[00:02:19] Be intentional to capture every thought that would want to cause you to have a spirit of fear

[00:02:30] If it's something uh, God's been puttin' your spirit of business to start or something to go do, maybe relocate or just anything

[00:15:01] West Hollywood growing up and then after the age of

[00:15:03] 8 I was in mid-city LA

[00:15:05] And my father

[00:15:07] Is very Catholic

[00:15:09] Grew up with Catholic traditional

[00:15:11] Background and my mother

[00:15:13] Is very Christian

[00:15:15] So there was always this like

[00:15:17] Diacotomy between the two

[00:15:19] And you know growing up

[00:15:21] I would I was going to Catholic schools

[00:15:23] Throughout LA and but on Sunday

[00:15:25] I always wanted to go with my mom

[00:15:27] And so that obviously caused a bit of

[00:15:29] Tension in the family and their relationship

[00:15:31] Because he took pride in

[00:15:33] You know being Catholic

[00:15:35] And at the age of 9 I had actually

[00:15:37] Gone to I believe it

[00:15:39] I don't know if it's the Calvary Chapel

[00:15:41] Chains of I don't know Frank

[00:15:43] Past story before he passed

[00:15:45] We used to always listen to his radio stations

[00:15:47] And I was

[00:15:49] I remember I went to a service

[00:15:51] And they did an altar call and at the age of 9

[00:15:53] I was like I want to go up like I want to give

[00:15:55] My life to Christ

[00:15:57] Obviously since then there were some turns

[00:15:59] I always had I always

[00:16:01] Had a love for the Lord

[00:16:03] That's something I can say

[00:16:05] But obviously as a teen I did my

[00:16:07] Thing I tried reading the Bible

[00:16:09] It didn't make sense to me I was like man

[00:16:11] This stuff is boring I don't understand this

[00:16:13] At the age of

[00:16:15] 16 though

[00:16:17] Well at the age of 14

[00:16:19] Unfortunately I got into a very

[00:16:21] Inappropriate relationship with a guy

[00:16:23] 3 years older than me and that lasted

[00:16:25] All the way until about 16

[00:16:27] And when I was 16

[00:16:29] This is a part of my testimony

[00:16:31] It's in my song vulnerable that a lot of people

[00:16:33] Thought you know not a lot

[00:16:35] But a good amount of people it actually got

[00:16:37] Some backlash because people thought it was too

[00:16:39] Detailed because it's my story though

[00:16:41] Like I'm not going to hide my story

[00:16:43] I was um

[00:16:45] It's a crazy story but I

[00:16:47] Was just having had sex with this guy

[00:16:49] I was

[00:16:51] Naked I was in the back of a car

[00:16:53] We were chilling and all of a sudden

[00:16:55] I just start crying

[00:16:57] And I don't know why

[00:16:59] I'm crying because I'm not sad

[00:17:01] So I'm just crying crying crying

[00:17:03] And it's inexplainable

[00:17:05] And after that point

[00:17:07] I was just like scared because I was like

[00:17:09] Why am I crying? And after that point

[00:17:11] I heard a voice in my mind and it was

[00:17:13] It was loud as day the Holy Spirit

[00:17:15] Was like what are you doing

[00:17:17] Get out of this situation

[00:17:19] You're lying to yourself

[00:17:21] You're lying to your parents

[00:17:23] Like get out and after that point

[00:17:25] I ended that relationship

[00:17:27] Um and by the age of

[00:17:29] 17 I got

[00:17:31] My first prophetic word from a pastor

[00:17:33] And that was actually the same night

[00:17:35] My husband I didn't know at the time

[00:17:37] Also got a prophetic word because we went to the same

[00:17:39] High school together and that

[00:17:41] I think once

[00:17:43] Once those two things happened

[00:17:45] That's when I was like okay God is intimate

[00:17:47] God knows me he's not just this thing

[00:17:49] That I worship and go to church

[00:17:51] To serve like I know he's a part of my life

[00:17:53] And then at the age of 18

[00:17:55] Was when I almost signed a record deal

[00:17:57] And God said no

[00:17:59] And then all hell broke loose in my life

[00:18:01] The devil I think was really trying to make me

[00:18:03] Regret that decision and I came out on the other end

[00:18:05] And that's when I stepped into

[00:18:07] Purpose like okay now I gave

[00:18:09] Something up for God

