[00:00:14] From the Hustle in Faith, this podcast is dedicated to helping women who want to analyze, apply, and amplify their God-given gifts.
[00:00:21] We accomplish this by discussing topics such as business, self-improvement, health and beauty, and my random thoughts about life from a Christian perspective.
[00:00:30] I'm your host, LaTosha Johnson.
[00:00:36] Are you tired of feeling less than enough just because you're single?
[00:00:40] Then you'll love my new book, How to Live an Extraordinary Life with or Without Mr. Right.
[00:00:46] A Christian Woman's Guide on How to Survive and Thrive on Single Avenue.
[00:00:51] It's time to acknowledge, address, and dismantle the harmful limited mindset many single Christian women have internalized.

[00:01:04] If you want to be notified when the book is released, please check out the Hustle in Faith website.
[00:01:09] I cannot wait to share this with all my single ladies.
[00:01:12] You have everything you need to live an extraordinary life with or without Mr. Right.
[00:01:25] In the event that you are listening to today's episode and have not listened to day one of the three-day thought detox,
[00:01:32] I really want to encourage you to go ahead and listen to the prior episode
[00:01:37] because all of these episodes this week are building on each other
[00:01:42] because this is a part of a series called Weeding Out Negativity, a three-day thought detox.
[00:01:48] So again, go back and check out that prior episode.
[00:01:51] Contrary to what you may believe, singlehood is not a problem.
[00:01:56] Our perspective towards singlehood causes us to view it as such.
[00:02:01] This is why we must build our faith by daily reading, instilling, and applying God's word into our souls.
[00:02:08] Doing so will remind us that God is sovereign.
[00:02:11] The resistance I encounter in walking towards Christ may surprise me, but not him.
[00:02:18] He's got all my circumstances under his control.
[00:02:22] The choice is up to me as to whether I'll believe him.
[00:02:27] Christ is not going to save me unless I ask for his help.
[00:02:32] Unfortunately, so many people end up drowning in their problems, real and imagined,
[00:02:38] because they allow fear to get in the way of asking God for his help.
[00:02:44] Being afraid is a blessing and a curse.
[00:02:48] When properly channeled, it can protect us, help us realize when we're in danger, and keep us from making mistakes.
[00:02:55] When we're conscientious of our surroundings, we don't experience any unnecessary trouble.
[00:03:01] We don't associate with the wrong people or ignore God's signals when he warns us that we shouldn't be at a specific place or participate in a particular activity.
[00:03:11] Most of the time, when we experience fear, we're tapping into the curse aspect of fear.
[00:03:18] We allow fear to give us a significant case of analysis paralysis.
[00:03:23] We're too scared to decide because we're afraid it will be wrong.
[00:03:29] We don't want to make a mistake.
[00:03:31] This fear can prevent us from recognizing that God is the solution to our problems,
[00:03:37] but we won't be able to access the answer until we have demonstrated that we trust him.
[00:03:43] Our faith activates God's help to allow us to see that the solutions to our problems were often right before us.
[00:03:53] We just couldn't see them.
[00:03:56] The main reason is that God's ideas and timing often don't align with our desires.
[00:04:02] We want what we want when we want it.
[00:04:06] Yet, God wants to give us what we need, not necessarily what we want, especially if he knows we can't handle that desire.
[00:04:18] In this case, the misguided belief is that we must have a husband.
[00:04:24] Our desire to remove the issue causing us fear and discomfort, not having a husband, is more important to us.
[00:04:32] The time we have to wait for God to provide us with the outcome we desire will, without a doubt, cause us unnecessary friction
[00:04:41] if we fail to embody the attributes of Christ while we wait on him.
[00:04:47] The delay we experience in God answering our prayers is for many reasons.
[00:04:53] God may point us toward unaddressed sin, developing us in weak areas, clearing away obstacles we don't see,
[00:05:02] or provide us the much needed time to realize that our desire was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
[00:05:12] Being impatient will place us in a position to always make the wrong decision.
[00:05:18] This will cause us to experience confusion and leave us susceptible to allowing the wrong people in our lives
[00:05:28] and searching for peace in all the wrong places.
[00:05:33] Now, since I figured out what was holding me back from being all in with God,
[00:05:39] I could identify the events and behavior that contributed to my negligence in maintaining my garden.
[00:05:49] So here are some thought questions I want you to reflect on today.
[00:05:54] Why do some people view singlehood as a problem?
[00:06:00] What keeps people from asking God for help?
[00:06:04] What prevents us from seeing God's solution to our problems?
[00:06:11] What are some of the reasons that we experience delays in God answering our prayers?
[00:06:17] I truly hope you found day two and weeding out negativity, a three-day thought detox beneficial.
[00:06:25] Be sure to come back tomorrow for day three.
[00:06:35] Thanks so much for listening to this episode.
