[00:00:02] We Can Change It's Like My Dreams I Reach
[00:00:05] This Pain And Out It's Big
[00:00:07] If You See God If You Have To Speak
[00:00:08] Tell Him It's Crazy
[00:00:10] And You Should Feel My Pain
[00:00:12] Yo, what's going on? This is Pastor Phil from Church on the Block
[00:00:15] and you are joining the phenomenal Amy Williams, the instrumental DJ Rutgers
[00:00:18] and the intellectual insider, Pastor Jay, right here at Church on the Block, 9 a.m.
[00:00:23] every Sunday morning, Channel 140, Series XM. Hang with us.
[00:00:27] Yo, welcome to Church on the Block.
[00:00:29] We are right back here, Channel 140, Holy Culture Radio.
[00:00:33] Church on the Block, real talk about hip-hop, the church in the streets.
[00:00:35] You know what it is. Thank you for listening to us.
[00:00:38] We honor and are grateful for you listening to us.
[00:00:41] We try to be relevant.
[00:00:42] We try to be on point with things that maybe nobody's talking about in the church
[00:00:46] or they are talking about, but not given a different angle,
[00:00:50] not necessarily seeing it in a way that is more holistic,
[00:00:53] more challenging to our faith and being able to kind of walk in that space.
[00:00:59] Because, you know, a walk of faith, man, it's not pretty.
[00:01:02] It's not pretty, you know?
[00:01:04] But yet at the same time, it's hopeful as we walk in that space.
[00:01:08] Man, I'm here with our great host.
[00:01:10] Give it up. What's up, y'all?
[00:01:14] What's up, everybody?
[00:01:15] You know who it is.
[00:01:16] It's Pastor Jay.
[00:01:17] I just want to make one small correction for Pastor Phil today.
[00:01:20] It is the Spin Award winning Holy Culture Radio.
[00:01:24] You know what I mean?
[00:01:26] Spin Award for medium-sized show or station, whatever it is.
[00:01:31] But we won one, y'all.
[00:01:32] I ain't never won no award.
[00:01:33] I just like to say, Mama, we did it.
[00:01:38] Did you win the award?
[00:01:40] Did you win the award?
[00:01:42] Hey, I'm a part of Holy Culture.
[00:01:43] It's like thanking his mama.
[00:01:46] Well, I'd like to thank my mama as well.
[00:01:49] Congratulations, Holy Culture Radio.
[00:01:51] It's your girl, Amy Williams, the Hope dealer to the Dope dealer.
[00:01:55] Glad to be with you.
[00:01:56] Yo, what's good?
[00:01:57] This your boy, DJ Ruckus.
[00:01:59] Happy to be here.
[00:02:00] Yes, Holy Culture won an award.
[00:02:02] Ain't nobody to come to see you, Otis.
[00:02:04] We out here like that.
[00:02:06] We doing it.
[00:02:11] Oh, man.
[00:02:12] Classic.
[00:02:13] Classic.
[00:02:14] Hey, I'm like, if you ain't the kind of Holy Culture.
[00:02:21] If you don't know what the producer dancing all up, I'll have to put you on.
[00:02:24] Oh.
[00:02:26] Then you need to be a Holy Culture.
[00:02:27] Ain't no love for the Holy Culture.
[00:02:32] Yo, this is hilarious.
[00:02:34] This is what we're about, y'all.
[00:02:35] We're probably real human beings in our walk of faith in this piece, man.
[00:02:39] But, you know, there's some things going on in social media, maybe some things you've
[00:02:42] heard of, maybe some things you're already aware of.
[00:02:45] You know, we have a situation happening coming up in November, in a minute, this week, voting.
[00:02:53] And we want people to vote in their conviction.
[00:02:56] But we also want you to vote with logic and really to see what's really going on and how
[00:03:08] it's tearing our country apart with folks who are going back to days gone by and attitudes
[00:03:15] of how they want to see America to be.
[00:03:20] And so we have a clip we're going to play from his young brother who really put both of the
[00:03:26] clips on his IG page.
[00:03:30] And we're going to listen to them.
[00:03:32] We're going to come back and talk about them.
[00:03:33] But we're bold enough to play them because they're out there in the social, they're out
[00:03:37] there publicly.
[00:03:38] We're bold enough to play them because we really think that there needs to be a platform
[00:03:42] where somebody can talk about this in a way that makes sense.
[00:03:44] So check out this conversation that's going on right now.
[00:03:50] Angelico Pastel or whatever.
[00:03:52] Listen, he may get it right on together because messing with the wrong people.
[00:03:56] But it's all good, though, because I'm begging him and correcting him.
[00:04:00] Whoa.
[00:04:01] Check out this clip.
[00:04:02] And by the way, I voted for Kamala Harris.
[00:04:05] Let's go.
[00:04:05] But you got this clip right here.
[00:04:06] Let's go.
[00:04:09] Now I'm going to tell you right now.
[00:04:11] I'm going to be the statement I'm about to make.
[00:04:15] I'm going to call this.
[00:04:16] And I will be called every name under the sun.
[00:04:20] But somebody needs to stand up and speak to the black shirt.
[00:04:30] When the largest Pentecostal, when the largest African-American Pentecostal nomination,
[00:04:35] when that leader stands up and said, I endorse that woman, he was saying, I endorse murder.
[00:04:45] I endorse homosexuality.
[00:04:47] I endorse lesbianism.
[00:04:50] I endorse transgenderism.
[00:04:53] I endorse every evil that hell could possibly bring up to the right.
[00:04:58] That's wrong.
[00:05:01] Vote.
[00:05:05] And the black church votes predominantly for the party that is anti-God.
[00:05:12] What's going on here?
[00:05:16] What's going on?
[00:05:18] See, my statement to them is this.
[00:05:20] We've had them call into the program.
[00:05:22] And I don't like it when you talk about it.
[00:05:24] I say, well, no, the problem is they don't like it because we're stepping on their toes.
[00:05:29] Hello?
[00:05:29] But I guarantee you, if 1860 was today, they wouldn't say a word about preachers preaching against slavery.
[00:05:45] They would trumpet it.
[00:05:47] And they should.
[00:05:48] So then why will not the African-American church stand up for righteousness and stand up for the word of God?
[00:06:01] Come on, church.
[00:06:03] Come on.
[00:06:04] You can call me a racist.
[00:06:05] You can call me every name under the sun.
[00:06:08] But I am right.
[00:06:09] I come against you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:06:13] You don't vote for somebody just because mama voted or daddy voted for them.
[00:06:18] But you vote according to the word of God.
[00:06:22] Come out from among them and be ye separate, says the Lord of Hope.
[00:06:28] If you are a Christian, start acting like a Christian.
[00:06:32] If you claim to be holy and righteous, start acting holy and start acting righteous.
[00:06:43] Now, I will be called a racist.
[00:06:46] I will be called every name under the sun because I get their emails.
[00:06:50] But I want to serve notice on the devil right now.
[00:06:53] I like what old Uncle Bud Robinson, the Nazarene of angels.
[00:06:57] He said, as long as I got fish, I'm going to hit the devil.
[00:07:01] When I can't pick up my hands anymore, I'll use my feet and I'll kick the devil.
