[00:23:29] Just share a little bit of your journey first man. How did you even get into music production songwriting
[00:23:35] You know it just in general
[00:23:37] First of all think of having me on um, this is the honor and the blessing for sure to get to talk to you and also your audience
[00:23:44] So i appreciate that
[00:23:46] But as far as my music journey i would say it started at a very early age. So i'm thinking maybe like four five
[00:23:54] Um my dad
[00:23:56] He's not in the music industry or anything like that, but he just used the right song
[00:24:00] Um, so as a kid i took
[00:24:03] I really became fond of just
[00:24:06] Songwriter my dad would write songs about me my mom or anything and just you know sing them
[00:24:11] Around the house and stuff like that. So i think that's where it first started
[00:24:15] And um, you know i did church choir when i was young for play everybody did that
[00:24:20] Stay was in the church and then um i went on to be in the band in middle school
[00:24:25] I picked up trumpet at the age of ten
[00:24:28] I was in the percussion ensemble
[00:24:30] So i just really took a like in the music at an early age
[00:24:35] And then that turned into me going to college scholarship for trumpet and becoming a drum major at Virginia State University
[00:24:43] The university
[00:24:45] And yeah, i met some friends there learned how to really produce on
[00:24:50] Computer because i was producing on my phone since i was about
[00:24:54] 16 the little garage band that they had on apple
[00:24:58] So yeah, and um shout out to my friends Reggie um chaleneiras
[00:25:03] Avery so them guys really taught me how to own my skills and do it on the computer
[00:25:09] And from then on we just started making music
[00:25:11] Of course it wasn't like music sent to the round god and faith but
[00:25:16] That's why i really learned how to record and produce and then from then on um
[00:25:22] I met my wife back in
[00:25:24] 2018
[00:25:26] And
[00:25:27] One day she sent me a song by no big deal
[00:25:31] And he was a new artist to both of us because i didn't i wasn't really listening to christian
[00:25:35] rap and christian hip hop like that so she sent that to me in it jike it like really inspired me
[00:25:41] I was like oh this is not lame
[00:25:43] Thank you and and i knew i didn't want to make secular music anymore
[00:25:47] I had been pulled away from that uh that friend group
[00:25:50] I moved to a whole different city so i knew for a fact
[00:25:53] I didn't want to make music like that but i wanted to still make music
[00:25:56] And i just didn't know where to go with that but when i heard that song it was uh i think it was his album
[00:26:01] 2018
[00:26:03] And i was like man it's really over my mind that christian music so from then on i just started you know
[00:26:08] dabbling in
[00:26:11] Making faith and fuse music so that's my journey
[00:26:14] yep
[00:26:16] You said so much
[00:26:18] I was stuck on the nendobic deal part because you know focus is shared his story like we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for lacray
[00:26:25] lacray inspired him musically
[00:26:27] And then that kind of turned into where you sit right now
[00:26:31] So it's it's amazing to me
[00:26:33] And i'm glad you called his name out because
[00:26:36] I think sometimes as an artist you need to hear that you actually inspired somebody to literally
[00:26:42] Do like a 350 you know
[00:26:45] And change and change you know what i'm saying like i think that was really huge
[00:26:49] I'm sitting here like when did you get married when you were like 14 because i don't
[00:26:55] So does he oh
[00:26:58] I can tell you