[00:18:11] And I want to make music for him now

[00:18:13] So it's kind of like a three

[00:18:15] Story

[00:18:17] Three part story if that makes sense

[00:18:19] But yeah I got there

[00:18:21] By the age of 18

[00:18:23] So okay yes

[00:18:25] This testimony is amazing

[00:18:27] In the midst of you

[00:18:29] Committing a sin

[00:18:31] You know having sex

[00:18:33] God spoke to you

[00:18:35] One

[00:18:37] I'm assuming the gentleman was close to you

[00:18:39] Still there too is why you were crying

[00:18:41] Yeah but I actually turned

[00:18:43] The other way and I was

[00:18:45] Solving but he had no idea

[00:18:47] So that's why people ask me I'm like no

[00:18:49] He had no idea

[00:18:51] He probably to this day doesn't speak anymore

[00:19:29] Take us through the process of you transforming

[00:19:37] Let's be very clear

[00:19:41] Like you I feel like a heathen

[00:19:43] Because I'm like I ain't even get myself together

[00:19:45] So I was about 28 29 years old

[00:19:51] Y'all teaching Bible studies

[00:19:53] And stuff I'm like wow so just

[00:19:55] You know just speak to that and the transformation

[00:19:57] Obviously it wasn't that hard for you

[00:20:05] I was throughout that whole

[00:20:07] Relationship like I was already convicted

[00:20:09] Like I was betting over

[00:20:11] Backwards trying to figure out ways to lie to my parents

[00:20:13] Like telling them I'm staying at my best friend's

[00:20:15] House I'm really at this guy's house

[00:20:17] Like I was literally living

[00:20:19] Like a double life

[00:20:21] And for what

[00:20:23] I had no peace I was

[00:20:25] Scared of being caught

[00:20:27] I wasn't happy

[00:20:29] With this guy either

[00:20:31] It was just it was way too

[00:20:33] Adult of a relationship for me to have been

[00:20:35] And at that age like it was way too adult

[00:20:37] We were already felt

[00:20:39] Like I thought in my mind I was going to marry this guy

[00:20:41] It was just too much going on

[00:20:43] So I think once that point hit

[00:20:45] I was just like it was such a sobering moment

[00:20:47] Like what am I doing

[00:20:49] What am I doing

[00:20:51] Crazy was while I was in the relationship

[00:20:53] He had a very unfortunately

[00:20:55] He had a very um sorry

[00:20:57] Let me turn off my notifications real quick

[00:21:01] Unfortunate series of events

[00:21:03] Happened in his life his mother passed at

[00:21:05] Age of 16 his father wasn't

[00:21:07] In his life there's just a lot

[00:21:09] Of death and there was a lot of death in his

[00:21:11] Family and I remember

[00:21:13] Once I was at his house and I was just saying like

[00:21:41] Like in my mind I think that

[00:21:43] People had the same upbringing as me

[00:21:45] Like okay like everyone kind of

[00:21:47] Has some more of a foundation like God is real

[00:21:49] Surely

[00:21:51] So I think that was once that moment hit

[00:21:53] I was like wait what up I was like wait

[00:21:55] Like this this you don't believe in God

[00:21:57] Like what so I think

[00:21:59] Once fast forward to 16

[00:22:01] I think I was just I was just done

[00:22:03] Like I was like wait like this doesn't make sense

[00:22:05] Dude's already off in college like

[00:22:07] I was starting to mature a little more

[00:22:09] Realizing I could do better in a lot of ways

[00:22:11] I was like wait so I think God

[00:22:13] I honestly saw it as God saving me

[00:22:15] Because like I really truly

[00:22:17] Do believe like

[00:22:19] I just can't even

[00:22:21] Imagine what my life would have looked like

[00:22:23] Like you know that one part of your story

[00:22:25] Where it always gets you down on your knees

[00:22:27] Like thank you Jesus like that's me

[00:22:29] Because it's like I would never be married to the

[00:22:31] Incredible handsome

[00:22:33] Spirit led wonderful amazing

[00:22:35] Man I have now if I stayed with that dude

[00:22:37] Because I genuinely think I would have become like a baby mama

[00:22:39] Like just being super frill

[00:22:41] Like I really I really wonder

[00:22:43] Was saving me before a life changing moment

[00:22:45] Could have happened I don't know so

