[00:00:52] Hello, welcome to Walking in Step with God. I'm Steve McDonald. Today as we

[00:00:57] continue our series on the power of worship, we explore the topic worship

[00:01:02] with community. There are so many ways to worship

[00:01:06] and show our love and gratitude to God. Many of those ways can be done alone, but there

[00:01:10] are also many ways we can worship with others. Gathering for worship with others can unlock

[00:01:16] a unique power that eludes us when we worship alone. For example, in another message of

[00:01:23] the series we discussed worship with the

[00:01:25] act of praise. Often praise is done among others as many voices come together as one

[00:01:32] to sing praise to God. Today we are going to discuss three ways that we can worship with

[00:01:38] the community. Let's discover how we can worship God together in unity. Before we dive in, let's take a quick break.

[00:01:47] I'll be right back.

[00:02:45] Welcome back.

[00:02:46] Let's dive right into discussing three ways to worship with others in our community.

[00:02:52] Number one, worship through prayer.

[00:02:57] Prayer can and does change lives.

[00:03:01] Praying with others can be a powerful way to lift up a request from

[00:03:05] many before God as one. It can also be a time for bringing many voices together

[00:03:11] to show gratitude for God. God enjoys our individual prayers but when we gather

[00:03:18] together in prayer two or more the divine Presence shows up in fresh and exhilarating ways.

[00:03:26] Prayer with others can be as simple as you're offering to pray with someone to have strength

[00:03:32] during a difficult time.

[00:03:34] It can be a group setting where many people pray as one in thanks for God's abundance.

[00:03:40] In both of these scenarios we lift up our hearts, minds, and spirits before God, in

[00:03:45] the community, to express our thanks and gratitude, or bring a petition before Him.

[00:03:54] Prayer in a community can be a powerful way to provide support for everyone involved.

[00:04:00] Perhaps there are many in a group setting who would not know what to pray, but an individual

[00:04:07] leading a group in prayer can align the hearts and minds of everyone to lift up a unified

[00:04:13] voice before God.

[00:04:17] Number 2 Worship through Fellowship Fellowship is the act of meeting and discussing a walk of faith with others.

[00:04:27] The context can vary. There can be a group of individuals providing support for one another.

[00:04:33] It can also be two individuals talking about their journey in faith. Fellowship may and

[00:04:40] often does include prayer. When we come together in fellowship,

[00:04:45] we create a space for God to touch our hearts and minds

[00:04:48] in a way that may influence the direction of the conversation

[00:04:53] and even the words that are spoken.

[00:04:56] God uses us to provide counsel and guidance to others in need.

[00:05:01] The form of fellowship is a popular and powerful mechanism to share

[00:05:06] ideas, share testimony, and provide support for one another in a safe space

[00:05:12] with other like-minded individuals. If you are looking to energize your walk

[00:05:19] with God be sure to find a way to fellowship with other believers. This

[00:05:24] can be through your place of worship

[00:05:26] in a group or even one-on-one discussions with friends, family, and loved ones.

[00:05:33] Number three, worship through giving. Another powerful way to worship is through giving.

[00:05:48] is through giving. There are many ways to give, giving of our time, giving of our resources,

[00:05:56] giving of our acts of service. All of these ways can allow us to worship God, especially when we ask Him to use us as He sees fit to help others. When we surrender our time, resources, or skillsets to God, he can send us into the world on assignment to interact with others in need.

[00:06:10] Your assignment may involve giving to someone you know very well, or even a stranger you will only meet once and never meet again.

[00:06:20] True giving is giving without regret, hesitation, or disappointment. God delights

[00:06:28] in a cheerful giver, one who looks forward to the opportunity to give,

[00:06:33] representing God's hand in helping someone or even many others in need. If

[00:06:40] you have a desire to give and worship God by giving, I invite you to ask God to use

[00:06:47] you as He sees fit to help others in need.

[00:06:52] You notice I added as He sees fit.

[00:06:56] I say this because I want to invite you to not try to control the way God will use you.

[00:07:04] God knows every single thing about you. What you can

[00:07:10] and cannot offer, what resources you do and do not have, and perhaps most importantly,

[00:07:17] what you are capable of doing to benefit the life of another. So ask him to use you as he sees fit,

[00:07:28] so you can give in a way that maximizes

[00:07:32] your ability to impact someone's life.

[00:07:36] Take it from me, being sent on assignment from God is one of the most

[00:07:40] rewarding and gratifying experiences of our faith. In today's message, we discuss three ways to worship with our community.

[00:07:49] We explore how worship through prayer with others is a powerful way to bring a petition

[00:07:55] before God, or express gratitude and thanks before God in agreement as one.

[00:08:01] We discuss the impact of fellowship with others.

[00:08:04] Discussing our walk with God in living day to the impact of fellowship with others. Discussing our

[00:08:05] walk with God and living day-to-day and our faith with others is a great way to

[00:08:10] support each other through good times and challenging times. We learn that

[00:08:15] fellowship with others is also a great way for God to use us to share wisdom or

[00:08:20] counsel with others. Lastly, we explored how we can worship through giving.

[00:08:27] Similar to the way that God can use us to share words of wisdom with others in fellowship,

[00:08:33] God can also use us to give to someone a need.

[00:08:37] If we ask God to use us as He sees fit, in other words, without self-induced restrictions.