[00:27:03] So you do not look bro you don't i yark i don't know i yark can't see but he does not look his age what you got focus
[00:27:19] So listen i definitely appreciate you sharing that and uh yes uh no big deal is a big deal
[00:27:26] He has this part a lot of us and i'm glad you got to hold it at album
[00:27:30] So but walk us through you know your faith journey then so so you know what you doing music
[00:27:37] When did you start transitioning to where you knew okay not only you know
[00:27:41] You heard the nubic deal project but still when did you know you still wanted to do that though
[00:27:47] It's like it that's different like just doing regular music
[00:27:50] It's easier than saying okay because it's a lifestyle that comes with if you're going to do Christian music
[00:27:57] Like you got to really be walking that so walk us through the transformation of you saying you know what
[00:28:01] I'm really gonna be sold out for real for god and what does your faith journey look like
[00:28:05] Yes, so i can say that turn and point happen um early 2017
[00:28:12] Um, i'll just get into that real quick so early 2017 um
[00:28:16] um
[00:28:19] I had well this is something that's been going on. I had like anger issues
[00:28:23] So um
[00:28:26] And one day in 2017 i got so angry with
[00:28:29] Someone i was dealing with
[00:28:31] That i punched a brick wall
[00:28:35] Oh, i punched a brick wall and i broke my wrist
[00:28:39] Wow right here and this is the hand i use the most so i broke that hand and um
[00:28:45] So it riffs excuse me
[00:28:47] And i don't know it's like the turn and point happen after that because
[00:28:52] You know
[00:28:55] Being stressed out now having fulfilling relationships
[00:28:59] Um, just not feeling like i had
[00:29:02] Anything in me or to me or anything was going on in my life
[00:29:06] It just made me completely angry and i lashed out and i want to say
[00:29:11] um like in the middle of 2017
[00:29:14] um
[00:29:16] i started
[00:29:17] I started reading the bible more
[00:29:20] And it wasn't even it wasn't even
[00:29:23] Like i'm trying to get closer to god like that's not how i started
[00:29:26] It started because one of my friends
[00:29:28] Who is a actually a hubi rizolite which is which is crazy
[00:29:33] But he read the bible a lot so you know i started reading the bible with him
[00:29:37] But the difference was it started to like kind of change
[00:29:42] How i thought
[00:29:43] I wasn't really reading it at the point to like tell people this tell people that because you know
[00:29:48] We will go out and stuff and he would tell people, you know
[00:29:50] You better repent and you know you're going to hell and stuff like that
[00:29:54] So but for me it turned into me seeing myself
[00:29:59] And you know i started that journey of trying to build a relationship with christ
[00:30:04] And then here comes my wife i ended up meeting her in 2018
[00:30:09] And she was already you know sold out for christ
[00:30:12] And i can see there was something different about her
[00:30:15] So you know i started pursuing her
[00:30:17] And of course i met her parents who are actually my pastors now
[00:30:21] Wow i met her parents and they were
[00:30:25] I did i did
[00:30:27] But um it's not the traditional church you would think they they started
[00:30:31] Basically um a movement called holy nation. It's like
[00:30:35] But anyway they just focused on kingdom it wasn't traditional
[00:30:38] It was nothing like that so i really started to develop a relationship with
[00:30:41] Christ rather than a church or a place um a worship
[00:30:46] So that's kind of how my faith journey went
[00:30:48] You know i gave my life to christ back when i was like four you know got baptized
[00:30:53] My parents
[00:30:54] Tell me that was healing people in the church when i was about four years old
[00:30:59] I don't really remember that but you know
[00:31:02] Everybody talks about that
[00:31:04] And then moving on to going to
[00:31:06] To high school um
[00:31:08] Starting to abuse marijuana
[00:31:11] Um when i was like
[00:31:13] 17 and then going to college and still continuing that and drinking and you know
[00:31:19] You know just being wild
[00:31:22] Yeah, that's kind of how my faith journey went
[00:31:24] Yeah
[00:31:25] So i'm thinking god uh that it changed shut out to all the wives out here
[00:31:29] And the ladies that love the lord good grief that man say something different was something different
[00:31:35] Okay, she was something different so uh i'm praying that you uh women heard that
[00:31:40] I'm glad to talk about that music we don't know we we hold it tight
[00:31:43] I got i got one more question because he says
[00:31:46] That i always talk about what he says because i go to a
[00:31:49] Well, he talked about having a great a good friend who's a black Hebrew isla like oh yeah
[00:31:54] That in itself is a whole
[00:31:57] So i want to know how you deal with it because i go to a barbershop where i got about two
[00:32:01] Uh, you know great guys
[00:32:02] I wouldn't call him my friend but they are you know associates that i constantly talk to and then i promise you
[00:32:08] It seemed like they know when my appointment is because i promise you
[00:32:13] Because everything is appointment based now you know you know you know i know
[00:32:16] I know walking is no more everybody knows the appointment based
[00:32:20] And i'm like every single time i walk into my shop these guys is here
[00:32:25] And i had great conversations with him but i don't know the sum of turning the argument
[00:32:29] So how are your conversations with your with your friend who you know like i say he is a black
[00:32:35] Hebrew isla
[00:32:36] Why didn't you even argue the faith with him because they so dogmatic
[00:32:40] They don't they don't even open their eyes
[00:32:43] Even when you fact check them and prove them wrong
[00:32:47] I had to take my whole but listen let me tell you something and my wife my wife will tell you
[00:32:50] I had to take my whole all my resources with me when i go to the barbershop
[00:32:56] He got a big big bible
[00:33:00] coordinates
[00:33:05] Let's go to war
[00:33:07] I really go to war let's go to war but how do you how do you talk to him? How do you deal with them?
[00:33:12] So i will say he's not it he is like any more at this
[00:33:17] He's not
[00:33:22] It was like pulling teeth man. I'm just like i understand
[00:33:26] I understand that the bible says this yes i understand this but i'm like bro where is the love?
[00:33:32] Yes, i'm like bro you all hear punching people in the face like where is the love man
[00:33:37] So i used to argue with him about that a lot like you need to show more love like there's more compassion
[00:33:42] Like you're not gonna win people to the kingdom by punching them in the face
[00:33:46] You know so so those conversations will be like pulling teeth
[00:33:49] We would argue but i mean we were still friends because at that point we were living together
[00:33:54] So it was no you can't run it was nothing yeah, you can't run from it. So
[00:33:59] Wow, that's how our conversations went

