[00:00:00] When life comes at as hard, consider these two ways to look at things to help protect us.
[00:00:07] Tune in!
[00:00:30] Our title today has a dual meaning.
[00:00:46] One way to interpret it is by realizing that though external circumstances may be difficult,
[00:00:53] our spiritual focus can help foster growth.
[00:00:58] In his preaching and teaching, my husband often points to the story of Joseph,
[00:01:04] wronged by his family, his character assassinated by a woman, forgotten by those he helped
[00:01:12] while languishing in prison for something he did not do.
[00:01:17] And yet God used him.
[00:01:20] He grew in reputation and responsibility.
[00:01:24] God gave him the ability to interpret dreams for his own purpose.
[00:01:31] After many years unjustly imprisoned, Joseph became second only to Pharaoh upon his release.
[00:01:39] God used him to save the Egyptian people and many of his own countrymen.
[00:01:46] The Bible says those external forces were meant for evil, but God meant it for the eventual good of the people
[00:01:55] and gave Joseph the internal stamina not only to endure our topic yesterday,
[00:02:03] but thrive and eventually prosper all while maintaining a spirit of forgiveness.
[00:02:12] Another way to look at our episode title is the reminder to activate the shield of faith, prayer and God's protection
[00:02:21] while safeguarding our inner person of a meek and gentle spirit.
[00:02:27] Consider Job who endured some of the most unimaginable losses a mere human can sustain.
[00:02:35] And yet God considered him faithful, ultimately blessing him beyond measure.
[00:02:41] Through it all, Job gained valuable spiritual insight and a deeper appreciation for our creator, God.
[00:02:51] Our meme for today says when things are hard externally, focus on the spirit internally.
[00:03:00] And of course, that's just plain good advice, feast or famine.
[00:03:30] And that's all for today's episode.
[00:04:00] .
