[00:01:26] Checkin' in, wake up, wake up y'all
[00:01:28] Y'all know what time it is to fix us in
[00:01:31] And we're on one again
[00:01:33] But wake up, good morning
[00:01:35] Monday morning, nobody likes Monday anymore
[00:01:37] But Monday morning
[00:01:41] Yeah, Mondays are money-making days
[00:01:43] So you gotta have that in your mind
[00:01:45] It's money, Monday
[00:01:47] Okay, this is the day I get to start making my money again
[00:01:51] So that I can do what I need to do
[00:01:54] Well, thank you God for Monday
[00:01:57] Thank you for giving us breath
[00:01:59] And listen, woke us up in our right state of mind
[00:02:02] This morning
[00:02:03] So God is still amazing
[00:02:04] You're absolutely right
[00:02:05] He still has a call and a plan for our life
[00:02:08] So come on and get up
[00:02:09] And get motivated
[00:02:10] Come on and have a great conversation
[00:02:12] With him, I pray
[00:02:13] Again, we are definitely challenging you guys
[00:02:15] To take your prayer life to a new level
[00:02:18] Every morning, wake up
[00:02:19] And just not to be a part of it
[00:02:21] But also, just continue to ask him
[00:02:23] What do you want me to do?
[00:02:25] Am I in lined up with what you have for me?
[00:02:28] What's my purpose?
[00:02:30] Where should I be serving?
[00:02:31] Who should I be helping?
[00:02:33] Who should I be blessing?
[00:02:35] Absolutely
[00:02:36] I know we always pray for the things that we want
[00:02:38] And our heart desires
[00:02:39] But let's make sure that we're doing
[00:02:41] Everything that God has called us to
[00:02:43] But also, I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:45] But I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:47] But I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:49] I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:51] But I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:53] But I'm not going to be a part of it
[00:02:54] Because God's blessing and God has called us to
[00:02:57] But also in a position to where God can use you
[00:03:00] And put you places to where you can minister
[00:03:02] Put you places to where you can be a blessing
[00:03:04] So, again, take your spiritual walk to a new level
[00:03:07] It's the New Year
[00:03:08] We're still in that first quarter
[00:03:10] Let's continue to fight this good fight
[00:03:12] Each and every day
[00:03:13] Hey, listen we got a fun packed show
[00:03:15] For y'all today
[00:03:16] on the right day.
[00:03:17] I thought that was funny.
[00:03:23] Y'all need to stop sinning.
[00:03:24] We all need to stop sinning.
[00:03:25] Wherever we are sinning, we have to stop.
[00:03:27] So yeah, we're going to talk about
[00:03:28] is your sin in remission today?
[00:03:30] Like, are you going backwards?
[00:03:33] You know, like, and when I mean backwards,
[00:03:34] like, are we letting the sin go?
[00:03:36] Like, not are we falling back into sin,
[00:03:38] but are you, you know, slowly walking away
[00:03:41] or slowly letting it go or quickly walking away
[00:03:43] or quickly letting that sin go?
[00:03:45] We're going to discuss it today.
[00:03:46] Mm-hmm.
[00:03:47] Yeah, we are.
[00:03:49] Yeah, pull your Bible out.
[00:03:50] Pull your Bible out.
[00:03:52] Please pull out a notepad.
[00:03:53] Take some notes or you know,
[00:03:55] get your little voice memo on your phone
[00:03:57] because yes, this is a conversation we need to have.
[00:04:00] So I'm excited about it too as well.
[00:04:02] Our spiritual detox today features.
[00:04:03] Come on now.
[00:04:04] We know we do everything over here
[00:04:06] in our space with hip hop.
[00:04:08] But listen, it all stems from the gospel roots
[00:04:11] and we're going to get a gospel sango

[00:06:11] as much as possible and spend money
[00:06:14] in local shops and restaurants.
[00:06:16] I'm Dice Gamble and this has been your news in 90.
[00:06:19] Shout out to all the lovers out there
[00:06:21] and shout out to all the kingdom man
[00:06:23] who are proposing still, yeah, you're going
[00:06:25] and finding you a queen and saying, yeah,
[00:06:27] that's it. You know what I'm saying?
[00:06:29] I love that. You've been out here.
[00:06:31] Yeah, you've been out here dancing
[00:06:32] and doing your thing and got all these
[00:06:34] little side dudes. Yeah.
[00:06:35] Going to change your number
[00:06:36] and get that black book.
[00:06:38] And yeah, come on.
[00:06:39] Yeah, you coming with me. Black book.
[00:06:41] Yeah. Remember the black book?
[00:06:42] Don't die like you don't have a black book.
[00:06:44] You know you had a black book.
[00:06:45] I know I had a black book.
[00:06:47] You probably had two or two of them.
[00:06:48] I had two, three.
[00:06:49] That's right.
[00:06:52] Don't play. Yeah.
[00:06:53] You always got to have them lined up.
[00:06:54] Like don't play like as soon as you walk away
[00:06:57] is 20 more people would like standing in line.
[00:06:59] I mean, don't don't even please.
[00:07:03] You know, don't get it twisted.
[00:07:04] But yeah, those black books, they used to be
[00:07:06] a whole lot. So but the generations
[00:07:08] who are like, what are they talking about?
[00:07:11] There used to be like this little, you know,
[00:07:13] it's probably about big as your hand
[00:07:14] and you could keep numbers in it.
[00:07:15] Or some people had a big, big as your phone.
[00:07:17] Big as your phone. I had a small one.
[00:07:18] Yeah. And it just had phone numbers in it.
[00:07:20] You know, people you needed to call
[00:07:22] depending on what the situation was.
[00:07:25] Fact. The situation.
[00:07:28] I remember the rotary phone
[00:07:30] shot to the audit.
[00:07:31] They actually know the rotary phone is right.
[00:07:33] Right. It probably was in your local kitchen
[00:07:35] or maybe the living room.
[00:07:37] And you had to pick it up and, you know,
[00:07:40] you put your finger in between this little circle,
[00:07:43] little thing, numbers and it rolled to the number
[00:07:46] then it rolled back.
[00:07:47] Then you had to do the next number.
[00:07:48] So yeah, shout out to everybody who remember
[00:07:52] we actually had to memorize a lot of numbers.
[00:07:54] So that was the thing too is we had the black book
[00:07:56] for like just in case we needed.
[00:07:58] But the hot ones that you needed to know
[00:08:01] now you just phone up and you just called them.
[00:08:02] You just doubted.
[00:08:03] I came down. Nobody know.
[00:08:06] I don't know my daughters.
[00:08:07] I think I'm gonna call my sister.
[00:08:09] I don't know. I can't call nobody.
[00:08:12] After that, I'm done.
[00:08:13] I'm not one one emergency.
[00:08:14] That's it. I can't call nobody.
[00:08:18] Way too many numbers to memorize.
[00:08:20] But yeah, to your point, back in the day,
[00:08:22] yeah, you had to have a strong finger too,
[00:08:24] because these phones were not cheap.
[00:08:26] They were well made.
[00:08:27] So that plastic was hard plastic.
[00:08:29] And by the time you go in a circle,
[00:08:31] like a couple of times,
[00:08:32] if you didn't get that number right,
[00:08:33] you had to start over guys.
[00:08:35] It wasn't no delete button.
[00:08:37] You had to just hang up and start over.
[00:08:39] Dotted hope on the break in.
[00:08:42] I remember when you could call the operator
[00:08:43] and interrupt somebody's phone line if it was busy.
[00:08:47] Thanks.
[00:08:49] It ain't got that no more.
[00:08:50] No more show.
[00:08:50] Did you call the operator?
[00:08:52] Listen, I need to pass me through the Mr. Williams.
[00:08:56] Pass me through the Tasha Cos.
[00:08:58] Pass me through to, yeah, Monica Spivey
[00:09:01] or whoever it may be.
[00:09:03] And the operator to say,
[00:09:04] I love to operate today was always so polite.
[00:09:07] Hold one moment.
[00:09:08] All right.
[00:09:11] But you know what?
[00:09:12] You talk to who you need to talk to.
[00:09:13] Absolutely.
[00:09:14] I wish we go back to that
[00:09:15] because you know what?
[00:09:16] It's a lot of y'all rappers out here.
[00:09:17] I keep hitting y'all up every week.
[00:09:18] I ain't going to hit you no more
[00:09:19] after next week watching.
[00:09:20] I'm asking you to send me the track
[00:09:21] because you know I'm trying to get on that track.
[00:09:23] You don't send it to me.
[00:09:25] I probably ain't going to answer my phone no more.
[00:09:26] But here's the deal.
[00:09:27] I wish I could interrupt them, you know, like.
[00:09:29] Uh, operator, can you interrupt?
[00:09:33] And then you say what is like that?
[00:09:35] Their phone line is busy and they're not picking up.
[00:09:37] You know, that was a lot of power back then folks.
[00:09:40] I never realized how much power you had
[00:09:41] to just call somebody's house
[00:09:42] and make them pick up the phone.
[00:09:44] That was good.
[00:09:45] That was good.
[00:09:46] Wow. OK. All right.
[00:09:47] What day is it?
[00:09:49] National what day?
[00:09:50] Yeah, what day?
[00:09:50] Get it right.
[00:09:52] It's National Pound Cake Day
[00:09:54] on March the 4th.
[00:09:55] National Pound Cake Day recognizes
[00:09:57] this delicious dessert that's known all over the world.
[00:10:01] It's celebrated by bakers and cake lovers.
[00:10:04] And it's a traditional cake, you know,
[00:10:06] made with flour, butter, eggs and sugar.
[00:10:10] Hence the name.
[00:10:12] I own cake because this cake will definitely put that weight on you.
[00:10:15] But listen, shout out to all the grandmas
[00:10:17] with the extra fat on the backside of a bicep
[00:10:21] because my grandma used to.
[00:10:22] OK, she would make a pound cake
[00:10:24] that just sits you down somewhere.
[00:10:26] And I definitely should throw the icing on it.
[00:10:28] She made the lemon.
[00:10:30] She made cream cheese.
[00:10:31] She made the strawberry topping.
[00:10:33] She did it all.
[00:10:34] So pound cakes are a great way to just slice up something
[00:10:37] or mix up something quick, slice it for a nice party
[00:10:40] or to give us a gift to your friend.
[00:10:42] And pound cakes always win.
[00:10:44] So for those of you trying to be fancy,
[00:10:46] this Thanksgiving or whatever the holiday is,
[00:10:49] just go and make a pound cake.
[00:10:50] But pound cakes pack a pound of calories
[00:10:53] like 300 calories per serving.
[00:10:56] So I'm just going to throw that out there.
[00:11:00] The YouTube.
[00:11:01] They taste good, but they ain't no good for you,
[00:11:04] especially the way I eat them because I'm going to get
[00:11:06] about two slices of that pound cake.
[00:11:08] I'm on ice cream about two or three scoops.
[00:11:10] Come on, ice cream.
[00:11:12] I'm on out and don't get fancy and get that strawberry
[00:11:15] little jam. I'm trying to tell you.
[00:11:18] Yeah, yeah, you know, don't don't.
[00:11:19] It's over.
[00:11:21] So yeah, go ahead and hashtag National Pound Cake Day
[00:11:24] if you are having a slice of that delicious cake.
[00:11:26] And listen, the one restaurant that has nailed that pound cake
[00:11:29] is drum roll because I get a piece every time I go.
[00:11:33] Starbucks.
[00:11:35] Oh, I can't stand it.
[00:11:36] There's something in that.
[00:11:37] That lemon one.
[00:11:38] That lemon one.
[00:11:40] I just tell LJ to get to like, I'm serious.
[00:11:42] Like I'm like, just get to just get to and put it
[00:11:46] in a little bag and just bring it on.
[00:11:47] Like I don't like that I like it, but there are certain
[00:11:51] places that just have sweets where you're like, I need
[00:11:53] just go and get to go and get to.
[00:11:56] But yeah, I said National Pound Cake Day guys.
[00:11:59] Going down.
[00:12:00] I'm Justin Adams, and this is your to fix faith and sports
[00:12:03] report. Let's get right to our scripture verse of the day.
[00:12:05] And it comes from Ephesians four verses 21 through 24.
[00:12:09] Again, Ephesians four verses 21 through 24.
[00:12:13] And this is the new living translation.