[00:34:27] Well, I feel like uh y'all doing ministry on a different level. So what's that like?
[00:34:31] You know i'm saying just to do ministry and do podcasting with your wife and white what inspired y'all to do that
[00:34:38] So what inspired us to do the podcast is
[00:34:43] We used to talk a lot when we were dating we um
[00:34:46] We did long distance we lived about four hours away from each other
[00:34:49] So we used to talk a lot on the phone face time. We used to have Bible study and uh things in that nature and
[00:34:57] I don't know one day
[00:34:59] I felt the Holy Spirit like y'all need to
[00:35:02] Do a podcast like y'all need to they'll need to share this with the world because there's so many things
[00:35:06] We would say we'd just be like whoa like we would catch so much revelation from just reading scripture and reading certain books
[00:35:13] That was like this has to be shared
[00:35:15] But that C was planted back in
[00:35:17] 2018 and we didn't start until 2023. So it took about five years for it actually to manifest
[00:35:25] But honestly the journey for the podcast has been it's been challenging
[00:35:29] Um because there's a part of us that wants to figure out, you know
[00:35:32] How can we reach a bigger audience? How could we get more views? How could we do this? How could we do that then there's another part of us that's like
[00:35:40] Man, we're still impacting people because it doesn't matter how many people hit us up saying look
[00:35:45] This podcast has really either bought me joy conviction or you know just education about God
[00:35:51] But um, you know, it's been helping them. So the journey has been I'll say it's been it's been good
[00:35:57] It's been good
[00:35:58] Yeah
[00:35:59] What's that one thing you've learned from being married that you didn't know about yourself
[00:36:04] Woo
[00:36:06] Man so
[00:36:09] One thing I didn't know about myself is
[00:36:13] I'm not as prepared as I thought I would
[00:36:17] Um, I'm just talking about it in life
[00:36:20] Doing certain things and my my wife brings to my
[00:36:23] About things I need right that I need to be doing
[00:36:27] You know um and things I should be focusing on sometimes you know, I feel like I put so much focus on
[00:36:35] Um pursuing the dream of music also cinematography. I'm a cinematographer went to school for that
[00:36:42] And she makes me realize that what's in the home is more important
[00:36:47] Then pursuing pursuing those things first. So how am I being a leader in the home?
[00:36:52] Rather than being a leader outside the home. So I'm not as prepared as I thought I was that's probably what I've learned

[00:38:01] Absolutely, I wouldn't trade my wife or nothing, but I just it's always just mind blowing me like
[00:38:05] What did wow? Wow right because we're so one track minded come on man
[00:38:10] They're so one track minded man and I see that I see that heavily. Yes
[00:38:15] And they don't get that sometimes blessed a life but they don't believe it
[00:38:18] I didn't believe it
[00:38:27] I can only think of one thing once you're in and that's it he's like that's every man
[00:38:32] We are thinking of one thing at a time
[00:38:35] And uh, but we don't believe it we don't believe it till we get married and then we actually see y'all really just be thinking about one thing at a time
[00:38:41] And we trying to conquer that so let us conquer this for
[00:38:46] We bring some
[00:38:54] Okay, so come on talk about the man um, you know when you when you went to the old man create this music man
[00:39:00] What's your creative process man? How do you create your beats?
[00:39:04] Um, you know are you wanting to got to you know hear the hook the loop
[00:39:07] Like walk us through your process and even a song writing process to his whip
[00:39:12] Hey, y'all see so my um producing
[00:39:15] Process is one of two ways um, I'll be driving or I'll be somewhere
[00:39:19] And I just hear a melody in my head and I just sing it in my voice memos
[00:39:23] Bring it home see if I can make something you know close to that
[00:39:29] Um, so that's probably like 20% of the time 80% of the time
[00:39:33] I'm listening to loops. I'm just deep and spliced or deep in our cages listen to loops for hours and hours
[00:39:40] And then I hear that one loop or that one um sample that I can mess with
[00:39:45] And I start you know um
[00:39:47] Doing whatever with that bringing in the drums
[00:39:50] And um add encounter melodies but then after that
[00:39:54] I'm usually in a space where i'm like hmm should I send this to somebody
[00:39:59] But should I start writing to it?
[00:40:01] 90% of the time you start writing to it. I can't help it like that
[00:40:07] So I hear melody in my head and I start singing it or rapping it whatever
[00:40:11] Start writing it down so most of the time i'm writing a song
[00:40:14] In about a day
[00:40:16] Wow, so most of the songs you hear I've written them
[00:40:20] In a day of course I go back and add stuff to it but most of them i'm writing in a day
[00:40:24] So yeah, that's really the the process with um producing and I will say
[00:40:30] Most of the time i pray right before i just invite god into the session
[00:40:35] Sometimes i'm just really in it and i'm just going and i forget to really uh
[00:40:40] You know invite them into the session and that's when it becomes a little challenging for me to
[00:40:45] Come up with things to say or really put a beat together. So yeah
[00:40:50] What is that dream collaboration for you like who would you like to work with
[00:40:56] Man, I think i've done at least one of my dream collaboration
[00:41:00] Oh, and that is
[00:41:02] I don't know if y'all know of cateri b. I'll be y'all of course y'all do

