How can we make prayer a fundamental part of our life each day? What does it mean to be a person of prayer? 🤔 Let's discuss.

[00:00:00] How can we make prayer a fundamental part of our life each day?

[00:00:06] What does it mean to be a person of prayer?

[00:00:10] Let's discuss.

[00:00:23] This is the Walking and Step with God. Today we are going to discuss ways to be a person of prayer. Let us learn how prayer and time with God can strengthen our connection with and reliance on God.

[00:01:42] Before we dive in, let's take a quick break.

[00:01:45] I'll be right back.

[00:02:41] 100stepsbook.com. Welcome back.

[00:02:42] Let's continue discussing three ways that we can be a person of prayer.

[00:02:52] Number one, stop trying to be a person of prayer.

[00:02:57] I know you must be thinking, wait a minute, I thought that it was the whole point of today's

[00:03:02] message.

[00:03:03] Well, it is, but let me explain. one on one time on the regular with your creator. Number two, make a plan to spend time with God. As I have said many times over many messages, one of the most important things you can do in your walk with God is to make time to spend time with him. God seeks an intimate relationship with all of us.

[00:04:22] And I find that creating time for God

[00:04:24] can be very similar to the ways you prioritize I then have several alarms on my phone throughout the day to give me a prompt to stop and take a few moments to check in with God. These check-ins may simply be a word of thanks for something that happened 10 minutes ago, or I may ask for strength or courage about something that is coming up soon.

[00:05:43] At the end of my day, I take time to read scripture, journal, and pray.

[00:05:45] Lastly, I take a few minutes to pray before I go to bed.

[00:06:43] Be present in your time with Him. In this digital age we are

[00:06:46] constantly bombarded with distractions. It can be tempting to consider time with

[00:06:51] God as a task

[00:06:53] or a to-do, especially over the course of a busy day.

[00:06:57] When you do spend time with God I want to invite you to be present for these

[00:07:01] moments.

[00:07:02] I mentioned a moment ago that a relationship with God certainly shares hearts that would have otherwise been difficult to receive. In today's message we learned of ways that we can become a person of prayer. We discussed that being a person of prayer does not and should not involve any stress or pressure.

[00:08:20] That there are no prescribed rules or regulations.

[00:08:24] That being a person of prayer simply means a difficult thing to do and it has so many benefits. If you want to strengthen your relationship with God and experience all that comes with intimacy with God, I encourage you to make time for you, to give us the tools that we need to remind us when it's time to pray or just take time to check in with you. I just ask Father God that you give us the knowledge and wisdom that we need so that we can be closer to you, that we can feel your presence

[00:11:02] and that we can increase our prayer life day to day.

[00:11:07] We look forward to our time with you, Lord, online at walkinginstepwithgod.org slash messages. God bless you. The greatest way that you can get involved with this ministry is to be involved in the community. Here are four specific ways. Join the discussion by asking and engaging with questions in our community space. Share a prayer on our prayer wall, or take some

[00:12:20] time to pray for others.

[00:12:22] As our ministry impacted your walk with God, then

[00:12:25] share your story and inspire others.

[00:13:23] still before the Lord gives us the time and space for God to comfort us in times of dismay

[00:13:25] and share with him the concerns in our hearts.

[00:13:28] This verse goes so far as to say that we need not worry

[00:13:32] if there is wrongdoing or unfairness at the hands

[00:13:35] of those carrying out evil deeds

[00:13:38] or prospering amid our trials.

[00:13:42] Simply put, we need only be still and trust in God.

[00:14:42] Let's look at one last verse. 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 17.

[00:14:47] Be unceasing and persistent in prayer.

[00:14:53] This verse briefly and simply shares something we can all benefit from.

[00:15:00] The more we pray, the for the opportunity to share encouragement. Here at Walkin' in Step with God, we truly appreciate your support. We are fully committed to Christ in the community. We invite you to join us in fellowship and seek opportunities for fellowship in your

[00:16:22] local community as well.

[00:16:25] Have an amazing week and we will catch you next time.