[00:12:15] So listen up.
[00:12:16] It says, since you have heard about Jesus
[00:12:18] and I've learned the truth that comes from him,
[00:12:21] throw off your old sin nature and your former way of life,
[00:12:24] which is corrupted by lust and deception.
[00:12:27] Instead, let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
[00:12:31] Put on your new nature created to be like God, truly righteous
[00:12:36] and holy again.
[00:12:37] Since you have heard about Jesus and I've learned the
[00:12:40] truth that comes from him, throw off your old sin nature
[00:12:42] and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust
[00:12:45] and deception.
[00:12:47] Instead, let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
[00:12:50] Put on your new nature created to be like God, truly
[00:12:53] righteous and holy again.
[00:12:55] That's Ephesians four verses 21 through 24.
[00:12:58] All right, to college hoops and let's start on the women's
[00:13:01] side of things when we saw some history in Iowa.
[00:13:04] This for college basketball history.
[00:13:10] She does it on a palm shirt.
[00:13:14] Kate LeCart becomes the all time leading score
[00:13:18] in major college basketball history.
[00:13:22] Kate LeCart becomes the NCAA's all time leading
[00:13:25] score as the Hawkeyes needed all the points they can
[00:13:28] get as they beat Ohio State 93 to 83 elsewhere.
[00:13:32] Top ranked South Carolina beat Tennessee 86 to 78.
[00:13:36] Virginia upset Virginia Tech 80 to 76 and LSU took down
[00:13:41] Kentucky 77 to 56.
[00:13:44] In the men's game only one game of note as number three
[00:13:47] Yukon routed Seton Hall 91 to 61.
[00:13:51] Now to the NBA and speaking of playoffs, did you see
[00:13:54] what happened in Boston as it took on the Golden State Warriors?
[00:13:58] Tatum separates kicks wide open three.
[00:14:02] You bet.
[00:14:06] This is remarkable.
[00:14:10] What the Celtics are doing is just silly.
[00:14:12] Oh, it was silly.
[00:14:14] All right, as the Celtics just destroyed the Warriors
[00:14:17] 140 to 88 again, 140 to 88.
[00:14:23] It was the Celtics third largest winning margin in
[00:14:26] franchise history.
[00:14:27] That's just ridiculous right there.
[00:14:29] The Philadelphia 76ers held off the Dallas Mavericks
[00:14:32] 120 to 116.
[00:14:34] The Los Angeles Clippers got a very close win over
[00:14:36] the Minnesota Temple Wolves.
[00:14:38] How about this 89 to 88?
[00:14:40] Good win there for the Clippers.
[00:14:42] The Orlando Magic beat the Detroit Pistons 113 to 91.
[00:14:46] The Toronto Raptors got past the Charlotte Hornets 111 to 106.
[00:14:50] The New York Mix get the road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers
[00:14:53] 107 to 98.
[00:14:55] Jalen Brunson left the game in the first quarter with
[00:14:58] a knee injury.
[00:14:58] So let's pray that he will be all right.
[00:15:01] The San Antonio Spurs take down the Indiana Pacers
[00:15:04] 117 to 105.
[00:15:06] And finally, the Oklahoma City Thunder take down the Phoenix
[00:15:09] Suns 118 to 110.
[00:15:11] Oklahoma City leads the Western Conference by a half of a game
[00:15:15] should be a very exciting finish right there in the NBA.
[00:15:20] I'm Justin Adams and this is being a DeFaith faith and
[00:15:22] sports report.
[00:15:23] Welcome back. Welcome back, DJ focus, Dice Gamble.
[00:15:25] You tap back into the fix.
[00:15:27] Your source of faith infuse hip hop R&B and poetry.
[00:15:29] And it's time for our spiritual detox.
[00:15:31] And y'all know how we like to listen.
[00:15:34] We know we do hip hop, but we also like to highlight
[00:15:38] some movers and shakers in the gospel.
[00:15:40] And we're excited.
[00:15:41] We got to we got to listen when I tell you,
[00:15:44] I think she might be slept on.
[00:15:46] I think people know, but they don't know.
[00:15:48] And wait, yeah, they need to wake up, Dice,
[00:15:50] and we're grateful that she came on today.
[00:15:53] And I think she has a powerful testimony as well as
[00:15:57] she's making music again.
[00:15:59] So listen, without further ado, the super talented songstress,
[00:16:03] Jeanine White, what's up, sis?
[00:16:05] How y'all doing?
[00:16:07] Yeah.
[00:16:09] Thank you for that amazing intro.
[00:16:12] Come on down. You are amazing.
[00:16:14] Thank you for coming on here.
[00:16:16] Yeah, you are definitely a superstar.
[00:16:17] I always ask focus like, how do you know these people?
[00:16:20] How do you do it?
[00:16:22] It's an honor having you on here.
[00:16:24] Absolutely.
[00:16:25] Hey, with you guys today.
[00:16:26] Thank you for having me.
[00:16:28] Yes, yes. So come on, Jeanine,
[00:16:30] share a little bit of your faith journey with the people,
[00:16:33] maybe kind of like how you developed your personal
[00:16:35] relationship with Christ before we talk about all the sink
[00:16:37] and everything else you do.
[00:16:39] Sure. Well, I was born, bred and raised in church.
[00:16:41] I'm a PK, I'm past his daughter and born in Ohio.
[00:16:46] Oh, wait.
[00:16:47] You better say that then.
[00:16:48] Why did you say why?
[00:16:50] You better say that. Listen, Jeanine, listen,
[00:16:52] I like you. I like you even more.
[00:16:53] I've been Cleveland Ohio.
[00:16:55] I'm in Cleveland. So listen, we family.
[00:16:58] Okay.
[00:16:59] Nice, nice.
[00:17:01] It's okay, Dice, for a moment.
[00:17:02] Let family talk.
[00:17:03] I'm going to mute myself.
[00:17:05] Go ahead.
[00:17:06] So, you know, when we raise in church,
[00:17:08] you get the little church, well, not little,
[00:17:10] but you get the solo.
[00:17:12] So in the little kids choir,
[00:17:14] the choir director just saw something in me
[00:17:16] and asked me to do my first solo ever,
[00:17:19] which was Dear Jesus, I Love You by the Hawkins.
[00:17:22] And once I started singing there, I was just like,
[00:17:25] Hey, I could, I think I could do this.
[00:17:28] You know what I mean?
[00:17:28] So started singing and then we migrated to California
[00:17:33] when I was 13.
[00:17:35] And I knew that I wanted to be in a church
[00:17:39] that I could grow, you know, even as a teenager,
[00:17:42] I really wanted to grow with God and grow in the Lord.
[00:17:45] My parents were there,
[00:17:46] but I wanted my own personal relationship with him.
[00:17:50] And so I started to go to a church in LA
[00:17:53] and get in the choir and sing
[00:17:55] and really, really grew strong in my faith there.
[00:17:59] They taught us about faith.
[00:18:00] They taught us about the anointing.
[00:18:02] They taught us a prayer lives and worship and all of that.
[00:18:06] So I'm super grateful that I have that that heritage
[00:18:11] as a child.
[00:18:12] And then coming up, you know, I started singing more,
[00:18:15] learning about worship and starting to lead worship.
[00:18:19] And of course you need a strong foundation there.
[00:18:23] So it caused me to study the word more
[00:18:25] so that I know what I'm talking about,
[00:18:27] when I'm up there with a mic in my hand, you know what I mean?
[00:18:30] And I think that's really the foundation
[00:18:33] of how, you know, I got in church
[00:18:36] and doing what I'm doing now.
[00:18:40] That's good.
[00:18:41] I appreciate you sharing that.
[00:18:43] Giving us a little bit of that background
[00:18:44] and shout out to all the PKs out here in the building.
[00:18:49] Okay, I have a question for you though.
[00:18:51] Like being a really, really talented, gifted,
[00:18:56] anointed singer, what keeps you or why did you choose
[00:19:02] the path of gospel?
[00:19:03] Because you didn't have to, you know, at all.
[00:19:06] Like we never have to pick it.
[00:19:07] Like was it just, hey, this is in my heart
[00:19:11] or had you ever had any ideas
[00:19:13] of maybe doing something different?
[00:19:16] Well, when I, you know, being raised in the church
[00:19:20] with my parents being pastors,
[00:19:21] it was almost like you didn't even think
[00:19:23] about doing anything else.
[00:19:25] But as I became an adult
[00:19:26] and really start jumping into this as a profession,
[00:19:31] I couldn't think of or even see myself singing
[00:19:34] anything different.
[00:19:35] Now for my production company,
[00:19:38] of course we've done other things
[00:19:40] but they were always inspirational.
[00:19:42] So I was a part of a production company
[00:19:45] called White Throne Productions
[00:19:47] where we used to do a contract,
[00:19:49] the choir for certain shows.
[00:19:51] So for like the Grammys, American Idol,
[00:19:54] American Music Awards, if an artist needed a choir
[00:19:57] or if they needed some background singers,
[00:19:59] our production company provided that.
[00:20:02] And so even with that,
[00:20:03] we still only did like certain types of music
[00:20:06] like inspirational or pure, we call them pure lyrics
[00:20:10] where you know it's not anything
[00:20:12] that's a defamatory against Christ.
[00:20:14] So even then, although we did gospel or inspirational,
[00:20:20] it caused me to change up my flair of music
[00:20:23] so I'm not just traditional gospel.
[00:20:25] I have an album out right now
[00:20:27] and there's so many different types of music on there
[00:20:31] all because of how we kind of opened up our scope
[00:20:35] so to speak to different genres of music
[00:20:38] but for me, it was always gonna be
[00:20:40] either worship or gospel.
[00:20:43] That's amazing.
[00:20:46] Every time I get these testimonies, Dice,
[00:20:48] you know I feel a certain way
[00:20:49] because you know I was a heath and I feel like I,
[00:20:52] I'm Mr. Mark, I was waiting for something.
[00:20:54] You say it was?
[00:20:55] Dice, don't do that, Dice don't do that.
[00:20:58] Don't do that.
[00:20:59] Ooh, you be cutting up when we got company.
[00:21:01] Lord, you be cutting up.
[00:21:02] Janine, is there one misconception growing up as a PK?
[00:21:08] You could kind of like debunk and say,
[00:21:10] you know what, I know they say this about PKs
[00:21:12] but man not so much.
[00:21:15] No.
[00:21:17] No, a lot of what they say about PKs.
[00:21:20] Oh, this one was a true.
[00:21:21] Absolutely true.
[00:21:22] Oh, this one was a true.
[00:21:24] I was just being real.
[00:21:26] Of course to what magnitude that is,
[00:21:30] people have their own imaginations
[00:21:34] and so that sometimes they embellish a lot
[00:21:38] but honestly, yes, PKs can be fast.
[00:21:41] Yes, PKs are the ones that are always late to church.
[00:21:45] Yes, you know, PKs, you know, they feel entitled.
[00:21:49] Like, you know, the list goes on and on
[00:21:51] and on of what is said about us.
[00:21:53] So a lot of it is true
[00:21:55] but it's also true that we love God.
[00:21:58] It's also true that we grow into our salvation
[00:22:03] just like everybody else.
[00:22:04] You know, we're still human.
[00:22:06] So, you know, we want a boyfriend just like everybody else.
[00:22:09] We want to get married just like everybody else.
[00:22:11] We want to have kids just like everybody else, you know.
[00:22:13] So we have our human experience
[00:22:16] but how we deal with that, you know,
[00:22:19] honestly I have to say a lot of it is true
[00:22:21] what they say.
[00:22:23] Did you ever feel the pressure though?
[00:22:25] Did you ever feel pressure
[00:22:26] that like always have to be, you know, live up to,
[00:22:30] you know, your parents, you know, being,
[00:22:33] you know, leaders and pastors
[00:22:34] that you always had to be perfect
[00:22:37] in so many that you did you ever feel like that?
[00:22:39] Wow, mom, dad, why I gotta always, you know, make the mark.
[00:22:43] Not me, cause I'm the baby of the family
[00:22:44] but my siblings absolutely, they struggle.
[00:22:48] Like my brother, my old, my brother's the oldest
[00:22:50] and I have two older sisters.
[00:22:52] My oldest sister and my oldest brother, they struggled.
[00:22:55] It was hard for them to follow all those rules.
