[00:00:00] Yep, just like a broken clock is right twice a day, twice a year we go through a time change.
[00:00:07] Tune in for some tips to mitigate the stress to our bodies.
[00:00:14] Hello and welcome to MoMo 634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration and motivation.
[00:00:23] Please like, share, and subscribe.
[00:00:26] MoMo 634, Motivational Moments, just for today.
[00:00:46] Usually during this time of the year, you see memes of the iconic singer that say,
[00:00:51] If I could turn back time, share, C-H-E-R, with a friend.
[00:00:59] So I went with another song title having to do with time, and I think it's better fitting
[00:01:04] because people and pets get twisted up around the two times a year we change our clocks.
[00:01:12] For those with mental health and mood disorders exacerbated by sleep deprivation, even though
[00:01:20] we get an extra hour this time around, it's good to slowly ease yourself into the new time change.
[00:01:29] Get your body and its circadian rhythm used to it rather than plunging in cold turkey.
[00:01:37] Just as one would prepare for a fast or running a marathon, it can take a while to acclimate the body.
[00:01:47] Additionally, check out the episodes on Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD, linked under the World Mental Health Day resources,
[00:01:55] if this time of year warrants additional support, such as light therapy.
[00:02:02] Further, try to keep a lighter workload for the first few days after a time change, just for mental acuity's sake.
[00:02:12] And if you can't do without screen time right before bed, try blue light blocking glasses,
[00:02:18] or use an app like Flux to approximate sundown so that melatonin production isn't impeded by device use.
[00:02:28] The Bible talks a lot about preparation.
[00:02:31] The ants in Proverbs 6, the king counting the cost before battle,
[00:02:36] and other discussions about planting, farming, and harvest.
[00:02:41] With a little work, we can mitigate the effect of the time change on our bodies.
[00:02:46] And we can be ready, because it always falls in the middle of the night on a Saturday.
[00:02:52] So Sunday, many of us have difficulties staying mentally alert
[00:02:57] during the most important day of the week for Christians.
[00:03:02] Our meme for today says,
[00:03:05] Whether a time warp or time slipping into the future,
[00:03:08] we can be ready with a little preparation.
[00:03:11] How do you prepare for the time change?
[00:03:15] Chime in below.