[00:07:06] And when I can't kick him and hit him anymore, I'll bite him.
[00:07:09] And when I don't have any teeth left, I'll gum the devil to death.
[00:07:14] I will not be silent.
[00:07:18] I will not shut up.
[00:07:21] This country is too great.
[00:07:23] This country is too important.
[00:07:25] This country was birthed by God.
[00:07:28] White churches set the stage for Jim and Jane Crow segregation.
[00:07:40] And y'all, they have children who are still doing the dirty deed of toxic theology.
[00:07:47] I saw yesterday that one Donnie Swaggart, who is the son of Jimmy Swaggart, had the nerve from his perch of privilege and prejudice to stand up on a Sunday and call out the black church.
[00:08:03] Wait, what?
[00:08:03] He called out the black church.
[00:08:06] He said, when you support her.
[00:08:08] Didn't even call Kamala Harris by name, but said, when you supporting sin and evil kinds of stuff.
[00:08:20] Y'all, I'm tripping as this white boy is calling out the black church.
[00:08:25] Now, let me park here parenthetically and hope that old Donnie tunes in.
[00:08:31] Donnie, come here for just a second.
[00:08:33] Because first of all, the fact that there is a black church is a judgment on white Christianity.
[00:08:40] Because there would be no black church had the white church not been more white than they are a church.
[00:08:49] Oh, I'm on one tonight.
[00:08:51] I'm letting y'all know that right now.
[00:08:53] And Donnie, my sisters and brothers, had the nerve to call out the black church because in his mindset, we're supporting Kamala Harris.
[00:09:03] While the white church is supporting Agent Orange.
[00:09:07] Because somehow Agent Orange, the cap hit that because they're God.
[00:09:13] My God is the God who showed up in Exodus on the side of the oppressed.
[00:09:19] My God is the God of divine justice.
[00:09:23] My God is the God that so loved when he gave his only begotten son.
[00:09:29] You see, God loves the world.
[00:09:31] I guess who's in that world?
[00:09:34] Palestinians are in that world.
[00:09:37] We're in that world.
[00:09:38] Haitians are in that world.
[00:09:41] Ye folk are in that world.
[00:09:43] The LGBTQIA community is in that world.
[00:09:47] God so loved the world.
[00:09:50] And if you don't love the world like God loves the world, to hell with you, Donnie.
[00:09:56] Yo.
[00:09:58] Well, we got a hot conversation from these folks down here.
[00:10:04] Woo!
[00:10:06] Listen to all breathe.
[00:10:08] Woo!
[00:10:10] You listen to Church on the Block, y'all.
[00:10:12] Real talk about hip-hop, the church on the streets.
[00:10:13] Even though you may have ran into the station and were like, what is this preacher doing?
[00:10:18] This is the show.
[00:10:19] Talk about what these preachers were talking about.
[00:10:21] Just so you know.
[00:10:22] Just so you know.
[00:10:25] Wow.
[00:10:27] Wow.
[00:10:28] Wow.
[00:10:31] Just so y'all know.
[00:10:32] Where do you even start?
[00:10:34] I did not hear this prior to this.
[00:10:36] So I wish I was a bit more.
[00:10:39] I'm processing, but wow.
[00:10:42] Wow.
[00:10:43] Wow.
[00:10:43] I mean, first of all, I think that there is, you know, as people can, you know, say what
[00:10:52] they're going to say in their pulpit and call people out and do whatever.
[00:10:56] But man, you got to be honest.
[00:10:58] You got to be honest about your stuff.
[00:11:03] The same, you can't just take a position that you're high and mighty.
[00:11:08] And you're taking a position with a particular candidate that has, that if this candidate was
[00:11:17] a Republican, he was a black Republican, and was doing the same thing that this white Republican
[00:11:24] would these white churches be like, this is the party of God when you've got a man with
[00:11:30] 40, 30 some odd counts of criminal offenses.
[00:11:36] We're going to support this cat with 20 some odd women he's touched and done this and that.
[00:11:42] We're going to support this cat.
[00:11:43] What happened to a person of integrity in those spaces?
[00:11:47] You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:47] Man, first of all, in Rutgers, we all talk about, we're tired, and all of us really, of
[00:11:53] the two-party system.
[00:11:54] We need a multi-party system that can be the voice of the tone of this.
[00:11:59] So I'm going to stop right there.
[00:12:01] I'm going to put a pin right there.
[00:12:03] But the way in which, how I was as a whole totally offended, I would have just, somebody
[00:12:12] invited me to Swagger's Church.
[00:12:13] Okay, I'm walking right out that point.
[00:12:16] I wouldn't have.
[00:12:18] Nobody going to invite me anyway, but I mean, I would have been.
[00:12:20] Exactly.
[00:12:24] Yeah.
[00:12:25] I think we all would have been lined up with you.
[00:12:29] Yeah.
[00:12:29] We'd have been walking right out, bro.
[00:12:31] No, I'm going to walk out.
[00:12:32] I might have to, I might have to stand up and say something.
[00:12:36] When we walk, when we walk down for.
[00:12:39] Because he, when you're walking out, Terrence getting carried out.
[00:12:41] Hey, carry me out.
[00:12:42] Carry me out.
[00:12:43] Because he was brave enough to stand up in that pulpit and talk about the black church
[00:12:48] and black people like he know us.
[00:12:50] Like he know what we've been through.
[00:12:52] Like he know, he don't know nothing.
[00:12:54] I told y'all, do y'all really want me to tell you how I feel?
[00:12:58] Let's go.
[00:12:59] Let's go.
[00:13:00] Man, man, when I saw that boy, I was so upset.
[00:13:04] I wish I could call this dude up.
[00:13:06] And so I could tell him.
[00:13:08] How dare you?
[00:13:08] I mean, and I don't know the black pastor's name, but I think he did.
[00:13:13] He did a phenomenal job of responding.
[00:13:15] He probably did way better than me.
[00:13:19] But when I hear people talk like that about the black, black communities or migrants, my
[00:13:24] first thing is you're telling us we're ungodly because we choose to vote.
[00:13:28] Now, as you heard Phil say, I'm the person who's running around saying it's time for different
[00:13:35] parties.
[00:13:36] I'm tired of the two party systems.
[00:13:37] I'm not going to sit and tell you who to vote for, but I am going to sit and tell you this.
[00:13:41] If you want to vote for this dude, Trump, I got judgments.
[00:13:45] I got major judgments.
[00:13:47] Because I'm sitting back saying to myself as a Christian man, as a godly man, how can I
[00:13:52] vote for any type of man that I don't deem is fit mentally, spiritually, physically,
[00:13:59] none of that.
[00:14:01] And so when I hear this dude up there talking about that the black church don't believe
[00:14:06] what we believe and we're not godly, I'm like, bro, all of the crap that y'all don't put
[00:14:10] people through in this world.
[00:14:12] I'm not just even talking about the white evangelical church.
[00:14:15] All white churches, Catholic churches, every last church that white people have run and
[00:14:19] all of the evil things that they have done to people.
[00:14:22] Man, my skin gets to boiling.
