[00:00:10] Hey family, welcome to this episode of The Cooling Solution. I'm so excited to talk about this topic because it is impacting so many of us. Side hustles. How do you develop an effective side hustle? 93%, 93% of Americans have a side hustle today for various reasons. We're going to talk about the why. Why do folks have a side hustle? How are they doing it? What are some of the most popular ones? And how might you do it? If you're not doing it today,

[00:00:40] if you're not one of the 93% and you're on the 7%, how might you go into it? Further, if you are one of the 93%, how might you do it better? Let's jump into it. So many people are developing a side hustle and a side hustle should not be a surprise for many of you when I say it. Some of us call it being involved in the gig economy. Some of them call what we do after we do what we really do. Whatever phrase you use, side hustles are

[00:01:10] are growing. 93% of working Americans have some sort of side hustles. Yes, you heard me correctly. 93, 93, 93%. And so that's essentially, when you think about that, that's everyone you know. Again, when you count 10 people out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 9 of them are doing it. And they may not have told you they're doing it, but they're doing a side hustle.

[00:01:32] And here are some underneath statistics that might be interesting to you. 37% started a side business in order to pursue their passion. That is encouraging. When you think about people who often push their passion or their purpose to the side because they believe they have to fulfill family responsibilities and such, all which we do.

[00:01:53] But many times looking at your passion or how you provide an income are often considered mutually exclusive and they do not have to be. And so what I love about that statistic is the person may have said to themselves, I may not be able to achieve that yet in my full daily job, but I am going to do something that allows me to do it otherwise when I have time, sometime part time, et cetera.

[00:02:17] The other statistic you should know is 41% started a side hustle to spend more time doing the things that bring them joy. So passion and purpose, things that bring me joy. Love that. Love that. Love that. And so you may be saying to yourself, yes, I am either doing some of that without intention, or I have not done it yet, but I've been contemplating it. And so this is all about how you might approach it.

[00:02:44] And so let's start here. Identifying your passion and your skills, identifying where you want to spend the time. Do you want to be like the 41% that started it to enjoy more? Do you want to be like the 37% that started it to pursue more of their passion purpose work? Here are a couple of things you may do. First is evaluate your interests, your talents, and your strengths. Always good to start with some evaluation before you just plunge in.

[00:03:12] It's nice to see other people doing it and say, man, Tommy's loving it. I would probably love doing quote unquote that as well, but it's more interesting to take the time to evaluate what would be good for you based on your interests, your talents, and your strengths.

[00:03:28] And then the second thing is really consider things that you excel at. Oftentimes when you ask people about their talents, their strengths, et cetera, they come up with an empty face and say they can't write them out. Well, here's a simple way to help you write it out. What is something you do well without trying hard?

[00:03:44] What is something you naturally do well without a lot of effort? And then just imagine what could happen if you put some effort to it.

[00:03:54] Before I went to break, I was talking about identifying your passion and skills. And so one is the self-assessment. That's the way to do it again. Identify your interests, your talents, and your strengths and do some evaluation. What does that list look like?

[00:04:08] The second thing is doing some market research. What are the needs that people have that need to be fulfilled? And there are a number of ways you can do that. One is talking to people around you, asking them if they had it their way, what service would someone do for them so they don't have to do said task?

[00:04:28] The other thing is looking at the gaps when you are out and about in the world. What do you see as missing when you visit said store, restaurant, mall, and the list goes on? What do you see as missing? Can you be a person that stands in the gap and provides a product or service to help do that?

[00:04:52] And then, you know, let me just give you a list of some things that people have done because this just may trigger thoughts. I'm not suggesting that you need to do any of these per se, but if you're thinking about that side hustle and you're scratching your head and you're saying, yeah, I need to have one, but I'm not sure where to start, what to do.

[00:05:08] Here's a short list of a few that might make sense for you to consider. One should be no surprise. YouTube. People are going wild and sharing their knowledge on all things on YouTube, whether it's about RVing, about how you travel smarter, about cruises, about knitting, about how you do laundry in a better way.

