[00:03:24] Hopefully you guys can hear us well, and hopefully you guys had a good week.
[00:03:29] Everybody listening, hopefully you had a good week.
[00:03:32] Luke, do you have any announcements for anybody?
[00:03:38] Not too much, man.
[00:03:42] I've been dealing with my shoulder pain that I've had for a while with my muscle.
[00:03:49] And I had the thought to maybe show somebody that might be dealing with pains in their bodies or joints and ligaments.
[00:03:58] Something that I've been using for quite a while now.
[00:04:00] And it's actually been really effective at just kind of taking the tension out of my muscles.
[00:04:08] Because you're quite honestly electrocuting yourself with this thing.
[00:04:12] It's like you can turn it up, put it on a tendon, like on my neck right here.
[00:04:18] My whole arm will jump.
[00:04:19] I'll do a demonstration for you.
[00:04:22] This is wicked.
[00:04:25] It's not comfortable.
[00:04:27] It kind of hurts a little bit.
[00:04:28] Let's see.
[00:04:30] Get this thing right.
[00:04:35] So it's shocking you?
[00:04:38] Yeah, it's...
[00:04:40] Oh, dang it.
[00:04:41] Let me go to this.
[00:04:43] Yeah.
[00:04:44] It's putting electricity in my hair.
[00:04:47] Let's see.
[00:04:49] Yeah.
[00:04:51] That's a lot of movement.
[00:04:54] Yeah.
[00:04:54] That...
[00:04:55] Oh, yeah.
[00:04:56] If it hits that tendon, it runs all the way down the arm.
[00:04:59] And I look like I have cerebral palsy.
[00:05:03] But...
[00:05:03] Yeah.
[00:05:04] Anyways, it's just something...
[00:05:05] You know, it's something I got at Walmart.
[00:05:07] You know, at the ad scene on TV aisle.
[00:05:10] And I'm thinking about researching some better devices and different things like that.
[00:05:14] Like maybe some patches or nodes or something that are more effective on isolating the area.
[00:05:22] So I'm pretty happy to have found a solution to this so long.
[00:05:27] You know, something that might at least take the edge off of it.
[00:05:30] And I thank God for that.
[00:05:33] You know, to lead me to use that.
[00:05:35] And just say, I'm going to see what that's about.
[00:05:38] Yeah.
[00:05:40] Great.
[00:05:40] What's it called?
[00:05:46] But yeah, Mike, I'm not wanting to cooperate with me right now.
[00:05:50] Yeah.
[00:05:50] Yeah.
[00:05:51] I can hear you.
[00:05:51] It's all right.
[00:05:53] What's that thing called?
[00:05:56] Oh, this thing.
[00:05:58] It's called a...
[00:06:06] Hemp Vanna.
[00:06:08] Like hemp, the plant.
[00:06:10] I guess Hemp Vanna is the company.
[00:06:13] And it's called Rocket.
[00:06:18] Hemp Vanna.
[00:06:19] Yeah.
[00:06:22] And it just takes like a AA battery.
[00:06:25] Yeah.
[00:06:25] Oh, yeah, dude.
[00:06:26] Yeah.
[00:06:26] And I've been using it, I guess, enough in the past few days where I had to replace the
[00:06:31] AA battery in it today.
[00:06:33] Because I started cranking up the...
[00:06:35] Eventually, you're cranking the voltage up because it's just...
[00:06:39] You know, you're really trying to get that thing worked out.
[00:06:42] And yeah.
[00:06:44] Yeah.
[00:06:44] Yeah.
[00:06:45] It pulses.
[00:06:46] Eventually, when I first tried it out, it was on the low setting.
[00:06:49] And I was touching it in my skin.
[00:06:51] I'm like, oh, it's like, it's kind of shocking me a little bit, like a static shock.
[00:06:54] Yeah.
[00:06:55] And I was like, man, this is all it does is surface level, like skin stuff.
[00:07:00] But then you crank it up, you know, more numbers.
[00:07:02] And it's just like, oh, that's actually...
[00:07:05] It actually speeds up the amount of pulses you're getting per second.
[00:07:09] Basically, it's like...
[00:07:10] You know, or a real slow.
[00:07:13] So it's like a massage gun, basically, but with electricity.
[00:07:18] Cool.
[00:07:19] Which is amazing.
[00:07:20] So maybe that might help somebody.
[00:07:22] Yeah.
[00:07:23] Hopefully, somebody...
[00:07:25] Hopefully, you just did an endorsement for them.
[00:07:29] Exactly.
[00:07:31] Exactly.
[00:07:32] Yeah, exactly.
[00:07:34] I did.
[00:07:35] Yeah.
[00:07:36] Cool.
[00:07:38] Yeah.
[00:07:39] So we're going to be...
[00:07:41] So we're going to talk on Proverbs.
[00:07:45] Since it's kind of a short book, I guess we're not really going to go over just like one verse.
[00:07:50] We can just kind of summarize it tonight.
[00:07:55] So we'll just wing it, see how that goes.
[00:07:59] Yeah.
[00:08:02] Yeah.
[00:08:04] Yeah.
[00:08:05] Proverbs is...
[00:08:06] It's written by Solomon, which we did a pretty good episode on Solomon, I think.
[00:08:12] I don't remember which one it was.
[00:08:13] It was about...
[00:08:14] It was probably four or five episodes ago, I think.
[00:08:18] Maybe more than that.
[00:08:21] But Solomon was an interesting character.
[00:08:24] And we didn't even really get into Proverbs on that one.
[00:08:26] And I think we talked mostly on Ecclesiastes, where he's in.
[00:08:31] Yeah.
[00:08:32] So I think it was a good idea, Luke, that you proposed that we talk on Proverbs, because we haven't really done that very much.
[00:08:40] Oh, yeah.
[00:08:42] But yeah.
[00:08:43] Yeah.
[00:08:44] I think...
[00:08:46] I don't...
[00:08:48] Did he write the whole Proverbs?
[00:08:50] I know he wrote most of it.
[00:08:52] I think it's kind of like David, where maybe somebody...
[00:08:55] There was also other people that wrote the Psalms, too.
[00:08:59] I'm not sure.
[00:09:00] I think it was solely their writings.
[00:09:06] Well, I don't know.
[00:09:07] I've never really heard anything different.
[00:09:10] But he wrote all those songs.
[00:09:14] And then, of course, they're called Psalms, but they're songs.
[00:09:17] So these are actually written to be sung or spoken over music.
[00:09:24] And so there's, quite honestly, legitimate music that was written for these Psalms.
[00:09:31] And they've even been able to uncover the sheet music for this type of thing in archaeology.
[00:09:39] So you can actually hear the type of tunes they were playing to certain Psalms also.
[00:09:45] And you're like, wow, they actually composed a worship song here using his writings.
[00:09:52] And I'm like, oh, okay.
[00:09:53] It'd be nice if we implemented that in the modern church.
[00:09:58] And if we could find out what the music sounded like to the psalm we're looking at,
[00:10:04] why can't we spend a little bit of time seeing that one in church once in a while?
[00:10:11] You know?
[00:10:12] Good point, yeah.
[00:10:13] That'd be something special.
[00:10:15] But nah, we got to figure it out.
[00:10:19] We like what we like.
[00:10:24] But not too interested in the details, I don't think, sadly.
[00:10:28] Yeah.
[00:10:29] Unfortunately, church seems to be, it's all, it's presented to entertain people, I think, more than anything.
[00:10:41] So that's probably the issue there.
[00:10:46] Yeah.