[00:22:47] I think I already had that that build up

[00:22:49] Mind you I wasn't perfect

[00:22:51] After that point I was 16

[00:22:53] I decided I wasn't gonna smoke anymore

[00:22:55] I decided

[00:22:57] And that was only

[00:22:59] Mind you that was only for a year but

[00:23:01] I said I said they just said I'm not gonna smoke

[00:23:03] I'm not gonna be in a relationship with a guy

[00:23:05] Especially if I'm not gonna have sex with a guy before marriage

[00:23:07] Like I kind of like came to someone

[00:23:09] Of a foundation but I was still very immature

[00:23:11] And so then at 17 once I got prophesied over

[00:23:14] That by that pastor I was like wait like

[00:23:17] He had his prophetic word was like

[00:23:19] All these women in the Bible that I'm gonna be like

[00:23:23] You're gonna be like Hannah you're gonna praise the Lord

[00:23:25] Before you know before he even gives you

[00:23:27] The things you need you're gonna be like moved

[00:23:29] You're gonna be like Esther so he was just like declaring

[00:23:31] All these like things of like virtuous

[00:23:33] Woman over me and so at that point

[00:23:35] I was like wait like

[00:23:37] God like has like a plan like he

[00:23:39] Is not just trying to save me out of things like he like

[00:23:41] He like has a plan

[00:23:43] And so I still didn't understand the fullness of that

[00:23:45] By starting going to churches I got super involved

[00:23:47] Throughout LA like just everything I was just like

[00:23:50] Always going to different churches and events and stuff

[00:23:52] And then at 18

[00:23:54] That I will say at 18

[00:23:56] Cause I was still slipping up at at 18

[00:23:58] Like when I had when

[00:24:00] I really felt like I finally reached my dream

[00:24:03] Of getting a development deal

[00:24:05] I think that's when I was like okay God like

[00:24:07] I gave this up for you like I would be a fool

[00:24:10] To continue it's like how are you gonna

[00:24:12] It's like for me it's like why would you break up with

[00:24:14] The unbeliever for God just to start dating another

[00:24:17] Unbeliever it's like you might as well just

[00:24:19] Would have stayed with the first guy so it's like in my mind

[00:24:21] I'm like okay I gave up this huge thing for me

[00:24:23] That was my dream that I thought you gave to me

[00:24:25] But you told me not to do it so I would

[00:24:27] Be a fool to like continue

[00:24:29] Being disobedient and in that same area

[00:24:32] Like it's like not like okay you told me

[00:24:34] To give this up so I'm gonna I'm gonna

[00:24:36] Go do this now for you like I'm gonna figure out a way

[00:24:38] To make Christian music that'll glorify you

[00:24:41] And yeah I guess the rest is

[00:24:44] History it's a now

[00:24:47] That makes sense

[00:25:08] To a lot of people you sacrificed a lot

[00:26:00] In Santa Monica

[00:26:02] And so I started going there

[00:26:04] He was a freshman I was a sophomore

[00:26:06] I'm actually younger than him

[00:26:08] But I started school year early so people be thinking like

[00:26:10] Oh he was cool girl like no no no no

[00:26:12] He's older I just was a greater book

[00:26:14] So sophomore year he's a freshman

[00:26:16] I see him I'm like

[00:26:18] Okay whatever cool

[00:26:20] I was actually with the other dude while

[00:26:22] I was going to school with this guy

[00:26:24] Cause right I was up until 16

[00:26:26] So I never looked at Justin that way

[00:26:28] I was just like okay whatever

[00:26:30] So it wasn't until the night I was a senior

[00:26:32] In high school I was 17 the prophetic night

[00:26:34] When that guy

[00:26:36] The prophet man

[00:26:38] He comes up to it was so crazy

[00:26:40] So this is my first open bias to see that Justin

[00:26:42] Was like actually like a suitor

[00:26:44] You know so I see Justin

[00:26:46] Getting prophesied over at this church

[00:26:48] And I was like oh my gosh

[00:26:50] Like good for him like he was like

[00:26:52] My bro like we weren't even like friends friends

[00:26:54] Like that we were just school acquaintances I was like oh

[00:26:56] Good for him like that's so dope

[00:26:58] That he got chosen out of like all these people

[00:27:00] To get prophesied over

