[00:00:26] Morning Glory, your daily dose of spiritual nourishment and inspiration.

[00:00:32] Welcome to Morning Glory, my name is Maurice and I'm so glad you joined us.

[00:00:37] Today we're going to dive into a topic that resonates with many of us.

[00:00:41] Breaking old habits.

[00:00:43] This can be incredibly challenging but with God's guidance and strength, we can overcome

[00:00:47] and embrace a new way of living.

[00:00:50] The Bible gives us the wisdom to help us move forward and not fall back into old

[00:00:54] patterns.

[00:00:55] Romans 12-2 says, Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing

[00:01:02] of your mind.

[00:01:03] Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing and

[00:01:08] perfect will.

[00:01:09] Philippians 4-13 says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

[00:01:15] Change from old habits requires intentional effort and reliance on God's power.

[00:01:20] By renewing our minds through His Word and seeking His guidance, we can resist the temptation

[00:01:25] to fall back into old patterns and embrace the new life He has for us.

[00:01:29] Let's talk about some practical steps to avoid falling back into those old habits based

[00:01:34] on biblical guidance.

[00:01:36] Number one, pray for strength by asking God for the strength to overcome temptations

[00:01:42] and the wisdom to make better choices.

[00:01:44] Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us with God's power and guidance.

[00:01:49] Number two, surround yourself with positive influences by seeking out a supportive community

[00:01:55] that encourages you in your new walk with Christ.

[00:01:59] Being around others who uplift and inspire you can make a huge difference.

[00:02:04] Three, set boundaries by identifying your triggers and establishing boundaries to avoid

[00:02:10] situations that may lead to old habits.

[00:02:12] It's important to be proactive in protecting your spiritual and emotional health.

[00:02:17] Number four, stay accountable.

[00:02:20] Find a mentor or accountability partner who can support and encourage you.

[00:02:24] Having someone to check in with can help you stay on track and motivate it.

[00:02:28] Five, read and study your Bible.

[00:02:30] Immerse yourself in God's Word to renew your mind and strengthen your resolve.

[00:02:36] The Bible is our source of truth and wisdom.

[00:02:39] Number six, engage in worship by regularly participating in worship to keep your focus on God and His goodness.

[00:02:46] Worship helps us to remember who God is and who we are in Him.

[00:02:50] Number seven, serve others by getting involved in serving others to shift your focus from yourself

[00:02:56] to God's work in the world.

[00:02:58] Serving can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

[00:03:01] Lastly, number eight, reflect in journal.

[00:03:05] Keep a journal of your progress, reflecting on victories and areas needing improvement.

[00:03:10] Writing things down can help you see your growth and stay encouraged.

[00:03:15] Change is not always easy, and we may find ourselves tempted to return to familiar

[00:03:20] and sometimes harmful behaviors.

[00:03:23] But by using these steps, we can break free.

[00:03:26] Remember, transformation involves a continuous process of growth and renewal.

[00:03:31] You are not alone in your struggles.

[00:03:34] God's strength empowers us to overcome.

[00:03:38] Let's pray.

[00:03:40] Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for making us new creations in Christ.

[00:03:45] Help us to leave behind old habits and embrace the new life you have given us.

[00:03:49] Strengthen us with your power and guide us in renewing our minds through your Word.

[00:03:54] Surround us with positive influences and support as we seek to follow your will.

[00:04:00] May we always rely on your strength to overcome our weaknesses

[00:04:03] and live a life that glorifies you.

[00:04:06] In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