[00:10:47] Yeah.
[00:10:49] It just, I don't know, it just ran over my mind.
[00:10:52] And I posted something that Matty Montgomery said on our band page.
[00:10:57] And I found it really interesting was, he said, most people are coming to church desiring to be fed.
[00:11:06] Like, I need to get fed this week, so I'm going to go to church on Sunday.
[00:11:09] And then, and I've found myself doing this too.
[00:11:13] But he made a good point that, you know, church shouldn't be somewhere that you need to go to get fed.
[00:11:21] It should be, you should already be full from the week of spending time in prayer, spending time with God, reading the word.
[00:11:28] And I think church should be a place where, you know, you pour out what God has already, has been giving to you during the week.
[00:11:40] And so, to others, you're pouring it out to others.
[00:11:44] And he made that good point of, you know, we should be heading into church like, oh my gosh, I heard a word from God.
[00:11:51] Or, you know, I've been praying with God and he's been sharing with me how I should pray over this person that's at church.
[00:11:58] And so I'm going to, I can't wait to get to church because I got to pour out this prayer towards this person.
[00:12:03] Or I'm going to prophesy over somebody.
[00:12:05] And that's just a great perspective, I think, that we are missing in church.
[00:12:11] Of course.
[00:12:12] You know, yeah, you know, we're using church to try and be, to be fed when we should already be full during the week.
[00:12:20] I think that was a really good point by him.
[00:12:23] And just a, just a good perspective for myself, you know, just.
[00:12:27] Of course.
[00:12:28] Or, you know, we, as believers, we need to remember that we're, we should be spending time with God more than on Sundays and be hoping to be filled up on Sundays.
[00:12:41] We should be desiring to be filled up by him every day of the week.
[00:12:46] So, yeah, that was just, yeah, something that I felt like I ran over this week.
[00:12:51] I felt like that was something God was putting on my heart to, to remind myself as well.
[00:12:56] So, yeah, I think church should be, if we look at it in that perspective that we're, we're headed to church to go to pour out what God has been giving us all week.
[00:13:07] I think that's a great perspective.
[00:13:09] So just hope that you wanted to share that.
[00:13:13] But back to Proverbs.
[00:13:17] So it says here, Proverbs was written probably around 900 years before Jesus, which isn't amazing.
[00:13:26] It says, you know, Solomon is the king of Israel at this time.
[00:13:37] He's, you know, at the, at the pinnacle of his life politically, culturally, spiritually.
[00:13:43] And he's just got, I mean, what, what, what we talk about on our episode with Solomon is says, you know, he's like the wisest man that we know of.
[00:13:54] And then at the end of Ecclesiastes, he pretty much boils down his whole life as, as, as, you know, pretty much nothing in the world matters.
[00:14:06] Yeah.
[00:14:07] Yeah.
[00:14:08] Yeah.
[00:14:08] Yeah.
[00:14:08] Life is meaningless.
[00:14:10] Like he needs like pretty much fear God and keep his commandments was, was pretty much how he, uh, what he came to his knowledge.
[00:14:19] So, uh, that's interesting to me.
[00:14:21] Um, yeah, it was Solomon was David's, uh, no, no, that wasn't his dad.
[00:14:29] I thought so.
[00:14:31] I think Solomon is, uh, or no, Solomon is his son.
[00:14:36] Yeah.
[00:14:37] Oh, Solomon was David's son.
[00:14:38] Solomon was the, um, was produced by, uh, David and Bathsheba.
[00:14:45] Right.
[00:14:46] Okay.
[00:14:46] Right.
[00:14:47] I'm not, I don't think I'm confused.
[00:14:49] Very, very, I think so because he didn't have a white kid with another wife.
[00:14:56] I don't think the first child that they were supposed to have, uh, she had a miscarriage and that's when he was wailing in the temple saying, Oh, I've been being punished for my sin of adultery and murder.
[00:15:11] And, you know, when it probably wanted to kill himself was feeling guilty about that.
[00:15:16] And then they conceived another child because now it's kind of like, well, you know, we're together now, you know?
[00:15:23] Um, so that's really just how God brings all of this out of, you know, sin is actually, uh, cultivated for good and, and, and God's, uh, way of things, doing things.
[00:15:40] Yeah.
[00:15:41] And, uh, you know, his processes.
[00:15:43] So, yeah.
[00:15:45] Yeah.
[00:15:46] Solomon's interesting character.
[00:15:47] I think in my brain, I get Solomon and Samson mixed up a little bit.
[00:15:51] So hopefully I'm not mixing that up.
[00:15:52] But, but, uh, but I do know, yeah, Solomon was David and Bathsheba's son.
[00:16:04] And it's very interesting that through sin was produced the wisest man at that time, which is amazing.
[00:16:15] Yeah.
[00:16:15] Yeah, exactly.
[00:16:16] So, again, so we see, again, we see God redeeming, um, redeeming something probably because of, you know, David's, David's faith.
[00:16:27] I mean, ultimately because God is gracious and merciful and he's good.
[00:16:32] Um, so he uses all things for good, but he definitely redeemed a sinful act that David was, uh, uh, extremely upset about.
[00:16:42] Um, and, you know, Solomon is, is used mightily in the Bible.
[00:16:47] Uh, oh yeah.
[00:16:49] And just still to this day is known as the richest man who ever lived, the wisest man who ever lived.
[00:16:58] Because you live, you live for so many years and people that know you record that in their minds and in their history.
[00:17:07] And just like Confucius or Buddha, these people actually lived long enough to impose wisdom that was worth retaining, you know, and worth passing down to the rest of the generations.
[00:17:24] And, uh, it's amazing that we even care enough to, like, uh, you know, preserve that.
[00:17:30] But that's the, the saints among us that decided this is something we have to keep.
[00:17:37] Yeah.
[00:17:37] And, uh, even, even for Buddha and their followers, they were like, yeah, this is good stuff.
[00:17:42] Let's not, uh, let's not forsake this wisdom here.
[00:17:47] And, and, and it's just, isn't it interesting that a lot of the wisdom that comes from these other religions is just exactly on point with the, with the, uh, values and, uh, um, the way God wants us to live, uh, in the, in Solomon's writings and in, in, in biblical texts.
[00:18:05] It's just, it lines up perfectly.
[00:18:07] That is just a, uh, a clear sign that the same spirit is talking to all of humanity in one way or another.
[00:18:16] This information is being downloaded across the planet.
[00:18:20] You know, this is before the Jews or, you know, the gospel even reached these other, uh, nations like Asia, you know?
[00:18:28] Yeah.
[00:18:29] Far, far away places.
[00:18:31] Yeah.
[00:18:32] Yeah.
[00:18:32] That's, uh, interesting you say that.
[00:18:34] Or, or like the religions are either lined up perfectly or they steal from it and add to it.
[00:18:41] Oh, of course.
[00:18:42] Yeah.
[00:18:42] They kind of like put their own spin on it.
[00:18:44] And, and honestly, when I say that, I mean, take God out of it completely and say, this is our wisdom.
[00:18:53] Yeah.
[00:18:54] And yeah, that's exactly what it is.
[00:18:58] Yeah.
[00:19:00] Um, good.
[00:19:02] So I, I, I, I, I think of Proverbs first by, you know, one of the first passages it says is, uh, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
[00:19:13] So we know that Proverbs is, is, you know, kind of a book of knowledge, but I think it, I think it kind of puts this basis, this foundation of, uh, the fear of the Lord is knowledge.
[00:19:30] Yeah.
[00:19:31] Um, yeah.