[00:27:02] And mind you at our church like this was a big deal

[00:27:04] Because there was a this guy was a visitor

[00:27:06] So everyone and people

[00:27:08] Not like people who weren't regular church

[00:27:10] Goers were there because

[00:27:12] Everyone wanted the prophetic word so the house

[00:27:14] Was like packed and so

[00:27:16] He gets prophesied over the guy

[00:27:18] Comes to the top his name I believe

[00:27:20] I actually I'm not gonna say his name cause I forgot

[00:27:22] I don't want to say it wrong but he comes up

[00:27:24] He was like ooh I sense a sister

[00:27:26] And he swims through the crowd

[00:27:28] Like mind you he's literally he's like

[00:27:30] A really tall dude swimming through looking right at me

[00:27:32] And in my mind I'm like please don't come up to me

[00:27:34] Cause I was just so embarrassed and he put his hand on me

[00:27:36] Cause I didn't look at you that day

[00:27:38] And I honestly didn't know it at the time

[00:27:40] But I was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit

[00:27:42] So I was actually laughing

[00:27:44] And so I it was like a kind of like this

[00:27:46] This uncontrollable laughter like I was just like

[00:27:48] Filled with so much joy and so I was like

[00:27:50] I really don't want attention to me right now

[00:27:52] I'm laughing I was just so I was so embarrassed

[00:27:54] But he puts his hand on me and he prophesied

[00:27:56] So at the end of the night I was like wait

[00:27:58] Me and Justin were the only two high schoolers

[00:28:00] Prophecyed over this night and it was like

[00:28:02] The church was full of high schoolers

[00:28:04] And I thought that was interesting

[00:28:06] Justin thinks I'm crazy but that night

[00:28:08] I wrote in my journal Justin is gonna be my husband

[00:28:10] So I personally

[00:28:12] I know I personally

[00:28:14] Don't remember writing that

[00:28:16] Um but I did

[00:28:18] So we were once looking through my old journals

[00:28:20] Together and I was like

[00:28:22] Wait like he was like you wrote that

[00:28:24] I was like oh my gosh I did

[00:28:26] So I started having a crush on him

[00:28:28] From that moment on because I felt like

[00:28:30] In my spirit I just like it was really

[00:28:32] Divine that out of all the high schoolers

[00:28:34] We were the only ones

[00:28:36] I just thought that was really interesting

[00:28:38] So we start building a friendship

[00:28:40] Um yeah we're just building

[00:28:42] I had told God at that point

[00:28:44] I said the next man I date I want to marry

[00:28:46] And I said I wanted to be an organic friendship

[00:28:48] That's how I always I didn't want to like

[00:28:50] Date around from person to person

[00:28:52] I just wanted to like

[00:28:54] Build a friendship so

[00:28:56] Yeah we start going to youth groups together all the time

[00:28:58] And then yeah that summer

[00:29:00] Uh that summer

[00:29:02] Yeah that summer we just started

[00:29:04] Officially dating but um

[00:29:06] Our story is also it's not like

[00:29:08] A fairy tale because

[00:29:10] God was actually telling us

[00:29:12] To not be together

[00:29:14] At that time

[00:29:16] It was too early I think God wanted us to develop things

[00:29:20] In ourselves but we were

[00:29:22] Being disobedient so it was

[00:29:24] We were like literally an off and on relationship

[00:29:26] Not because we were toxic

[00:29:28] But because we would get together

[00:29:30] And we'd be like ugh like

[00:29:32] I feel in my heart like God doesn't want us together right now

[00:29:34] And he would feel the same but then we'd break up

[00:29:36] And then we'd but then we

[00:29:38] We liked each other so much we'd feel like

[00:29:40] Oh we can still be friends and we'd still go to church together

[00:29:42] And we'd still like hang out and then

[00:29:44] It was like it was a whole mess

[00:29:46] Um he got accepted into UCLA

[00:29:48] Um that same night is when

[00:29:50] He like God was putting it on his heart real bad

[00:29:52] Like this really needs to end

[00:29:54] Like you need to finish this

[00:29:56] Um and I was just so scared

[00:29:58] Because I was like God why would you bring such an amazing guy to my life