[00:14:25] It's part of the reason I don't even want to call myself a Christian that I say I'm a
[00:14:29] Christ follower because I was sitting around saying to myself, why would I want to call
[00:14:33] myself a Christian when there's a bunch of people sitting around the church who don't
[00:14:36] know how to love God, who don't know how to love people, who don't know how to remember
[00:14:40] the poor, who don't know how to remember the widow.
[00:14:42] Right.
[00:14:44] But your main issues are the LGBT community who you're supposed to love regardless, but
[00:14:51] you don't care about nobody else.
[00:14:53] You don't care about the fact that half of the pastors in your big churches in your worlds
[00:14:59] are falling to adultery and all other types of sin.
[00:15:04] You want to send gay people to those camps, but some of y'all are in the closet yourself.
[00:15:10] Right.
[00:15:11] Man, like I say, he got my skin.
[00:15:14] He got my blood boiling when I was listening to that.
[00:15:18] Man.
[00:15:20] Yeah.
[00:15:20] It's good stuff, man.
[00:15:21] I'm sorry, I repeat, but I'm ruckus today.
[00:15:26] Yeah.
[00:15:27] No, and that's what we love and that's what we want to hear.
[00:15:29] I think one of the things that concerns me is the assumption that every black church and
[00:15:37] black people are voting for Kamala simply because she's black.
[00:15:41] Right.
[00:15:42] Monolith.
[00:15:42] Like, give us some more credit than that.
[00:15:46] We're not voting for her because she's a woman of color.
[00:15:50] Mm-hmm.
[00:15:50] Right?
[00:15:51] There's a lot more to it, but he's making the assumption that every single black church
[00:15:56] is supporting her as a candidate.
[00:15:59] Right.
[00:15:59] Because of the color of her skin?
[00:16:01] Right.
[00:16:02] Like, it's deeper than that.
[00:16:05] And you're making a real sweeping generalization there.
[00:16:08] And the reality is there's no candidate on the planet since we've been able to vote that
[00:16:14] we agree with every freaking thing that they're about.
[00:16:17] Right?
[00:16:18] Right.
[00:16:18] I mean, and even if you got the best follower of Christ president, there's going to be something
[00:16:25] that's going to be like, you know what?
[00:16:27] I don't agree with that part right there.
[00:16:28] I mean, so I say that in light of what is the deeper conviction that we have, right?
[00:16:35] It definitely ain't to vote for Agent Orange.
[00:16:39] My man said that the reality of how this man's evil just spews out of his mouth like he is
[00:16:50] not, like he is not, like nothing.
[00:16:56] Like that's not, and then they get the applause.
[00:16:59] Like, this is just what you should say.
[00:17:03] And we value, it's just crushing humanity, crushing people.
[00:17:09] And it's, so this person's going to determine laws for me and determine a decision or influence
[00:17:17] Congress, at least in some regards, you know?
[00:17:19] Yeah.
[00:17:21] Yeah.
[00:17:21] Yeah.
[00:17:22] I was just saying mine quickly, you know, like my issue, my issue with the conversation
[00:17:28] was just purely that what he's doing is he's painting with a wide, like a wide brush saying
[00:17:36] that everybody who is a part of a certain component of church, which I think Freddie Haynes did a
[00:17:43] great job already explaining why we even have a black church.
[00:17:45] That was my first problem.
[00:17:46] Problem.
[00:17:48] So he's painting with this broad brush.
[00:17:50] And what he's doing is he's doing the exact same thing that they hate.
[00:17:55] Like when, when everybody is put into a, into a, a category that we all agree with something.
[00:18:02] Nobody's voting for a candidate because they agree with the entirety of their platform ever.
[00:18:07] That's not what we do.
[00:18:08] We listen to the platform.
[00:18:10] We look at the person and the individual, and then we make decisions on how we are going
[00:18:16] to engage with the political system.
[00:18:18] Once that person is in office, because they are not in charge.
[00:18:22] They work for us.
[00:18:24] That's what we put them in for.
[00:18:25] The question is who's going to be willing to listen to us.
[00:18:29] Who do we think actually has the entire country's best interest at heart?
[00:18:34] And therefore when they get in, we could actually be able to dialogue with them and maybe get
[00:18:39] them to shift or see things in a different way.
[00:18:42] If we don't agree, man, if you look at the candidates, it's clear that Kamala is far
[00:18:47] more reasonable than Donald Trump is.
[00:18:50] And that is what I think he's missing.
[00:18:53] And so there's a lot more, but yeah, stay right there, man.
[00:18:57] Church on the block.
[00:18:58] We'll be right back.
[00:19:08] Church on the block.
[00:19:09] Real talk about hip hop, the church in the streets, man.
[00:19:12] And Pastor Jay was laying out some deep insights.
[00:19:16] We want to come back to that.
[00:19:17] Jay, you want to unpack some more of that, what you were talking about?
[00:19:20] Sure.
[00:19:21] Yeah.
[00:19:21] I always tell people like, it's not my belief that we vote and then that's the end of our
[00:19:28] responsibility civically.
[00:19:30] Actually, that's the beginning of our responsibility.
[00:19:33] So whoever gets in the office, our responsibility now is to hold them accountable to the promises
[00:19:38] that they made on the campaign trail, as well as if we don't agree with something in their
[00:19:44] stance, then we now are called to come dialogue, protest, whatever it is to get their attention.
[00:19:50] And the question becomes, which of the candidates is actually more reasonable and willing, you
[00:19:55] think, to be able to hear when you come against them so that there might actually be some dialogue?
[00:20:02] And I was just saying it's clear, look at the two candidates, which ones are more reasonable?
[00:20:06] Kamala's far more reasonable than Donald Trump, right?
[00:20:10] And so if I'm going to be civically engaged moving forward, then I need somebody who's actually
[00:20:15] going to, I feel like I have a chance to be civically engaged with, who doesn't already
[00:20:19] feel like they can just do whatever they want.
[00:20:21] So with doing them, you try to make a legit, organized protest, shut things down, look at
[00:20:29] those ratchet people.
[00:20:31] They are not American.
[00:20:32] It's going to come across a straight attack.
[00:20:36] Like, no, we got rights.
[00:20:37] We want better food in our communities.
[00:20:39] We want better grocery stores.
[00:20:41] We want better valuation on the meat instead of people getting sick, all kinds of crap.
[00:20:45] Whatever it's going to be, right?
[00:20:47] Michael Moore on the movie Sicko, he interviewed a prime minister in London and he said, you
[00:20:53] know, why do your people always protest all the time?
[00:20:55] This former prime minister.
[00:20:56] And he said, man, our people know that they don't work for the government.
[00:21:00] The government works for them.
[00:21:02] And so they're going to stand out there and protest until y'all get it right.
[00:21:05] And so whoever's in office, we have to understand it's the people.
[00:21:09] It's the power to the people.
[00:21:10] And then this is what this prime minister said.
[00:21:12] It just messed me up because he's talking about the hood.
[00:21:14] He said, when you keep people broke, uneducated and unhealthy, you can control them.
[00:21:20] I said, dang, that's my, you know what?
[00:21:24] That's my next.