[00:23:01] You know, it was just like,
[00:23:02] well this is just not even possible to do, you know.
[00:23:06] And my dad and mom was a lot stricter then.
[00:23:09] So by the time I came along,
[00:23:10] my brothers and sisters always say,
[00:23:13] but you can't do anything that you've got to do.
[00:23:16] We couldn't wear pants, we couldn't wear earrings,
[00:23:17] we couldn't go to the prom, we couldn't do nothing.
[00:23:20] You come along, you know, 10, 15 years later
[00:23:23] you can do whatever you want to do.
[00:23:25] So I didn't feel the pressure as much as they did
[00:23:28] The pressure is very real,
[00:23:30] especially if they're grooming you to be the next.
[00:23:33] You know what I mean?
[00:23:34] You might be the next pastor or the next,
[00:23:37] you know, whatever of a ministry.
[00:23:39] That was never my desire.
[00:23:41] I always knew I wanted to sing.
[00:23:43] And so I focused on that.
[00:23:45] And when my mom was like, are you gonna go to college?
[00:23:48] I was like, absolutely not.
[00:23:50] Like that's not me.
[00:23:52] Now, if I said, if my siblings said that,
[00:23:55] it would be a problem.
[00:23:56] But for me, she saw that I wanted to be a singer.
[00:23:59] So she was like, well you don't have to do something
[00:24:01] until you become Beyonce, you don't get a job
[00:24:04] and you don't do this and you gonna do that.
[00:24:05] And so I went to school towards my trade
[00:24:09] and that is an executive administrator.
[00:24:12] So I did go to like a community college
[00:24:17] to get like some trade,
[00:24:19] but I did not go to like a four year whole HBCU,
[00:24:24] all that, I didn't do all of that.
[00:24:26] I was just like, I'm gonna sing for Jesus.
[00:24:28] That's it.
[00:24:29] And God blessed me to do that, you know?
[00:24:31] Yes, he did it.
[00:24:32] And she did a successful added
[00:24:33] to where now I can live off of it.
[00:24:36] You know what I mean?
[00:24:37] So I'm up, I know that I'm blessed.
[00:24:40] Yes you are.
[00:24:41] You're absolutely blessed.
[00:24:42] I'm ready to get into this music focus,
[00:24:44] but do we need to pay any bills first?
[00:24:47] Okay.
[00:24:48] Yeah, we better pay some bills real quick.
[00:24:49] Listen, DJ Pocus, Dice Gamble.
[00:24:51] We got the super talented songstress
[00:24:53] Janine White with us.
[00:24:55] We gotta go to a quick break.
[00:24:56] We coming right back with more.
[00:24:57] You tapped into the fix.
[00:24:59] And the fix is in.
[00:25:00] Welcome back, welcome back DJ Pocus, Dice Gamble.
[00:25:03] Listen, having a great conversation with Janine.
[00:25:05] Why don't we dice?
[00:25:07] Yeah, we are.
[00:25:08] Janine, thank you for hanging out with us.
[00:25:10] And we definitely have to get into this music now.
[00:25:15] You got a lot of songs on here.
[00:25:16] And I wanna know, I wanna know,
[00:25:18] I wanna know why did you do the single
[00:25:21] and then you dropped the project.
[00:25:23] So that's something that's been in my mind.
[00:25:26] What you got there?
[00:25:27] So November was full of highlights,
[00:25:29] but please do share.
[00:25:30] Please do share.
[00:25:32] And I got in trouble for that too.
[00:25:33] I have a marketing friend who was like,
[00:25:37] no, don't do that.
[00:25:38] That's not how it's done and wait and pause.
[00:25:41] And so I was working on the album
[00:25:43] and I have been trying to do this album
[00:25:46] for 15 years, literally.
[00:25:48] I've been serving and singing background all of my life.
[00:25:53] Literally, and I still will.
[00:25:54] Like I still do praise and worship at my church.
[00:25:57] I'm still on the team.
[00:25:58] I still sing alto, you know.
[00:26:00] And I had been working on this album for a long time.
[00:26:04] And so by the time I had the means to put out my album,
[00:26:08] I just took every song that I had ever done
[00:26:11] or every song that someone had asked me to do.
[00:26:14] And I just put it on the album,
[00:26:16] put this recorded it and just put it on the album.
[00:26:19] And it's so funny.
[00:26:21] I got discouraged and I wasn't gonna put the album out
[00:26:25] and I ran into Deetra Catton who is my mentor.
[00:26:29] I ran into him at the airport.
[00:26:32] We were going to the Stellars in Vegas
[00:26:33] and bumped into him at the airport.
[00:26:36] And he could see like something was on me.
[00:26:39] He was just like, you know, what's going on with you?
[00:26:41] And I was like, I don't know.
[00:26:42] I just have a lot of decisions to make
[00:26:44] and you know, I have an album
[00:26:46] but I'm not sure if I wanna put it out.
[00:26:48] You know, it's just a lot of the music throughout the years.
[00:26:52] I don't know if it's good.
[00:26:53] I don't know if it's relevant.
[00:26:55] And he said, well, you know, I would have to hear it.
[00:26:58] He said, why are you questioning it?
[00:27:00] And I said, well, a couple of the producers
[00:27:02] that were on it, they backed out
[00:27:05] because they said that it was dated
[00:27:09] kind of like it was played out.
[00:27:10] And he was like, yeah, I need to hear it.
[00:27:13] So I sent him five songs from off of the album
[00:27:18] and maybe like two weeks later he hit me up.
[00:27:21] And he was like, you know what, Janie?
[00:27:23] He said, they're right.
[00:27:24] He said it is dated.
[00:27:25] He said, it's timeless.
[00:27:27] He said, what I'm hearing right now is timeless worship.
[00:27:30] He said, it sounds like you.
[00:27:32] He said, it's anointed.
[00:27:33] It feels good.
[00:27:35] He said, if I was you,
[00:27:36] I would name your record outdated.
[00:27:38] It's like, at first I was like, yeah, it's outdated.
[00:27:41] Yeah, you know, trying to throw it in people's faces.
[00:27:44] But then after a while
[00:27:46] and I actually even wrote my bio,
[00:27:49] the bio that we presented as the album was coming out,
[00:27:52] it says outdated.
[00:27:53] But after a while, you know,
[00:27:55] the Lord was dealing with my heart like,
[00:27:56] you know, there's not the title of this.
[00:27:58] And so he was like, he's just trying to be spiteful.
[00:28:01] And so the Lord dealt with me
[00:28:02] and he said that the actual title is timeless.
[00:28:05] So the reason why there's so much music
[00:28:08] and so many things on it,
[00:28:10] there are 17 IDs on this album
[00:28:13] is because I just really wanted to put on an album
[00:28:18] everything that I had been working on.
[00:28:20] And then honestly, I was gonna start fresh,
[00:28:22] you know, on another album,
[00:28:23] but this one is doing quite well.
[00:28:26] So I've been able to market and push this one.
[00:28:30] The single.
[00:28:31] So which single are we talking about?
[00:28:33] We talking about Dufry.
[00:28:35] We talking about Glory.
[00:28:36] That's right.
[00:28:37] No, no, no.
[00:28:38] Dufry.
[00:28:39] Yes ma'am.
[00:28:40] Mm-hmm.
[00:28:42] So...
[00:28:43] They were back to back.
[00:28:44] Yeah, yeah they were.
[00:28:46] So what happened was I submitted the five songs
[00:28:49] not only to Dietrich,
[00:28:50] but to maybe three or four other radio announcers
[00:28:54] around the United States.
[00:28:56] And synonymously, hands down,
[00:28:59] they all came back with Dufry.
[00:29:01] And I was so, I was asking them, you know,
[00:29:04] what should this single be?
[00:29:05] And I was so frustrated because we lost Uncle Chuck,
[00:29:08] you know, Uncle Chuck.
[00:29:10] It's a dear Uncle Chuck.
[00:29:12] And we actually recorded that during COVID.
[00:29:15] And then a couple of years went by
[00:29:18] and he just called me out of the blue.
[00:29:20] And I don't know if you guys know Uncle Chuck.
[00:29:21] Uncle Chuck is an amazing, was an amazing bass player.
[00:29:26] He was the lead singer for the Zion Messenger,
[00:29:29] which is a quartet out here,
[00:29:31] but he's mostly known for working with Snoop and 1500
[00:29:35] and nothing.
[00:29:37] And so he had the honor to go to Dubai with Beyonce.
[00:29:41] And when he was on his way, he called me.
[00:29:45] And this is like years later after we recorded it.
[00:29:47] And he was like, what's going on with your album?
[00:29:49] You know, where's the music?
[00:29:51] You know, it's just too good
[00:29:52] that you can't let it fall to the ground.
[00:29:54] And I mean, he was just really, really going off on me.
[00:29:57] And I said, okay, you know, I'm COVID.
[00:30:00] I was trying to come up with all different kind of excuses.
[00:30:02] And he was like, no, he was like, put it out, put it out.
[00:30:05] He said, we'll talk when I get back.
[00:30:07] And I heard from Chuck again,
[00:30:09] once he landed, he got in a motorcycle accident
[00:30:12] and passed away.
[00:30:14] And so when I heard that, I was like, what do I do now?
[00:30:18] You know, this was the song that everybody picked.
[00:30:22] And I, you know, how do I market this?
[00:30:25] How do I sing this without him?
[00:30:26] You know, when you hear it,
[00:30:28] you clearly hear Chuck is like smashing, he's killing,
[00:30:31] you know, so I was like,
[00:30:32] how do I even release this song without him?
[00:30:35] But this is the song that everyone picked.
[00:30:37] And when I released it, it did exactly
[00:30:41] what everyone was saying.
[00:30:42] It touched the heart of LA.
[00:30:44] It touched the hearts of people.
[00:30:46] The message was strong.
[00:30:48] And that's how it happened.
[00:30:51] You know, honestly, the radio announcers picked the single.
[00:30:55] Wow.
[00:30:56] And because I got such a great response, we pushed it.
[00:31:01] But I was so ready to get off of it
[00:31:03] as the reason why I dropped another single so soon.
[00:31:06] I was so ready to get off of it
[00:31:08] because I was like, I can't promote this
[00:31:09] the way that I would like to.
[00:31:12] I want to cry before I try to sing it.
[00:31:15] You know, it's just a very emotional.
[00:31:17] So we did the video.
[00:31:19] Put the video together.
[00:31:20] And once we put the video together,
[00:31:21] I let the video do what I couldn't do.
[00:31:24] And then it was time to drop the next single.
[00:31:26] So that's that story.
[00:31:28] That was good.
[00:31:29] Thank you for the album because we often say
[00:31:31] we love albums.
[00:31:32] You know, nowadays people just give us like a minute
[00:31:35] and a half of a song or interlude.
[00:31:37] And it's like, can you give us some music
[00:31:40] if we want to drive state to state?
[00:31:41] Or we're on an airplane and we can just listen to it.
[00:31:44] So I actually was, I'm grateful
[00:31:46] that you have so many songs on the project.
[00:31:48] So thank you for that.
[00:31:51] That's so good.
[00:31:52] I'll honestly, there's little interludes
[00:31:55] and stuff in there where I'm exhorting
[00:31:57] on a Sunday night.
[00:31:59] I used to lead worship at West Angeles church
[00:32:01] where Bishop Blake is the pastor.
[00:32:03] And so often on Sunday nights,
[00:32:05] we would have just good old church.
[00:32:08] And some of those interludes and some of those moments,
[00:32:10] I was just like, I'm just cool that that sounds good.
[00:32:13] That feels good.
[00:32:14] So let me just add that to the album as little segues.
[00:32:19] So those are a lot of,
[00:32:20] I think I have five of those.
[00:32:22] Those are a lot of the IDs, but I don't know.
[00:32:25] I just wanted to empty out on this album.
[00:32:27] I wanted to empty out.
[00:32:29] And again, I was just gonna do that
[00:32:31] and start a whole new something.
[00:32:33] And the people were just like, this is really good.
[00:32:36] Like you should focus on this.
[00:32:38] So, Gloria No Rao.
[00:32:41] Jamon.
[00:32:42] That is a nine minute, 30 second praise
[00:32:47] and worship set at my church.
[00:32:51] We did this song.
[00:32:53] It's originally from the city of refuge,
[00:32:56] Bishop Noel Jones.