[00:30:00] Like just to like not

[00:30:02] You know just like if he's not meant for me

[00:30:04] Like why

[00:30:06] I was just so sad

[00:30:08] So there's a video of us crying

[00:30:10] Saying bye to each other like

[00:30:12] But then we still ended up back together a month later

[00:30:14] Like we were just all over the place

[00:30:16] Like we just didn't know

[00:30:18] How to fully surrender

[00:30:20] Surrender

[00:30:22] Surrender each other

[00:30:24] But at that point I had prayed for God

[00:30:26] To confirm whether or not he was my husband

[00:30:28] Because I was like God I just need to know if I let him go

[00:30:30] Like is he coming back or not

[00:30:32] Like should I have my hopes up or not

[00:30:34] And luckily God

[00:30:36] Blessedly God gave me the confirmation I needed to know

[00:30:38] He was my husband

[00:30:40] So we finally didn't talk for a few months

[00:30:44] Um and

[00:30:46] That was in now I believe

[00:30:48] 2019 yeah 2019

[00:30:50] We didn't talk he was at UCLA

[00:30:52] And that was actually when I went through my own trial

[00:30:54] That was when I went through capital records

[00:30:56] That was like my isolation season

[00:30:58] Um

[00:31:00] I really grew with the Lord

[00:31:02] Like I was going I was just on my mission

[00:31:04] And um he

[00:31:06] Was actually feeling from the Lord

[00:31:08] That he was going through his own

[00:31:10] Like I think God wanted us to go through our own testing

[00:31:12] Without each other

[00:31:14] Um so that it would be just us and him

[00:31:16] So

[00:31:18] At that point um he calls me one night

[00:31:20] It's really random and I tell him everything

[00:31:22] I'm like yo you won't believe what happened

[00:31:24] Like I was gonna sign to this deal

[00:31:26] And then God said no and then all these terrible things

[00:31:28] Happened and but now I just

[00:31:30] Feel like so much joy and peace

[00:31:32] Like I know like I was just sharing

[00:31:34] Like it was so new and fresh

[00:31:36] And I was like he won't like I was just sharing

[00:31:38] And he got so convicted because he was like

[00:31:40] God's been telling me to leave UCLA

[00:31:42] And I haven't been doing it

[00:31:44] So he's like

[00:31:46] I need to go I need to go pray

[00:31:48] And he says this now he's like

[00:31:50] I really think you saved me because like

[00:31:52] UCLA was just not where he

[00:31:54] Was meant to be and he

[00:31:56] Saw himself slowly slipping into like

[00:31:58] You know like just the culture there

[00:32:00] Um you know it's

[00:32:02] Not godly so he was like

[00:32:04] Yeah and so after that point

[00:32:06] He drops out he goes to the zoo's a pacific with me

[00:32:08] And mind you everyone's looking at him like

[00:32:10] So you just left UCLA

[00:32:12] To go be with your girlfriend and he's like

[00:32:14] No like I didn't leave UCLA for Trina

[00:32:16] Like I did not like God told me

[00:32:18] But obviously no one really believed him

[00:32:20] Except maybe like his mother

[00:32:22] Because she's a believer

[00:32:24] Um so long story short

[00:32:26] This is at the end of

[00:32:28] 2019 um oh no this

[00:32:30] Is now 2020 right before covid hits

[00:32:32] Um I go off to South Africa

[00:32:34] For a study abroad program

[00:32:36] And so I'm in I'm there up until

[00:32:38] Um about March

[00:32:40] And that's when covid calls us all back

[00:32:42] And I that was also

[00:32:44] An isolation season for me

[00:32:46] Where I just spent a lot of time with the lord and with all these girls

