[00:00:26] Our kitten has a favorite toy.

[00:00:42] Given to her by a beloved uncle, I have to say that because he's a regular listener.

[00:00:49] She loves her laser pointer, but it makes her absolutely frantic.

[00:00:55] She will stop whatever she is doing and will be 100% focused on that little red dot, to the exclusion of all else.

[00:01:05] Even when it's off momentarily, to give her some time to regroup, she will keep looking around, hoping to steal a glimpse of it.

[00:01:16] As with Mixtape of Lies and Satan and the Solicitor, the devil is much like the cat in the hat with his bag of naughty tricks.

[00:01:26] One of the most destructive is busyness.

[00:01:31] Much like our kitten's obsession with her laser pointer, Satan keeps us busy, so that we forget about everything while enmeshed in life or work stuff.

[00:01:43] Some will shrug off the low-hanging fruit of activities to make more time for this stuff.

[00:01:51] Bible reading, praying, worship assembly.

[00:01:55] Some consider those extraneous extracurriculars rather than soul-sustaining necessities.

[00:02:03] Listen to what God says in Matthew 6.33

[00:02:08] But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

[00:02:19] Seek God first.

[00:02:21] Draw near to him and resist Satan's snares.

[00:02:27] James 4.7-8 says,

[00:02:30] Submit yourselves then to God.

[00:02:33] Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

[00:02:37] Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.

[00:02:42] Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