[00:32:58] His choir recorded it in 2007.
[00:33:01] Gerald Haddon is the writer of the original
[00:33:04] Glory, Glory, Glory.
[00:33:05] That's the original song.
[00:33:06] And I heard it at a friend's house
[00:33:09] and I said, oh, I'm doing that
[00:33:10] for praise and worship at my church.
[00:33:12] And so we did it.
[00:33:13] And our pastor was known for when he's ready
[00:33:18] for you to sit down, he'll stand up
[00:33:19] and he'll have his announcements and papers in his hand
[00:33:23] and he'll give you the eye.
[00:33:25] So I was waiting for that eye and I never got it.
[00:33:28] He was just in the song and I kept looking
[00:33:31] and then I looked at the band
[00:33:33] and we didn't have a lot to the song.
[00:33:36] So we started to add on the spot
[00:33:40] and the musicians changed the music
[00:33:42] and then, you know, I started to flow in the spirit
[00:33:45] and God started giving me different parts of the song
[00:33:47] like the Aino Rock crying out for me
[00:33:50] and, you know, it would praise you.
[00:33:51] Like literally the song would end
[00:33:54] in about three to four minutes
[00:33:56] but we had 10 minutes to do worship.
[00:33:58] And normally he would be wrestling the papers at five
[00:34:01] so we didn't really plan or prepare anything extra.
[00:34:05] So the Holy Spirit just began to write the song on its own.
[00:34:08] And then as I was singing around the city
[00:34:11] they would ask me to do that song.
[00:34:13] And so we started adding more parts to it
[00:34:15] and it just turned into a nine minute, 30 second
[00:34:19] worship experience.
[00:34:20] And when it came time for me to put it
[00:34:22] on the album we fought.
[00:34:24] We fought like, do we need a radio edit?
[00:34:26] Do we need to cut it out?
[00:34:27] And I was like, I don't wanna interrupt this moment.
[00:34:30] Like, you know, if they wanna fade
[00:34:32] they can fade on it, you know what I mean?
[00:34:34] But to do an actual radio edit
[00:34:37] to this moment would do it a disservice.
[00:34:39] So we just kept it.
[00:34:42] Thank you for keeping us.
[00:34:44] Thank you.
[00:34:48] It was like nine minutes and 30,
[00:34:50] they were, I mean, we fought over that.
[00:34:51] We fought over this whole album.
[00:34:52] Like, let's fight over this album.
[00:34:55] So good.
[00:34:56] I was just like, just keep it.
[00:34:58] And if they, you know, if they enjoy it,
[00:35:01] they enjoyed it.
[00:35:02] If not then, you know, they'll fade on it.
[00:35:04] But at least the people will have the whole version,
[00:35:06] you know?
[00:35:08] I'm very surprised that people were fighting you on this
[00:35:11] because I do think that,
[00:35:13] see that's the beautiful thing about gospel music.
[00:35:15] I think we should have a little bit of everything.
[00:35:18] And there's always a place for traditional worship album,
[00:35:23] like something that just takes you into a place of worship
[00:35:27] and where you can just release.
[00:35:28] Sometimes you just need to release, you know?
[00:35:30] Absolutely.
[00:35:31] Like I listen to your project and I'm like,
[00:35:34] it's so many great songs where I can just have my Bible open.
[00:35:37] I can just hear the singing.
[00:35:39] I can just start praying in the midst of some of the songs.
[00:35:42] Like, yeah, just ushering in the spirit.
[00:35:44] So like, I'm really surprised that people were giving you
[00:35:47] a kickback and saying that, you know,
[00:35:49] you shouldn't put it out.
[00:35:50] So I'm really surprised about that.
[00:35:52] Yeah. We love that.
[00:35:54] For me, it was a thing of flow.
[00:35:57] You know, I wanted all of the songs to flow
[00:36:00] as if we were in church,
[00:36:02] as if we were in our personal time.
[00:36:04] But you know, the industry kind of changed
[00:36:06] and we started streaming
[00:36:07] and then we started doing social media
[00:36:10] and they felt like people's attention span
[00:36:13] is can only hold so much music.
[00:36:16] And so I was like, well, you know, let them decide that.
[00:36:20] You know, let them decide what songs
[00:36:21] they don't want to hear or whatever,
[00:36:23] but for me to adjust a whole worship experience
[00:36:29] just because they might not listen to the whole song,
[00:36:31] I just couldn't fathom that.
[00:36:33] And for the album, I just think it was divine timing.
[00:36:37] Honestly, sometimes we're ready for something,
[00:36:41] sometimes we're ready,
[00:36:43] but it's not the season or the timing, you know, for us.
[00:36:46] And yeah, they fought me.
[00:36:50] The producers fought me,
[00:36:52] I think because I'm a producer in my own right.
[00:36:55] And so, you know, I can't play a note,
[00:36:59] but I know what I need to hear, you know?
[00:37:02] So I will oftentimes sing certain chords
[00:37:04] or sing certain notes.
[00:37:06] And when we would go into the studio,
[00:37:08] I would be like, mm, that needs more reverb
[00:37:11] or that needs more that.
[00:37:12] And they'd be looking at me like, girl,
[00:37:14] if you don't get behind that loop and just sing.
[00:37:16] But I just knew what I wanted it to sound like.
[00:37:20] So I think that had a lot to do with the kickback as well.
[00:37:26] So what's next?
[00:37:27] Yeah, I was like, yeah, what's next?
[00:37:28] Cause are we going on tour this summer?
[00:37:30] Or, and you know, what else do you have working on?
[00:37:33] You know, you in a movie or something?
[00:37:35] Cause I know you, you in a lot of different spaces.
[00:37:39] I do feel like it's a movie or something.
[00:37:41] She telling us about that.
[00:37:42] Tell us what's coming up next.
[00:37:44] My whole life is a movie.
[00:37:46] Listen, I got a whole testimony that's a book, a movie, something.
[00:37:51] Come on down.
[00:37:53] But we are, we are pushing LA right now.
[00:37:57] LA, I think the single do free really struck a fire
[00:38:01] underneath me to support the LA artists.
[00:38:07] You know, we're so competitive in LA,
[00:38:11] but we all support one another to a certain degree.
[00:38:15] And so when do free drop, I was like, come on LA,
[00:38:18] we need to support, you know, uncle Chuck is LA bread.
[00:38:22] And you know, we just want to push LA.
[00:38:24] And after that, I don't know, we all just was like,
[00:38:28] if you go to a concert, we're all going to come.
[00:38:31] If you do, you know, if you put on a show,
[00:38:34] we're all going to come.
[00:38:35] And so we're working on like a West Coast tour
[00:38:39] for the Stella wards this year.
[00:38:42] And not just the heavy hitters, you know,
[00:38:44] not just like the Mary's and those who kind of paid
[00:38:47] opened up the door for LA to be on the map
[00:38:51] on a secular level.
[00:38:53] We're going to start pushing, you know,
[00:38:55] people like me and Deontay, Duckett
[00:38:58] and you have FM2 and Intentionals.
[00:39:01] They're the choir on Glory, Glory, Glory.
[00:39:04] There are artists up here.
[00:39:06] Yeah.
[00:39:06] So we all kind of like underdogs, underdogs.
[00:39:09] We all come, came together.
[00:39:11] And when we go to the Stellars in July,
[00:39:14] we're going to do like a West Coast set.
[00:39:18] And hopefully people will see what we've been sitting on.
[00:39:21] There's some gyms in LA that just don't get the exposure.
[00:39:25] And so some of us that have been doing it
[00:39:28] a little bit longer, we're going to, you know,
[00:39:31] share our platform, share our moments
[00:39:34] and have other groups that we feel like are ready.
[00:39:37] You know, it's not just because we have compassion.
[00:39:40] It is a business.
[00:39:41] It is the industry.
[00:39:41] So you got to come ready, you know what I mean?
[00:39:44] But we're going to share our platform this year
[00:39:46] and, you know, I'll have a couple of opportunities to sing,
[00:39:52] but I will relinquish one of my songs,
[00:39:54] you know, one of my five minutes or whatever
[00:39:57] and allow the other artists to come on
[00:39:59] and do some of their stuff.
[00:40:00] So hopefully that will turn into a tour.
[00:40:04] You know what I mean?
[00:40:05] Hopefully that's where we're going to start.
[00:40:07] But hopefully that will turn into a tour.
[00:40:09] We're definitely praying for you
[00:40:11] and definitely believing for that tour.
[00:40:13] And, you know, we'll be there to cover that red carpet.
[00:40:16] Yes, yes.
[00:40:17] Yeah.
[00:40:18] I'll just about to say make sure you,
[00:40:20] yeah, we get an invite now.
[00:40:21] Don't leave us out now.
[00:40:23] No, I'm not.
[00:40:24] We always have to tell us every year.
[00:40:26] So yeah, make sure you put us on that list now.
[00:40:30] I'm gonna fire it.
[00:40:31] Don't be letting them kick me off either.
[00:40:32] They're gonna be like, her name's on the list.
[00:40:36] Double check.
[00:40:37] Triple check is on the list.
[00:40:40] It's all the list.
[00:40:42] Listen, we appreciate you, Janine, coming through.

[00:41:27] In your spirit.
[00:41:29] Yes, good timeless, y'all.
[00:41:31] Good timeless.
[00:41:33] I love that.
[00:41:34] Listen, we gotta go to a quick break.
[00:41:35] We'll be right back with more.
[00:41:36] Keep it locked, you tune into the fix.
[00:41:38] And the fix is in.
[00:41:40] Welcome back, welcome back DJ Focus Dice Gamble.
[00:41:42] You tap back into the fix
[00:41:44] and it's time to get really nice streets diced
[00:41:46] and you got one for them today.
[00:41:48] Shout out to everybody who wasn't ready
[00:41:51] but Dice gonna get you ready, huh?
[00:41:54] They weren't ready.
[00:41:55] I think you're gonna get them ready.
[00:41:56] Well, it's just some things we gotta talk about.
[00:41:58] We know there are a lot of sinners out there.
[00:42:00] You know, a lot of sinning going on
[00:42:02] and I'm not excluding myself.
[00:42:04] But, you know, when you realize you are sinning in an area
[00:42:08] and you are a Christian, you know,
[00:42:12] is your sin now in remission?
[00:42:14] You know, are you turning away from your,
[00:42:17] are you putting action behind walking away from that sin?
[00:42:20] You know, we are forgiven as long as we walk away
[00:42:25] from our sins.
[00:42:26] You have to repent of your sin, you know,
[00:42:28] you have to put that thing down, let it go.
[00:42:31] So I just was like, man, is your sin in remission?
[00:42:33] Because it's hard for you to keep blaming God
[00:42:36] like and you expect, you know, to be blessed, you know,
[00:42:39] when you're like, oh God,
[00:42:40] didn't take these cigarettes away from me yet.
[00:42:42] Oh God, didn't take that spirit out of me yet.
[00:42:44] No, no, no, God took it out but you gotta let it go.
[00:42:47] So we're gonna talk about is your sin in remission today?
[00:42:51] Yep.
[00:42:53] Is it going opposite direction?
[00:42:56] It's going the opposite direction.
[00:42:58] Opposite direction.
[00:43:00] Yeah.
[00:43:01] The opposite direction.
[00:43:04] You know, this is, as soon as you put this in the chat,
[00:43:08] I was like, wow, this is gonna be a deep one
[00:43:10] because I think a lot of people,
[00:43:13] especially when you talk about certain sins,
[00:43:15] I think people have selective beliefs
[00:43:19] on what they call sin and what's not sin.
[00:43:21] Selected sin, did you say selected?
[00:43:23] Yeah, oh no, no, no, no, you got some people that,
[00:43:27] you know, come on guys,
[00:43:28] as we continue to talk about it now,
[00:43:29] you're gonna think of it too.
[00:43:31] I can think of a few people and even myself,
[00:43:35] again, earlier in my spiritual walk,
[00:43:38] there were some things I was doing
[00:43:40] and I was like, yeah, I'm good, God know my heart.
[00:43:42] Yeah, you always get that person, God know my heart,
[00:43:44] God know my heart.
[00:43:45] Now no, he wants to know your heart
[00:43:47] but he wants you to change too.
[00:43:50] You can't keep doing that sinful thing,
[00:43:52] knowing it's a sin and not try to at least change.