[00:21:26] You're not going to protest because you ain't got enough sick leave or you got a job, ain't
[00:21:30] got no sick leave.
[00:21:30] So you can't go out.
[00:21:31] I can go out there on Tuesday when I ain't got no work.
[00:21:34] I ain't got no, I'm off.
[00:21:36] So now it becomes no, no bus boycott.
[00:21:39] Were you out there for 300 and some odd days?
[00:21:43] Because everybody, so all of that, all that reality, right?
[00:21:47] Well, if we can stand on some real business and, and, and, and hold people accountable,
[00:21:51] but you're right.
[00:21:53] Soon as we come up to one candidate, they're going to cuss us out, talk about, oh, you come
[00:21:57] from a garbage city, a murder capital, Chicago.
[00:21:59] That's why you, no, we got real issues.
[00:22:03] Oh, you come from, we, we call Baltimore some kind of bogus city where, you know, Puerto
[00:22:08] Rico, whatever he's going to say, we got to one candidate.
[00:22:12] The hope is there that they have a pattern of listening before, right.
[00:22:17] And to sway them or even not to sway them, but to put laws in place by pressing our other
[00:22:22] congressmen, other people in the Senate, in the state.
[00:22:25] So now it's like, okay, the, the people have moved and, and yeah, the, the, the, the non
[00:22:33] humanness of it all.
[00:22:34] I don't even know the right word of it.
[00:22:35] You know, it's not, that's the part that's like, are we in another planet?
[00:22:39] Who's, who's, who's talking this way, man?
[00:22:42] You know, now we didn't agree with everything that president Obama did, but you knew he going
[00:22:47] to have a ebb and flow and a sway of respecting humanity, respecting people.
[00:22:53] Um, agreeing to disagree and having a level of humanity in the, in the dialogue of some
[00:22:59] of that.
[00:22:59] So then you look at other countries who look at us, who hate us.
[00:23:02] They look at a cat that'd be like, okay, well, we, we, we can't get with dude.
[00:23:07] Cause he going to finesse something and get, we, we can get with this guy and rah, rah,
[00:23:12] something up to start all those kinds of things that keep us, you know, even safe from other
[00:23:17] folks who, who hate, uh, hate the U S this cat will rah, rah, those cats up.
[00:23:21] You know, it is, it is us as believers, um, as followers of Christ to step into spaces,
[00:23:29] man, as much as we can, whatever, and how we can do it.
[00:23:33] I know we got a lot of things going on.
[00:23:35] You can't always be on the, uh, uh, you know, I'm going to be on every phone call with every,
[00:23:41] uh, particular, uh, situation, um, you know, with different, uh, political things, but maybe
[00:23:48] you can focus on two things, these two things right here, I'm going to go off on and make
[00:23:53] sure I get people better policing, boom, all the way up to the white house.
[00:23:57] I mean, there was a woman who, whose son was killed.
[00:23:59] I think it was.
[00:24:00] And she, now she's a Congresswoman, but she started fighting for, she wasn't even in, in
[00:24:05] politics.
[00:24:06] I got a chance to meet her, uh, in DC.
[00:24:08] And now she's up there, you know, pushing, uh, legislation for safer gun, uh, for, for
[00:24:15] gun stuff in the schools, for folks to have gun drills or whatever.
[00:24:18] And she's pushing for different, uh, legal things.
[00:24:20] So, so communities can be safe, uh, in those spaces like that, man, but she, she did something
[00:24:25] about is what I'm saying.
[00:24:26] I'm going to make sure I'm going to do something about it.
[00:24:29] That's right.
[00:24:30] Yeah.
[00:24:31] Yeah.
[00:24:31] Yeah.
[00:24:33] That's good.
[00:24:33] I just, I just really want people to hear, cause I think like even, you know, listening
[00:24:40] to, to, to Dr.
[00:24:41] Dr.
[00:24:42] Freddie Hayes and, and, uh, and, uh, and, and what's his name again?
[00:24:46] Swagger.
[00:24:48] Swagger.
[00:24:49] I think.
[00:24:50] Donnie.
[00:24:51] Donnie.
[00:24:51] It's not even.
[00:24:52] Yeah.
[00:24:52] Donnie.
[00:24:53] Thank you.
[00:24:53] Um, Pastor Donnie.
[00:24:54] Like the, the, the key for me here is not even us figuring out or trying to get people
[00:25:00] to pick sides is getting to help people realize first and foremost, the, the deeper things
[00:25:07] of God.
[00:25:08] Right.
[00:25:08] Cause you can't, if you try to pick a side, you'll always be on the wrong side.
[00:25:13] Like there is no side that's God's side in politics.
[00:25:16] Right.
[00:25:16] It just don't work that way.
[00:25:17] But he says something like vote, vote like God will vote or, or something he said at the
[00:25:22] end.
[00:25:23] Oh.
[00:25:23] And then the thing he said that blew me away was this country was found by God.
[00:25:27] Oh my goodness.
[00:25:28] And that, that type of stuff is just like, it's blasphemy.
[00:25:32] Stop it.
[00:25:33] Like this country was not founded by God or birthed by God.
[00:25:38] Man, it was birthed by oppression, stealing people's lands, stealing people from other countries.
[00:25:43] Like stop.
[00:25:44] It was birthed by sin.
[00:25:45] Just like pretty much everything else do.
[00:25:48] So let's stop with that.
[00:25:49] But that pick inside is trying to get to a point to where we're engaged, active, and try
[00:25:55] to get as close as we possibly can to the heart of God through the way we engage, you know,
[00:26:00] politically.
[00:26:01] But you'll never get it by picking a side.
[00:26:03] You know what I mean?
[00:26:04] But how can you pick a side that dehumanizes people?
[00:26:08] Yeah.
[00:26:09] Right.
[00:26:10] Even Trump's aide, I think his name was Stephen Miller, was like, America is for Americans
[00:26:17] and Americans only.
[00:26:20] What does that mean?
[00:26:22] What does that mean?
[00:26:24] Yes.
[00:26:24] Exactly.
[00:26:25] I thought we were the melting pot.
[00:26:29] When I was in school, we were the melting pot, right?
[00:26:32] And people were welcome.
[00:26:34] And the Statue of Liberty meant something for those that were coming to our country.
[00:26:39] But now you're trying to say, like, just the dehumanizing of people, the comedian that said
[00:26:45] all those things about Latinos and about Puerto Rico and about carving watermelons, like, and
[00:26:52] they vetted that speech.
[00:26:54] And from my understanding, they took some stuff out of that speech.
[00:26:58] Wow.
[00:26:58] So they knew what they were putting in front of the crowd.
[00:27:03] How can you pick a side that dehumanizes people?
[00:27:07] That's not God.
[00:27:09] Yeah, not at all.
[00:27:10] And I don't understand how folks in crowds can just stand there.
[00:27:15] Half y'all are there or more been to Puerto Rico.
[00:27:17] Okay?
[00:27:18] You've been to Puerto Rico.
[00:27:19] Right.
[00:27:19] We think they got to Puerto Rico.
[00:27:21] We're going to, oh.
[00:27:22] And all the things they're going, oh, we're going to, oh, we're going to get it, bitch.