[00:19:32] Yeah.
[00:19:32] A wise man fears the Lord, but a fool doesn't fear the Lord.
[00:19:36] So I find that that that's probably my favorite one.
[00:19:40] Um, yeah.
[00:19:44] That's, that's, that's, that's the, that's the beginning of knowledge.
[00:19:46] Basically saying, uh, if you think you're going to have knowledge and not be a fool and be wise, but you don't seek God, you, you, you have no chance.
[00:20:01] It's just worldly, the world's perspective and world knowledge and wisdom is foolishness to right to the righteous is foolishness to God.
[00:20:13] Um, and he puts that to shame every single time a believer or someone who's quotes his word, it puts the world's wisdom to shame because you're right.
[00:20:25] It is adulterated.
[00:20:27] The devil has taken it and either added something or taken it away.
[00:20:31] Like I said, not even having God in the picture, like, where'd you get this information from?
[00:20:37] You didn't just, you know, pull it out of the crystal ball or something, you know, it didn't happen like that.
[00:20:42] So I know, I think maybe, maybe, uh, many people don't, um, you know, realize that everybody thinks that we have good more, like America has good morals or people even just what they think is good morals.
[00:20:55] It all stems from, uh, it all stems from the word of God at some point.
[00:21:03] Um, yeah, it really is.
[00:21:05] Yeah.
[00:21:06] Um, yeah, I love that the, that we, we can, we can know, I, I love that it's a revelation that God shares, you know, if we fear him, which means, you know, reverence doesn't mean being, you know, afraid of him, but it means reverence and, and, uh, towards him.
[00:21:25] Um, and obedience and opening our heart to what he's saying.
[00:21:30] And, you know, it's God is ultimate wisdom.
[00:21:33] So, uh, you know, uh, that's pretty much where it starts at everybody's walk with, with, with God, uh, is learning how to, is learning what the fear of the Lord means.
[00:21:47] Exactly.
[00:21:49] Um, yeah.
[00:21:50] Yeah.
[00:21:50] Because we, we believe in God, but if we don't fear him, um, that's an issue.
[00:21:55] Uh, if we don't have reverence towards him, which is most of American Christianity, I believe in my opinion is, uh, there's not reverence there.
[00:22:03] Uh, so.
[00:22:06] And that's why.
[00:22:07] We're missing knowledge there.
[00:22:08] Yeah.
[00:22:08] And, and, and now that you say that, um, that's why I like this verse here that I put on my notes here.
[00:22:18] Uh, it's a Proverbs chapter 10, 27.
[00:22:21] Um, the fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.
[00:22:28] Um, yeah, uh, it's telling you the contrast is telling you if you choose it, if you choose to seek, uh, wisdom, this is, this is your outcome.
[00:22:40] If you choose not to, you know, the years of the wicked are cut short.
[00:22:45] I mean, it's like your life is not going to be as if, as eventful as it was supposed to be.
[00:22:52] Um, that's, yeah, that's interesting.
[00:22:56] I mean, God is seriously giving us a blueprint right now of you want to live, live a long life.
[00:23:03] Um, you know, how about we pursue righteousness and we.
[00:23:08] Of course.
[00:23:09] Pursue living a life with fellowship with our creator and, uh, aligning our lives with what he wants for us.
[00:23:18] Cause he's in ultimate control.
[00:23:19] Right.
[00:23:20] So I find that interesting that he's given us this blueprint of you want to have a lengthy life.
[00:23:29] Um, yeah.
[00:23:34] Follow, follow that way.
[00:23:38] Of course.
[00:23:39] And that wasn't even the verse I was supposed to say, uh, but, but this is the Holy spirit anyways.
[00:23:46] It's just, but it was actually, uh, Proverbs chapter three verses five through six.
[00:23:52] Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
[00:23:55] Yeah.
[00:23:56] And, and lean not on your own understanding and all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight.
[00:24:04] It's not enough.
[00:24:05] You know, of course, some translations say in all your ways, acknowledge him.
[00:24:09] Yeah.
[00:24:10] But that seems kind of like half hearted to me.
[00:24:14] It's like acknowledging that he exists, acknowledging that he is involved, but this says submit to him.
[00:24:21] And I'm like, yeah, that makes a little more sense right there.
[00:24:26] That's more effective, you know, cause you can acknowledge that God is there, but if you don't submit to him, uh, you know, you're not even going to be in the right mindset to, um, to trust in him.
[00:24:38] You know, you wouldn't, you wouldn't submit to something that you don't trust.
[00:24:43] You know, you don't go out and, uh, you know, spend a bunch of money on something that you don't have faith in.
[00:24:50] It's going to, uh, be the outcome that you're, you're looking for.
[00:24:54] You know, if you know, it's going to fail, you wouldn't trust in it.
[00:24:57] But, um, it's this submission that even said, even it, it, it postures our heart to even, uh, trust in him and, and, uh, not laying on our own understanding.
[00:25:08] So I, yeah, I do.
[00:25:11] I like that version.
[00:25:12] I like saying I like submit better than acknowledge.
[00:25:15] Cause I think, yeah, I think it makes, uh, it's interesting that the, uh, Jewish study Bible says acknowledge, but, um, yeah, no, I wonder.
[00:25:27] What the Hebrew word says in that place.
[00:25:31] Cause it might be more of a like submission type word.
[00:25:35] Well, to them, I look at it in context like this because to us in our culture today, acknowledge sounds like something less intimate and less, uh, sacrificial on our part.
[00:25:51] Yeah.
[00:25:52] But to the Jewish people, acknowledge meant what they've been doing their entire lives, which is living every single day, following the law, the Torah, you know, uh, carrying out that law in courts.
[00:26:07] They had just, and had just courts with just judges that, uh, used the word in the law to, to judge, uh, people's actions.
[00:26:18] And, uh, yeah, they were straight, you know, they, they, they, so they, they've been doing this their whole lives.
[00:26:26] And so for them, you know, it's probably, I don't know what the definition of like knowledge is in that language, but, um, to, in our, of course, in our language, in our perspective, we've wired everything down so much.
[00:26:40] Yeah.
[00:26:40] It kind of stings when I, when I see that, you know, I was like, I thought they said the same thing.
[00:26:45] I was like, yeah.
[00:26:48] Yeah.
[00:26:48] It's like everybody in America acknowledges God.
[00:26:52] Most people is like, oh yeah, I believe, you know, God's there.
[00:26:55] Um, so it's definitely, I, I get your point, you know, it's, it's, I'm sure in Judaism, there's a lot more reverence towards Yahweh, um, in how they do things.
[00:27:11] So, um, but I do, but for, for this sake, I do like the, I do like in all your ways, submit, submit to him and he will, um, he will make your path straight or he'll level your paths.
[00:27:27] I think I've heard it say, um, and this is true.
[00:27:31] I mean, this is so true.
[00:27:32] I feel like, um, you know, I'm consistently in that path of just learning how to be obedient to him.
[00:27:40] And, you know, my, my whole outlook on life, my dreams, everything has changed into God.
[00:27:48] What do you want me to do?
[00:27:51] And I feel, uh, I feel like my life has been straightened because of that, because I've just been, you know, I have a vision and I have a path that I'm going down towards, uh, just because I've made this decision to go, God, where I don't, I don't want to do anything for myself or I don't, all my dreams that I had, let's throw them out the door.
[00:28:13] Like, cause whatever you have for me is going to be ultimately more joyful, more, uh, exciting.
[00:28:19] I, I believe, um, of course.
[00:28:22] So, uh, yeah.