[00:42:39] Like i'm the media director there so i worked there and known
[00:42:42] I didn't know she did music she didn't know i did music
[00:42:45] Wow but for some reason my supervisor told her one day like he showed her um
[00:42:49] Thing was waymaker and that's when she figured out like i did music and stuff like that so she was
[00:42:54] Oh, we got link up one time one time. I was okay
[00:42:56] So i started hearing some of her stuff that she did and i was like i got the perfect beat
[00:43:01] So i sent it to her and her writer wrote it and like a date
[00:43:04] And then um when it comes to my tz we had already had a song together so i had already had that connection
[00:43:10] and um
[00:43:12] Of course you would have to pay my tz you know i'm saying like he's he's big time
[00:43:16] That's because man how can i oh
[00:43:18] Wow and i was like man how can i um
[00:43:23] How can i serve um him right now but also you know get this favor like i need you to do a collab with um cateri
[00:43:31] So he had a song i think was called him anyway
[00:43:33] I don't know if you've heard that one like the chris brown. Yeah, and i was like bro i play trumpet

[00:43:40] Some uh licks on there for real for free because he was looking for a trumpet player
[00:43:43] So i just hit him up in the DM. I did the licks um song is dope by the way and then i was like yeah bro
[00:43:50] All right, i'm gonna need something from you because i'm not gonna ask for payment for doing this
[00:43:54] I need you to do something for me so that's how that came about

[00:44:57] Any advice that you would give to a young up and coming artist who can produce in a way that you can
[00:45:03] Yeah, um i would say
[00:45:08] If you can produce the way i can which is
[00:45:11] I would say i'm a pretty good producer super producer. That's what you say
[00:45:14] I would say continue to work on your craft. I mean
[00:45:19] It's so many days that i feel like i've arrived as a producer
[00:45:24] But i still have that fire in me to continue to learn new methods learn new um
[00:45:31] i'll even say hacks because there's so many hacks that help me
[00:45:34] produce even out of out of faster rate
[00:45:37] So i would say continue to study continue to educate yourself as a producer because the trends keep changing like
[00:45:43] Music itself in the entirety like music doesn't change because you know i'm saying
[00:45:48] God created music musical is created in heaven
[00:45:51] But the trends as to which um people's ears respond for certain things that changes. So i would say continue to educate yourself
[00:45:58] And um let go of that pride that tells you you're you're the top producer and you don't need help
[00:46:03] You don't need to educate let go of that because i'm gonna get you nowhere
[00:46:07] Yeah, that's good. That's good

[00:51:02] Help me mold me order my steps guide me and help me to navigate through the tough seasons of life

[00:51:16] You need to get into a church. Let's be very clear
[00:51:18] No, no, you get I know everybody want to run away from it. I know yeah, you know
[00:51:22] I ain't going at that pass. I ain't giving that no, no, no, don't just get that out your spirit
[00:51:26] If if the God if the Holy Spirit wooed you and you know it
[00:51:30] Um, if anybody who knows out there, you know is that sudden feel when all of a sudden you know that yet
[00:51:35] He's he's provoking the spirit that God is provoking you to do something
[00:51:39] You let's just act and do it and especially when you finally give in and do it
[00:51:43] So get into a good Bible based church and learn God for yourself
[00:51:47] Because I think that's that's the key. Learn them for yourself absolutely be a part of the church
[00:51:52] But learn God for yourself. That was one of the best decisions I haven't made dice

