[00:00:00] How do we navigate life after loss?
[00:00:03] Tune in for some thoughts.
[00:00:05] Hello and welcome to MoMo634

[00:00:17] MoMo634, Motivational Moments just for today
[00:00:23] Welcome to a new episode.

[00:00:45] and or review on whatever platform you use to tune in.
[00:00:50] Well, it's here.
[00:00:52] The big grief of verse 3 week.
[00:00:55] Last year there were three losses in this one week alone.
[00:01:01] These losses and my inability to deal with them led to creating this podcast.
[00:01:08] And in that time I've done several episodes on grief and loss.
[00:01:13] Do be sure to tune in to them for practical steps to assist you.
[00:01:18] Today is about trying to move forward with a hole in your heart, shaped for the one lost.
[00:01:25] If you've listened long at all, you know I'm a major jay knight, a devotee of all things Austin.
[00:01:33] In dear James Regency England, one wore full morning regalia for prescribed length of time,
[00:01:40] depending on the closeness of the relationship lost, then into half-morning dress.
[00:01:46] Even though it's not the Regency period and I live nowhere near England y'all,
[00:01:52] a year is a significant marker.
[00:01:55] One has gone through all the first described in the episode grief and adversaries,
[00:02:01] birthdays, holidays, and the like.
[00:02:04] So now it's just figuring out what worked and what didn't in marking or not marking those occasions.
[00:02:12] It's okay to fine tune.
[00:02:15] It's your own personal grief.
[00:02:17] There is no timetable or right way to do things.
[00:02:22] As mentioned in that episode some of our observances have evolved as the pain shifts and settles.
[00:02:30] Revisit and tweak as needed.
[00:02:33] I feel like I'm slowly coming out of a days or fog, not fully engaged to the degree I was before the loss,
[00:02:42] but more willing to try and find that new normal.
[00:02:47] Abel to look at pictures and reminisce without completely losing it.
[00:02:53] My heart bruised and battered yet still beating and able to love.
[00:02:59] I really do love the first verses of 2 Corinthians chapter 1,
[00:03:04] because who understands loss better than the one who watched his only son die?
[00:03:11] It says, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
[00:03:17] the Father of compassion, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles
[00:03:24] so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
[00:03:32] For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
[00:03:42] Our meme for today says, grief and loss are generally proportionate to the depth of the relationship.
[00:03:49] To grieve deeply is to have loved equally as deeply.
[00:03:55] That love is still there.
[00:03:58] Faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.
[00:04:04] So first Corinthians 13 tells us,
[00:04:07] thus the love lives on forever until we can see our love one again and beyond,
[00:04:15] the what that relationship looks like after this life may change somewhat.
[00:04:20] What has brought you comfort in learning to navigate life after loss?
