[00:00:54] anything, be kind.

[00:00:58] This is common sense just about every kid on the planet has heard, if you can't say

[00:01:03] anything nice don't say anything at all.

[00:01:08] Further it's biblical.

[00:01:11] Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love in honor giving preference to

[00:01:17] one another.

[00:01:19] Romans 12 10.

[00:01:22] And let us not grow weary in well doing for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do

[00:01:28] not give up.

[00:01:30] Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone and especially to the family

[00:01:39] of faith.

[00:01:41] Today we had an unexpected charge on our card.

[00:01:48] So I contacted the company that made it.

[00:01:51] After being transferred into an automated system a number of times, I politely asked to speak

[00:01:58] with a human.

[00:02:00] The rep interrupted me and used a rude tone of voice to let me know that was the only

[00:02:06] way to get into the service queue.

[00:02:10] Not shockingly, an internet search turned up over a thousand complaints about this company.

[00:02:19] In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

[00:02:25] The temptation to be snarky and rude back was strong but I remained calm with a nice

[00:02:32] tone of voice.

[00:02:35] I'll probably work it out with the bank rather than the company but the point is whether you

[00:02:41] are an individual or a business, how you treat others speaks volumes.

[00:02:50] I'm particularly sensitive because one, I'm a people pleaser with a mood disorder.

[00:02:56] Two, having had my last two workplaces headed by people who felt it was okay publicly

[00:03:04] to belittle staff and treat them poorly just bothered me.

[00:03:10] And three, as discussed in the episode my origin story I was bullied as a kid so bullies

[00:03:16] are a pet peeve and a sore spot.

[00:03:20] Scripture doesn't have loop holes.

[00:03:23] We are held to a standard in our conduct.

[00:03:28] Our meme for today says, kindness is a natural sweetener that should attract all.