[00:27:25] Whatever.
[00:27:26] You know?
[00:27:27] I mean, they there.
[00:27:30] How can you stand there and somebody not say, that's not right, sir?
[00:27:37] Blah, blah, blah.
[00:27:38] I mean, so if that's your party, you're going to be with them.
[00:27:41] You can't say, hey, my party's wrong.
[00:27:44] That's not wrong with my, this is wrong.
[00:27:46] That's the part that frustrates me when we go in.
[00:27:48] You know, it's not, it's not sometimes what people say about you, what people, you know,
[00:27:53] don't say when folks are saying something crazy.
[00:27:56] Like, why aren't you saying nothing?
[00:27:58] You didn't see that?
[00:27:59] I saw that.
[00:28:00] And that's why I mean.
[00:28:01] And that's the part that even concerns me even more.
[00:28:03] Right?
[00:28:03] You can lean in the direction, whatever your thing is.
[00:28:07] Because, yeah, picking a side is when you don't hold people accountable for when you
[00:28:12] don't agree or when they're wrong.
[00:28:15] Right?
[00:28:15] You just go with anything they say and agree with it.
[00:28:19] Yeah.
[00:28:19] That's nonsense.
[00:28:21] And that's why, no, you can't pick a side that dehumanizes people.
[00:28:24] You know?
[00:28:25] Like, you don't do that at all.
[00:28:27] You also don't pick a side that just believes that people should be able to do whatever they
[00:28:33] want to do and not care.
[00:28:34] Right?
[00:28:35] We don't pick sides.
[00:28:38] Right?
[00:28:38] We speak truth.
[00:28:40] Then truth is probably, is a narrow, the Bible calls it narrow.
[00:28:43] Right?
[00:28:44] Like, wide is the road that leads to destruction.
[00:28:47] Narrow is the path that leads to that.
[00:28:48] That's truthful.
[00:28:49] So we probably won't fit anywhere.
[00:28:51] Yeah.
[00:28:52] Because we too narrow.
[00:28:53] You know what I'm saying?
[00:28:54] Right.
[00:28:55] Exactly.
[00:28:55] You know what I'll say too, Jay?
[00:28:57] You know, one of the things I've sat and talked with my friends who are supporters of Trump.
[00:29:03] Right?
[00:29:04] I'll ask them.
[00:29:05] I'm like, would you let this mandate your daughter?
[00:29:07] They get stomped.
[00:29:09] And these, like, as a man, as a man who strives to be a healthy man in a society where I want
[00:29:17] women to feel safe, where I want kids to feel safe, as a man who's doing my own work
[00:29:23] so that I can be a godly man, when I look at this man who's running for president, he's
[00:29:28] not a man that I would ever leave in a room with my family.
[00:29:32] That's right.
[00:29:32] Yeah.
[00:29:33] That's right.
[00:29:33] I don't even want him around.
[00:29:34] I wouldn't want my family around him, even when I'm there, because I wouldn't trust him.
[00:29:40] But to me, the stuff that he spews out is hate and it's toxic.
[00:29:44] Yeah.
[00:29:45] And I'm not even talking policies.
[00:29:47] You take policies up out of, because that's politics.
[00:29:50] Right.
[00:29:50] But you talk about the stuff that this man says, and I'm just, I cringe as a man when
[00:29:55] I hear the stuff that he says to people, how he talks to people, how he treats people.
[00:30:00] He degrades people.
[00:30:03] And I'm just, I'm just, I'm shocked when I see other people stepping up like, oh yeah,
[00:30:10] I can vote for him.
[00:30:11] And I'm just like, I don't understand it.
[00:30:13] I don't understand it.
[00:30:14] And I was bleeding in the church with Swaggart saying the things that he said.
[00:30:21] Right.
[00:30:24] And, and he's okay with people calling him a racist.
[00:30:29] He said, you can call me a racist.
[00:30:30] You can call me whatever you want to.
[00:30:32] I'm standing on truth.
[00:30:34] What truth?
[00:30:35] Right.
[00:30:36] I can hear any truth in what he said.
[00:30:39] I called him another name, a clown, when I first heard it.
[00:30:41] And he said, he said, they don't call me every name under the sun.
[00:30:45] Well, it was at night when I saw it and I called you a clown under the moon.
[00:30:51] And that's why, that's why my conversation, because people try to avoid that conversation
[00:30:56] you bringing up, Ruckus.
[00:30:57] Yeah.
[00:30:58] The conversation about the person and the integrity of the person.
[00:31:01] Man.
[00:31:01] And they try to jump to, you know, values and, and, and party politics.
[00:31:07] They try to jump to that.
[00:31:08] And my point is this, you can't even use that.
[00:31:10] And that's what I'm trying to get to.
[00:31:13] Nobody.
[00:31:13] I've heard so many folks who currently call themselves a Republican say, I'm not voting
[00:31:19] for Donald Trump.
[00:31:20] I'm voting for what the Republican party stands for.
[00:31:22] And I go, but he's going to be the representative of that.
[00:31:26] Like you don't get to separate the two.
[00:31:29] And then I go, is the Republican party completely correct?
[00:31:33] Can we talk about some of the things?
[00:31:34] Just like, I don't believe the democratic party is completely correct.
[00:31:38] Cause neither one really care about poor people.
[00:31:41] Neither one.
[00:31:42] Right.
[00:31:44] Like I'm not, I'm not, I'm not a Democrat.
[00:31:47] I'm not a Republican.
[00:31:47] I'm trying to pick the person I think that I can get to and speak to about what we're doing
[00:31:53] in North Longdale and what we're doing in little village and what we're doing in our neighborhoods
[00:31:58] over here and that they will be able to listen, come visit, see it, make moves.
[00:32:03] That's why I value Barack Obama.
[00:32:04] Yeah.
[00:32:05] Not because of his politics and all that, but that man came to our blocks, saw what was
[00:32:11] happening over here and invested in the work because he believed that people doing work
[00:32:16] on the ground to make real change.
[00:32:18] All I'm saying is who's going to do that.
[00:32:20] Right.
[00:32:20] And I'm totally with you on that, bro.
[00:32:22] I'm putting my cards on Kamala.
[00:32:25] I saw a quote on Facebook the other day that said, it's no longer about his character.
[00:32:30] It's about ours.
[00:32:34] That's right.
[00:32:35] That's true.
[00:32:36] That is no longer just about him.
[00:32:39] But those of us that are putting him in office or would put him in office, what does that
[00:32:46] say about your character?
[00:32:48] That's true.
[00:32:49] Word there.
[00:32:50] That's true.
[00:32:50] That's heavy.
[00:32:51] I know.
[00:32:52] It's deep.
[00:32:53] Yeah.
[00:32:53] Yeah, man.
[00:32:54] It really is.
[00:32:56] I mean, so God forbid that he happened to be president.
[00:33:04] Who going with me to Ghana?
[00:33:06] Like, it's like a, it's like, it's like, I might just try Canada first because it's closer.
[00:33:13] It's closer.
[00:33:14] I was thinking Puerto Rico, but the United States owns Puerto Rico.
[00:33:18] Exactly.
[00:33:20] That wouldn't be any better.
