the thought.

[00:00:13] Hello and welcome to MoMo 634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration and

[00:00:21] motivation. Please like, share, and subscribe. MoMo 634, Motivational Moments just for today.

[00:00:44] In their struggle for independence, toddlers are master of, Me Do It! Adolescents also go

[00:00:53] through this stage, slightly more eloquently, but with significantly more eye-rolling and

[00:00:59] huffing and puffing. Young adults also grapple with it as they establish their own lives and

[00:01:06] spaces, separate from parents. Though one would argue these steps are necessary, does it follow

[00:01:14] that dependence is a bad thing? I say this because children of God are to be utterly reliant upon

[00:01:23] Him. We must have an understanding that, since He has the big picture and the aerial view, He

[00:01:30] knows what is best for us. He even tells us this in Isaiah 55, 8 and 9, when He says,

[00:01:38] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

[00:01:45] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts

[00:01:52] are higher than your ways, and my thoughts. Jeremiah 29, 11 tells us that God has carefully crafted plans

[00:02:00] for us. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm

[00:02:08] you, to give you a future and a hope. Jesus tells us to abide in the Father, to have life, and be one with

[00:02:19] Him, as Christ and the Father are one. In this case, dependence is a good thing, a very good thing.

[00:02:29] When toddlers insist on me do, often things don't go well. It's the same when we insist doing things

[00:02:38] our way rather than Christ's. Sometimes during the adolescent and young adult versions of me do it,

[00:02:47] it's because they want to do something they know isn't according to God's will.

[00:02:54] Again, as with toddler me do, it can backfire. Sometimes it's a Satan in the garden moment,

[00:03:02] when there aren't immediate consequences, yet the consequences are there all the same.

[00:03:11] Interdependence is also a good thing. Marriage is interdependence, going through life as a unit,

[00:03:20] navigating both joy and sadness, better or worse, richer or poorer. Further, God in His wisdom

[00:03:30] designed the church, a place for us, yes, to worship Him, but to get and receive help,

[00:03:37] bear one another's burdens, learn and grow, receive correction, and find refuge from the world.

[00:03:47] The Bible describes it as a body, that each member has a vital role to play, and all are needed.

[00:03:57] The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts, and although its parts are many,

[00:04:03] they form one body, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12, 12.

[00:04:12] So yes, independence is great, but dependence and interdependence, as described in this episode,

[00:04:21] are also good things. Our meme for today says,

[00:04:26] Just because you can, doesn't always mean you have to. Which of the three, independence,

[00:04:36] dependence, or interdependence, do you find the most challenging, and why? Chime in below.