[00:52:01] Want the classes life classes studying praying
[00:52:05] Even there's some I did some seminary. I you know, I ain't dice, you know dices the preacher

[00:52:24] She got a cloth over there she got a collar she got everything
[00:52:33] For me and I was upset that I wasted so many years not having the authentic relationship with God
[00:52:39] I really believe I was just going through the motions. I was just really living off of
[00:52:44] Grandmama faith mama faith mama mama religion the grandmama religion
[00:52:50] I didn't really know for myself. I just stand him for myself
[00:52:54] I didn't I told you I never felt conviction
[00:52:56] It was like no, I just I just did whatever I want to do like yeah who cares
[00:52:59] So that was the best thing I can do so again, you know
[00:53:02] We don't want to make sure we offer that every every wins they dice
[00:53:05] Yeah, I love it rare salvation simple just pray to God from your heart and he will save you
[00:53:12] Especially if you feel lost and don't know what to do like focus said that is the best prayer you can pray
[00:53:17] Just say I'm sinner listen, but I truly believe that you died on a cross from me
[00:53:21] And I want to live my life with you
[00:53:24] Okay, and it's easy to do and he is absolutely right about finding a Bible based church or a Bible based community
[00:53:31] You need people around you who are going to embrace your life in your new yes to God
[00:53:36] And they're gonna help you walk that journey out there will hold you accountable

[00:54:30] And you know typically you know if you live in the Midwest you get four seasons
[00:54:34] That's another reason why I love living in the Midwest. I think you get to see God
[00:54:38] In more ways that's just me being snooty

[00:54:42] Locationally, but yeah, the divinely we go through different seasons and so
[00:54:48] I think we do a good job here
[00:54:50] You know on the show talking about people who are in different seasons of their life
[00:54:53] You know either whether it's music or whether we're just trying to give a word
[00:54:56] It's like well you might be here you might be there
[00:54:59] And that's very biblical
[00:55:00] I'm glad we're talking about ecclesiastes today chapter three and you already know but uh listen

[00:55:13] This scripture says there's a time for everything in a season for everything under the sun
[00:55:18] You know what I mean is it time to be born? It's time to die time to plant time to be uprooted

[00:55:30] A time to scatter some stones and a time to gather them a time to embrace and a time to refrain from me