[00:33:22] Yeah.
[00:33:23] But even that, right.
[00:33:24] Let's talk about that.
[00:33:25] How America owns Puerto Rico and the shape that if Puerto Rico is a big heap of trash,
[00:33:31] it is America's fault.
[00:33:32] That is a big heap of trash because it is America's responsibility to take care of all
[00:33:37] of their territories and all of their people.
[00:33:39] So America has failed the Boricuas.
[00:33:42] America has failed that island, that beautiful island that I love, the food that I love, and
[00:33:47] the people that I love that's on there.
[00:33:49] America has failed them.
[00:33:50] And if you are voting for the, what you call them, Agent Orange, you are failing these people
[00:33:57] too.
[00:33:58] Right.
[00:33:58] Exactly.
[00:33:59] Right.
[00:33:59] Right.
[00:34:00] And it does show how, and how thin our character was from the beginning.
[00:34:08] If it's that, if it takes a blink, that quick of a candidate from all that happened with eight
[00:34:16] years with President Obama, people already in the cut, already in the cut thinking this
[00:34:21] way.
[00:34:21] Now they got permission to not be in the cut.
[00:34:24] And this is how folks have always been.
[00:34:26] And their character's always been this way.
[00:34:29] And all it takes is just this one person to do, if it was a, if it was a, if it was a white
[00:34:37] woman on January the 6th going crazy.
[00:34:42] I mean, oh, maybe they wouldn't have minded.
[00:34:44] I don't, I just don't know anymore.
[00:34:46] I don't even know.
[00:34:47] I don't even know.
[00:34:49] Yeah.
[00:34:50] You know?
[00:34:51] It's crazy.
[00:34:52] Tuesday's going to be very interesting, nerve wracking.
[00:34:56] And right.
[00:34:57] Y'all haven't, anybody have a watch party?
[00:34:59] If you're having a watch party after this show.
[00:35:02] I don't think I want to watch.
[00:35:05] I think I want to just go to bed and wake up the next morning and see what happens.
[00:35:10] I know some folks who are having some, and I know it's a lot of mental issues with folks
[00:35:15] watching this whole situation for real.
[00:35:17] Folks have gotten damaged from his run before.
[00:35:22] And now it's like, this is fearful for me.
[00:35:27] It's like, I'm, I'm fearful of this abusive national relationship here.
[00:35:32] And I don't know what to do.
[00:35:34] There's a big corporate organization.
[00:35:36] African-American woman owns this, that she works with C-level people and CEOs.
[00:35:42] She's saying, I got packages for you to leave the country.
[00:35:47] Packages.
[00:35:48] This amount of money.
[00:35:48] Wow.
[00:35:49] When we get the whole family out, you will be in Brazil in the next 20 days.
[00:35:54] Church on the Block.
[00:35:55] We're going to talk about the church in the streets.
[00:35:57] We'll be right back.
[00:36:10] Yo, Church on the Block.
[00:36:11] We're right back with you, man.
[00:36:13] We are in it today.
[00:36:15] We're in it today.
[00:36:16] People are going to be voting on Tuesday, man.
[00:36:19] We pray that you vote in a way that is of the character that we need in this country in such a way that is represents all the people, not some of the people, not the people trying to kick out other people, not people calling people, you know, about their country, trashy countries.
[00:36:39] And we need integrity back in our political system.
[00:36:43] And the people of God, the followers of Christ, have to be the ones or should be the ones to lead the way in some of that regards, right?
[00:36:49] In such a way where, no, you're going to agree with what every candidate says, but you should be able to hold down some core values of who we are as human beings and being able to treat people as such.
[00:37:04] And I think all of this political stuff gives way to bad theology.
[00:37:10] We're going to check out this one young cat spitting some nonsense.
[00:37:14] And I think it just ripples into what we're dealing with, even politically.
[00:37:21] Check this out.
[00:37:22] This is Keon Henderson talking about God didn't really come for the poll people and what good is it to serve the poll people?
[00:37:31] Check him out.
[00:37:31] Is that anytime a person is in need, y'all go to running and dropping money.
[00:37:35] But let me tell you something, the poor will be with you always.
[00:37:38] And there is no blessing connected to blessing the poor other than getting back what you do to them.
[00:37:45] But multiplication is segregated for tithes and offering.
[00:37:51] When you give to the poor, the only thing you do is help them, but you don't help yourself.
[00:37:57] So when you give a dollar to somebody on the street talking about, I did my job, God like, thank you, but it ain't going to help you.
[00:38:03] Read your Bible.
[00:38:10] Charity does not bring.
[00:38:12] The tithe does that.
[00:38:16] Matter of fact, you don't believe me.
[00:38:17] Guess what I'm going to do?
[00:38:17] I'm going to preach on it.
[00:38:20] Man, I wish you would preach on it because I don't know what you're talking about right there at all.
[00:38:24] You know, you need to read the text again.
[00:38:29] Because God, Christ, came from heaven to earth to the poor people.
[00:38:35] He came to the projects.
[00:38:37] If that's not the example, that's the example right there.
[00:38:40] I mean, that example right there is enough.
[00:38:47] Go ahead, Jay.
[00:38:48] Jay got the heat lit at that heavy sock.
[00:38:51] I mean, Pastor Jay is ready.
[00:38:54] Hey, hey, he fired up like about this how I was about the other stuff.
[00:38:59] Yeah.
[00:39:00] Let me hold your wick real quick.
[00:39:03] Hold the wick before we keep it.
[00:39:05] How can you be in a church saying amen to this nonsense?
[00:39:09] That's what I understand.
[00:39:10] How can you just be co-signed?
[00:39:12] You ain't reading nothing.
[00:39:14] You trying to get in favor with a man maybe by saying some amen or favor with the deacons or whatever you're trying to do, which is bogus.
[00:39:22] I don't understand how that can be the case.
[00:39:25] How you can just do it.
[00:39:26] Jay, drop the bomb, baby.
[00:39:27] Drop the word off.
[00:39:30] So I hate, first and foremost, when pastors just go on a tangent and they have not read the context of a passage they're quoting.
[00:39:40] It pisses me off.
[00:39:42] Right.
[00:39:42] So he quotes from Matthew 26 when Jesus says, the poor will be with you always, but you will not always have me.
[00:39:49] And he says that in the context of talking with Mary and all of them.
[00:39:55] We'll get to that.
[00:39:56] But he's quoting like Jesus always is doing from the Old Testament in Deuteronomy chapter 15 verses 10 and 11, which is all about canceling debts, the year of canceling debts for the children of Israel.
[00:40:10] And when he says that the poor will be with you always, listen to what he says, give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart.
[00:40:19] Because of this, the Lord, your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand on.
[00:40:25] There will always be poor people in the land.
[00:40:28] Therefore, I command you to be open handed towards your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.
[00:40:35] It literally says the opposite of what he's saying.
[00:40:39] Right.
[00:40:39] It literally says the opposite.
[00:40:42] He's going to always be poor and needy because you are not taking care of the poor in your land.
[00:40:47] Right.
[00:40:48] It just makes me so upset.
[00:40:51] And then we so ignorant and so biblically illiterate that we will just amen anything.