[00:43:56] And I think a lot of people have an issue
[00:43:58] with understanding the balance in changed
[00:44:01] and even acknowledging it.
[00:44:03] So that was one thing I was thinking about too as well.
[00:44:05] A lot of times, I know for me,
[00:44:08] I didn't even really look at gluttony as a sin
[00:44:10] until I really like really looked at it,
[00:44:11] I'm just being honest.
[00:44:12] Like absolutely, I know it's in the Bible,
[00:44:14] I've read it but I didn't really look at it like,
[00:44:17] oh, that's me.
[00:44:18] I need to really get my body together.
[00:44:20] No, no, I need to lose weight.
[00:44:22] No, no, I overeat, let's be very clear.
[00:44:24] Sometimes I could just have that one plate
[00:44:26] and be cool, I don't have to get the second plate
[00:44:29] and the dessert after it.
[00:44:31] Cause at some point am I full?
[00:44:34] Am I eating just to get the nutrients
[00:44:36] and get enough so that I'm not full or am I overeating?
[00:44:41] So again, for me, I wasn't even looking at it
[00:44:44] like it was a sin, Dice.
[00:44:45] Like, I didn't think,
[00:44:47] listen, I grew up on eating smorgasbord.
[00:44:49] Like yeah, everything in my family's functions
[00:44:53] was a buffet.
[00:44:54] Buffet was the way that I thought you supposed to eat.
[00:44:57] If you invite somebody over,
[00:44:59] you supposed to have a full spread.
[00:45:00] My mama, you would've never gone to my mama house
[00:45:02] and she invites you over and she ain't have a full spread.
[00:45:05] She wouldn't invite you.
[00:45:06] But I agree with the full spread.
[00:45:07] And let's, cause before we move on to all things spiritual,
[00:45:11] let's just be honest from a human standpoint.
[00:45:13] Don't invite me to your house,
[00:45:14] you ain't got no food
[00:45:15] and you telling me you're having a party.
[00:45:17] Don't do that.
[00:45:18] There's nothing worse than you
[00:45:20] and this shout out to everybody who you just got a home
[00:45:23] and you're inviting people over.
[00:45:24] When people come over,
[00:45:25] they wanna see you have options
[00:45:27] because everybody doesn't need the same thing
[00:45:29] and they also want a variety
[00:45:30] because everybody's palate isn't the same thing.
[00:45:32] Now when we talk about that gluttony piece though,
[00:45:34] I don't have to eat everything you put out there
[00:45:37] but you know, give me my choice
[00:45:39] and my fruits, my vegetables, my crackers,
[00:45:41] my protein, whatever.
[00:45:42] Like give me my drinks.
[00:45:43] Like give me some options here
[00:45:45] because people really be coming after work hungry
[00:45:48] and then y'all got like two things,
[00:45:50] some chips and a dip.
[00:45:52] No, don't do that.
[00:45:52] Don't do that.
[00:45:53] But don't do that.
[00:45:54] But yeah, when you're talking about gluttony,
[00:45:57] the chips and a dip.
[00:45:58] Yeah, don't do that.
[00:46:00] No, nope.
[00:46:01] Mm-mm, nope.
[00:46:02] And I got extra teeth in my mouth that cost some money
[00:46:04] so I can't just eat everybody's chips.
[00:46:07] But that whole gluttony piece,
[00:46:10] yeah, the gluttony,
[00:46:11] the part is it's a sin one
[00:46:14] because you shouldn't just sit there and overeat
[00:46:16] but two, why am I doing this?
[00:46:18] I'm hurting myself,
[00:46:19] which limits your ability to minister.
[00:46:21] So it's like, you know, two parts to that.
[00:46:23] But let's talk about the remission piece,
[00:46:25] the definition of remission
[00:46:27] because when you tell people stop sinning,
[00:46:28] stop sinning, what does that mean?
[00:46:30] It's like, it doesn't necessarily mean
[00:46:33] that you will get it right
[00:46:35] as soon as you realize it's a sin.
[00:46:37] And that's I think where the church has failed everybody.
[00:46:39] You know, and I say to church,
[00:46:41] but I'm just like, you know,
[00:46:42] it's easy to say stop doing something.
[00:46:45] But yeah, you need to paint the picture
[00:46:46] of what a stop really looks like.
[00:46:47] And a stop, you know, can sometimes look like,
[00:46:50] okay, today's the day you stop doing that this many times.
[00:46:54] And then by next week,
[00:46:55] you need to have a target of this many times
[00:46:57] or stop doing it.
[00:46:59] And if you fall backwards, it's okay,
[00:47:00] let's get back on the wagon, you know what I mean?
[00:47:03] So, but the remission piece is the,
[00:47:05] it means cancellation, setting aside,
[00:47:08] suspending, revoking, you know,
[00:47:12] like you want to really be serious about,
[00:47:17] you know, you being obedient to the word of God
[00:47:19] and really slowing down what that looks like.
[00:47:23] It's because it sometimes it takes people years
[00:47:25] to stop being a certain way and that's okay,
[00:47:27] but you got to keep trusting God to get through the moment.
[00:47:29] Like for somebody who smoked cigarettes
[00:47:31] since I started at 11
[00:47:33] and I stopped smoking when I had my son 25.
[00:47:35] So yeah, I started smoking cigarettes,
[00:47:37] start smoking weed, it took a minute, you know?
[00:47:40] And then one day I just asked God to just take it away.
[00:47:44] I was like, I'm not about to have no baby
[00:47:45] and still be doing stuff, you know, smoking.
[00:47:48] First of all, we ain't smoking in the house,
[00:47:49] you know, with a baby.
[00:47:51] And two, I want my lungs back
[00:47:53] because I can't run the way I used to run.
[00:47:55] And God snatched that right on away,
[00:47:57] but I had to give it up, I had to be very intentional.
[00:47:58] I told all my friends I'm not smoking no more.
[00:48:00] No, I'm not rolling the blunt no more.
[00:48:01] No, don't smoke around me.
[00:48:03] No, you can't smoke at my house.
[00:48:04] Like I had to really shut it down,
[00:48:06] but that shut it down part, it took like six months.
[00:48:11] Took about six months.
[00:48:12] So it wouldn't like, it was like an immediate yeah,
[00:48:14] God, this is me being very sinful,
[00:48:16] but it took like six months to really create an environment
[00:48:20] where everybody was on board
[00:48:21] with what's not gonna happen before Noah gets here.
[00:48:25] So, yeah.
[00:48:26] Well, it took me 14 years.
[00:48:27] So y'all talking your six months,
[00:48:29] it took me 14 years.
[00:48:30] I love what you just said that just real, just nice.
[00:48:34] It took me about six months to finally figure out
[00:48:36] I need to stop putting them sweets down
[00:48:38] and you know what I'm saying, them elves.
[00:48:40] No, no, it took me 14 years and to your point.
[00:48:44] But I had a catalyst for it.
[00:48:45] I had a baby on the way.
[00:48:46] So I was so grateful for the gift of the child.
[00:48:51] I was like, I don't wanna cause any harm.
[00:48:54] You know what I'm saying?
[00:48:55] So everybody don't have that catalyst.
[00:48:56] You know, you know, all right,
[00:48:58] you about to have a baby,
[00:48:59] you need to get your life together.
[00:49:01] Yeah, so it's okay that it took you longer.
[00:49:06] Yeah, but you know what?
[00:49:07] Something that you brought up a very key point
[00:49:09] when you talk about this specific topic.
[00:49:12] I think personal accountability comes to mind.
[00:49:17] Cause like you said, you finally hold yourself accountable
[00:49:20] saying, no, enough is enough.
[00:49:21] I can't hear this.
[00:49:22] Absolutely, it's for the greater good of my baby boy.
[00:49:27] And also myself, let's be very clear
[00:49:28] cause you even brought up the fact that yeah,
[00:49:30] you know, it was talking up your lungs.
[00:49:32] You could run like you wanted to run.
[00:49:35] A lot of people don't wanna acknowledge
[00:49:37] and have that, a lot of people don't wanna acknowledge
[00:49:41] the importance of personal accountability.
[00:49:42] And you need to stop, don't blame nobody else.
[00:49:45] Don't blame your culture, don't blame your surrounding.
[00:49:48] Take yourself out that surrounding
[00:49:50] if you need to take yourself out of that surrounding
[00:49:51] to get better.
[00:49:52] You brought up another fact.
[00:49:53] You say, you told all your partners,
[00:49:55] you told all your home girls.
[00:49:56] I ain't smoking no more.
[00:49:57] I ain't rolling no more.
[00:49:58] Stop asking me to twist them,
[00:50:00] blunt up that's personal accountability.
[00:50:02] And it's funny because it was a sermon
[00:50:04] that got me to stop.
[00:50:06] I'm beyond what you, I tell everybody,
[00:50:08] yeah, it was a sermon.
[00:50:09] My current church, shout out to my bishop, Dr. Ari Vernon.
[00:50:12] I promise you me and my wife were still smoking
[00:50:15] like Cheeba's side.
[00:50:16] Listen, we, on the way to, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:50:19] We wouldn't smoke no doobies on the way to church,
[00:50:21] but we had the Myles lit
[00:50:22] and we had one in the tray.
[00:50:25] So soon as we hopped out
[00:50:26] and hopped in the parking lot on the way home
[00:50:28] from service, we were smoking.
[00:50:30] But he preached a word one day
[00:50:32] that really, really just challenged us.
[00:50:35] And we went home and we went and talked about it
[00:50:37] and we prayed about it.
[00:50:39] And we did, we stopped.
[00:50:40] We stopped pretty much like you say cold turkey.
[00:50:43] I think I back slid maybe twice.
[00:50:45] I back slid maybe twice
[00:50:46] within maybe a couple months here
[00:50:47] but then I was pretty much good.
[00:50:49] But my wife was done.
[00:50:50] Like she was, now listen, I don't wanna smoke no more.
[00:50:53] I don't wanna drink no more.
[00:50:55] Let's really get focused on getting everything
[00:50:57] that God had for us.
[00:50:59] And yeah, our life, our life
[00:51:01] would change from that moment.
[00:51:02] Life has changed.
[00:51:03] So it was something.
[00:51:04] That's awesome.
[00:51:05] Yeah, it was definitely.
[00:51:06] Yeah, it's different for everybody.
[00:51:08] But you should see an active regression going on.
[00:51:12] You shouldn't be, you are just doing it the same way.
[00:51:14] You were doing it at the same speed you were doing.
[00:51:16] I remember like I wouldn't lead,
[00:51:18] especially in the drug phase.
[00:51:19] It was like we're not leaving without
[00:51:21] whatever we use to get high
[00:51:22] and we're not coming home without
[00:51:24] whatever we're using to get high.
[00:51:26] But then I'm just saying like,
[00:51:27] and if you're in that space, listen, you need to be like
[00:51:30] I'm gonna go as long as I can
[00:51:32] and trust God every single day.
[00:51:34] And I'm trying to tell you
[00:51:35] for those of you who have an addiction,
[00:51:37] like it might be every 30 minutes
[00:51:39] you got to go get your word
[00:51:41] or you got to go get on your knees
[00:51:42] or you got to go pray and you're like,
[00:51:43] Lord, just give me another 30 minutes
[00:51:44] and then you go in the bathroom.
[00:51:45] Lord, I need your strength to just keep on,
[00:51:48] you know, staying where I am.
[00:51:49] And it might take you like every hour
[00:51:51] for the first month to just really pull God in
[00:51:54] really and lean on him really hard.
[00:51:57] But you know what?
[00:51:58] It'll eventually get to a point
[00:51:59] where you don't, you forget about it.
[00:52:01] Join the ministry.
[00:52:02] You absolutely forget about it.
[00:52:04] That's what helped me guys.
[00:52:05] Join the ministry.
[00:52:06] Oh yeah.
[00:52:07] I joined outreach ministry
[00:52:08] and I was doing events
[00:52:09] and I was helping at shelters.
[00:52:11] I was helping, we used to give away groceries
[00:52:14] and stuff at our church.
[00:52:15] So I was up there two, three times a week
[00:52:18] packing groceries, loading you haul trucks
[00:52:20] full of groceries so we could go give out to community,
[00:52:23] go to shelters and pass out the toiletries
[00:52:26] and the deodorants and soaps and stuff like that
[00:52:28] giving you your care bag.