[00:05:33] You will be surprised at the number of areas. And I'm going to dare say niches that people talk about on YouTube. Why? Because they can earn some money.

[00:05:42] Once you have a thousand subscribers and over 4,000 hours of watch time per year, per year, not per month, per quarter, 4,000 watch hours per year, you can begin to monetize your channel.

[00:05:53] You can begin to earn income and people earn somewhere between one cent and three cent per view.

[00:06:00] Now that may sound low because I said per view, but let's just do the math. That means when you do a thousand views, that's 10 to $30.

[00:06:08] This is why so many people are on YouTube family, 10 to $30 per 1000 views.

[00:06:14] And so there are so many people who are taking their expertise, taking what they love to do. Some people love to play guitar.

[00:06:20] So I'm going to record myself playing guitar, show you the different strings, show you how I go from single plucking to playing chords.

[00:06:29] And I'll do a series of videos to show you how to learn how to play guitar.

[00:06:33] I'm not saying me trick. I'm just saying that's what someone may have done and thought.

[00:06:37] And so there are all types of videos out there on YouTube.

[00:06:39] The second thing that people are doing are online surveys.

[00:06:44] Businesses and research institutions pay participants for feedback on their products or services.

[00:06:49] So you just Google that taking online surveys to get paid.

[00:06:53] You will find a litany of places that will gladly take your eyeballs and your opinion for a fee.

[00:07:01] And so some people are doing that as their side hustle.

[00:07:05] So I don't know how many hours are they dedicating to it a day?

[00:07:07] I don't know, but just think about it this way.

[00:07:08] If it takes you normally 15 minutes to do a survey or 20 minutes, that means you could do three per hour.

[00:07:14] If you've got three hours to dedicate a day, that's nine per day.

[00:07:17] For a five-day work week, nine times 545 surveys, depending on the survey fee, it could be decent side income for you.

[00:07:25] So that's the second one.

[00:07:27] The third one, obvious, rideshare driving, right?

[00:07:30] So whether you're going to drive Uber or Lyft, et cetera, rideshare driving is still a big one.

[00:07:37] And that one is in the gig economy specifically, right?

[00:07:41] So doing a gig, taking people to and fro.

[00:07:43] One of the things I've noticed about rideshare drivers is most of them see it as also fun time, creating conversations, creating and extending their network in terms of, you know, provided the ridee allows it, creating conversation and getting to know who that person is and adding them to their network.

[00:08:01] People do that.

[00:08:02] But the fourth one, pet sitting, pet sitting roles on the list because people travel.

[00:08:07] They care about their pets.

[00:08:09] And, you know, one of the interesting things about us as humans, humans are willing to spend a lot of money on their pets, whether it's for veterinary services, whether it's for the beds, the clothing, the food.

[00:08:20] Food is expensive.

[00:08:21] So they're also willing to pay for pet sitting.

[00:08:25] They don't want their pet to be alone and unmonitored while they're traveling.

[00:08:29] So as people travel and so think about travel seasons, think about wintertime.

[00:08:33] People like to go away to warm places.

[00:08:34] Think about summertime.

[00:08:35] People like to take different breaks.

[00:08:37] Spring break, different holidays when people go away.

[00:08:39] Those heavy travel periods of the year.

[00:08:41] A lot of people are looking for someone to sit with their pet.

[00:08:45] Number five, food delivery.

[00:08:48] Food delivery.

[00:08:49] Whether it is lunch meal, dinner meal, breakfast meal, but also think about groceries, right?

[00:08:54] So whether you want to do DoorDash, Grubhub on the one side for mealtime deliveries or Instacart on the other side, people enjoy doing that.

[00:09:03] And to me, similar to ride sharing is usage of your vehicle.

[00:09:07] It's being able to get out and get around.

[00:09:09] Some people also say there's a time to get some air and be out in God's glorious sunlight, get that vitamin D, but also be doing a task or side hustle at the same time, earning some income.

[00:09:19] Number six, and I say this with a little bit of reservation, but it was on the top list.