[00:40:58] This dude is trying to grow and build a mega church.
[00:41:03] Right.
[00:41:03] He's not trying to grow and build people.
[00:41:06] Right.
[00:41:06] Do not believe it and read the Bible for yourself.
[00:41:11] Right.
[00:41:11] Please.
[00:41:12] Please.
[00:41:13] That's good, Pastor Jay.
[00:41:15] Oh, my God.
[00:41:19] Please read the Bible.
[00:41:22] Right.
[00:41:24] Oh, my God.
[00:41:28] I don't know more of this cat's church or anything else like that.
[00:41:34] But it says something.
[00:41:36] I think that's the first time he said something off the wall.
[00:41:39] I think he's done it before.
[00:41:42] This is the same guy.
[00:41:43] Okay.
[00:41:44] Okay.
[00:41:44] That shushed the lady in his choir, his worship group, because she was still praising the Lord and he was ready to move on.
[00:41:52] And he shushed her and told her, be quiet.
[00:41:54] You're not in the spirit no more.
[00:41:55] That's the devil.
[00:41:55] Be quiet.
[00:41:56] And then on TV and all on talk shows talking about pastors need to do that more often.
[00:42:03] People just want attention.
[00:42:04] And I'm like, dude, man, if you don't shut up, why are you being disrespectful and just arrogant?
[00:42:12] And so, anyway, I already had a beef with that because even if someone's out of order in worship, there is still a way as a pastor, not a preacher, that you go to your congregate and say, hey, remember there are other people in worship.
[00:42:27] We want to make sure everybody has the opportunity to hear the word of God, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[00:42:30] But you don't shush no grown woman in church like she's your kid.
[00:42:34] Right.
[00:42:34] Yeah.
[00:42:35] So he, yeah.
[00:42:37] Yeah.
[00:42:38] He's married to Shaq's ex-wife, right?
[00:42:41] Yes.
[00:42:41] Yeah.
[00:42:42] Yes.
[00:42:44] Dude is ridiculous.
[00:42:46] He's ridiculous.
[00:42:47] But this, you cannot just say what you want to say.
[00:42:50] You can't just take the Bible and make it mean what you want it to mean.
[00:42:54] Like that, that, that frustrates me to the core.
[00:42:57] People are already double trusting the Bible.
[00:42:59] Right.
[00:43:00] Right.
[00:43:00] Well, I think what frustrates me is the amount of people that believed it.
[00:43:04] Yeah.
[00:43:05] And, and just how convinced he was that he was right.
[00:43:11] Right.
[00:43:11] Like he really believed he was interpreting scripture correctly.
[00:43:16] Right.
[00:43:18] Right.
[00:43:18] And everybody was standing up and amening and they believe it.
[00:43:23] And so God's heart is for the poor.
[00:43:28] Yeah.
[00:43:28] Is for the marginalized.
[00:43:30] Yeah.
[00:43:30] That's who we are called to serve, to be in relationship with, to be in community with.
[00:43:37] Yeah.
[00:43:38] Right.
[00:43:38] Again, it's not they and them and we and us, we're all in this together.
[00:43:42] But to say that don't give because you ain't going to get nothing from it.
[00:43:46] First of all, it indicates that the only reason why we give is for a blessing in return.
[00:43:51] Right.
[00:43:51] That's a generalized assumption.
[00:43:53] Right.
[00:43:54] But to equate giving with it being transactional.
[00:43:59] Right.
[00:43:59] Like you only give if you're going to give something back.
[00:44:03] No, we give because it's God's heart.
[00:44:07] Amen.
[00:44:08] We give because our people are in need.
[00:44:10] And I don't care if I get anything back in return from it.
[00:44:14] If that was the case, half of us wouldn't be in ministry because we don't get nothing back from helping people.
[00:44:20] Right.
[00:44:21] It's the most thankless job in America.
[00:44:24] But we still do it because it's God's heart.
[00:44:27] And so there's so many things wrong with what he with what he said.
[00:44:31] Yeah.
[00:44:32] And I just pray people don't believe it.
[00:44:34] And I pray that pastors have confronted him with the truth.
[00:44:38] Luke 6, 35 and 36.
[00:44:41] Love your enemies, do good and lend expecting nothing in return.
[00:44:45] Come on.
[00:44:46] Words of Jesus.
[00:44:47] The same dude he was quoting.
[00:44:48] Right.
[00:44:51] You mean that Jesus dude?
[00:44:52] That Jesus.
[00:44:53] Oh, my goodness.
[00:44:58] I just pray there are pastors speaking truth to him.
[00:45:02] I hope so somewhere.
[00:45:04] Yeah.
[00:45:04] Because I almost thought he was going to go into a Christian community development sermon when I first heard it.
[00:45:09] Because he was like, charity doesn't change anything.
[00:45:13] Yeah.
[00:45:13] I thought he was going to say, what you got to do is develop people so they can take care of themselves.
[00:45:16] I'm about to be like, ah!
[00:45:18] But he was like, no.
[00:45:19] You got only the tithe can do that.
[00:45:20] I was like, oh!
[00:45:24] Give your money to the pastor of the church.
[00:45:26] Don't give it to the person in need.
[00:45:28] Like, what?
[00:45:29] No.
[00:45:29] Come on.
[00:45:29] Sometimes I really wonder how God allows churches like that to exist, though.
[00:45:35] Yeah.
[00:45:36] Right.
[00:45:36] Yeah.
[00:45:37] I think...
[00:45:38] I don't...
[00:45:39] I guess God asking us the same question.
[00:45:41] How do we...
[00:45:42] Like that?
[00:45:42] Hmm.
[00:45:44] You're talking about him on the show.
[00:45:45] I think that's a whole other show.
[00:45:47] That is a whole other show, right?
[00:45:49] Well, I've been...
[00:45:50] I don't be on the show like, evil is good.
[00:45:53] Evil ain't good.
[00:45:54] Evil is good.
[00:45:56] Evil is good.
[00:45:57] It's good.
[00:45:58] I love that.
[00:45:58] I love it.
[00:45:59] Because he can't have good with that evil.
[00:46:04] That's the Vampire Brooklyn right there.
[00:46:05] That's a good movie right there.
[00:46:06] Now, I have been tempted to get some chains.
[00:46:09] That's the Vampire Brooklyn, yes.
[00:46:10] Yeah.
[00:46:10] For those that don't know.
[00:46:12] I've been tempted to get some chains and go to some churches, even in Launday.
[00:46:15] Like, is this the new grader versus the first grader?
[00:46:19] I'm about to lock these doors.
[00:46:22] I would have a different key.
[00:46:22] I ain't going to be able...
[00:46:23] When y'all come to church on Sunday, you're going to have to figure it out.
[00:46:25] Let me go to this other church down the street.
[00:46:27] Just to see what would happen, man.
[00:46:30] Okay, Joe Clark.
[00:46:32] Joe Clark, exactly.
[00:46:34] Exactly.
[00:46:37] You know, people have to really...
[00:46:41] There has to be a real...
[00:46:43] I think God has got...
[00:46:45] You know, sometimes things have to be worse before they get better.
[00:46:48] Right?
