[00:00:20] MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today.

[00:00:42] My youngest son has been fascinated with wildlife from a very young age.

[00:00:48] He watched Go Diego Go.

[00:00:50] We even saw Diego Live.

[00:00:54] He watched Zubomafu and its spin-off Wild Crats.

[00:00:58] You name it, he watched it.

[00:01:02] We got him a number of books and field guides with increasing details.

[00:01:08] We gave him binoculars and you could often find him in the window looking at the birds

[00:01:13] in the tree in our front yard.

[00:01:17] Later he volunteered with a noted wildlife group back in our former home state of California.

[00:01:25] He wanted to formalize his experience by stepping up to become an intern with the organization

[00:01:32] and was accepted.

[00:01:34] Now he is the go-to expert among all of his family and friends.

[00:01:40] People will often post pictures of birds online asking if anyone can identify them and generally

[00:01:46] within a few seconds my youngest is naming the bird, why he thinks it's that bird and

[00:01:51] can recite diet, habitat and wingspan like some guys spout sports stats like rushing

[00:01:57] yards, free throw percentage or RBI's.

[00:02:01] Today someone did post asking what bird people thought was in the picture.

[00:02:07] My son looked, told me what he thought then confirmed it by pouring over his books.

[00:02:14] It gave me a mental parallel for how we should approach the knowledge of God.

[00:02:20] We should start learning about him in our youth as Ecclesiastes 12-1 enjoins like our

[00:02:26] son did when he first became interested in birds as a child.

[00:02:30] Read the guidebook, the Bible.

[00:02:33] Pour over it, go back again and again as our son did with his field guides.

[00:02:39] He drew detailed drawings from pictures he found and studied their anatomy.

[00:02:44] Additionally, he would go back and use it to confirm what others had heard or seen.

[00:02:52] Memorize the details.

[00:02:54] Just as my son knows details about various birds we should know the characteristics of

[00:03:00] God.

[00:03:02] If we know that we will know when someone is teaching something in error.

[00:03:08] Practice in the field.

[00:03:10] Just as my son went out with his binoculars, go where God's word is spoken.

[00:03:15] See him up close.

[00:03:18] Examine him.

[00:03:19] My son volunteered then interned, increasing his responsibility and stepping up into

[00:03:25] service.

[00:03:27] Both sons now preach and teach, actively using what they've learned about God and

[00:03:33] put it into practice.

[00:03:36] God wants us to ask, seek and knock.

[00:03:40] He wants us to long for him as the deer longs for water.

[00:03:45] He wants us to hunger and thirst for righteousness.

[00:03:49] These words paint a picture of an active quest as my son did with his desire to understand

[00:03:56] the wildlife he was fascinated by.

[00:03:59] If we have that true need to know and understand, we can be confident we will find him.

[00:04:07] Our meme for today says, Know and Be Known, Seek and Be Sawed After.

[00:04:14] God's love is all-encompassing.

[00:04:18] He is worthy of the same effort.