[00:09:25] Podcasting.

[00:09:26] Many have created podcasts to be a business card of sorts, but also to earn income.

[00:09:31] I mean, it's hard to find any business that doesn't have a podcast.

[00:09:35] So there's a couple ways to think about money in podcasting.

[00:09:37] One is you being a podcaster, creating content and not too dissimilar from YouTube, taking what you know, putting it out on podcasts.

[00:09:46] And by the way, podcasts can be video and or audio, right?

[00:09:50] And earning money from that because you can earn money if you're able to sell ads because people enjoy your content.

[00:09:55] And there are even platforms you can use such as Megaphone that will try to sell the ads for you when you do it.

[00:10:02] That's Megaphone.fm.

[00:10:03] They will try to sell ads for you to go into your podcast.

[00:10:07] But the other piece you can make on podcasting is if you've got the space and you've got inclination to do so, you can set up a small podcast recording place.

[00:10:16] And you could be the guy that helps produce the podcast for them.

[00:10:20] By the way, you could even use a service like Riverside.fm and you play producer for people.

[00:10:26] Some people don't want to use all the tools inside of applications and whatnot.

[00:10:31] Riverside is a great tool where you can record the podcast, edit, produce it, make audio, video clips, publish it, so on and so forth.

[00:10:38] Some people just want to talk out the content.

[00:10:42] Guess what?

[00:10:42] Then they can use someone like you who is willing to do and knows how to do all the technical pieces.

[00:10:49] And then the last one I'll speak to is photography.

[00:10:51] A lot of people like to take photos, y'all.

[00:10:53] You could be one of them.

[00:10:54] If you're one of those people who love to take photos with your phone, with a DLSR camera, et cetera, et cetera, photography is still a thing where people have an event.

[00:11:03] They want things immortalized and recorded.

[00:11:07] But again, they don't want to do it.

[00:11:09] Not just because technically they may not know how to do it because they want to be in the moment.

[00:11:12] They want to be free.

[00:11:13] Guess what?

[00:11:14] You could be the person that helps them out.

[00:11:17] Let's talk about the second thing.

[00:11:19] I think the second thing in this space is developing a business plan.

[00:11:24] Now, I'm sure as I say that many of you will say, well, man, it's just a side hustle.

[00:11:29] Do I really need a business plan?

[00:11:31] Well, let's not take business plan too seriously.

[00:11:35] Let's not assume this is a big corporate business plan with a spreadsheet with a thousand rows, so on and so forth.

[00:11:40] Some of this is just writing down what you intend to do and how you intend to do it.

[00:11:46] And why not have an understanding or an eye towards what the monetary benefits could look like?

[00:11:51] How much money will you make if you do said side hustle?

[00:11:55] So, for example, with YouTube, what's the plan?

[00:11:58] If you were to do YouTube, I told you that you can earn a cent to three cent per view.

[00:12:02] And so if we take that up a notch, 10 to $30 per thousand views, how are you going to get to the thousand views?

[00:12:09] How many videos do you think you'll need over what period of time?

[00:12:12] And where do you want to get to?

[00:12:14] How much do you want to make?

[00:12:16] Sometimes you want to back into it that way.

[00:12:18] Do you want to make $500 a month?

[00:12:20] OK, great.

[00:12:21] So then you know how many views you'll need.

[00:12:23] And then what's your estimation on how many videos you'll need to achieve that number of views?

[00:12:28] That's what I mean by business plan, because then from there, once you have that goal set, you can back into the work it will take.

[00:12:34] You know, this is not going to happen in two weeks.

[00:12:36] I mean, anything could happen, but that's not normal, right?

[00:12:39] That you're going to achieve a huge level of views just out of the gate.

[00:12:42] You'll probably have to build up an audience.

[00:12:44] It'll take you some time.

[00:12:45] Again, even to get to monetization, you've got to have a thousand subscribers and 4,000 watch hours over the last year.

[00:12:52] So again, this is just planning to get ahead of it.