[00:46:49] In some regards, what people have to go through for that to happen in regards to whatever transformation that takes place.
[00:46:55] And maybe that's what we're seeing in the midst of America.
[00:46:58] You know, with the politicians, with the politics, with the voting, with how people are behaving, actions.
[00:47:04] And, you know, all you need is somebody who's almost there already just to hear, I got permission to say this.
[00:47:13] And they're going to drive a car through a parade.
[00:47:16] You know, they're going to just drive a car through a whole entire parade.
[00:47:20] Yeah.
[00:47:20] You have, you know, a sickness that's going on, right?
[00:47:27] And it finds its way in the church in various ways like that.
[00:47:30] But, man, we need bold people not to...
[00:47:36] We need them to say something, not to be quiet, you know?
[00:47:39] And whatever platform that you're going to say it on, whether it's on your social media piece, whether you're going to get other people together or something, man, where we got to fight back in the sense that, you know, the body of Christ is not healthy in these spaces like this, man.
[00:47:57] And all the stuff that they bought into.
[00:47:58] We have yet even talked through a whole show on just Christian nationalism, right?
[00:48:03] And how that has created its own religion, if you will.
[00:48:08] You know what I mean?
[00:48:11] The reality of how far we go.
[00:48:14] I mean, that's what Swagger ended on.
[00:48:16] That's what he ended on with this country was founded by God.
[00:48:19] That's Christian nationalism, right?
[00:48:20] Yeah.
[00:48:21] At its core.
[00:48:22] He about to get...
[00:48:23] Believe in that patriotism and Christianity are one another.
[00:48:26] He going to get some position in Trump's business world.
[00:48:31] If he don't win, if he wins, he's going to be in administration some kind of way.
[00:48:34] You're going to be my pastor.
[00:48:36] I need a devotion from Swagger every day.
[00:48:39] I mean, you joke about it, but hello.
[00:48:43] Yeah.
[00:48:44] Yeah.
[00:48:44] It could very, very well happen.
[00:48:47] No, no.
[00:48:48] That's what I'm saying.
[00:48:49] It's like...
[00:48:49] And where does the church go from here?
[00:48:53] I guess I want to say this.
[00:48:55] After watching, we've watched both of those.
[00:48:58] We watched the one around Swagger and we just watched the one around...
[00:49:04] Henderson.
[00:49:04] Henderson.
[00:49:05] Henderson.
[00:49:05] You know, if you really want to know why generations, the younger generations are not coming to church,
[00:49:12] those are two of the main reasons why.
[00:49:14] One, they're tired of watching a lot of the crap that goes on in our world around bigotry and racism
[00:49:21] and injustices that's been going on.
[00:49:24] And then they're tired of people not preaching true doctrine to who Christ was.
[00:49:31] You know, and I want to say this about voting.
[00:49:34] You know, I want to encourage everybody to go vote.
[00:49:37] I'm not going to tell you to get out there and vote for one party or the other.
[00:49:41] There is other parties if you choose those parties.
[00:49:43] But I want to say this to you.
[00:49:45] When it comes to voting, the first thing that I do is I have to look at the integrity of a person.
[00:49:52] Does what he says and who he is match up with the things that he do?
[00:49:58] And if it don't, then there ain't even nothing for me to vote for you for because your integrity is completely off
[00:50:03] and you're not a person that I would completely trust.
[00:50:05] Now, I don't trust most politicians.
[00:50:08] But the orange hair guy, I just don't trust him at all.
[00:50:11] I almost wish he would have won the second term so we wouldn't have to deal with him now.
[00:50:16] That's how I really feel.
[00:50:17] I really wish he would have won so we could be done with him.
[00:50:20] You know, but my challenge to everybody is this.
[00:50:24] Before you vote for anybody, just take a look at who they are and the stuff that they're saying
[00:50:30] and ask yourself, is this the type of person you would really want to hang around
[00:50:33] and you would really want in your life?
[00:50:35] And you think this is the type of person Christ would really say, go follow them.
[00:50:42] And then make your choice.
[00:50:44] And if you don't like the opposite choice, there are third parties.
[00:50:49] Go investigate one of them.
[00:50:51] You can still be a Republican and vote for other people.
[00:50:53] You can still be a Democrat and vote for other people.
[00:50:56] Just that's all I got to say.
[00:50:59] Yeah.
[00:51:00] Yeah.
[00:51:01] That's real talk.
[00:51:02] That's real talk.
[00:51:03] I'm disagreeing with Terrence.
[00:51:04] A vote for a third party making Trump win.
[00:51:07] Don't do it.
[00:51:10] They can edit that out if they want to, but don't do it.
[00:51:13] I do not want that dude in there.
[00:51:16] He's going to split the vote.
[00:51:18] He's going to split the vote.
[00:51:21] See, to me, it's about strategy.
[00:51:24] To me, it's about...
[00:51:27] It's all welcome.
[00:51:28] All strategies are welcome.
[00:51:31] It's about strategy.
[00:51:32] It's about strategy.
[00:51:33] Like Jay said earlier, we can get her in, Kamala.
[00:51:38] Then we can negotiate, talk about.
[00:51:41] Absolutely.
[00:51:41] You know, we can be the people that the government works for.
[00:51:46] We don't work for the government, right?
[00:51:47] We can be those people.
[00:51:48] And if we can get up in there, but if you don't get her there, you don't get Kamala, then you don't have no conversation because everything's dictatorship.
[00:52:00] So...
[00:52:00] The mayor said, if you elect me, you'll never have to vote again.
[00:52:06] That's scary.
[00:52:08] Yeah.
[00:52:08] Are y'all...
[00:52:09] Right.
[00:52:10] Right.
[00:52:10] Right.
[00:52:11] If you...
[00:52:13] What?
[00:52:14] Right.
[00:52:14] Come on, y'all.
[00:52:15] Like, sometimes you just gotta...
[00:52:17] Just use common sense.
[00:52:18] That's all I'm asking.
[00:52:19] Right, right, right.
[00:52:21] Yeah.
[00:52:22] Yeah.
[00:52:22] Yeah.
[00:52:23] I'm sorry.
[00:52:24] My bad to you.
[00:52:25] I love you, man.
[00:52:26] Hey, I take no offense.
[00:52:28] I take no offense.
[00:52:31] It's one of those things that, you know, certain...
[00:52:37] Certain...
[00:52:38] No, it's all the time, the Republican Party and others, which I get about abortion.
[00:52:45] But it's like there's so much more in our world.
[00:52:49] And not that that's not a real topic either, but like, what about education?
[00:52:53] We got kids who ain't got no good education in the hood, you know?
[00:52:58] That weren't aborted.
[00:52:59] Yeah.
[00:52:59] That are living in poverty, right?
[00:53:01] That...
[00:53:02] Just talked to a woman today when I left the house.
[00:53:06] Gas bill, $1,500, right?
[00:53:09] Yeah.
[00:53:10] Yeah.
[00:53:10] About to put our lights and stuff up.
[00:53:12] Like, trying to work, trying to make ends meet, trying to catch up to the bills, working
[00:53:17] too...
[00:53:17] Like, what about the economics of those who are on the margins, right?