[00:32:48] And I don't know one

[00:32:50] One day god while I was in Africa

[00:32:52] God just told me like go outside

[00:32:54] And go right and so I go outside

[00:32:56] And I start writing and what I'm writing

[00:32:58] Starts to become vows

[00:33:00] Like I'm just journaling up and like all of a sudden it's like

[00:33:02] Vows to Justin

[00:33:04] And I'm like why why like

[00:33:06] The tangible presence of God was just

[00:33:08] With Jesus was like it's like we were like

[00:33:10] Giggling together we will we were

[00:33:12] Fellowshiping together and I was like

[00:33:14] Jesus you really have me writing vows right now

[00:33:16] Like and so we just

[00:33:18] And I start talking about it like

[00:33:20] We were just like asking like do you

[00:33:22] Feel like it's possible for God to want us

[00:33:24] To get married now and like we honestly

[00:33:26] Both felt that confirmation in our spirits

[00:33:28] We both felt like

[00:33:30] We knew we were young

[00:33:32] We were reading up on a lot of books

[00:33:34] We were pursuing like marriage like mentoring

[00:33:36] And just other resources and stuff like that

[00:33:38] Pre-marital mentoring and like

[00:33:40] I don't know we just knew what we wanted

[00:33:42] And it was always my dream to get married young

[00:33:44] And start a family young

[00:33:46] I'm not a mother but I hope to be

[00:33:48] Sometime soon whenever God wills it

[00:33:50] But I've always just wanted to like

[00:33:52] Create my own culture my own legacy

[00:33:54] Like create something with someone

[00:33:56] And like just let that build

[00:33:58] I've always wanted just like a big family

[00:34:00] And so I knew I just always knew what I wanted

[00:34:02] And so I knew he was what I wanted

[00:34:04] He knew the same so when I

[00:34:06] Landed back mind you

[00:34:08] LA looked like Gotham when I came back because

[00:34:10] It was COVID and we missed

[00:34:12] So much already like the whole toilet paper thing

[00:34:14] We weren't there for that so we're coming

[00:34:16] Back and it's like the streets are empty

[00:34:18] It's on a Monday I'm like I'm like almost

[00:34:20] I'm like oh my gosh like

[00:34:22] Y'all like I didn't understand the gravity

[00:34:24] Of what COVID was like in the states because

[00:34:26] In Africa everyone was like who cares

[00:34:28] It was South Africa at least and so

[00:34:30] I was like wait what

[00:34:32] And I get back we get back to

[00:34:34] Our college

[00:34:36] Justin meets me out there

[00:34:38] He meets me there he walks me around

[00:34:40] Blindfolded takes me to the

[00:34:42] Colleges Rose Garden and that's where

[00:34:44] He proposed and

[00:34:46] Yeah then we got married

[00:34:48] In August of 2020

[00:34:50] So yeah

[00:34:52] It's a craze

[00:36:26] I still like I just made things that came from my heart

[00:36:28] And obviously the things that came from my heart

[00:36:30] Were the values of God the virtues of God

[00:36:32] I wasn't talking about

[00:36:34] Sexual sensual stuff I wasn't

[00:36:36] Talking about anything provocative

[00:36:38] Or unholy it was just like all

[00:36:40] All about either me or God

[00:36:52] Justin also while I was in South Africa

[00:36:54] He was um starting to become

[00:36:56] An audio engineer so he started

[00:36:58] Audio engineering he started like

[00:37:00] Playing around with it um

[00:37:02] He realized that he could actually do it

[00:37:04] And so during COVID he built his own business

[00:37:06] And so we were always having people

[00:37:08] Coming in and out of the house

[00:37:10] All these rappers and all these people

[00:37:12] And he was the one who actually really helped

[00:37:14] Cultivate my gifts like

[00:37:16] He would be like yo you should try rapping

[00:37:18] I'd be like no I can't rap bro I can't rap

[00:37:20] Like stop playing with me like I'm a singer

[00:37:22] And he would be like okay

[00:37:24] But over time so like

[00:37:26] He bought all the equipment we needed

[00:37:28] Pretty much and it was for

[00:37:30] Obviously for the business but also for ourselves

[00:37:32] So I would in my house

[00:37:34] We kind of had our own setup um in LA

[00:37:36] And so yeah I was just

[00:37:38] That's kind of how I recorded my first album

[00:37:40] That was in a bad mood now I'm not

[00:37:42] That's where I recorded it in our house

[00:37:44] And actually the song that I didn't

[00:37:46] Think was going to be the biggest hit

[00:37:48] Like it was such a nonchalant song

[00:37:50] So I'm shocked it's my number one how they

[00:37:52] Gonna stand um with Justin

[00:37:54] Um we recorded that on our honeymoon

[00:37:56] So we brought our mics uh to Hawaii

[00:37:58] And we just like recorded

[00:38:00] There and that

[00:38:02] Was my first time rapping like

