[00:00:00] We have alerts for urgent things like fires, carbon monoxide poisoning and even medical device alarms.
[00:00:07] But what about spiritually?
[00:00:10] Stay tuned.
[00:00:14] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.
[00:00:23] MoMo634, motivational moments just for today.
[00:00:45] How do I know warm weather has arrived in Texas besides the need for air conditioning?
[00:00:50] The near constant alerts about weather events, thunderstorms, hail storms, tornado watches and warnings,
[00:00:59] sometimes all in the same day as we are today in my part of Texas.
[00:01:05] So often we are warned of the early signs of a stroke or heart attack.
[00:01:11] But what if there was some way to warn people about their spiritual condition?
[00:01:16] Well, there is. It's called the Bible.
[00:01:19] As I've mentioned, we've been going through the Old Testament in our Bible classes in church.
[00:01:25] The overarching theme as we discussed in the episode The Cycle is God telling us not only to avoid doing the things that he spells out clearly,
[00:01:34] but what exactly will happen if we fail to heed the warning?
[00:01:39] And it works for a while.
[00:01:42] Then we get a little rebellious and the next thing you know, we're in deep and begging God to fix it.
[00:01:49] That cycle will not last forever.
[00:01:52] We may think we have time, much like the oft-posted meme of Texans sitting on the porch laughing when there's a tornado warning in effect.
[00:02:03] But one day that simply will not be the case.
[00:02:07] We may laugh now at preppers with their MREs in their basements, along with crank radios.
[00:02:14] But they are ready should the worst come.
[00:02:17] And we've read the end of the book.
[00:02:20] We know there's a good ending and a bad one depending on our preparation in the choices we make now.
[00:02:30] Matthew 5.31 and following paints a picture of what judgment day will be like.
[00:02:37] 2 Corinthians 5.10 says,
[00:02:39] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive his due for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.
[00:02:50] Thankfully God provides an early warning system in his word.
[00:02:55] Read it. Understand our responsibilities toward him and each other.
[00:03:01] Unfortunately, many of us put off making our wills, planning for our final needs, and other tasks deemed unpleasant.
[00:03:10] But when they are taken care of early, our loved ones are grateful when the time comes.
[00:03:17] So it is with knowing our loved ones took the appropriate steps now to address their final spiritual needs.
[00:03:26] Our meme for today says,
[00:03:28] Hell is too long to be wrong.
[00:03:32] Let's make time for the important task of obeying God's early warning system.