[00:52:30] Yeah, get active.
[00:52:31] Cause I knew if I would have stayed idle
[00:52:33] as soon as I got off work and I just went home
[00:52:35] aw the Lord knows I would have smoked me one.
[00:52:37] Listen, I'm rolling up something.
[00:52:39] Ain't nothing else to do.
[00:52:40] Especially in the summertime it's hot.
[00:52:42] Everybody out.
[00:52:43] Yeah, we don't, it's a kickback.
[00:52:45] So yes, I got active and you have to
[00:52:48] until you get strong enough
[00:52:49] in your spiritual practice.
[00:52:51] Cause to your point, you write dice.
[00:52:52] Definitely pray.
[00:52:53] But for me, I had to build myself up
[00:52:56] to get to that level
[00:52:57] to where I was all the way leaning
[00:52:59] in my spiritual practices of trusting God.
[00:53:01] I had to go be active and go do something
[00:53:03] and get away from it.
[00:53:04] So yeah, I pray that bless somebody cause yeah, be active.
[00:53:07] What's that?
[00:53:09] Keep it locked.
[00:53:10] We got to go to a quick break.
[00:53:11] We coming right back with more.
[00:53:13] You tune into the fix.
[00:53:14] And the fix is in.
[00:53:16] And we back DJ focus dice gamble
[00:53:18] in the middle of this real talk conversation.
[00:53:20] And we just talking about it today dice
[00:53:22] is you're seeing in remission
[00:53:24] and you've been bringing out some key points.
[00:53:26] I think a lot of people, you know, again
[00:53:31] are running away from, you know,
[00:53:33] really acknowledging that sinful behavior.
[00:53:35] And I know you want to put some Bible on that thing, huh?
[00:53:39] Well, I mean, I was saying this, you know
[00:53:41] when we were off air, that's it's why Christ died.
[00:53:46] It's why Christ died.
[00:53:47] So as we continue to try to blame God for our sin
[00:53:51] or we continue to pick up sin
[00:53:53] or we continue to be sinful.
[00:53:57] What are you doing?
[00:53:58] Because it's the whole reason why Jesus died for us.
[00:54:02] And it was to remove that guilt in the eye of God.
[00:54:07] It was to remove it and wash this clean.
[00:54:10] It was the Lamb of God who was slain
[00:54:12] who takes away the sin from the whole world, you know?
[00:54:16] So it's like, this is why Christ died for us
[00:54:20] is so that we would have a different look
[00:54:22] in the eyes of God.
[00:54:23] So that we wouldn't look like we were far away from God
[00:54:26] so that we could be reconciled to God.
[00:54:28] It's why Jesus died.
[00:54:30] So while we're continuing to sin
[00:54:33] or to add even more sin to our simple ways,
[00:54:38] I really don't know what God thinks about that, folks.
[00:54:39] And I'm just gonna put it out there like that.
[00:54:41] But the honest to God truth is
[00:54:43] that is why his son was sent, God's son was sent.
[00:54:47] You know, like this was the ultimate display of,
[00:54:50] hey, this is how I'm going to reconcile you with God.
[00:54:52] Because you guys are definitely,
[00:54:53] you ain't gonna make it home.
[00:54:55] You're not gonna make it home.
[00:54:56] And I know that because I came
[00:54:58] from where I want you to go back to.
[00:55:01] And listen, this is it.
[00:55:03] This is why Jesus did not get an answer when he asked,
[00:55:07] you know, Father, hey,
[00:55:09] if it was your will to take this cup from me
[00:55:10] cause you, hey, he's getting real out here
[00:55:12] in these streets and there was no answer.
[00:55:15] It was like, yeah, go ahead.
[00:55:16] If you think they're worth saving, let me see.
[00:55:19] What you gonna do, bust a move?
[00:55:21] So when we don't take it seriously,
[00:55:23] when we don't take our sin seriously,
[00:55:25] when we don't take our redemption seriously
[00:55:26] and the fact we were separated, alienated from God
[00:55:29] and it was Christ dying on the cross
[00:55:32] who went all the way to hell and snatched all the keys
[00:55:34] on our behalf.
[00:55:35] The fact that we continue to sin is super blasphemous.
[00:55:39] Absolutely disrespectful.
[00:55:40] Wow.
[00:55:41] And so it's like, that's why I'm like,
[00:55:43] it is the whole, it's everything our faith
[00:55:46] was based off of.
[00:55:47] That's where our power comes from.
[00:55:49] That's how we are washed clean in the sight of God.
[00:55:52] That's how we're able to come to the throne
[00:55:54] of grace and say, Lord, this is what I need.
[00:55:56] I need a healing.
[00:55:56] I need direction.
[00:55:57] I need your strength.
[00:55:59] That's how we get there.
[00:56:01] It's not because we were perfect.
[00:56:02] It's because Christ died for our sin.
[00:56:05] So that's why I'm like, when we act like
[00:56:06] we can't abandon something and take up the mantle,
[00:56:12] that's why God often looks at us sideways.
[00:56:14] That's why sometimes we have a delay in the thing we need.
[00:56:17] That's why we might not have that benefit.
[00:56:19] And this is true.
[00:56:20] And any God being tipped for tattus,
[00:56:21] God's saying, I sent my son and he died for that thing
[00:56:25] you call yourself addicted to.
[00:56:28] So you telling me that was a waste of my time?
[00:56:31] Was it a waste of, yeah, what are you talking about?
[00:56:33] Cause I'd be rude to you focus if I had to do that
[00:56:37] or if I ever did that where one of my kids
[00:56:40] was offering for a whole group of people
[00:56:42] and these people couldn't get it together.
[00:56:44] Yeah, I don't have too much to say to you.
[00:56:46] I gave you my everything.
[00:56:48] I gave you my all.
[00:56:49] I gave you my legacy and you can't get better.
[00:56:55] Are you serious?
[00:56:56] Okay.
[00:56:58] And he, okay.
[00:56:59] He didn't show you every which way that you can walk
[00:57:01] and lean on me for the power to walk away from that sin
[00:57:04] but you refuse to do it.
[00:57:05] Okay.
[00:57:06] He was pierced for our transgressions.
[00:57:09] He was crushed for our iniquity.
[00:57:12] You know, like it's a personal thing.
[00:57:14] That's why I'm like the relationship with Christ
[00:57:16] has to be personal.
[00:57:18] He himself bore his, our sins and his body on the cross
[00:57:22] so that we might have an opportunity to live
[00:57:28] and be in the presence of God one day.
[00:57:30] So that's why I'm like, we need to let our sin go.
[00:57:33] This is ridiculous.
[00:57:33] That's why I'm like, stop acting like God is powerless.
[00:57:36] God is all powerful but it's us who continue
[00:57:39] to choose to be sinful.
[00:57:41] So that's why I was like the question today is
[00:57:43] is your sin and remission?
[00:57:45] Because there was a price that was paid
[00:57:47] and trust me one day somebody gonna want to cash that check.
[00:57:52] Yeah, they definitely go wanna cash that thing.
[00:57:55] What you got?
[00:57:56] You better be ready.
[00:57:57] What you got?
[00:57:58] Yeah, you better be ready.
[00:57:58] What's the next thing?
[00:57:59] You better be ready.
[00:58:00] Yeah.
[00:58:01] And I mean, I know people like, like you said at the time
[00:58:02] well God knows my heart.
[00:58:03] Yeah, he knows your heart
[00:58:04] and he knows if you really trying
[00:58:06] to walk away from your sin.
[00:58:07] He knows like you don't get a,
[00:58:09] you can show us in the Instagram and the internet
[00:58:12] and you can lie at the family and all you want
[00:58:15] but God does know.
[00:58:17] And so that's why I'm like we need to take our sin
[00:58:20] as serious as we take anything else
[00:58:22] because our sin is a curse.
[00:58:24] But he has crisis redeemed us from that.
[00:58:28] That's why I'm like,
[00:58:29] that's how the enemy has a power over us.
[00:58:31] That's why half the time will fall into a some old
[00:58:34] what do you call it a insecurity, low self-esteem
[00:58:38] because we know the enemy also knows where we're weak
[00:58:40] cause we've been showing them every day.
[00:58:42] After we say we not sending,
[00:58:44] we show it, we show it and the enemy
[00:58:45] can see everything we do.
[00:58:47] You see everything we do.
[00:58:48] Oh, okay.
[00:58:49] Yeah, you tell your wife or your husband that
[00:58:50] and then boom, you go over there.
[00:58:51] Okay.
[00:58:52] Oh, you tell your wife or husband that
[00:58:53] and then boom, you turn the TV on to that.
[00:58:55] Okay.
[00:58:56] You tell your wife or your husband that
[00:58:57] and then boom, you're going by that.
[00:58:58] Okay.
[00:58:59] And that's he eat our lunch.
[00:59:00] He eat our lunch.
[00:59:01] That's why I'm like,
[00:59:02] that's the only power that the enemy
[00:59:04] really has over us is our sinful thought
[00:59:07] in our mind of, you know, whatever it is.
[00:59:10] So if I'm like nah, just get free.
[00:59:14] That should be the message for y'all in 2024
[00:59:16] for those of you who are struggling
[00:59:17] but just remember Christ died for our sins.
[00:59:21] Sin is a big deal.
[00:59:23] I think the world tries to minimize it
[00:59:25] and make it look like it's normal, you know?
[00:59:27] This is very normal.
[00:59:28] In movies and stuff like that
[00:59:29] was very normal to see three people in the bedroom.
[00:59:32] But it was very normal to see somebody doing cocaine
[00:59:34] on the table.
[00:59:35] It's so normal.
[00:59:35] It's like not normal.
[00:59:37] And not normal, probably.
[00:59:38] Not normal.
[00:59:39] Not normal but you see it so much
[00:59:41] in your human mind.
[00:59:42] You're like oh, everywhere I go
[00:59:43] I see people have neck it or people,
[00:59:45] every movie that's how it starts.
[00:59:48] We gotta grab the audience.
[00:59:49] No, you're really just showing us
[00:59:52] that sin is everywhere.
[00:59:54] And I've gotten, I walked out of a movie
[00:59:57] before focus, I swear.
[00:59:58] Like me and my friends went to go see one movie
[01:00:00] and as soon as the movie came on
[01:00:01] I was sitting there and I was like,
[01:00:03] yeah I didn't come here for this.
[01:00:06] Not what I came here for.
[01:00:07] I mean this is everywhere.
[01:00:08] The same way I came to this movie.
[01:00:10] And I left.
[01:00:11] And as petty as it is,
[01:00:12] I know I am often protecting my gates.
[01:00:16] Ear gates, eye gates, all of it.
[01:00:18] What I'm consuming because I know,
[01:00:20] especially as an artist like,
[01:00:22] hey that can get trapped somewhere
[01:00:24] inside of my creativity and then boom
[01:00:26] all of a sudden it's out here.
[01:00:27] And then you know, my whole audience
[01:00:29] thinks Dice is okay with that.
[01:00:30] No I'm not.
[01:00:32] No I'm not okay.
[01:00:33] Jesus is not okay with it.
[01:00:34] And we have to walk away from sin.
[01:00:36] And we have the power to do it in Christ so.
[01:00:40] Walking your power.
[01:00:42] You know what?
[01:00:42] And I think, not only walking your power
[01:00:45] but really recognize that it can have a negative,
[01:00:49] sin can have a negative impact on your mental wellbeing.
[01:00:52] I was just listening to you,
[01:00:53] you give those examples you walking out of the
[01:00:56] movie theater.
[01:00:57] Movie theater.
[01:00:58] From something you've seen on the screen
[01:00:59] and I'm just thinking yeah yeah.
[01:01:01] What's up?
[01:01:01] I see why.
[01:01:02] Because if it had an effect on you
[01:01:04] to when you know it was doing something
[01:01:06] to your spirit where your spirit is cringing like,
[01:01:08] no this ain't right.
[01:01:09] No no.
[01:01:10] We need to understand the psychological burden
[01:01:13] that sin can have on us.
[01:01:15] And this is why a lot of people,
[01:01:17] we bring it up all the time but I have to continue
[01:01:19] to talk about it.
[01:01:20] These toxic relationships you in.
[01:01:22] A lot of it is, y'all ain't supposed to be
[01:01:23] in these relationships at all.