[00:38:04] I was like going in my

[00:38:06] Like little baby type flow

[00:38:10] Like I was just like rapping and he was like

[00:38:30] Like Heartbreak Taylor Swift type songs

[00:38:32] Like I think I'm a pop artist at heart

[00:38:34] And so like I'm kind of also dabbling into

[00:38:36] A bunch of like heartbreak songs

[00:38:38] As like a middle school or elementary school

[00:38:40] And I'm like why was I doing all that

[00:38:42] But yeah so I started

[00:38:44] Um taking it

[00:38:46] Yeah right after I think right around COVID

[00:38:48] Is when I was just making like I was just

[00:38:50] Making a lot of music and I really owe

[00:38:52] That to Justin because he was the one who was like

[00:38:54] Pushing me he was the one who

[00:38:56] Was like we need to get you this equipment

[00:38:58] I'm gonna mix this for you uh make content

[00:39:00] Justin's always been very consistent

[00:39:02] And just he just

[00:39:04] Has an incredible drive

[00:39:06] And so I didn't really have that

[00:39:08] I've developed it now um

[00:39:10] But he was the one who helped me

[00:39:12] Like realized okay if I'm gonna do this

[00:39:14] I need to take this seriously

[00:39:56] I was so disappointed by the state

[00:40:36] But especially during COVID that was like okay we out

[00:40:38] And they have it returned and so it's like

[00:40:40] People my age are saying they

[00:40:42] Never want to step into a church why

[00:40:44] Because there's no relatability

[00:40:46] And so it's like if we're saying that

[00:40:48] Christian rap concerts and this that the third

[00:40:50] Is going to be outreach we have to do our part

[00:40:52] In understanding what do they need

[00:40:54] What are they experiencing when

[00:40:56] I've been to clubs the lights

[00:40:58] The sound system everything is

[00:41:00] Popping it's dope and it's like

[00:41:02] Comparing that to a church that has

[00:41:04] You know maybe no LED lights maybe it has

[00:41:06] It just it's just not the same

[00:41:08] And so I think I really I believe

[00:41:10] That the people of God deserve as good

[00:41:12] As a venue space for their artistry

[00:41:14] As secular artists and like we deserve

[00:41:16] As good as a crowd

[00:41:18] As secular artists we deserve more

[00:41:20] Facts facts facts

[00:41:22] We have music fired by the divine

[00:41:24] Why are we not getting more

[00:41:26] So I think I was really discouraged

[00:41:28] By the state so it kind of bleeds into that

[00:41:30] But I honestly had to come to the terms

[00:41:32] Come to terms with the fact that everyone in the crowd

[00:41:34] Doesn't know my music and so I wanted

[00:41:36] To make something catchy

[00:41:38] That was also like a prophetic declaration

[00:41:40] For the people of God to like

[00:41:42] Receive things because I know once

[00:41:44] I forget who but I was listening

[00:41:46] It was somewhere on

[00:44:26] What genre this is so I listened to her beat

[00:44:36] I was like I feel like I can do that

[00:44:38] So I just like went on logic

[00:47:26] And it just didn't make sense so I kind of like

[00:47:30] And I had spoken with Bryce G a bit

[00:47:32] We're like okay just that's like in the

[00:47:40] It just kind of hit me and Justin at the same time

[00:47:44] And he was like I feel it on my heart

[00:48:08] He gave us everything

[00:48:10] Everything we know is from the foundation

[00:48:16] Don't get the venue first make sure you actually have

[00:48:18] A you know an audience

[00:48:20] So we followed his system

[00:48:22] We got we posted it on Instagram

[00:48:24] Praise God our first video hit over a million

[00:48:26] Views it went absolutely viral

[00:48:28] And that's how we started getting

[00:48:30] We off from the first post

[00:48:32] We had like 500 plus people on a waitlist

[00:48:34] Like 500 people already

[00:48:36] We're saying you know and so

[00:48:38] From there Justin is honestly

[00:48:40] A marketing genius

[00:48:42] And so he knows what gets people to stay

[00:48:44] He knows how to film things

[00:48:46] So you know he was running our Instagram

[00:48:48] And so he was just every day pumping out

[00:48:50] Every single day a real day

[00:48:52] And um yeah from there

[00:48:54] I think we got

[00:48:56] We got all the people we needed God

[00:48:58] Really provided like God

[00:49:00] Really really really provided

[00:49:02] This last one especially because

[00:49:04] I was a little nervous with the amount of help we would get

[00:49:06] But so many people stayed to help

[00:49:08] We have a lot of volunteers who are just like incredible

[00:49:10] Um we have a smaller

[00:49:12] Amount that are really consistent and they're like our dream team

[00:49:14] So yeah it's been

[00:49:16] I think we just saw the state

[00:49:18] Of where we could