[00:56:31] So yeah, he's but he's faithful to do what he does and we're grateful
[00:56:35] But there is a time for everything and so
[00:56:40] What's saying now read the room that's the popular one online is like read the room
[00:56:46] Read the room means
[00:56:48] Now might not have been the time for that thing to happen or for you to say that
[00:56:53] And so I think this is a scripture that lets us know we need to Holy Ghost. What do you think focus?
[00:56:58] I think this is a scripture to tell us we need to have patience
[00:57:02] First thing when I when I read this one
[00:57:04] That's the first thing to come to my mind that's on the answer because you write it
[00:57:07] There is a time for everything there are seasons of life that we need to navigate through
[00:57:11] But if you ain't got no patience to run the race you're gonna be in trouble
[00:57:16] I
[00:57:17] Said your point dice. It's in his time and not our time
[00:57:21] And a lot of us listen we live in a microwave
[00:57:24] Society we wanted to happen now dice. I don't want to wait
[00:57:27] We see so many horror stories
[00:57:30] With a lot of entertainers a lot of people in the industry
[00:57:34] Doing things probably they shouldn't do
[00:57:37] But they don't want to wait on God's time and they want it now and they being you know, you know
[00:57:41] We seen the cat Williams
[00:57:44] You know, it's safe say interview and we heard the rhetoric of you know people taking deals because they want it now instead of
[00:57:50] We don't God's time and then let God get them there
[00:57:53] So yes the first thing I think about when I thought about this topic was patience
[00:57:58] You need to practice patience. You need to make sure you at least with being still
[00:58:03] And walking through the process walking through that season whatever season it is
[00:58:08] And another thing about the patience thing is you know when it's time to step up step up
[00:58:13] So that's that's what I thought about all time
[00:58:17] How can she do any patience?
[00:58:21] I mean
[00:58:24] I think this is this is a very tough passage from people to read but it's just the truth
[00:58:30] Like I mean, you can sit here and break this down like I just love how it starts with there is a time for
[00:58:37] Everything like every single thing and I think we can get rid of the fear of death if we would read this
[00:58:46] Us dying or other people dying
[00:58:49] We would we would get you know
[00:58:52] We would speak up when we need to when it says there's a time to be silent
[00:58:55] There's a time to speak
[00:58:56] I think the world is spiraling out of control like we even had a hurt on our life
[00:59:01] The other day and it's like there isn't yeah, it is a time to speak up
[00:59:05] Yes, like you've been holding your your breath on this subject matter for so long
[00:59:11] Uh, you guys speak up, you know, so
[00:59:14] I love this from a spiritual perspective just man
[00:59:19] It kind of lets you know you're gonna go through hard times
[00:59:22] Mm-hmm. You're gonna go through good times you're going some days you may cry
[00:59:25] Sometimes you some days you may want to give up there's a time that you know, you're gonna build and then there's a time
[00:59:31] We're gonna need to tear some stuff down, okay? Our God's gonna tear it down. Ooh
[00:59:34] And so what is true?
[00:59:37] What's me dead now? What's you mean dead now? What we got to go now?
[00:59:41] I'm like a tower of babble. You should have that thing on now. I'm like shut it down
[00:59:44] You know or even just a bad relationship
[00:59:46] That you've built up to be this thing and some people have this um
[00:59:51] I was talking to a guy the other day and I started to cringe focus because I don't usually
[00:59:56] I'm not usually in these circles, but the guy kept name dropping
[01:00:00] And it was just urking my soul like
[01:00:03] I was thinking I really don't care about these other people
[01:00:06] I'm just trying to see what you're working on. You know what I'm saying?
[01:00:09] And I realized like yeah, these are these are those relationships that I've already torn down
[01:00:13] Like I really don't rock with people like that who keep bringing up
[01:00:17] The highlighted life's life of other people
[01:00:20] It's like okay
[01:00:22] We call that rod and where I'm from
[01:00:23] It's like what what are we doing like
[01:00:25] You need to tear down that thought that other people are so much better than you that you always got to say their name
[01:00:30] Because that's that's not the position. I want you to be in
[01:00:34] But if you feel like I always got to bring up
[01:00:37] You know people who are doing way more than I am so there's value that you see in me
[01:00:42] Mm-hmm, that's not it. That's not it
[01:00:45] So I ain't gonna get stuck on that but I just I love I love a lazy ass these three because

[01:00:53] There is a time to kill some thoughts that you've been having in your brain in your mind

[01:01:09] Some people won't leave the house because of the fear they believe they're gonna encounter

[01:01:16] It's like people do go to bed

[01:01:19] Maybe somebody hurt your feelings at work, but trust me they not just at home thinking of how to hurt your feelings again
[01:01:24] Like just go to work and speak up because the Bible is very clear. It's a time to speak up
[01:01:29] Hey, hey, how you say what you say yesterday? I didn't like it
[01:01:32] Please don't say it again. Matter of fact, I went ahead and made a complaint
[01:01:35] Because you made that up okay, you made that absolutely up and so yeah
[01:01:39] um
[01:01:40] No, this this is just a good instruction actually. This is a good roadmap to life
[01:01:44] You know like planting financially
[01:01:47] Yeah, it's a time to do everything in here time to keep in the time throw away
[01:01:53] Right before new years we clean our house every year. I don't know if you guys do that we do that we get rid of everything
[01:01:59] My husband has a hard time getting rid of almost everything there's something
[01:02:05] So um now but we do it
[01:02:07] We always bringing the new year with whatever is in the house is what we need what we use
[01:02:12] If we don't use it if it's a what if if it's still got price tag on it
[01:02:15] It goes. I mean, no goodwill gets everything
[01:02:18] So this year he just loaded up my truck
[01:02:20] Yeah, we don't go into the new caring things. We don't need
[01:02:24] You know, let's that was a season. Let's give this away and maybe it'll help somebody else in their season so

