[00:00:00] A famous quote, an iconic movie, and a family Bible study are the sources for this episode on the impact one person can have.

[00:00:12] tune in!

[00:00:17] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the Daily Podcast Chompful of Faithfield Inspiration and Motivation.

[00:00:29] MoMo634, Motivational Moments, just for today.

[00:00:48] I know the temptation once September rolls around is to skip straight to the end of the year holidays,

[00:00:55] but I actually have a purpose behind wanting to discuss a famous holiday movie today.

[00:01:02] It's a wonderful life, has been a favorite movie of mine, probably for as long as I can remember.

[00:01:09] Most Americans know the story of George Bailey, who had such a profound effect on others.

[00:01:17] A quote, written in a book, shown near the end of the film says,

[00:01:22] No Man is a failure who has friends.

[00:01:27] The movie is an homage to one's influence.

[00:01:30] In a recent Bible study, someone discussed the fact that her mom had grown up in a very religious household,

[00:01:39] but fell away from the faith by her late teens.

[00:01:43] So when this person dedicated her life to Christ through baptism, she felt like an island in her own home.

[00:01:50] No support from family or friends, and her church family became a haven.

[00:01:56] She was teased by friends for her newfound faith, but she persisted.

[00:02:03] Shortly before her marriage, her husband to be was converted to Christ.

[00:02:08] Oddly, one of the friends who had formerly teased her.

[00:02:14] Early in their marriage, they acted as surrogate parents.

[00:02:18] Though these kids fell away for a time due to some life turbulence,

[00:02:24] they eventually came back to the faith after much prayer and encouragement from the couple who had continued to reach out to them.

[00:02:34] The couple eventually had children of their own who were brought up in the faith.

[00:02:40] The mother who would fall in a way when the girl became a Christian was restored to the faith before her death due to the loving persistence of the friend turned husband of her daughter.

[00:02:56] The kids they fostered had families of their own, now being raised in the church.

[00:03:03] They invested time and effort into friends who contemplated abandoning their faith,

[00:03:10] and as Galatians 6-1 talks about, turn them back again in gentleness.

[00:03:18] From this narrative, we can see the generational influence one person can have, both for better and for worse.

[00:03:29] Consider your powerful influence.

[00:03:34] Our meme for today says, be the friend who makes someone better.

[00:03:41] Do you have a story where influence made a difference?
