Take a listen to part two of this word. It’s time to put a demand on the promises of God by faith!

[00:00:03] Welcome, you are now listening to the Prayer Is Breathing podcast.

[00:00:09] My name is Latoya and I want to thank you for tuning in.

[00:00:13] And last episode, I talked to you about this sermon that I was blessed to preach on New

[00:00:19] Year's Eve and I want to continue where we left off.

[00:00:23] So make sure you go back and listen to part one and then part two will definitely make

[00:00:28] sense.

[00:00:29] So just to catch you up, the Lord had put on my heart the word ascend.

[00:00:34] And so we discussed that word ascend.

[00:00:37] So just to give you a recap, A stood for assessment, taking an assessment of where you are in the

[00:00:43] faith then S stood for seek the Lord because it's time to seek the Lord like never before.

[00:00:49] And C was cast your cares upon the Lord because he cares for you.

[00:00:55] And E was entered into his gates with Thanksgiving.

[00:00:59] And so just talking about being thankful and grateful.

[00:01:02] And we're going to jump right into the letter N and I pray that this blesses you as you

[00:01:06] continue to listen to the word of the Lord that he downloaded into my heart.

[00:01:11] N is for navigate, navigate.

[00:01:15] So don't allow yourself to be stagnant.

[00:01:19] You have to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you.

[00:01:22] Even when storms come your way, you have to determine in your mind that you're not going

[00:01:28] to stay stuck, that you're going to get up, that you're going to move on from here, that

[00:01:32] you're not going to just lay down and die.

[00:01:34] But you have to have the ability to navigate because the Bible says that he that endures

[00:01:40] to the end shall be saved.

[00:01:42] So if you take one hit and you're out, you got to be able to go some rounds in

[00:01:50] the realm of the spirit and you have to be able to navigate.

[00:01:53] Let me tell you what, the Holy Spirit calls you to navigate.

[00:01:57] He will cause you to do things that you could never do in your own strength.

[00:02:02] Things that you would think I can never do that.

[00:02:04] The Holy Spirit will empower you to do that.

[00:02:09] I actually lost my aunt this year.

[00:02:10] My mom's sister, she transitioned.

[00:02:13] It was on Easter Sunday.

[00:02:14] We had a real powerful Easter Sunday service here and I got a text and it just threw

[00:02:20] us all by surprise because we didn't know anything about her being sick.

[00:02:24] And it was just this sudden wave of grief, this sudden unexpected grief.

[00:02:29] Right?

[00:02:30] And I rejoiced in the fact that she was a believer and I'm confident that she went

[00:02:34] into glory and so we don't mourn like unbelievers.

[00:02:37] And so I really found hope in that.

[00:02:38] I really found peace in that and that blessed my soul in it all.

[00:02:41] Right?

[00:02:42] But let me tell you the Holy Spirit's ability to help you to navigate through

[00:02:47] life and navigate through situations is amazing.

[00:02:51] That's what we can see here in praise to midnight because some of us have been through enough

[00:02:56] stuff that we know that God is really good, that we know that the Lord is really who we

[00:03:00] sing about, that we know that He's really the God of war, that we know that He's

[00:03:04] really fought some battles.

[00:03:07] And so you got to excuse us if we want to worship till midnight until 2024 because

[00:03:12] we've seen God move mountains.

[00:03:16] So in the midst of flying to Brooklyn and we had to clean out her apartment and all this

[00:03:19] stuff, I saw the hand of God in that and all of it and all that He did and He's kind.

[00:03:26] And so I just thank God for the ability to navigate because I'm telling you without

[00:03:31] the Holy Spirit I wouldn't have been able to do any of that.

[00:03:34] So I know it wasn't in my own strength.

[00:03:36] And so I thank God for keeping me, for keeping my family and maybe you have your own testimony

[00:03:40] of things that you may have lost this year.

[00:03:43] But I'm just telling you the Lord is good and He's kind and He's gracious.

[00:03:47] And if you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, He will lead you because Jesus said this.

[00:03:54] He said in this world you'll have tribulation.

[00:03:58] I can't preach no other gospel to you that it's all going to be a better roses that everything's

[00:04:02] just going to be perfect and glorious.

[00:04:04] But Jesus said in this world you will have tribulation but He also said be of good

[00:04:09] cheer.

[00:04:10] I've overcome the world.

[00:04:12] It was like if you're a gamer which I'm not, somebody has the cold.

[00:04:16] You're like I can't get past this level.

[00:04:18] Be of good cheer.

[00:04:19] I text you the code.

[00:04:23] Can I just tell y'all real quick?

[00:04:24] It was only a couple years ago that I realized that Mario Brothers were plumbers.

[00:04:29] Did y'all know that?

[00:04:30] No, y'all really everybody in here knew that.

[00:04:33] Okay.

[00:04:34] The kids say yes.

[00:04:35] Yeah, the pipes just threw me for a spin.

[00:04:39] I just I never put two and two together.

[00:04:41] Amen.

[00:04:42] I just thought they was Italian brothers.

[00:04:43] But praise the Lord.

[00:04:44] So you have to navigate to the next level.

[00:04:48] Last part and I'm excited about this and we're going to wrap up and do the games and prizes

[00:04:51] and countdown 2023.

[00:04:55] The D is for demand.

[00:04:58] Demand.

[00:04:59] Guess what?

[00:05:00] You get to put a demand on the promises of God.

[00:05:04] You get to put a demand on everything that God has promised you.

[00:05:08] I don't know about you, but if it's mine, I want it.

[00:05:12] If it's mine and it belongs to me, I'm going to claim it.

[00:05:15] I don't care what it is.