[00:28:24] Um, it's funny that you say vision dude, because I've got something here that I wrote down that, uh, it's just a thought that vision without vision, we will waste away.
[00:28:38] And a hope also cannot be had.
[00:28:41] If we have no vision, we will just waste away.
[00:28:45] And in Proverbs 10, 28, it says the prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing because they have no hope.
[00:28:57] Their hopes are in futile, uh, chafing the wind, things that, you know, wither away like the grass, um, and the leaves that blow away in the wind.
[00:29:08] And, uh, the prospect meaning vision, basically, you know, the prospect or our, our, our striving towards a goal or something or a purpose, um, of the righteous is joy.
[00:29:21] And of course that purpose is knowing God.
[00:29:24] Yeah.
[00:29:24] Um, and everything always comes back to that, you know, um, when it says, yeah, you know, uh, the beginning of knowledge, you know?
[00:29:33] So basically God's speaking through this man who's already figured it out, being as wise as he was in saying that worldly wisdom and worldly knowledge is just that it has no power behind it.
[00:29:52] Um, and that's the, that's the beautiful part about, uh, knowing God and, and, and actually listening to what he says and obeying and trusting that what he says is good because it ain't working in the world.
[00:30:08] It just, they can borrow from it.
[00:30:10] They can try to, you know, frou-frou it up, but there's always a little bit of wiggle room there for you to say, well, yeah, but they, you know, an eye for an eye, right?
[00:30:20] You know, they, they, they wronged me.
[00:30:22] So now I'm going to, uh, you know, hold a grudge against them.
[00:30:26] But then you're just destroying your own soul in relationship with the father because you have resentment and you live in unforgiveness, you know, but the world that's totally normal to them, you know, but in Proverbs it's saying, you know, uh, to overlook an offense is a man's honor, you know, or to forgive someone is, uh, something to be proud of.
[00:30:50] You know, uh, something this you should be proud of.
[00:30:56] But yeah, I think of two, um, you know, uh, you know, where it says, uh, he will make your paths straight.
[00:31:08] I think of, you know, fearing the Lord puts us, brings us to the narrow pathway, right?
[00:31:15] Like, um, you know, if we, if we really put this, this verse into action, Proverbs three, five, um, God's going to lead you down that narrow pathway.
[00:31:25] And it's, and that Jesus talks about, um, so I'm sure there's a connection there.
[00:31:33] Oh, I've already got it, man.
[00:31:35] Just the spirit just downloaded it to me.
[00:31:38] What you're saying, man is yeah, he'll make your path straight.
[00:31:43] And I do attribute that to the narrow path, right?
[00:31:47] Yeah.
[00:31:48] If you, if you find it and the wide path where many people choose to go, I envisioned it being a really crooked.
[00:31:57] Yeah.
[00:31:57] Windy, turns around and circles several times, then sends you back the other direction.
[00:32:04] And I see, I see that being like a not straight path, you know?
[00:32:09] So I think that's really, and then also I was thinking about make your path straight.
[00:32:15] Sorry.
[00:32:16] I'm burping my head, so it's water.
[00:32:18] Um, it's, it's going to be straight, but that doesn't mean it's not going to be bumpy and full of rocks and all kinds of thorns and stuff.
[00:32:26] Like that, just, you're going to have to trek through some pretty bad terrain.
[00:32:30] Straight doesn't mean perfect.
[00:32:32] Doesn't mean no suffering or any hardship.
[00:32:35] In fact, you probably more experience more hardship on the narrow path than, uh, well, ultimately the wide path leads to destruction.
[00:32:45] But I think the majority of that journey is just spent serving self, you know, pleasure, uh, above all else.
[00:32:56] And, and they enjoyed the ride, but the end is destruction, you know?
[00:33:01] And our ride is going to be a little bit more of a, uh, trek and something to be, uh, overcome, but it's going to be straight.
[00:33:11] Like we're in the right direction.
[00:33:13] That's our goal.
[00:33:14] It's like, okay, we're pointed in the right.
[00:33:17] It's like our compass is, is locked in.
[00:33:20] We don't, we can't even change it as long as we, uh, listen to God.
[00:33:24] Yeah.
[00:33:27] Interesting.
[00:33:28] And it makes you think that, you know, as the believer's life, if, uh, if you're falling down like that broad path, you're probably not already, you're probably not trusting in the Lord to begin with.
[00:33:44] You know, you're, you're leaning on your own understanding.
[00:33:46] Yeah.
[00:33:47] You might, you know, you're saying you're, you're Christian, but are we, are we, um, do we have a complete surrender, um, to the, to Adonai, the Lord?
[00:34:02] You know, are, are, are we surrendering our worries and our doubts and our anxieties to him?
[00:34:08] Um, you know, I think that's just the beginning of, of finding, of straightening our path is, is complete.
[00:34:16] And I feel like we, you know, growing up in America, you hear this all the time.
[00:34:20] Um, but are we putting that into practice?
[00:34:23] You know, I feel like I, a lot of people, most Christians know Proverbs three, five, um, you know, don't lean on your own understanding, but how many of us are struggling with, with, um, with a vision.
[00:34:39] Or with, um, um, you know, doing everything in our own strength and, uh, and, uh, you know, following what, what maybe our friends are saying we should do.
[00:34:50] Or, uh, you know, doing this, going the safe route, taking the safe job, you know, not, you know, God might be calling you to do something very risky and, uh, you know, we're not, we're not doing that.
[00:35:03] So, uh, so we could be living, you know, miserably, um, because we're not trusting in him.
[00:35:11] Uh, yeah.
[00:35:13] And, uh, and another thing is, is I feel like many people, they won't put their faith in, in God until they understand everything.
[00:35:23] And so, God, God has laid it out for us that we need to trust and have faith first before we understand.
[00:35:31] Well, a, we're not going to understand everything, but I think everything's backwards.
[00:35:36] Um, you know, even in just American Christianity, you know, we got, uh, and I struggled, you know, I tried to, um, I've done this with myself.
[00:35:44] I've, I've, uh, worked with many, uh, you know, there's a ton of young adults that are, um, are desiring to follow God, but they have to know the answers and they have to understand everything first before they put that trust and faith in God.
[00:35:58] And, and so it's very interesting to me that wisdom is trusting and fearing the Lord before you understand everything.
[00:36:11] Yeah. And that's crazy too, because I think there's such a distinct, uh, difference in saying that I have, I have to know for sure all these, I have to have all my questions answered before I even give God, uh, a time of day or even try to know him.
[00:36:30] But in the world system, you're not doing that. You're getting ahead as much as you can get in years.
[00:36:37] So you trust the world a lot more, you, like you put a lot more faith in other people, which are wicked and, and, uh, valuable.
[00:36:46] Uh, and yet you won't, you won't look at this God who's never broken a promise and never, uh, you know, not fulfilled what came out of his mouth.
[00:36:57] And, uh, so it's kind of like, they're telling on themselves a little bit there.
[00:37:01] I think they're just like, you know, Oh, I need to have all my questions.
[00:37:06] Oh, did you need all your questions answered when you just said, Hey, this feels good.
[00:37:10] No, you didn't. You just went and did it, you know?
[00:37:13] So it just, it just, it's kind of like, it's, it's, it's insane.
[00:37:18] Insanity actually for that to be the case, you know, like you, uh, you, you're judging this by this standard.
[00:37:25] But then when you look at what your choices have been in life, that didn't matter with those things.
[00:37:31] You didn't have to sit there and write it out and say, okay, what's better here, you know?
