[00:00:47] I'm blessed to be working full time and while it's alleviated one problem, it's created another. Finding time to meet all of my other existing obligations. As stated in the intro, my yes to work can't be a no to existing obligations.

[00:01:06] Fine, I won't take on anything new but how in the world do I make more time appear out of thin air? First of all, long time listeners know I am a voracious reader. I'm a little over midway through book 173 for the year, not counting the books I abandoned.

[00:01:26] I haven't read much at all today. There's a good two or three hours right there. I spent most of today rearranging things on my computer. In typical or neuroatipical fashion, I have 20 tabs open on each of the three or four browsers at any given time.

[00:01:48] I rearranged them and updated pinned tabs to reflect current projects and priorities. This will save time searching for them each time they're needed. Really, this adds about 20 to 30 minutes to my day.

[00:02:05] That may not seem like a lot but every second is pre-mo real estate for me right now. Like meal prep for foodies, I batched some other tasks. I created a full month worth of promos for one organization I work with. It took about 15 minutes.

[00:02:25] I'm hoping to do that with a couple of other tasks before the weekend is over. I only checked my work email once. I ended up addressing two things quickly, taking about 15 minutes.

[00:02:38] I'm going to try not to peek in on the weekends, saving myself that quarter of an hour. That didn't address the text messages I received today, however. But even there, I set some boundaries and gave a deliverable date for a timeframe within my work hours.

[00:02:57] For those keeping track at home, that's approximately three to four hours I've restored. If I can replicate this with two other responsibilities I have, I will have saved another hour or two as these are daily tasks not weekly as the ones I did today.

[00:03:18] It takes a lot of discipline but like with the food prep analogy, it takes time to make time. But once made, it's easier to maintain. It's like putting laundry away or keeping your keys in the same place. Once ingrained and part of your overall system, it's just maintenance.

[00:03:40] Theoretically you could say I said no to reading or a favorite pastime, but what I really did was reprioritize so I could say no to stress and scrambling. All of this was fueled by coffee and my loud, drummy spotify playlist.

[00:03:59] As a crazy ass these three ones says to everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. Our meme for today says we can't add time to the clock but we can be more efficient with the amount already on it.