[00:12:54] The second thing is financial planning.

[00:12:56] You need to create a budget.

[00:12:58] Outline your expenses.

[00:12:59] How much will you need to start, say, YouTube channel?

[00:13:01] Or if you were going to do ride share, do you need to, you know, fix up your car a little bit to make it inhabitable by other people outside of you?

[00:13:07] If you're going to do pet sitting, what do you need?

[00:13:10] Do you need some toys and treats and whatnot and leashes?

[00:13:13] Who knows?

[00:13:14] But you should have a budget and planned expenses to enter that space that you're going to do your side hustle in.

[00:13:21] Don't walk into it without some sort of plan, because here's what happens when we don't have a plan.

[00:13:27] We don't have a plan.

[00:13:28] It's easy to jump to.

[00:13:30] I did not know that was going to be the case.

[00:13:33] And what you do not want to have is unmet expectations because you didn't outline the expectations.

[00:13:39] So let's go into it knowing what it will be.

[00:13:43] And last but not least, let's have a strategy.

[00:13:47] You know, and a marketing strategy.

[00:13:49] If you're going into YouTube, perhaps you don't need a marketing strategy.

[00:13:52] But I would argue you do because you may say, well, it's YouTube.

[00:13:54] People already know it's YouTube.

[00:13:55] Yeah, but how are they going to find your channel?

[00:13:58] Well, depending on what you're talking about, how do you attract people?

[00:14:01] So I use an example earlier of playing a guitar.

[00:14:03] What are the keywords?

[00:14:05] I mean, Google is the largest search engine.

[00:14:08] Excuse me, YouTube, the largest search engine next to Google, of course.

[00:14:11] So how are they going to find you?

[00:14:13] There's so many videos out there, so many creators out there.

[00:14:17] What are the keywords perhaps you should use for guitars?

[00:14:20] What are the titles that you should be using to title the video?

[00:14:24] What should you perhaps write in the description?

[00:14:26] How should the video open and the video close?

[00:14:28] All those things are strategic decisions as well as marketing decisions.

[00:14:33] And I want you to go into it with a plan so you could be that much more successful.

[00:14:39] I think one of the things going into a side hustle could be a thought process that since

[00:14:47] it's not my day-to-day job, it's not the big thing.

[00:14:52] It's not the thing that provides the primary source of income.

[00:14:55] Also, it's not my business, quote unquote, depending on what I'm doing, right?

[00:14:59] You could easily say, well, you know, again, if it's YouTube channel, fine, it's YouTube's

[00:15:02] business.

[00:15:03] If it's Rod Share, it's Uber's business or Lyft's business.

[00:15:07] But no, no, no.

[00:15:08] I want you to really think about it as your business.

[00:15:11] Why?

[00:15:11] Because it's using your time.

[00:15:13] So even if it's a side hustle, it's as important as anything else that you think about your

[00:15:18] time allocation and usage.

[00:15:20] Each time, man, it's a resource that none of us can get more of.

[00:15:25] We all get the same allocation, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 a year.

[00:15:30] And we are prayerful that each and every morning we are waking up on the right side of the grass.

[00:15:37] And so I want you to think about managing your time effectively.

[00:15:40] And there's three points I'd love you to consider.

[00:15:43] The first is scheduling, allocating specific time slots for your side hustle.

[00:15:49] You may say, well, man, why is that important?

[00:15:52] I mean, I'm going to do it as a side hustle.

[00:15:53] I'll do it when I have the time.

[00:15:54] It's important because similar to numbers, time slots frame the mind and help focus the mind

[00:16:03] and help give you that sense of structure and commitment.

[00:16:07] And so if you say my time to do my YouTube videos is after I get home from work, I want

[00:16:14] to eat dinner.

[00:16:15] I want to rest for a second and then dedicate two hours.

[00:16:18] Excellent.

[00:16:19] Seven to nine, eight to 10, whatever you say, make that commitment.

[00:16:23] By the way, it could be eight to 10, five days a week.

[00:16:26] It could be eight to 10, three days a week.