[01:01:25] Well you know, at all.
[01:01:26] Like everything that you're doing in it
[01:01:29] is from a sin perspective and that's all you get.
[01:01:32] None of it what you putting into it.
[01:01:33] I'm telling you, nothing feels better as a parent
[01:01:36] when you know you have not shown your child
[01:01:38] a way to live and then they live that way
[01:01:40] and then something happened and then they call you.
[01:01:42] The first thing I say when they call me,
[01:01:44] focus, you know we got four kids.
[01:01:46] I ain't show you that.
[01:01:50] Listen, my eyes is where you learn that from?
[01:01:52] I show said to my daughter,
[01:01:53] I say who taught you that?
[01:01:54] It wasn't me.
[01:01:55] Yeah, I'm not, listen didn't show you that.
[01:01:58] You didn't get that from me.
[01:01:59] And guess what?
[01:02:00] Now that you stuck in it,
[01:02:01] I can't help you.
[01:02:02] Cause I don't know what you talking about.
[01:02:04] I ain't never showed you that.
[01:02:05] Sorry for your luck.
[01:02:07] You know, I'm sorry, I'm sorry you stuck.
[01:02:09] But guess what?
[01:02:10] That's called sin, right?
[01:02:12] And that's why Christ died for our redemption.
[01:02:14] You know, so we can be reconciled to God
[01:02:17] and this is just who we supposed to be following
[01:02:20] as our mentor.
[01:02:21] And that's why I often say this is easy.
[01:02:24] Once you get it, it's easy.
[01:02:25] Once you walk a little while, it's easy.
[01:02:27] Will you be challenged?
[01:02:28] Yes, but you get to make your yes and no
[01:02:31] what I'm gonna do and what I'm not gonna do
[01:02:32] a little bit faster and it's a little bit easier
[01:02:35] as you get older or more mature in the faith.
[01:02:37] Just like, nope, no thank you.
[01:02:39] Nope, nope, nope, nope.
[01:02:42] So yeah, it's just we gotta honor God better.
[01:02:45] And that's why I was like, man,
[01:02:46] is your sin and remission not have you stop sinning
[01:02:49] but are you actively trying not to be the old person
[01:02:52] you were before you knew Christ?
[01:02:54] That's important.
[01:02:55] It's important to God.
[01:02:56] You know, it's important to all of us, you know
[01:02:58] should be important to you as well.
[01:03:00] Like I'm not the same.
[01:03:01] I'm not who I was yesterday.
[01:03:02] So I'm not who I was.
[01:03:05] I'm not perfect.
[01:03:06] I'm not perfect but I'm showing who I am
[01:03:08] and I'm not trying to go back into what I was into before.
[01:03:10] Like you said, those toxic relationships
[01:03:13] and psychology teaches the first thing people
[01:03:16] who have been dating and in toxic relationship do often
[01:03:19] as they go backwards.
[01:03:20] They don't go for it.
[01:03:21] They look for, it's called a spirit of chaos
[01:03:24] is what we learned in ministry.
[01:03:25] It's like it's a chaotic spirit and this so crazy
[01:03:29] and I'm sure I'm gonna say this
[01:03:30] cause somebody gonna connect with it.
[01:03:32] You ever meet a person and you're like
[01:03:33] why are you keep picking the wrong person to be with?
[01:03:36] It's because they have had a chaotic spirit attached
[01:03:39] from before and so now they think I gotta be
[01:03:42] in a chaotic relationship and it's like no.
[01:03:45] And here's the deal, they'll get a good person in their life
[01:03:47] and then they'll mess it up
[01:03:48] cause they feel like it's too perfect.
[01:03:49] So not, it can't be right.
[01:03:51] Yeah, so they just do some,
[01:03:53] it's like this can't be right.
[01:03:54] He ain't hit me.
[01:03:55] He ain't beat me.
[01:03:56] He ain't slapped me so it can't be normal.
[01:03:58] You know, we ain't fighting.
[01:04:00] This can't be the right one.
[01:04:01] It's like okay but yeah, you need to pray about that
[01:04:04] cause you know, release that spirit of chaos.
[01:04:06] Cause that spirit of chaos.
[01:04:07] You need to go get some help.
[01:04:09] You need to go get some help.
[01:04:10] That's therapy, therapy too.
[01:04:11] But yeah, some people don't know.
[01:04:12] They're like, this just don't feel right.
[01:04:14] It's too perfect.
[01:04:15] It's like, yeah it's supposed to be unharming.
[01:04:18] You know what I'm saying?
[01:04:19] So yeah, but we gotta work on it.
[01:04:22] It's loving, loving is the word.
[01:04:24] I suppose you need to love it.
[01:04:25] I'm just saying like some people, they don't know.
[01:04:28] They don't know.
[01:04:29] Yeah, if a person ain't abusing me
[01:04:30] or talking crazy to me, they don't love me.
[01:04:32] If they ain't calling me out of my name,
[01:04:33] they don't love me.
[01:04:34] If they ain't dragging me by the hair down the steps,
[01:04:35] they don't love me.
[01:04:36] If they ain't putting their hands on me,
[01:04:37] they don't love me.
[01:04:38] No, you know?
[01:04:39] That's why I'm like, you know, come on now.
[01:04:41] But with all that being said, our sin should be in remission.
[01:04:45] Christ died for us to be able to release our sin
[01:04:49] and he died for all of our every sin.
[01:04:51] Like somebody posed a question to me once
[01:04:54] cause I was talking so much trash.
[01:04:57] I don't know, it might have been about a pedophile
[01:04:58] or something weird.
[01:04:59] And I was, oh I was going in cause you know,
[01:05:01] I do not like it when people touch kids.
[01:05:03] And the person I was talking to, they said,
[01:05:05] and they're worth saving too.
[01:05:09] And I was like, you're right.
[01:05:12] You're right.
[01:05:12] Yes, they are.
[01:05:13] You're absolutely right.
[01:05:14] And it was just one of my Christian friends checking me,
[01:05:17] like okay, yeah, okay.
[01:05:18] So your sinful idea of that everybody needs to go to hell.
[01:05:21] You gotta let that go guys.
[01:05:23] Cause you know, come on now.
[01:05:25] None of us are above what we think
[01:05:27] and everybody is worth saving
[01:05:29] and everybody has an opportunity until,
[01:05:32] until that opportunity is gone,
[01:05:33] to that last breath is gone.
[01:05:35] So I was like, yeah.
[01:05:38] That's good.
[01:05:39] Spiritual growth.
[01:05:40] Spiritual growth.
[01:05:41] Spiritual growth.
[01:05:42] I'm thinking spiritual growth.
[01:05:43] That check yourself sometimes.
[01:05:44] And character development.
[01:05:45] I think that's that.
[01:05:46] Yeah, check yourself out.
[01:05:47] Every sin isn't one that you can see.
[01:05:50] Some of our sins are the ones we harbor on the inside
[01:05:53] and they don't come out until it's the perfect
[01:05:55] moment and then we just, you know, let it out.
[01:05:57] So that's why I was like,
[01:05:58] I think a good key to this is your sin and remission
[01:06:01] is doing a self-analyzation maybe every few months
[01:06:04] to see where am I being,
[01:06:07] where do I not align with the word of God?
[01:06:10] Where does my life not align with the word of God?
[01:06:12] That's good.
[01:06:13] All right, praying for y'all.
[01:06:15] That's it.
[01:06:16] Yeah, that's it.
[01:06:17] That's it for the real, real.
[01:06:18] We praying for y'all and we praying for us
[01:06:20] so we can continue to get better.
[01:06:21] Yeah, let's get better.
[01:06:23] Hey, don't touch that dial.

[01:07:54] I hope you're having a very, very blessed day.
[01:07:56] But we want to say happy birthday to Dylan Gilmer.
[01:07:59] He is a 14 year old rapper for those of you
[01:08:02] who are following the young and up and coming,
[01:08:04] you know, MCs out here in the streets.
[01:08:06] And we want to say a very happy birthday
[01:08:08] to Kaye Michelle, the R&B singer.
[01:08:11] She was born in Memphis, Tennessee.
[01:08:13] She had the single fake in it and can't do this.
[01:08:16] And, you know, she attended,
[01:08:18] hey, shout out to all things Florida A&M.
[01:08:21] She was out there on the music scholarship
[01:08:23] and she also was on the reality TV show,
[01:08:25] Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.
[01:08:27] And we want to say a special happy birthday
[01:08:29] to focus his favorite basketball player, Draymond Green.
[01:08:34] Saginaw, what is Saginaw?
[01:08:37] Yeah, this NBA forward, you know,
[01:08:39] he was drafted 35, 35th overall
[01:08:42] by the Golden State Warriors in 2012.
[01:08:45] He's helped them win championships in 2015,
[01:08:48] 2017, 2018 and 2022.
[01:08:50] He was named, you know, his first All-Star Game
[01:08:55] in 2016 and 2017.
[01:08:57] And he was named NBA defensive player of the year.
[01:09:00] So happy birthday to you, Draymond Green
[01:09:03] and also to Kenzo B, the rapper
[01:09:06] and as well as I got a breast and power,
[01:09:09] Bobby Christina Brown.
[01:09:11] Everybody knows this Whitney Houston's baby girl.
[01:09:14] She was featured on the reality series,
[01:09:15] The Houston's on our own and being Bobby Brown.
[01:09:20] Oh, there was a guy who invented the stoplight.
[01:09:23] Focus today is his birthday also rest in power.
[01:09:26] The inventor Garrett Morgan, an African American inventor
[01:09:30] who invented that three position traffic signal.
[01:09:34] So shout out to him.
[01:09:36] Happy birthday to everybody today
[01:09:38] and shout out to my three favorite basketball players.
[01:09:41] Draymond didn't make the list.
[01:09:43] Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and LeBron James.
[01:09:47] If anybody ever wants to know
[01:09:48] who is his favorite basketball players of all time.
[01:09:52] And those are my three of all time.
[01:09:54] I like to keep it at three.
[01:09:55] I got a couple more.
[01:09:56] Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and LeBron James.
[01:10:00] Let's be very clear.
[01:10:01] Those are my three favorite basketball players of all time.
[01:10:04] Happy birthday to you, Draymond Green.
[01:10:06] But I do want you to stop playing so dirty.
[01:10:08] I know you think that prison ball is the way,
[01:10:12] but I don't, you know.
[01:10:14] Prison balls, not the way.
[01:10:15] Well, at times, you know, he tries to bully on people
[01:10:18] and I'm thinking like,
[01:10:20] I would love for him to have played back in the 90s era
[01:10:23] and see if he still had that same energy back when.
[01:10:26] Oh, it was the Detroit bad boys.
[01:10:29] Oh, Houston Rockets.
[01:10:31] New York Knicks had Mason Anthony Mason
[01:10:34] who was an enforcer, Charles Oakley.
[01:10:37] I can go down the list that I know for a fact.
[01:10:39] I don't know Draymond if you were lining up
[01:10:41] with some of these old school,
[01:10:43] you know what I'm saying, players where, yeah,
[01:10:46] go to the hole and see what Bill Lambert or John Sally
[01:10:49] or somebody do to you.
[01:10:51] See what Morty Malone would have did to you.
[01:10:53] Morty Malone was another one that was solid in the 80s.
[01:10:56] You came down that middle.
[01:10:57] Yeah, yeah.
[01:11:00] But you know what Draymond?
[01:11:02] I will say this again, you are a champion.
[01:11:04] Don't know whatever to not add.
[01:11:06] When you don't play dirty ball,
[01:11:08] you actually are very much a strong basketball player.
[01:11:11] We know you will be in the Hall of Fame
[01:11:13] so I would never be disrespectful
[01:11:14] to you just in case you listen to it.
[01:11:16] Yeah, but you know, chill out on all that dirty stuff.
[01:11:18] That stuff ain't called for.
[01:11:19] It's not about your own team.
[01:11:21] I don't know how you get in fights with your own teammates.
[01:11:24] I get it.
[01:11:25] I know Mike did it too as well.
[01:11:26] So don't act ignorant.
[01:11:28] But Mike is different.
[01:11:30] Mike is different.
[01:11:31] You all can't be Mike.
[01:11:33] Can't be Mike.
[01:11:34] Mike get passes that everybody else don't get.