[01:03:09] The challenges is when you talk about spiritual growth dice are our challenging because people
[01:03:13] Don't want to trust the process
[01:03:17] I remember
[01:03:19] My past shots out to my pastor my bishop dr. R.A. Vernon
[01:03:23] The word church he was talking to me
[01:03:26] When I was literally going through a tough tough
[01:03:30] Financial season in my life
[01:03:33] I talk about it all the time. I'm shout out to coach a shock entertainment
[01:03:37] The architect I would have never met him and I would have never gotten the purpose in radio had I not had
[01:03:44] Real talk I sat down with my pastor. I said look
[01:03:48] I'm kind of thinking that managing money
[01:03:50] It's very clear. I had to be very transparent with him
[01:03:53] We're in a rough season. We in all this debt you keep preaching about it
[01:03:57] I need some help in this area. I need you to give me some some practical things not only descriptors
[01:04:02] But I need to be disciplined in this area and shout out to my wife because when chief side down we both we sat down together with him
[01:04:09] He poured into us and that's what fueled us to say, you know what?
[01:04:13] You know you preach that powerful word
[01:04:15] We gonna stop being hypocrites. We're gonna actually do it
[01:04:18] And then to God be the glory we were able to get out of debt and
[01:04:23] You know that financial freedom is some totally different guys when you feel that financial freedom that burden
[01:04:28] Of not having that that burden on you
[01:04:31] It's like a
[01:04:32] Released like a lift or a weight off your shoulders
[01:04:35] But but again, I'm serious when I say I what I at first before I went and talked me and my wife wouldn't talk to our pastor
[01:04:43] I could not just even found them trusting the process of really sacrificing almost two years
[01:04:49] Of not doing nothing and when I say nothing nothing
[01:04:53] We we ain't go nowhere. We ain't had no date nights
[01:04:56] We ain't by each other no gifts for birthdays christmas is holidays when I say nothing
[01:05:01] I mean nothing every single dollar that came into the house we put on debt
[01:05:07] And that was rough
[01:05:09] In my mind until I got the momentum. I got going
[01:05:12] I got going and I promised you God. I promise you that was a tough season
[01:05:17] In my life that I know without the power of God
[01:05:22] I would have never been able to get through that. I ain't nowhere in the world
[01:05:24] I'm just beyond I would have never been able to get through that season
[01:05:27] So shout out to everybody listen first Jesus Christ
[01:05:30] But also shout out to my pastor and did yeah shout out to me and my wife me and my wife
[01:05:35] We we always championed each other like you listen here
[01:05:37] We did that it was tough. We did that
[01:05:41] That's good
[01:05:41] Yeah, I'm proud of you guys. I mean you talk about a lot and I think people need to talk about it more like let people know
[01:05:48] They've been there done that
[01:05:50] You know, I mean as I said we definitely went through that season of and for those of you who
[01:05:56] You still haven't started making the money you want to make
[01:06:00] Um
[01:06:01] Lesson learn
[01:06:02] Have your heart rate
[01:06:03] Sometimes I didn't even about the money though. I sometimes it's about you discipline yourself
[01:06:07] You might have enough money in your house. You just want to sacrifice to get there
[01:06:11] Well, that's that was my point. I was about to make I'm glad you made it
[01:06:14] Yeah, maybe you haven't made the money you want to make
[01:06:17] But what I was gonna say was what focus said work on your discipline before you get there because let me
[01:06:23] Be a thousand percent sure which you what happens when you get the money is you blow it?
[01:06:27] Yep, you make horrible choices and decisions
[01:06:30] And like I can't tell you how many times we had to eat crow because it was like oh, I got this. Oh, I got that
[01:06:35] Dude, I'm just gonna I'm just doing my I'm doing the most
[01:06:38] Oh, I want this what is crow? Where I mean eat crow eat crumbies
[01:06:42] You nobody wants to eat a crow is disgusting. You know, I'm saying so it's a saying it's called
[01:06:46] Okay, I got yeah, you gotta eat crow. So it's like
[01:06:49] Yeah, woo yeah, what you doing you know involved six cars 20 TVs, you know saying you know
[01:06:55] I'm saying you to 50 pair of Nike's like like you just do stuff when you
[01:07:00] Nice. I need these dice. I need my blood oh Santa is focus. I'm just joking dice
[01:07:06] Well, I'm saying it's as I sit in the room with four right more flat screens right now
[01:07:12] We don't eat now now that
[01:07:14] I was like the only other place we could put it to flat screen right now is above the tub
[01:07:18] And I just refuse to have one in the bag. I'm just over it. Okay, and it would be nice
[01:07:23] But I'm just I would never get my husband back because we have jets in there. So that's all like he would never come out
[01:07:28] It'd just be up in there
[01:07:29] Oh lord and God bless y'all for those of you who have that in your house
[01:07:32] He's seen it and just stop posting your photo because we're not doing it, but I'm just saying
[01:07:38] That's why I love this passage
[01:07:41] If you know a season is coming you're able to prepare
[01:07:44] Like we didn't know
[01:07:46] My husband he lost a job for 10 months when I met him