[00:16:27] It could be eight to 10, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and seven to nine, Tuesday and Thursday,

[00:16:31] whatever it is.

[00:16:31] I encourage you to write it down and create the commitment to a schedule.

[00:16:37] This will help you prioritize it.

[00:16:41] But also as you go to write it, you know what happens.

[00:16:43] It makes you look to the left and the right and be honest about everything you have on your

[00:16:47] plate.

[00:16:48] And so you don't overcommit either.

[00:16:51] That's important to manage your wheel of life.

[00:16:54] That's important.

[00:16:55] If you missed the wheel of life conversation, go back to that episode of the podcast, please.

[00:16:59] The second thing is prioritization.

[00:17:03] Make sure that when you're working on the side hustle, you have a list of the tasks and

[00:17:10] such you need to complete and that you've prioritized that list.

[00:17:14] I'm not biased towards whatever tool you want to use, but I would say even if it's pen or paper,

[00:17:21] writing down everything that needs to happen and then noting which things need to happen and what

[00:17:29] sequence because of the priority and magnitude of them could make or break your attempt to develop

[00:17:37] the side hustle.

[00:17:38] You need to have clear priorities.

[00:17:41] And by the way, you will need to, as with everything else in your life,

[00:17:45] deprioritize things that don't matter as much or, and quite frankly, take things off your plate

[00:17:50] that are simply distractions in this space.

[00:17:54] The third and last thing on managing your time effectively is work-life balance.

[00:17:59] Yes, I said it.

[00:18:01] Making sure you have some work-life balance.

[00:18:03] And so you may be thinking to yourself, it's a side hustle.

[00:18:05] So I have to do what I have to do to make the side hustle work.

[00:18:09] Well, again, let's not forget some of the stats I mentioned up front.

[00:18:13] Two things.

[00:18:13] Out of the 93% of people, again, who are doing this, 93%, every time I say it,

[00:18:19] I still go, wow, what an enormous number, 93% of working Americans.

[00:18:24] 37% started it to pursue a passion of purpose.

[00:18:29] 41% again to spend more time doing the things that bring them joy.

[00:18:34] I would love to believe and I'm hoping and praying that as you do this,

[00:18:40] that does not mean you create an imbalance in your personal life.

[00:18:44] If you are doing this to pursue passion and purpose and have fun, enjoy yourself,

[00:18:49] it should not create lack of enjoyment in other spaces.

[00:18:53] Things need to coexist and work well together.

[00:18:55] That's up to you.

[00:18:57] And so again, scheduling up front, making the right commitments,

[00:19:00] prioritizing the right things, but also looking and doing a work-life balance check

[00:19:05] could be meaningful.

[00:19:08] Let me go to point number four.

[00:19:10] And this one's huge.

[00:19:12] One of the things I talked about on a number of different shows is how you achieve different

[00:19:17] things in different spaces are largely connected to the strength of your network.

[00:19:23] Remember I told you before, the large majority of managers, supervisors, et cetera,

[00:19:29] who are looking to hire for a role, do so hoping, I would even say, Lord, praying that someone

[00:19:37] in my network introduces me to someone who's going to fit this role.

[00:19:41] That would be so much better than having to review a bunch of interviews cold,

[00:19:46] go through that first meeting, getting to know someone, try to figure out who they are,

[00:19:50] where they fit in this culture.

[00:19:51] Do they really have their expertise?

[00:19:52] The second interview, so on and so forth.

[00:19:54] Man, if I could meet and interview someone who is brought to me by someone in my network

[00:19:59] that I trust, that gives me a leap forward in process, gives me a heightened sense of

[00:20:04] confidence and expectation going into that first meeting, et cetera.

[00:20:08] And so one of the things for you in doing this side hustle is building and expanding your

[00:20:14] networking, right?

[00:20:15] So network-wise, you're going to connect with others in this industry.

[00:20:18] If you're a YouTuber, meet with some YouTubers.

[00:20:20] If you're going to do ride share, meet with other ride shares.