[01:11:36] And I ain't saying everything Mike did was right.
[01:11:39] I'm saying that.
[01:11:40] Mike get passes that everybody don't get.
[01:11:43] Yeah, Mike is different.
[01:11:45] That's right.
[01:11:46] It's out to all the centers out there
[01:11:47] and you know still struggling with your flesh
[01:11:49] and trying to fight that sin.
[01:11:51] Shout out.
[01:11:51] I love my centers.
[01:11:53] They're my cousins and my promise you
[01:11:54] I kick it with all the centers dice.
[01:11:56] I'll be trying to be out here in these streets
[01:11:58] with the centers because I know God will be pleased
[01:12:01] with the transformation process.
[01:12:03] And I think that's something that I take away
[01:12:06] from our conversation today when we talked about
[01:12:08] you know is your sin and remission.
[01:12:10] Right.
[01:12:11] Absolutely.
[01:12:11] I think personal development and spiritual growth
[01:12:14] are keys to yes, you getting better.
[01:12:18] You walking away from some of that sin.
[01:12:21] You know you need to walk away from.
[01:12:22] Yeah, you've been doing that thing for 20 years.
[01:12:24] Don't act funny.
[01:12:26] You know not like 20 years.
[01:12:28] I already shared with you.
[01:12:30] It took me 14 years to stop abusing my body
[01:12:33] with you know drugs and alcohol.
[01:12:35] Like let's be very clear.
[01:12:36] 14.
[01:12:37] That's what I say when you said you did in six.
[01:12:39] I say every every chance.
[01:12:41] Sometimes I hate this show because I was like
[01:12:43] every time I hear somebody else testimony
[01:12:45] it made me feel even worse like God that day.
[01:12:47] God why take me so long.
[01:12:49] What why I feel like I'm the only heathen out here.
[01:12:52] Y'all two months and God delivering me.
[01:12:54] God touch me.
[01:12:55] No, 14 years.
[01:12:57] I don't know what you talking about.
[01:12:59] I thought that thing if 14 I ain't stopped till I was 28
[01:13:02] and I did it hard.
[01:13:03] That's very good.
[01:13:04] I was a good one.
[01:13:06] Yeah.
[01:13:07] Yeah.
[01:13:08] Well, teach his own.
[01:13:09] Teach his own.
[01:13:10] God does what he does in his own time
[01:13:11] and it's a partnership right.
[01:13:13] So it's a relationship and I'll be real with you.
[01:13:15] I bet you got a lot of stories in between there though.
[01:13:17] Like, you know, you know, I've had one girl
[01:13:21] one of my friends and she had never like really done
[01:13:23] anything wrong and I was feeling guilty one day.
[01:13:26] Same same way.
[01:13:27] Same way you talking about like man,
[01:13:28] you been in church.
[01:13:29] You just been wanting to do right.
[01:13:30] It's like yeah, yeah.
[01:13:31] But you know what?
[01:13:32] I got way more stories to share with people.
[01:13:35] Way more people that I can reach because of my sin.
[01:13:38] Not saying that's why you should send,
[01:13:39] but I'm just saying like yeah,
[01:13:41] now I can identify a little bit differently
[01:13:43] like what people struggle.
[01:13:45] Do you have a regret for for specific sin that you did
[01:13:48] that you kind of like regret that you did it?
[01:13:51] I know for me, I'm being honest with you.
[01:13:53] I think I really wish I'm being honest with you.
[01:13:58] I would have never got to, you know,
[01:13:59] kind of like have my little weed addiction
[01:14:01] and drinking addiction.
[01:14:03] I really would love to see where my life would have been.
[01:14:07] And maybe how far I could have probably possibly continue
[01:14:09] to go with maybe plans for it.
[01:14:12] Just doing anything else.
[01:14:13] I'm beyond what you I spent a lot of money on recreational high.
[01:14:18] So that in itself, if I could get that money back
[01:14:22] and maybe started off in real estate or started off
[01:14:25] and that's in the stock marketer, something else
[01:14:28] that I can't get none of those.
[01:14:30] I'll probably spend millions of dollars on that stuff.
[01:14:32] I'm just being honest, just regularly going to clubs,
[01:14:35] regularly stocking up my home bar,
[01:14:37] regularly buying my supply that I'm smoking two, three
[01:14:41] doobies every single day.
[01:14:43] You do that times 30.
[01:14:44] Yeah, you do the math on that.
[01:14:46] Yeah, yeah, it was.
[01:14:48] I had a cigarette habit at one point,
[01:14:50] black and mild habit at one point.
[01:14:52] I'm just saying like even if I got a 10 year window back,
[01:14:55] a 10 year window of all that money I spent on just
[01:14:58] alcohol, beer, weed, cigarettes, black and mild.
[01:15:03] Going to clubs because again, when you drink,
[01:15:06] you go to clubs, you go to bars every day.
[01:15:08] You know, watching sports or going out, dancing and stuff.
[01:15:12] Like if I could get all that money back, I really like
[01:15:15] I'll be up, guys.
[01:15:16] I'll be up.
[01:15:17] Well, you can keep all the money.
[01:15:19] I would just want my child back.
[01:15:20] My first marriage, my husband didn't want to have the baby that we had.
[01:15:24] So I had an abortion.
[01:15:25] So if I could get back anything in his life,
[01:15:28] that's the only thing I want back.
[01:15:30] And when you talk about being married to somebody who's
[01:15:32] when you're unequally yoked, and this is this is the story for somebody right now.
[01:15:37] You're married to somebody who's unequally yoked.
[01:15:39] Say you believe you're a believer and you're trying to follow a man,
[01:15:42] but he's not a man of God.
[01:15:44] Well, you might get yourself caught up in a situation
[01:15:47] and it took a teenager to bring this to to my awareness.
[01:15:54] I never forget I was doing a ministry event
[01:15:55] and I was just letting the girls know
[01:15:57] I know what they've been through just at the third.
[01:15:58] And I would never forget my homeboy preacher's daughter
[01:16:02] and I was just telling them, yeah, I've been through that
[01:16:04] and please don't do that.
[01:16:05] And this is why.
[01:16:06] And then one little girl said, so you was married.
[01:16:10] And I was like, yeah.
[01:16:12] And she said, and you had an abortion.
[01:16:15] And I said, yeah.
[01:16:17] She said, hmm.
[01:16:19] And then and then I was like, God,
[01:16:22] we're even thought about it.
[01:16:23] I'm just following somebody who don't trust God.
[01:16:26] I'm married to somebody who don't trust God.
[01:16:28] And I'm just doing whatever they're whatever they are suggesting.
[01:16:31] Oh, my first girlfriend did that.
[01:16:33] So, you know, it's nothing.
[01:16:34] Let me let me go ahead and take you.
[01:16:36] Oh.
[01:16:38] So.
[01:16:40] Yeah, I know you weren't ready for that.
[01:16:41] So yeah, you keep the money and keep all the weed I bought,
[01:16:43] all the drugs I did, all the money I spent,
[01:16:46] all the cars I bought, all the houses I had built from the ground up,
[01:16:49] all the people, all the cute people, fine people, all the you can keep it all.
[01:16:54] Yeah, one day.
[01:16:55] And I never forget that's why I said I really like that line in LaCrae song.
[01:16:58] Like, you know, like one day hopefully I get to see you face to face.
[01:17:01] You know what I'm saying?
[01:17:01] Like, yeah, you want to talk about sins?
[01:17:05] That's the only one.
[01:17:06] So I mean, that's why I'd be free on the show.
[01:17:08] This will be so free.
[01:17:09] Like, I haven't been through it all.
[01:17:13] And that's just one part of it.
[01:17:14] But yeah, I am pro life for those of you who got any questions.
[01:17:19] That's why I tell my whole life to as well.
[01:17:22] I just never heard that dice.
[01:17:23] I'm beyond what she I've heard a lot of stories.
[01:17:25] I've never heard a married couple.
[01:17:28] Yeah, yeah.
[01:17:29] That was the feeling.
[01:17:30] I'm not ready.
[01:17:30] We're not ready.
[01:17:31] I'm not ready.
[01:17:32] We're not ready.
[01:17:33] I said, wow, I'm not ready.
[01:17:35] We're not ready.
[01:17:36] Yeah.
[01:17:37] Let's go ahead and make that trip to the ATL.
[01:17:42] Yep.
[01:17:42] So all of those for all of those of you who are you struggling right now?
[01:17:46] You know, not a lot of not unless you got and told you different
[01:17:49] or something is dramatically wrong with that baby
[01:17:51] or the or the mom's life is absolutely in danger.
[01:17:54] So yeah, but yeah, I mean, obviously God has forgiven me for that.
[01:17:59] And I was I was ignorant.
[01:18:00] I didn't know.
[01:18:01] I mean, I didn't know a lot at that point in life.
[01:18:03] I was just trying to do what I knew to do.
[01:18:06] And I was like, OK, I can't fight who I'm married to.
[01:18:10] Can't leave him.
[01:18:11] Can't get you know, say so you just walking, you know,
[01:18:13] you walking down the path of trying to be like,
[01:18:16] man, I want to honor this.
[01:18:18] And I know I can't do life on my own.
[01:18:19] And I want to man to help me raise the kid, you know,
[01:18:22] like you just go and do it.
[01:18:23] Yeah. And then I pray for my son.
[01:18:25] I said, man, Lord, send them back, send them back.
[01:18:27] And so yeah, here comes Noah two months later.
[01:18:29] So I was grateful.
[01:18:31] So yeah.
[01:18:32] But yeah, everybody don't get the opportunity.
[01:18:33] Focus some people have an abortion and never can have kids again.
[01:18:36] Turns out the doctor scraped them the wrong way.
[01:18:38] So yeah.
[01:18:41] But I counted a blessing.
[01:18:42] It's a lesson that I get to use now to tell people marry somebody
[01:18:45] who loves the Lord.
[01:18:47] Like that is my I can't tell you what to do in this life.
[01:18:50] But if you're going to get married, please let them love the Lord
[01:18:53] and trust God and follow, you know, follow God.
[01:18:59] Here we go.
[01:19:00] That's good. That's good.
[01:19:01] Thanks for sharing that dice.
[01:19:03] You're welcome.
[01:19:04] Jeanine White, how good was she?
[01:19:05] Jeanine White.
[01:19:07] Please fantastic.
[01:19:08] I am still excited about all the songs on the project,
[01:19:11] even the intersouludes.
[01:19:12] And I'm just happy.
[01:19:14] Like you said, it took me 15 years
[01:19:15] to put all these songs on one project.
[01:19:18] And she went ahead and did it regardless of the feedback.
[01:19:22] And I love that because I'm like, man, God puts a song in your heart for a season.
[01:19:27] But I think as artists, we often want to try to keep up with what's relevant.
[01:19:32] And that's when you're out of the will of God.
[01:19:34] I'll be real with you.
[01:19:36] One of my most popular songs is off my first album.
[01:19:40] And that thing is everybody knows it's dated,
[01:19:42] but it just touches people's hearts.
[01:19:44] Sometimes I want to do what I want to do is the name of the song.
[01:19:47] Sometimes I want to go where I want to go.
[01:19:48] Sometimes I want to say what I want to say, you know,
[01:19:50] but God is you who keeps me and people for some reason
[01:19:53] can connect with that song a lot, you know?
[01:19:57] And so I'm just happy that I'm like, yeah, I get it.
[01:20:00] Put out put out what God puts on your heart to put out.
[01:20:03] And that's exactly what she did.
[01:20:05] And so I'm just happy to have her on here to hear her story
[01:20:09] and, you know, to see her pushing through and shout out for women's history.
[01:20:12] Because she's definitely a woman.
[01:20:14] You and I both know her strength and her resilience has helped us
[01:20:18] collectively have a lot of things in life that we probably wouldn't have without her.
[01:20:22] So we're just going to go out there.
[01:20:26] All right, y'all, listen, we ought to hear Go Out Be Great today.
[01:20:29] We love y'all. Catch us tomorrow on Tiptoe Tuesday.
[01:20:32] Same time, same place as always.
[01:20:35] Remember to stay focused on turning your negative into a positive.
[01:20:38] Jesus Christ is always the answer.
[01:20:40] Kingdom of the Ants should always be the goal.
[01:20:42] The fix is in. We out.
[01:20:44] Peace out.