[00:05:16] If it's mine, I want it.

[00:05:17] Look at Joshua chapter 14.

[00:05:20] I love this passage.

[00:05:21] It's so good.

[00:05:23] Joshua chapter 14 because Caleb put a demand on his possession and you're at that round

[00:05:32] where if you didn't die in the devil couldn't take you out of here and you have something

[00:05:36] that God has promised you, why would you not put a demand on it?

[00:05:40] Why would you not stand on the word of God?

[00:05:42] Why would you not go after what God has promised you?

[00:05:47] So in Joshua chapter 14 verse 10 to 14 it says, And now behold, the Lord has kept me

[00:05:53] alive.

[00:05:54] As he said these 45 years ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel

[00:06:01] wandered in the wilderness.

[00:06:04] Caleb had receipts.

[00:06:05] Amen.

[00:06:06] And now here I am this day 85 years old.

[00:06:13] Then I love this part.

[00:06:14] He said, As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me.

[00:06:22] Shout out to you, Caleb.

[00:06:24] He says just as my strength was then so now is my strength for war both for going out

[00:06:33] and for coming in.

[00:06:34] Now therefore give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day.

[00:06:41] I don't think your understanding for you heard in the day how the Anakim were there and

[00:06:46] that the cities were great and fortified.

[00:06:49] It may be that the Lord will be with me and I shall be able to drive them out as

[00:06:53] the Lord said.

[00:06:56] And Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb, the son of Jefune as an inheritance.

[00:07:03] Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb, the son of the Kenan's tonight to this

[00:07:09] day because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

[00:07:12] So here's what happened.

[00:07:13] Caleb passed his promise and 45 years passed and then he finally goes to Joshua at 85

[00:07:20] years old and he's like give me what belongs to me.

[00:07:25] Give me what's mine.

[00:07:26] Give me my possession.

[00:07:28] Give me the land that I fought for and that I earned that belongs to me.

[00:07:32] And he put a demand on his possession and let me tell you what in the kingdom of God you

[00:07:36] have to possess the land and sometimes possessing the land is a little bit aggressive.

[00:07:41] And this is why the Bible tells us and Matthew 11 verse 12 it says, and from the days of

[00:07:47] John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent

[00:07:55] they take it by force.

[00:07:58] Now you got to think about what am I going to take by force since I'm still here anyway.

[00:08:05] Since the Lord didn't let the devil take you out of here since you're still here, what

[00:08:10] are you going to take by force?

[00:08:11] What are you going to put a demand on because guess what?

[00:08:14] God cannot lie.

[00:08:16] And so when Caleb went he said give me the land just like the Lord told me.

[00:08:20] So whatever God spoke to you, whatever God told you, God cannot lie and you can

[00:08:24] put a demand on it.

[00:08:27] And this is what Paul says to Timothy just to close on this.

[00:08:31] And I want to tell you that possession is a charge, it's a command.

[00:08:35] You put a demand on the promises of God and you wage war on the prophetic word of

[00:08:41] the Lord and possess the land.

[00:08:43] All right, so this is what Paul tells Timothy and I'm almost done.

[00:08:47] I'm about to close on this.

[00:08:49] And I love this verse.

[00:08:50] It's just a life verse.

[00:08:51] It's just a theme verse.

[00:08:53] So it says he tells Paul tells Timothy who's like his son in the spirit.

[00:08:58] He says this charge, this charge, this command I commit to you son Timothy according to the

[00:09:07] prophecies previously made concerning you that by them you may wage the good warfare.

[00:09:16] So Paul tells Timothy I urge you, I charge you, I dare you, I command you to wage war

[00:09:23] with the prophecy.

[00:09:24] Don't just sit there and say okay God, it didn't come to pass.

[00:09:28] Wage war with it, fast until you see the breakthrough.

[00:09:30] Believe God until you see all of heaven open up for you and your family and your home

[00:09:35] but you have to make a demand on the promises of God.

[00:09:41] And so it's time to strap up your boots because you made it to the next level.

[00:09:46] And I know you thought that it was over but guess what?

[00:09:48] You're just getting started.

[00:09:49] So you can't be tired and you can't tap yourself out.

[00:09:52] You have to get ready for battle.

[00:09:54] You have to get ready for war.

[00:09:56] Hallelujah.

[00:09:57] So I pray that you are encouraged that you go back and you read that story about Joshua

[00:10:02] and Caleb and them possessing the land.

[00:10:06] And I pray that in this season of your life you know what God has spoken and you wage

[00:10:12] a good warfare and you really stand on the word of the Lord.

[00:10:17] Now is not a time to be shaken but I pray that you would stand and faith and believe

[00:10:22] that God is who he says he is and God cannot lie.

[00:10:26] Father, I thank you for every person that is listening to this podcast.

[00:10:30] I pray, oh God, that you would just bless them indeed.

[00:10:33] I pray for your just glory to be present in their lives and I pray, Father, for

[00:10:38] the tenacity, the strength to endure and to stand on your promises because your

[00:10:44] promises are yes and amen.

[00:10:46] And I pray if anybody does not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior that Lord you

[00:10:52] would just rescue them, that they would invite Jesus into their hearts and confess

[00:10:59] their sins and be washed and born again by the blood of the Lamb.

[00:11:04] And so Lord we just thank you today.

[00:11:05] I pray that you would cause us to go forward and all that you are calling us to do,

[00:11:11] that we would take the land, that we would take the kingdom by force and go after

[00:11:15] your heart and your plan in our lives.

[00:11:18] We love you and we glorify you in Jesus' name. Amen.

[00:11:21] God bless you.

[00:11:22] Thank you so much for listening.
