[00:00:01] They say forgiving others is more for us than those to whom we extend grace.
[00:00:07] Tune in for more.
[00:00:08] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.
[00:00:19] MoMo634 Motivational Moments just for today.
[00:00:25] Welcome to a new episode.

[00:00:51] With as many references as I make to them on this podcast, by now you must know my meme game is strong.
[00:01:00] One of the most enduring has a number of variations, but it is essentially what we know about the lives of others is very small in comparison to what we don't see.
[00:01:12] I've seen this expressed as an iceberg protruding out of the water with a ginormous iceberg below the surface.
[00:01:20] Another variation is a Venn diagram of sorts with a tiny dot representing what we see and know and a huge circle around it representing what we don't know.
[00:01:32] The upshot is usually a call for grace.
[00:01:36] We've talked about grace and mercy before in an episode of the same name, but as with most things in scripture, it's not a one and done.
[00:01:45] We need the repetition as discussed recently in the episode The Cycle.
[00:01:51] Mercy has been described as unmerited favor or put another way, not getting that which we deserve.
[00:02:00] Grace in contrast is getting what we do not deserve.
[00:02:05] When confronted with the need to extend grace, I try playing the nice game as outlined in the episode of the same name.
[00:02:13] And I usually end up reading Matthew 18 and repeating over and over some variation of I'm the big dollar guy, I'm the big dollar guy, as opposed to the smaller dollar guy.
[00:02:27] When I look at how I've offended God with my egregious sins and how those sins necessitated the blood of His only Son, it's kind of hard to go and grab your fellow man by the collar.
[00:02:41] Yet we do.
[00:02:43] It's why it's helpful to keep the word at the forefront of our minds.
[00:02:48] Heating the words of Ephesians 4-26 and 27 about not ending the day still angry at people helps too.
[00:02:56] As does praying for the person by name.
[00:03:00] Our meme for today says, since we are called to be like God, we must forgive as He does.
[00:03:08] God has a lot more to forgive us of than we do each other.
[00:03:14] A little grace goes a long way.
[00:03:18] What has helped you extend grace or forgive others?
