[00:00:00] Great gravy no, we are not discussing math. But we are discussing a common denominator in many mood disturbances. Tune in! Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faith-filled inspiration and motivation. Please like, share, and subscribe.
[00:00:26] MoMo634 – Motivational Moments, just for today. I've been going through a few things as of late, and after the migraine earlier this
[00:00:52] week, my sleep schedule, such as it is, was thrown out of whack. To carry out our title's mathematical metaphor, those are variables for disaster. But I finally figured out what's behind a lot of the foot-dragging. I'm feeling irrational.
[00:01:15] When I'm listening to Satan's mixtape of lies on Shuffle, I'm buying what he's selling. He's holding the mirror in the not-so-fun house. He distorts a real image, but makes it seem like what we see is reality. Throughout our time together via this podcast, I've provided tips for resisting and flipping
[00:01:43] those ants – automatic negative thoughts. But there's a caveat, and it's a big one. When the brain chemistry is wonky, so is the reasoning process. Finding the gumption or even the desire to fight back is hard in the face of just wanting to sink down into the miry lies.
[00:02:10] That's why the gauntlet of truth is so crucial. For those not familiar with this refrain carried through a number of these episodes, Satan is the father of lies, according to John 8.44. Just a few verses before, in John 8.32, Jesus tells us the truth will set us free.
[00:02:34] Therefore, we have to hold Satan's lies up to the mirror of truth. Philippians 4.8 says, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think on these things.
[00:03:03] Are the lies being peddled to you true, honorable, pure? Go down that list in verse 8. If things are hard or unfair, that doesn't change the truth of God's gift to us through His Son. Hard or unfair doesn't snatch the surety of our salvation from God's hands.
[00:03:29] Only we can choose to walk away from such a gift. That is a soft blanket to land on during the hard days. That is a truth to bank on when nickels to rub together are few. And that is something to write in all caps in your gratitude journal. Now, salvation is mine.
[00:03:56] Pull out your loud, drummy playlist or your quiet, skippy music during these rough days. Grab your toolkit of hobbies, essential oils, whatever it may be, and know you just have to get through this minute, this hour, this day. Today's Momoism is a reminder of something often said here.
[00:04:23] The sun, S-O-N, always shines. On the rough days, what hinders you from fully embracing what you know to be true? Chime in below. Thanks for listening to Momo 634. Motivational moments just for today.