[00:08:45] We will find ourselves on assignment, dispatch from God, to intervene in someone's circumstances

[00:08:52] on God's behalf.

[00:08:54] We learned that giving could be time, resources, or even our skill set.

[00:09:01] The most important thing to know is that only God knows our full potential to give, so let us worship Him by offering ourselves to give to others in need.

[00:09:12] Worship with others in our communities is a powerful way to walk with God in unity with others, celebrating God, thanking, and praising God together.

[00:09:26] Look for ways to worship God with your community today.

[00:09:34] Let's close out in prayer.

[00:09:36] Father, I'm unto God, we thank you for this day.

[00:09:38] We thank you for the words of wisdom that were shared.

[00:09:40] Thank you for giving me the opportunity, Lord God,

[00:09:43] to just share wisdom with our community.

[00:09:47] We thank you for all the opportunities that you give us to worship and we just ask Lord

[00:09:51] that you give us not just the opportunities to worship with others, but also the courage

[00:09:56] if we're feeling hesitant or shy or bashful about worshiping with others. Help us, Lord, to pursue that.

[00:10:05] Help us to have the courage and strength and just the ability

[00:10:10] to push through any hesitation when it comes to worship,

[00:10:13] because we know that you love us.

[00:10:16] We know that we need not worship you for the satisfaction

[00:10:21] of others.

[00:10:21] We worship for the satisfaction of you, Father.

[00:10:24] We want you to see our you, Father. We want

[00:10:25] you to see our love for you. We want you to see our thanks and appreciation for you.

[00:10:29] So we pray this Father God and we thank you in advance. We pray this trusting and believing

[00:10:33] in you. Amen.

[00:12:03] Welcome to Going Deeper with the Word.

[00:12:06] In this segment we welcome people of all backgrounds, religious or not, to review the

[00:12:10] Word of God with me.

[00:12:12] The Word of God provides guidance, direction and instructions for living our lives and

[00:12:17] walking with God.

[00:12:19] Today we examine how God's Word provides clear guidance and direction about worshipping with

[00:12:24] our community.

[00:12:25] Let's review examples of God's Word that can lead and guide our steps and back up the principles

[00:12:31] we learned in today's message. I'll be reading scripture today from the Amplified Bible.

[00:12:37] Here's our first verse. Matthew 18 verses 19 and 20. Again, I say to you that if two believers on earth agree about anything that they ask,

[00:12:51] it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

[00:12:55] For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am among them.

[00:13:02] In this verse Christ explains the impact of bringing a prayer before him

[00:13:07] when more than one is gathered. When we bring a prayer before God in agreement, we are demonstrating

[00:13:13] to God our collective devotion and dedication to placing our trust in him. Do you have something

[00:13:20] in your life that needs prayer? I encourage you to seek out someone in your community,

[00:13:25] a friend, family, or loved one, even someone at your place of worship, to pray with you in agreement

[00:13:33] and bring your petition before God. Have you prayed with others? What was the outcome? Please Please share in the comments. Let's have a look at another verse.

[00:13:46] Hebrews 10 verses 24 and 25.

[00:13:51] And let us consider how we may encourage one another to love and do good deeds,

[00:13:57] not forsaking our meeting together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another

[00:14:03] and all the more, approaching.

[00:14:07] In this verse we see Paul encouraging the Hebrews to encourage one another in meetings.

[00:14:13] This verse explains the importance of meeting in fellowship, gathering with others whether

[00:14:18] a handful or a multitude gives us the chance to lift each other up, providing support, and motivation.

[00:14:27] Fellowship allows like-minded individuals to praise together, share testimony, study God's word,

[00:14:33] and even pray together. Keep fellowship among your priorities to help strengthen your walk with God.

[00:14:44] How does fellowship impact your walk with God?

[00:14:47] Let us know in the comments.

[00:14:50] Let's look at one last verse.

[00:14:53] Proverbs 11, verse 24 and 25.

[00:14:59] There is one who scatters and yet increases all the more,

[00:15:04] and there is the one who withholds what is justly

[00:15:06] due, but it results only in want and poverty. The generous man shall be prosperous and enriched,

[00:15:18] and he who waters will himself be watered." In this verse we learn that giving before God has the effect of returning

[00:15:27] a blessing to the giver. When we give, either through our time, our resources, or our skills,

[00:15:35] we not only provide for others but we can find ourselves richer, enjoy. God loves the cheerful

[00:15:42] giver, asking God to use you to give to others shows him your dedication to serving him.

[00:15:48] And serving others God will ensure that the giver reaps the generosity that he or she has sown.

[00:15:57] When you give, in what way do you most enjoy giving to others in the community?

[00:16:04] Let us know in the community?

[00:16:10] Let us know in the comments. Worshiping with community is a powerful way to bring ourselves before God and unity. While God delights in our worship, even our worship when we are alone,

[00:16:17] we can live in even richer life of faith when we integrate others into our worship.

[00:16:24] Let worshiping with others in your community be a priority in your walk with God.

[00:16:30] Thank you for your time in reviewing these verses with me today.

[00:16:33] Please be sure to share in the comments how these or other examples of God's Word have

[00:16:38] helped you.

[00:16:39] Thank you for the opportunity to share encouragement.

[00:16:46] We are fully committed to Christ and the community.

[00:16:49] We invite you to join us in fellowship

[00:16:53] in your local community as well.
