[00:00:00] Another internet meme is the catalyst for this episode. One sure to make you think a bit deeper. Buckle up and stay tuned.
[00:00:13] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.
[00:00:22] MoMo634 Motivational Moments Just for Today
[00:00:27] Every so often, a meme pops up on social media with a number of houses or tables. Within each group is a list of notable Bible characters,
[00:00:55] asking the viewer to choose which group they'd like to spend time with. Want to ask Eve why a talking snake wasn't a red flag?
[00:01:06] Or hoping to ask Peter what it was actually like taking those first steps out on the water. Maybe checking in with Paul to find out what worship in the first century was really like.
[00:01:19] One of my favorite people mentioned in the Bible is Dorcas. As a netter, I have loved making things for people I knew they would enjoy.
[00:01:29] Also, having an amazing relationship with my own mother-in-law, I understand better the story of Ruth and Naomi.
[00:01:40] Little did I know it at the time when my husband and I married and I quoted Ruth 116 in my vows, but she really has become one of my people as I am hers and together we are blessed.
[00:01:57] And while I can relate to Mary as a mom who has stored up things about my children in my heart and having lost a child of my own, though in a far different way than her loss, I know that pain.
[00:02:13] But it's Barnabas I'd like to spend some time with.
[00:02:17] In Acts 4, the Bible tells us he was known as the Son of Encouragement. In the episode Who Are You, I asked what would your Bible characteristic name be?
[00:02:33] I'm not sure mine would be anywhere near daughter of encouragement, but I'd sure like it to be.
[00:02:41] There are a number of lists of traits in the Bible. Galatians 5, 22 and 23. 1 Corinthians 13, 4 through 7. And 2 Peter 1, 5 through 7 readily come to mind.
[00:02:59] Study them, emulate them as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11, imitate me as I imitate Christ and take actionable steps to implement the changes.
[00:03:13] Over 35 years ago, I read a book called Spiritual Aerobics and it's the same principle.
[00:03:20] Work out, flex your spiritual muscles, put in the time and effort and you can achieve spiritual change.
[00:03:29] The Gospel has transformed lives. In fact, we're called to be transformed in Romans 12, 1 and 2.
[00:03:38] So it is possible and of course ask God for help in doing so.
[00:03:45] Our meme for today says, as long as there is breath in the body, there is time to adjust, change or begin anew.
[00:04:08] Give it a like or review, tell a friend and follow along on social media or your favorite podcast platform.