[00:37:37] So like they're already just making some, some excuse up that already is not valid because they don't live the rest of their life like that.
[00:37:46] So that's what you could tell somebody sometime when they make that excuse, um, is, Hey, you know, if you treated it with the same way you treat the rest of the world and everything, you would have already at least, you know, tried it, you know, because you've done everything else.
[00:38:08] And if it ain't working, cause it ain't, maybe you need, maybe you need to fix that.
[00:38:13] You know, let's just be honest.
[00:38:15] It's what Solomon is kind of saying in these Proverbs is like, you know, these, these are tried and true truths.
[00:38:24] Truth is not, uh, subjective, you know, it's subjective.
[00:38:32] You know, just, there's no, there is an absolute truth.
[00:38:34] There is a right and a wrong and, uh, we've blurred the line so much, you know, I love the, um, books, uh, mere Christianity from CS Lewis, where he said, uh, generally, you know, people that say, I don't believe in good and evil or right and wrong.
[00:38:53] Um, but you know, uh, so they operate their lives like that and they just say, well, uh, it's your fault that you were offended.
[00:39:03] It's your fault that you were hurt.
[00:39:05] I didn't even do, you know, I'm not to blame for anything, but then if you do the same exact thing they did to you, like, Hey, you, you know, you stole my seat in the bus and they said, Oh, well get over it.
[00:39:16] And then, but the next time you see me do the same thing to you in a different way or something, they'll be the first one to cry foul faster than you can say Jack Robinson.
[00:39:27] They'll be like, Hey, that wasn't fair.
[00:39:29] You know?
[00:39:30] Um, so they're hypocrites.
[00:39:33] Um, if you were to treat them that way, they would certainly say that's wrong.
[00:39:37] And I'd be like, well, where are you getting that standard from?
[00:39:40] Cause you, you know, you, now you're borrowing from God's standard when it suits you, but when it also suits you to ignore it, you do that.
[00:39:49] And, uh, you know, he also made a good point saying that generally this universal law of, uh, of morality, he says is so ingrained in our, uh, in our soul, in our spirits from the time we were born.
[00:40:09] Um, that usually when the conflict arises, people don't deny the good, any, that they did anything wrong.
[00:40:21] They in general, uh, more, more than likely make an excuse of why, Hey, this, this is why I did it, you know, give me a break, you know?
[00:40:30] And so they're not, they know their conscience is telling them, yeah, that is wrong.
[00:40:35] But they say, well, actually it's because of this, you know, I did it because something came up and I just, you know, but no, you just, you're skirting the issue that, you know, you did something wrong to somebody.
[00:40:47] Well, it was quite different when, you know, uh, when I took your food, you know, without asking from your lunchbox, that was quite a different situation.
[00:40:56] But now that you, you know, uh, did this to me now that now I feel slighted, you know, and, uh, just, just the narcissism and, uh, so focus on self that that speaks to where it's like, yeah, it is all about yourself, you know, like, uh, you know, rules for thee, but not for me kind of thing.
[00:41:18] So, but they don't, they don't ignore the law of universal morality there in general, they try to make some excuse of why, you know, they didn't follow it.
[00:41:30] And, you know, so that they, you should just give them a break and forget it and forgive them.
[00:41:35] So most people are, you know, and so, and, but then there's those two people, the people who deny it, but they're, they're hypocrites.
[00:41:42] And then the people who don't deny it, but they make an excuse somehow saying this is a different, it's quite a different, uh, situation, you know, it's, uh, you know, it's actually, uh, justified that I did that because it is, you know, or I was hurt by this person in the past.
[00:42:00] So now I can do that to other people and feel less guilty about it, but you're just lying to yourself and lying to everybody around you.
[00:42:09] Um, so, uh, what are there, uh, other, are there other proverbs versus that you wanted to, uh, share on?
[00:42:21] I had, I had a couple more, um, and, and, and I just, I just trusted this is where the Holy Spirit was leading me.
[00:42:30] Sure.
[00:42:31] When I looked up just a few things that, uh, I thought were interesting just to really get, put a nice bow on this.
[00:42:40] But, uh, you know, I think the theme of the book of proverbs, there's like maybe five or six themes.
[00:42:48] I think that I've come to find, um, you know, one, one through six, uh, one, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
[00:42:58] Yeah.
[00:43:00] Okay.
[00:43:01] To righteous living, the path to happiness and peace.
[00:43:06] The only, the only way to, the only path to that is righteous living.
[00:43:11] Uh, and the power.
[00:43:13] Which verse is that?
[00:43:15] No, I'm just saying these are, these are the general themes.
[00:43:19] Oh, I gotcha.
[00:43:20] Okay.
[00:43:22] Sorry.
[00:43:22] I'm drinking too much bubbles.
[00:43:25] Gotcha.
[00:43:26] Rent the mic.
[00:43:27] But yeah.
[00:43:28] So to righteous living is the path to happiness and peace.
[00:43:32] Yeah.
[00:43:33] Basically, I feel like proverbs is, is really clear on there's no other way.
[00:43:39] Yeah.
[00:43:40] Um, but to try to live a righteous life and submit to God.
[00:43:44] Uh, number three, the power of words, they can either heal or harm people or things.
[00:43:52] Yeah.
[00:43:53] And that's a universal truth, non-negotiable truth, um, that you can't argue with.
[00:43:59] So the power of words, how to use them, uh, wealth and work and the balance that must be
[00:44:07] sought between those two things.
[00:44:09] Um, it is good to work.
[00:44:12] And God says, if you don't work, you should not eat.
[00:44:15] But then if you're only working to obtain wealth, it's not going about the wrong way,
[00:44:22] you know, and it's not going to be fruitful.
[00:44:26] Um, so the balance between those two things, number five, family and relationships.
[00:44:31] And those things being the bedrock of society.
[00:44:35] And then one that wasn't even there, but I just added it.
[00:44:39] I was like health question mark, because health, you know, it's, it's something talked about,
[00:44:47] you know, but it's always in relation to our relationship with the father and how our
[00:44:51] health is directly, uh, affected by that relationship, you know?
[00:44:59] And I, but I don't think health, I mean, Jesus was really focused on that.
[00:45:03] He healed so many people, but it was spiritual.
[00:45:06] It was a spiritual healing.
[00:45:07] He really wanted them to, to obtain more than the physical healing.
[00:45:12] So, um, and I look at all the sickness we experienced in the world, believers and non-believers
[00:45:17] alike, and we're just dying, you know, uh, and suffering the whole time until that happens.
[00:45:24] And I think the Bible kind of like, in a sense, doesn't really focus on health being a priority
[00:45:33] compared to, uh, because it's, it's such a rampant problem that we've experienced since the beginning of the fall of, uh, in the garden of Eden.
[00:45:43] Yeah.
[00:45:44] Uh, that we just started to die from that day forward and it's, it's just spiraling downward.
[00:45:48] Um, since then it's been spiraling down and still is and getting worse that, you know, I think they don't focus a lot on health being something.
[00:46:00] Um, cause a lot of people, that's the only thing they care about is health, their, their own body, their own, uh, pleasure.
[00:46:10] Um, which is like no suffering.
[00:46:12] I'm not, I'm not supposed to, there's any pain, um, no pain in my life.
[00:46:17] That's their goal, which is impossible.
[00:46:18] You're lying to yourself.
[00:46:20] Um, you're never not going to have problems.
[00:46:25] Uh, and, uh, I just think health, you know, can be used as an idol also.
[00:46:31] And that was in all details.