[00:20:23] Know what's going on.

[00:20:25] Take advantage of events that are planned.

[00:20:27] Take advantage of online communities.

[00:20:30] Take advantage of reading Reddit and people who have some experience in said space and

[00:20:34] connect with people as it makes sense.

[00:20:36] You're going to engage with potential customers and potential collaborators.

[00:20:41] Make use of that.

[00:20:42] The second thing here is mentorship.

[00:20:45] Seek advice and guidance from people.

[00:20:48] And mentorship can happen a number of ways, of course.

[00:20:50] One, it could be individual, informal, where you're learning from someone over time through

[00:20:55] conversations.

[00:20:55] The second thing, it could be formal.

[00:20:57] You may meet someone who clearly has excelled in this thing and say, you know what?

[00:21:02] I would love to have a mentoring relationship with you.

[00:21:05] There are some things here that I know I need to learn, but then there are a number of things

[00:21:09] I don't even know them, but I know I will need to learn them, right?

[00:21:12] And so I'm looking for someone who can help me create a plan, the scaffolding, if you will,

[00:21:17] and then fill in the blanks with these other things that I need to learn.

[00:21:20] The third thing is collaboration.

[00:21:23] Partnering with others to really expand your reach and resources and be bidirectional and

[00:21:30] value with other folks is so powerful.

[00:21:33] Certainly you can do all of it by yourself, but you can go much further when you're walking

[00:21:38] alongside and with people in partnership.

[00:21:40] So I would encourage you, think about who you might be to collaborate with during this

[00:21:45] time.

[00:21:45] Be eyes wide open to people in the space and others you can learn from.

[00:21:50] The one thing I'd also point out what collaboration is, there is, I'm going to contradict myself,

[00:21:56] right?

[00:21:56] I'm going to contradict myself at the next minute.

[00:21:58] I know it.

[00:21:59] So I'm going to say that up front.

[00:22:00] One is finding people you feel like you can work with, right?

[00:22:04] People you feel like you can get to that place of know, like, and trust.

[00:22:07] There's something about them.

[00:22:08] It's the way they move, the way they talk, the way they come into an environment, the order

[00:22:14] they create.

[00:22:15] There's something there where you feel like, man, I feel like I could work with that person.

[00:22:18] Reach out to them and see, right?

[00:22:20] Nothing unexplored becomes anything.

[00:22:23] You have to explore a little bit.

[00:22:24] The second thing though is don't also run away from people who may not be just like you.

[00:22:30] Who don't necessarily always make you smile, but you can tell that they have something.

[00:22:37] There is something there.

[00:22:38] They've done it before.

[00:22:40] They've seen it before.

[00:22:41] They have the scar tissue.

[00:22:42] They are seemingly beyond competent in this space.

[00:22:47] Don't discard the opportunity to learn something from those folks.

[00:22:51] One of the things that I've certainly experienced in my career is a number of people I was able

[00:22:56] to work with who didn't necessarily make me feel warm and fuzzy.

[00:23:00] Not everyone's going to make you feel warm and fuzzy.

[00:23:02] That doesn't mean they are unkind.

[00:23:06] That does not mean they are not willing to teach, train, mentor, even sponsor.

[00:23:13] It just may mean they have a rough exterior.

[00:23:16] It may mean they communicate differently than you.

[00:23:19] One of the wonderful things about the opportunities we all have is being able to ratchet up our

[00:23:26] emotional intelligence to operate with, partner with, work with people who are different from

[00:23:33] us.

[00:23:34] To the extent that we do that, we open ourselves up to more and more opportunities.

[00:23:38] So family, build and expand your network as a part of your side hustle.

[00:23:45] I've gone through four things.

[00:23:46] Let me close with this fifth one.

[00:23:48] And you should suspect this from me.

[00:23:52] Learning and adaptation.

[00:23:54] Continuous learning and adaptation.

[00:23:57] Again, one of the things that can quickly happen is if it's not your primary job and primary source

[00:24:03] of income, you could treat it as not just less than that.