[00:49:20] Where we could go and praise God

[00:49:22] People have come to Christ

[00:49:24] I think I don't like counting

[00:49:26] I don't feel like it's like I don't know this

[00:49:28] But a good chunk each time will be like

[00:49:30] Raise their hands and some of them will even

[00:49:32] Come up to the pastor because we have

[00:49:34] A prayer room in our club

[00:49:36] So the pastor will be upstairs

[00:49:38] Um they'll come to the pastor

[00:49:40] And have him pray for them

[00:49:42] You know we'll give them resources for like churches

[00:49:44] That they can go to

[00:49:46] And even this last one this really young guy came

[00:49:48] And he had Justin pray for him

[00:49:50] And he gave his life to Christ so

[00:49:52] People are I think people are being renewed

[00:49:54] When you see people like

[00:49:56] There's nothing more um

[00:49:58] There's just nothing more pleasing than to see

[00:50:00] You know you're watching all these young Christians

[00:50:02] Like dance and like have fun you're like wow

[00:50:04] Like so much joy like in their eyes

[00:50:06] You can see people are just like

[00:50:08] So happy to have a space like this

[00:50:10] Like somewhere to go on a Saturday night

[00:50:12] You know that won't compromise

[00:50:14] Your faith your convictions

[00:50:16] Yeah that's good

[00:50:18] That's amazing and I pray

[00:50:20] This continues to spread

[00:50:22] Like everybody needs to have it everywhere

[00:50:24] I love the fact that you know

[00:50:26] You guys are sold out and you're doing it for the young adults

[00:50:28] But I would just argue for any believer

[00:50:30] Like we need safe place

[00:50:32] No I do I just think that

[00:50:34] We're being too religious at times

[00:50:36] Amongst the body when I talk about

[00:50:38] The church it's okay

[00:50:40] To have safe spaces where

[00:50:42] Listen we hold each other accountable

[00:50:44] Say for instance they are singles

[00:50:46] Who may be thinking they want a quarter

[00:50:48] Or may be thinking they want to hook up

[00:50:50] At least you have a safe space where they can come

[00:50:52] There's no drinking there's no smoking

[00:53:22] But a lot of their music is dark

[00:53:24] And when I sit and talk to them

[00:53:26] They listen to a lot of these dark songs

[00:53:28] A lot of this dark music

[00:53:30] And they're wondering why

[00:53:32] In the areas of their mental health well being

[00:53:34] They're struggling with

[00:53:36] Suicidal thoughts, depression all the time

[00:53:38] I'm like well

[00:53:40] You constantly listen to these songs

[00:53:42] And they're making you cry

[00:53:44] I know people that really do it

[00:53:46] They listen to certain songs

[00:53:48] And these songs are making them cry

[00:53:50] And getting them in these depressed states

[00:53:52] And getting them real angry

[00:53:54] And I'm like why do you keep taking yourself through this

[00:53:56] Why do you keep taking yourself through

[00:53:58] This

[00:54:00] You're choosing to play

[00:54:02] Push play and listen to this thing

[00:54:04] And recite these lyrics

[00:54:06] And it's really like tearing you down

[00:54:08] Like why do you continue to do this

[00:54:10] But you brought it up

[00:54:12] A lot of times when you talk about people

[00:54:14] Understanding the importance

[00:54:16] Of their mental health well being

[00:54:18] They just continue to do what they've been doing

[00:54:20] Because they think that's what they're supposed to do

[00:54:24] I mean this is why we were talking about

[00:54:26] The music that we play each week

[00:54:28] Maybe having the listener add it

[00:54:34] I mean we have a lot of biological proof

[00:54:38] It affects you. I play good music for the plants

[00:54:42] And I know y'all seen these videos

[00:54:44] Online of how a person can

[00:54:46] Cuss and fuss at a plant

[00:54:48] And the plant will die

[00:54:50] A person can say good positive things

[00:54:52] To a plant and a plant lives because it's all energy

[00:54:54] It's all waves

[00:54:56] Earth is energy and waves

[00:54:58] That's just how God made things

[00:55:00] So there's a negative and a positive to everything

[00:55:02] Even in the music

[00:55:04] And when you put that negative stuff

[00:55:06] In music and a person just keeps it on repeat

[00:55:08] Yeah, that's getting into your spirit

[00:55:10] It's getting into your soul

[00:55:12] We have a dopamine effect

[00:55:14] Obviously that happens when the music is positive

[00:55:16] And so it's like

[00:55:18] You could truly change

[00:55:20] How you feel by what you listen to

[00:55:22] This is just

[00:55:26] So that's why we're always pushing

[00:55:28] That positive, inspirational, faith filled music

[00:58:58] The spirit is just moving through the church