[00:46:33] He'll just use that and say, well, God wants you to be healthy.
[00:46:36] And it's like, well, why did this person die from cancer?
[00:46:39] Why did this child die from cancer?
[00:46:43] You know, you, you explain that to me and say that, you know, this guy who you claim to know something about, maybe you don't know him that well to say, hey, that's obviously something that's being allowed to plague us.
[00:47:01] You know, it's being allowed to, it's being allowed to come to pass.
[00:47:04] You know, the sin is being allowed to run its course.
[00:47:10] Yeah.
[00:47:10] Yeah.
[00:47:11] And I think of, you know, people who idolize health and, you know, fitness, that's great.
[00:47:15] I think that's, I think, especially for a Christian man, I think we need to be, um, pursuing, you know, fitness and being healthy and things like that.
[00:47:25] But, uh, we do have to remember that this body is withering away each day, but our spirit, um, is going to be eternal.
[00:47:36] So, um, just be careful with, uh, you know, making, you know, trying to keep your body so healthy and just idolizing that.
[00:47:45] And, you know, forgetting, forgetting that, that our bodies are going to wither away.
[00:47:49] Everything in this world is going to, is withering away too.
[00:47:53] So, um, I wouldn't put your faith in, in our, our flesh.
[00:47:57] Yeah.
[00:47:58] And, and, and, and, and our physical appearances.
[00:48:02] Yeah.
[00:48:02] Getting, getting, uh, surgeries for plastic surgery, uh, all the, all the, uh, the makeup industry.
[00:48:11] Yeah.
[00:48:11] You know, all that kind of stuff goes up right in with that where it's like, Hey, you're neglecting, you know, you're a whitewashed tomb.
[00:48:19] You know, you're neglect, you're dead on the inside.
[00:48:21] There's only dead man's bones inside there and rotting corpses.
[00:48:25] And your relationship with the father is nowhere to be found.
[00:48:28] It's like, well, you, you just like, you have nothing in your court when you don't have this initial submission to the God, you know, like, uh, trusting the Lord.
[00:48:41] Um, but you know, that's the crazy part, man, is we're so deceived now.
[00:48:45] We don't trust anybody in our, in our world today, because that's the example we have to go off of.
[00:48:53] Yeah.
[00:48:54] Is imperfect man.
[00:48:55] And so we don't trust them.
[00:48:58] So then we, we just take that and we blanket everything with that and say, well, I don't know if I can trust, uh, God to be truthful, even though it's documented that he has been.
[00:49:09] And never broken a promise.
[00:49:11] But then we don't trust ourselves either, man.
[00:49:14] Like if we're all honest with ourselves, our conscience is, is beating us up on a daily basis.
[00:49:21] And we don't even know if we can trust the voices in our head and whether or not that's God or, you know, or that, or, or some other influence.
[00:49:29] So yeah, trust is like, yeah, he's, he's having a field day with it and making us think about it way too much.
[00:49:36] I don't think it's that complicated.
[00:49:38] And that's why Proverbs is so nice is because it's really simple.
[00:49:42] It's black and white and we try to make everything so complicated, but there really is just like a, a dichotomy of, you know, if you, if you, uh, live good, then good things will come to you.
[00:49:58] Or if you live bad, then the wicked will, uh, get their punishment for that.
[00:50:04] But, uh, I think, and then just one last little thing I'll, I'll say too, man, unless you wanted to, uh, comment on any of it.
[00:50:11] Yeah, go ahead.
[00:50:13] Okay.
[00:50:14] Um, yeah, I was, I mean, just, I also thinking of, uh, I think Proverbs is, is really big on discipline and remembering that discipline leads to spiritual maturity.
[00:50:28] Um, we forget that, um, you know, in the Bible, we hear, we hear God talk about us being perfect, but in the sense of being spiritually mature and that takes discipline and, and, you know, discipline breeds wisdom and maturity.
[00:50:49] And how do we be disciplined?
[00:50:52] Well, we become a disciple, which is, you know, essentially the root word of discipline.
[00:50:59] We become a disciple of Jesus and we, we learn his wisdom and we learn righteousness and we learn, uh, you know, his teachings and we have to have discipline.
[00:51:14] So, uh, yeah, I just wanted to, wanted to talk on that.
[00:51:18] Cause I think Proverbs is very, very much, uh, big on having discipline too.
[00:51:24] Oh yeah.
[00:51:25] Oh yeah.
[00:51:26] Yeah.
[00:51:29] Yeah.
[00:51:30] There's no, you're not going to get too far in any, in anything, any aspect in life.
[00:51:35] If discipline is not something you, you're at least striving and trying to do.
[00:51:40] I think God really does look down on us and say, look, he's trying and he sees you and he knows that you're trying, you know?
[00:51:50] Uh, it's not that he's like, well, you're not trying hard enough.
[00:51:55] No, I think he's really like, look, you know, he's really, really trying to get close to me, you know?
[00:52:04] And they acknowledge that and say, wow, there's not many people like that, that make it that much of a priority.
[00:52:12] And it's just annoying.
[00:52:14] It's just blessed.
[00:52:14] I think you guys like, okay, I'm going to, I'm going to start showing up, you know, more.
[00:52:21] I'm going to, I'm going to, you're going to be amazed by, you know, you just be just being obedient to me, how it's going to, uh, drastically change.
[00:52:33] Any, anything that you thought was a struggle in your life, it's going to be smoothed out.
[00:52:39] Um, but like, I guess the next thing I wanted to say, uh, is, uh, that this, just this one verse here, I thought was really good, man.
[00:52:51] Um, yeah.
[00:52:52] Proverbs 11, 27, whoever sees good finds favor, but evil comes to the one who searches for it.
[00:53:01] Basically like you reap what you sow.
[00:53:02] And that's like the idea of karma, which I think is a real concept, but it's God's, it's God's lot, like a lot of the universe.
[00:53:13] It's been like that since he created it, like he set it up like that.
[00:53:17] So you can't escape, uh, you know, reaping what you, you reap what you sow.
[00:53:21] And, uh, it's just, it's just a lot that is proven true.
[00:53:26] Um, but, uh, the last thing I was going to share, because I think this is a good concept and I'm, I'm talking about myself here and trying to help myself.
[00:53:41] But, um, the word diligence, and I think it says this in Proverbs in this verse I'm going to read soon, but, um, you know, diligence, it's a skill that can be learned.
[00:53:55] Uh, it's application and results are universally positive and effective without any question.
[00:54:03] You just, if there's diligence, there's going to be good outcomes from it.
[00:54:08] And so, you know, it's not, it doesn't discriminate, you know, for the people who, you know, but without diligence, our life will only, will only be defined with desires.
[00:54:20] Yeah.
[00:54:21] And no, no fulfillment without the power to produce the results of those desires.
[00:54:26] And, uh, the verse that I was going to say is, uh, Proverbs 13, four, uh, a slugger's appetite is never filled.
[00:54:36] But the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
[00:54:41] And it's just saying, if you're even, if you're even just diligent, that that's, he's saying, yes, you are correct in, in, in pursuing.
[00:54:51] And, uh, you know, the desire aspect of it, God gives us desires.
[00:54:58] He's created us with these desires and gave it to us on purpose.
[00:55:02] Um, you know, dire desires in themselves are positive.
[00:55:10] You know, all, all desires that have, you know, are good ones are, you know, positive, but there's positive and negative desires.
[00:55:20] And negative desires are simply frustrations of positive desires not being fulfilled.
[00:55:28] Like say, like say, you know, like you want to be in a relationship or something, but, uh, which is, which is good.