[00:24:07] You could treat it less seriously.

[00:24:09] You could not give it the rigor you give to the primary job and source of income or if it were

[00:24:14] your business because it's a quote unquote side quote hustle.

[00:24:19] You may say, you know, just I'll just do it.

[00:24:22] And just like when I talked about the planning, let's not do that.

[00:24:25] Let's be structured a planning, manage time effectively, have goals and vision and such

[00:24:33] that we want to achieve in this and ensure it's additive.

[00:24:37] And so continuous learning and adaptation is a part of that.

[00:24:40] You know, you need to educate yourself and make sure you invest in training to the extent

[00:24:44] that it's required and appropriate.

[00:24:46] So if you're going to do a YouTube channel and you've never done one before, you should

[00:24:50] probably learn.

[00:24:51] You should invest some time to learn.

[00:24:52] You should schedule time to learn.

[00:24:53] Find out who to learn from.

[00:24:55] Look for reputable sources.

[00:24:56] Go to people who, again, have succeeded in this and look like they're doing wellness.

[00:25:02] And if they're willing to train you, take the train.

[00:25:04] And if they're willing to mentor you, take the mentoring.

[00:25:06] If they're willing to make suggestions on where you can get that learning and education,

[00:25:10] take those suggestions.

[00:25:12] The second thing, this is hard for some of us for sure, is feedback.

[00:25:19] Asking for feedback, taking the feedback.

[00:25:22] If you're a ride share person, when you get to the end of the ride, they're going to give

[00:25:26] you two points of feedback.

[00:25:28] One is monetarily, the tip.

[00:25:30] And you can gauge a lot by the tip, but also they're going to put stars and whatnot on the

[00:25:36] app.

[00:25:36] And, you know, I'm not sure if on Uber and Lyft, if you actually get that, I think you

[00:25:40] do because they give you star ratings in the app.

[00:25:43] So I'm sure I would think that those are visible to you as well.

[00:25:47] But you can always say, as the person's getting ready to get out of the car, I hope this trip

[00:25:51] was pleasurable for you.

[00:25:53] I hope you got what you expected or looking forward to seeing you another time.

[00:25:57] Hopefully I could become your favorite Uber driver.

[00:25:59] Whatever the case may be, you figure out your own salutation, your own way of closing the

[00:26:05] conversation with your passengers, so to speak.

[00:26:08] But get the feedback, no matter what you are going to do, ensure you have the opportunity

[00:26:13] to know how those you're looking to serve with your product or service, that you get responses

[00:26:19] from them relative to how you're doing.

[00:26:21] And last but certainly not least is be flexible.

[00:26:25] And that really highlights that adaptation part.

[00:26:27] As you go through these things, don't, again, because it's a side hustle, feel like this

[00:26:34] is the mold it must be in and it must stay so, thus and so forth.

[00:26:39] Be flexible.

[00:26:40] Know that you're going to learn and grow and the situation may evolve.

[00:26:44] And what starts as A today may be Z tomorrow and be willing to go.

[00:26:48] And I like to think of flexibility in this way as well.

[00:26:51] So we have seasons and seasons have a start and an end.

[00:26:55] And as you transition from one season to the next season, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

[00:27:00] That's just one season coming to an end and another season having a beginning.

[00:27:04] And they may not look at all alike.

[00:27:08] And so take it in that regard.

[00:27:11] Family, thank you so much for tuning into this episode about the side hustle.

[00:27:15] How do you develop it?

[00:27:16] How do you get it going?

[00:27:17] How do you make it better?

[00:27:18] This is a trend that we probably will not see go away for some time.

[00:27:22] So I encourage you to use these tips.

[00:27:25] Hold on to these tips.

[00:27:26] If you're not one of these people today, you could be tomorrow.

[00:27:30] As always, if it's helpful, please drop me a line.

[00:27:33] Or if you've got something to add to the conversation, drop me a line on that as well.

[00:27:37] It could be beneficial to me and the tribe.

[00:27:39] We all love to learn together.