[01:07:49] I didn't know he would ever make over six figures. I you know, I'm like he broke with we got four kids like you got three
[01:07:55] What are we doing you know living my mom's what do you mean we'll be able to do open
[01:07:59] You know so it's like but we'd never prepared our hearts for the discipline
[01:08:04] So it was like when the Lord began to bless
[01:08:09] Just buy stuff you ain't never been able to buy because that's hood mentality. Oh, I ain't never been able to have that
[01:08:13] I'm just you know saying oh
[01:08:15] And you're not thinking like God was blessing you you were getting pruned because he was preparing to bless you
[01:08:22] And you blew it when he blessed you so now you got started all over and I just wanted to share that story life
[01:08:27] Starting over is painful
[01:08:29] When you when you when you yeah, when you reflect on the blessing God gave you like I just squandered that you know
[01:08:35] I'm saying I literally you gave it I begged for it. I prayed for you gave it because we sacrificed
[01:08:40] And then I got in my head that I didn't need you anymore
[01:08:44] Because I had the money that I have been praying for so that's just a word for somebody
[01:08:48] concerning ecclesiastes talking about there is a season to everything like even if you
[01:08:55] You know get yourself in a place financially. Don't mean you're not gonna have a bad season
[01:08:58] Like these seasons are still gonna come like they they coming for you, you know
[01:09:02] But I love we didn't talk about this part of this focus is when we're talking about navigating life's divine seasons
[01:09:07] What about the good seasons?
[01:09:10] Yes, are you documenting those
[01:09:12] Yes, are you are you living it like some of some people would be like oh I get blessed
[01:09:16] But I don't want to I'm trying to celebrate
[01:09:19] Every time we went in a ward every time we got a show to go to every time we got a
[01:09:24] Every time we on the stage, you know, I'm jumping on a step like I'm like this my moment
[01:09:29] I gotta I gotta matter. I gotta I'm gonna eat this moment right here because
[01:09:33] There will be another season
[01:09:36] It's coming and so every
[01:09:39] Celebration or opportunity every opportunity to grow and and fix a relationship when you have that next family reunion
[01:09:45] You like me. I don't know if I'm seeing my uncle ever again
[01:09:47] Let me try to fix that mend it because there is a time where you go have to tear away from some relationships
[01:09:54] You know every time you're around somebody at a birthday party and they key key in a laughing
[01:09:58] You like oh, I want to go there and key key go over there and key
[01:10:02] Go key key go laugh go cut it up
[01:10:04] Because there there's gonna be another season that's not gonna be so celebratory
[01:10:09] And so it's like if you if you really get into your word you have you got everything in front of you. God is like please, you know
[01:10:17] There's gonna be a time to
[01:10:19] Heal something so get yourself in a position to be able to heal a situation
[01:10:25] You know
[01:10:26] There's gonna
[01:10:27] Come a time where you gonna get hurt, you know, and so that's what I'm like
[01:10:31] Celebrate the win celebrate each day, but be intentional when you are in the season and you're like okay
[01:10:37] I feel pretty good today. Okay. Well if you feel good call 10 people and check on them
[01:10:41] Mm-hmm yeah cuz they're gonna be a day when you wake up. You know, I don't even feel like yeah
[01:10:46] So seasonally, I love that we have
[01:10:49] The book of Ecclesiastes and I
[01:10:53] Love chapter three so
[01:10:55] I'm glad we I'm glad we talked about this today
[01:10:57] But it's it goes both ways be happy when it's happy seasons on
[01:11:03] And to that be happy season the beautiful thing about being happy when you up
[01:11:07] Listen and encourage others in their season be a source of encouragement to others
[01:11:11] And help them navigate through the seasons to support them with wisdom love or resources or just be a part of the collective journey
[01:11:19] As they go up to as well or might need help to get to the place where you at so encourage others
[01:11:24] That's a that's a beautiful thing about being a part of the community being part of the body
[01:11:28] Absolutely once you get up once you you know get into a place where you celebrate
[01:11:33] The other two is well. That's why we always try to get roses on here to everybody that we talk to no
[01:11:38] No, cuz I want to salute you just like you should want us to loop me
[01:11:41] So yeah make sure we encourage others we believers. That's a part of showing love
[01:11:46] Shows after all y'all who believe in you know, God's command not mine

[01:12:12] So I think some people want to know why why does it got to do this? Why do we have to go through the seasons and I know for a fact
[01:12:20] It's so we remember him and so and for him to get our attention and

[01:12:25] It's a season for everything concerning you know what we're talking about today, but
[01:12:30] Galatians 6 and 9 says and let us not be weary and well doing for induced season. We shall reap
[01:12:37] If we faint not like God has constantly given us
[01:12:40] Encouragement from a biblical perspective of I'm here
[01:12:44] But there is a process, you know that these seasons there's a process happening
[01:12:49] um