[00:55:37] And that's what God wants for you.
[00:55:39] Or he wants you to have friendship and companionship.
[00:55:41] But if you go about it in the wrong way, you're doomed from the start.
[00:55:47] You're not trusting in God.
[00:55:48] You're not asking him to lead you before you take actions on certain things.
[00:55:52] And then it becomes, uh, a negative desire.
[00:55:56] You know, this positive desire that you have to, uh, you know, I guess, you know, help people or do something.
[00:56:06] And then all of a sudden it doesn't work out for you or, you know, like God closes that door for you.
[00:56:13] Now, all of a sudden you, you resent the desire.
[00:56:16] You give up on the desire and, you know, like I said, then you, then you just have no diligence or motivation to do it.
[00:56:26] And so I think that distinction needs to be made where, uh, if you have negative desires, like, uh, you know, going, going and chewing somebody out or something because you feel like they wronged you or something, you know, but it comes from a positive desire of wanting peace with that person.
[00:56:46] Or, or, or you love that person so much.
[00:56:50] Now, now you're like, I, you, you want, you want it to be different.
[00:56:54] You want it to be like, everything was like, it never happened, you know?
[00:56:58] So now you have a negative desire to hold resentment or something, you know, stuff like that.
[00:57:03] So, um, it's, this is, I guess my point is, this is a simple thing that I've never really thought about, you know, because it just makes it so complicated.
[00:57:14] Like all this stuff and you get doubled up and you never get anywhere.
[00:57:19] Just like, yeah, that's what I wanted you to do is pick it apart like, like a bird.
[00:57:24] And, uh, you know, I just think it's a little more, it's a lot more simple than that.
[00:57:31] Um, and just, and then last thing with, with that, I'll tack it on.
[00:57:36] When I think about the desires in general, if we have an ultimate desire or an only desire, so to speak, even.
[00:57:46] To serve God and obey him and submit to him.
[00:57:51] Then we're good.
[00:57:52] Then we're good from the, from the go.
[00:57:54] You know, every positive desire we have in life.
[00:57:58] If we go about it, if we go about trying to obtain those things, like we want to play music, we want to do this.
[00:58:04] Yeah.
[00:58:05] Do it in the right way.
[00:58:07] And with God leading us the whole way and we're making the decisions he wants us, he wants us to make.
[00:58:14] And then suppressing our own will the entire time and, and, uh, you know, submitting ourselves and sacrificing to his will.
[00:58:24] Then every other desire that we've been given in our hearts from the time we were born to, uh, fulfill are going to go a lot smoother.
[00:58:34] You know, like you got the ultimate desire should be to love God with all your heart and soul.
[00:58:41] And then to love others like you love yourself.
[00:58:44] That's what Jesus said the greatest commandment was.
[00:58:47] Um, so, but those can turn into negative, uh, desires also.
[00:58:53] Also, you know, when, when they don't go about the right way, I guess, you know, like, like if we did this band and we were like, well, we just got to get big or something.
[00:59:00] And that's all we've cared about.
[00:59:02] That's, that's a negative desire that it's a positive desire to turn into a negative one.
[00:59:09] Yeah.
[00:59:09] Out of frustration.
[00:59:10] And it's out of impatience.
[00:59:13] It's out of not trusting God and impatience.
[00:59:16] Yeah.
[00:59:17] Gratification, all that stuff.
[00:59:19] Yeah.
[00:59:20] Uh, you know what?
[00:59:23] There's so much behind like this, you know, there's so many people on social media are all about, you know, just hard work and grind and you'll, you'll achieve your goals.
[00:59:31] And, you know, and I think, you know, it says Proverbs 12, 24 here says diligent hands will rule the laziness ends in forced labor.
[00:59:41] Um, so I, I love that.
[00:59:43] Yeah.
[00:59:43] I love that you, you bring up diligence.
[00:59:45] Um, cause you know, God is, God is teaching us that if we're, if we're committed, if we're continuing.
[00:59:53] To be faithful.
[00:59:55] Um, we will achieve our goals.
[00:59:57] And, and it's like, how much more, how much more if we're diligence and we're being obedient to God, how much more is his grace going to pour out on us and help?
[01:00:06] Like, I just think about with this band, you know, we've been diligent with this band and continuing and staying faithful to it.
[01:00:12] And it's been a lot of ups and downs, but there's so many things that just, we're just me and you, we talk about it all the time.
[01:00:19] We're just like, how did this happen?
[01:00:20] And this person came into our life.
[01:00:22] This person advanced it.
[01:00:24] Like, you know, so we, you know, yes, grind, you know, you know, you know, you know, work hard, you know?
[01:00:31] Um, but.
[01:00:33] Um, you can't ignore that.
[01:00:36] Yeah.
[01:00:36] You got it.
[01:00:37] You know, uh, you remember, you know, follow the Lord.
[01:00:39] What does he want you to do?
[01:00:41] You know, find out what God is wanting you to do is what he's calling you to do.
[01:00:44] Um, you know, and, and, and work towards it with diligence and he will give you grace in ways that you're just like, wow, I can't even believe that that happened.
[01:00:54] Um, and so I see a lot of.
[01:00:57] Yeah.
[01:00:57] So a lot of people are, you know, achieving goals, but man, there, there, we have access to the creator of everything who, who, um, who's a good father.
[01:01:08] He wants to give his children good things and he wants to give us his grace and his knowledge and his, his, uh, and I, I do believe God will place desires in our hearts that are from him.
[01:01:20] You know, it happened, you know, I, I believe, you know, a desire to be in this band.
[01:01:26] I, I believe it came from, um, heavenly places.
[01:01:30] So, um, of course, another, that's another amazing thing is, is if we're, we're, um, being diligent to the father, he will place.
[01:01:38] He will place his desires in, it'll become our desires.
[01:01:42] And that's the adventure that is so exciting to me.
[01:01:46] Um, so.
[01:01:47] Totally.
[01:01:48] Yeah.
[01:01:49] Yeah.
[01:01:49] I mean, yeah, nobody, nobody in their flesh, if we're honest with ourselves and our conscious, nobody, your flesh does not want to submit to God.
[01:02:01] Right.
[01:02:02] So if you've been given that desire, it was definitely a supernatural event for you to receive that blessing to have a desire for that, because it talks about the slugger not even having desires.
[01:02:16] Like, yes, you know, you just, you just give up because it's like, well, you know, I don't desire anything, but peace, pleasure and no pain in my life.
[01:02:26] I shouldn't suffer anything.
[01:02:28] That's like, if I can get those, you know, I don't have to desire anything else.
[01:02:32] You know, not even a relationship with the creator, not a relationship with my family, no friends.
[01:02:38] I take care of myself or you, or it's just those people that are like, I just take care of me and my family.
[01:02:43] And you're like, wow, okay.
[01:02:44] You do the complete opposite of what God tells us to do.
[01:02:48] Well, I just heard, I know a lot of people have problems with John MacArthur, that he's a pastor in California, I think.
[01:02:57] But a lot of people have problems with him, but he did say something.
[01:03:02] He said the gospel, the gospel gives the sinner what it doesn't want.
[01:03:07] So the thing that's interesting about, you know, the prosperity gospel is we're preaching things that our natural flesh already wants.
[01:03:15] Our flesh wants wealth and good feelings and attention and things like that.
[01:03:23] And so we're, so as an American church, we're preaching things that our flesh naturally already wants.
[01:03:29] And their positive desires initially.
[01:03:34] Yeah.
