[00:00:00] Today is a big birthday in my house. I thought I'd share some lessons learned along the way. Stay tuned!

[00:00:12] Hello and welcome to MoMo634, the daily podcast chock full of faithful inspiration and motivation.

[00:00:21] MoMo634 Motivational Moments Just for Today.

[00:00:26] Today!

[00:00:43] Though this isn't an exhaustive list by any means, here are some of the biggest lessons I've learned thus far in six decades on Earth.

[00:00:54] 1. God is first, last and in between. If you don't have a relationship with Him yet, make it a priority. Read the book of Acts to see how.

[00:01:08] 2. Next to the decision to dedicate your life to Christ, who you marry is the next most important decision.

[00:01:17] 3. Guard your reputation. We discussed this in the recent episode, a good name.

[00:01:25] 4. Be wise with money and guard your credit, no matter if you're just starting out or if you are farther along in life.

[00:01:33] 5. Try to live without regrets. There are a couple of things I really wish I had done and a few I wish I had never done. Be intentional.

[00:01:46] 6. Make time for fun and creating memories. Work, school and responsibilities will always be there.

[00:01:56] 7. Make time for loved ones and always tell others I love you.

[00:02:03] 8. Document the big things and the little things too.

[00:02:07] 9. Be a good and trustworthy friend. Build others up and make them better for having known you.

[00:02:29] 10. Be kind. We discussed this recently in the episode, in a world where you can be anything, be kind.

[00:02:39] 11. Be a lifelong learner. Read, learn a language, start a new hobby. Always keep learning.

[00:02:50] 12. Delegate tasks or outsource. It makes more time for you and supports others.

[00:02:57] 13. Always point others to Jesus.

[00:03:03] 14. Either finish school or learn a trade.

[00:03:09] 15. A long time ago when I was a child psychology major, I learned the phrase people before things.

[00:03:17] Put family before work and don't accumulate stuff in storage.

[00:03:24] And don't accumulate stuff in storage that others will need to sort through when you are gone.

[00:03:29] Let go of things and make time for people in the present.

[00:03:34] 16. Pets are great therapy. They add to your life and you add to theirs.

[00:03:42] Everyone should learn to nurture.

[00:03:47] 17. Do your best. Be the best spouse, parent, employee, friend and human being that you can be.

[00:03:58] 18. Mentor someone and be mentored. Learn from those before us and bring along those in generations coming behind you.

[00:04:08] 19. Put your money where your mouth is. If a company doesn't share your values, take your business to one that does.

[00:04:17] Win in where you can. Purchase quality goods when you can afford to.

[00:04:22] If you love a product or business, tell them and make their day.

[00:04:27] Have friends with small businesses, support them by telling others and or purchasing from them.

[00:04:35] 20. The expression do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life is true.

[00:04:42] I've had some wonderful jobs that didn't seem like work and others where, though I felt blessed to have income, were soul sucking.

[00:04:52] I'd love to be able to create more of the kind of content I do here with you and I have plans to try.

[00:05:18] Our meme for today says, strive for the contentment that comes from a life well lived.

[00:05:25] And a bonus, it's one that I'm in process with having learned this from a friend who's going through it.

[00:05:32] Plan for eventualities now so that your loved ones do not have to.

[00:05:37] Is there any advice that you would add to this list?