[01:03:35] Yeah.
[01:03:36] Yeah.
[01:03:36] So it's, it's, so it's actually what the gospel is teaching us is to deny ourselves and to pick up our cross and follow him.
[01:03:44] You know, we're, you know, our flesh doesn't want to be denied.
[01:03:48] So why are we preaching that God's going to give us what our flesh already wants?
[01:03:53] So it's.
[01:03:54] Oh yeah.
[01:03:54] Yeah.
[01:03:55] Yeah.
[01:03:55] So we.
[01:03:57] He gave us those desires, you know?
[01:04:00] Mm hmm.
[01:04:01] Yeah.
[01:04:01] Yeah.
[01:04:01] So I think that's a, that's a good, good way to look at it is, is, you know, we, our flesh already wants those things.
[01:04:11] So why are we, why are we preaching that God's going to give us wealth and prosperity when we already want those things?
[01:04:18] The sinner already wants those things.
[01:04:19] Our, our flesh already wants that.
[01:04:22] Yeah.
[01:04:23] Yeah.
[01:04:24] That's why it's like, it's the, it's the way that those desires are sought to be obtained.
[01:04:31] That's the problem.
[01:04:33] Yeah.
[01:04:33] You know, and I think we, you know, somebody said, you know, we consistently look for happiness in the same place.
[01:04:40] We consistently lose it all the time.
[01:04:46] And, you know, just, just repeating the, like, well, maybe this time, but we're not willing to try his way and look at the wisdom behind.
[01:05:01] Just asking God first, what should I do here?
[01:05:06] You know, we, we, we want love, you know, from other people and people take it to an extreme when they don't get the love that they think they deserve.
[01:05:18] They go about it the wrong way.
[01:05:19] They go to prostitution, you know, strip clubs, you know, meaningless sex and just hooking up with people and stuff like that and giving yourself away.
[01:05:33] And those are just frustrations of a positive desire to be in a relationship or to be loved and be one flesh with the other person, you know, and find somebody like that in your life.
[01:05:46] And that's exactly what God wants for you too.
[01:05:49] He probably wants you to have a family too.
[01:05:51] Yeah.
[01:05:53] And so, uh, there's always, you can always give, like we were saying that one time, it's like, I think the shortest path back to, if you're on, if you're starting to veer off of the narrow path, uh, it's not like you have to turn all the way around and start from the beginning again.
[01:06:15] Yeah.
[01:06:16] You just, all you do is you make an about face and then you start walking in the correct direction.
[01:06:22] Yeah.
[01:06:22] You know, if you had to start over like, okay, well now you messed up.
[01:06:27] So now you got to redo all this stuff too, but before you can even get to the part where it gets better for you, thank God, his grace and mercy is new every day where it's like, no.
[01:06:37] That's religion, right?
[01:06:38] You know, that would be religion.
[01:06:40] Yeah, of course.
[01:06:42] And quite honestly, the white path, that's kind of like their gospel is, oh yeah, you, if you've messed up in any way, uh, unless you completely reverse everything that you've done and you spend so much time, uh, you know, analyzing it, going to therapy, like this and this life coach and this and this and this.
[01:07:06] When God's just saying, all you have to do is turn around.
[01:07:09] It's not like you have to start from go again or retrace your steps a little bit.
[01:07:15] Like, okay, I got to retrace my steps and really, really, really, uh, uh, overanalyze all the things that I made a mistake on.
[01:07:24] No, you acknowledge the mistake as for the forgiveness and then just immediately turn in the opposite direction that you're going right now.
[01:07:33] Yeah.
[01:07:33] And you'll be, and you'll be good, you know?
[01:07:35] But I think we feel like we have to, in our own pride, I think it's our pride.
[01:07:41] Like we have to make up, we have to make up for it or something.
[01:07:44] We have to like.
[01:07:45] And it's the opinion of others too.
[01:07:48] You know, we feel like we have to.
[01:07:49] They make you feel that way.
[01:07:50] They make, I think the white path has got, has got it worse than ever.
[01:07:54] Like the world will make you feel like, Hey, you'll never pay for your debt.
[01:07:59] Yeah.
[01:08:00] Like when they harp on slavery and racism and things like that, this country will never pay for it.
[01:08:07] You know, there's nothing you could do to stop, you know, uh, the systemic racism quote unquote that we have.
[01:08:14] And it's all just a big lie to control people.
[01:08:16] But, um, that's one example of like, Hey, you can never do it.
[01:08:22] So don't even try.
[01:08:23] It was basically what I'm saying.
[01:08:24] You know, when you're dealing with people like that, get around people that know the truth, know that all he has to do is start going in the right direction.
[01:08:32] And don't listen to the world because the devil's got us duped saying, well, no, no, no.
[01:08:38] You've got to really like just, but the truth is there's nothing you could ever, ever do to please these people and to get them to accept you.
[01:08:48] You know, the world's not going to accept us.
[01:08:50] So we shouldn't even pay attention to that, uh, ideology.
[01:08:55] You know, I think.
[01:08:57] Yeah, man, I could, I could keep talking for hours.
[01:09:01] Um, we're getting, we're already getting high on time.
[01:09:04] Um, but, uh, yeah, I just real quick.
[01:09:08] I just wanted to, what you were saying is, is like, we see, we see the character of God.
[01:09:15] He is so merciful that he will, it would, it just takes one person to repent, to get right back on track where God wanted them to be.
[01:09:26] And we see this time and time again with the Jewish people or with people in the old Testament.
[01:09:32] You know, we see, um, we see God be merciful in ways that people just aren't, you know?
[01:09:39] And we, so that's another reason why it's so important to, uh, read the word of God.
[01:09:43] Cause we get to understand what his character is like.
[01:09:46] And, uh, you know, people are going to tell you, oh, you messed up.
[01:09:49] You lost, you lost the, you're out, you know, as a believer.
[01:09:54] Oh, you, you know, even, you know, somebody who.
[01:09:56] Church.
[01:09:58] Yeah.
[01:09:58] You've, you know, you had a divorce or, um, you know, you had an abortion back before, you know, long ago.
[01:10:04] So you can't get, you can't come back from it.
[01:10:07] And we read the word of God.
[01:10:10] We see his character is, is just not that way.
[01:10:13] It's just not that way.
[01:10:15] Yeah.
[01:10:15] Thank goodness.
[01:10:16] You know, he will, I mean, he's given people so many chances.
[01:10:19] And then, you know, if, and we even like the Ninevites with, with Jonah, you know, those, those people repented so quickly and God was merciful on them.
[01:10:28] You know?
[01:10:30] So.
[01:10:30] Oh yeah.
[01:10:32] So I think that's a, that's a promise from, from the Lord, uh, that we can, I love the illustration that you brought that, you know, the narrow path we can just, just turn around and go, go.
[01:10:45] Yeah.
[01:10:45] It just takes, you know, it's, it's like one, yes, it's one repentance.
[01:10:50] It's one.
[01:10:50] One action.
[01:10:51] Yeah.
[01:10:51] It's one action, you know, you, um, and I see somebody like, uh, somebody like Carl Lentz, who was a massive, uh, mega church pastor who, uh, got a scandal, cheated on his wife.
[01:11:04] You know, I'm seeing him now.
[01:11:05] Um, a lot of, a lot of the, you know, a lot of these, uh, maybe pastors who, who had a scandal are trying to like make up for it somehow.
[01:11:14] You know, have all these therapists on and have all these people, uh, you know, all, you know, saying sorry a million times.
[01:11:21] It's like, what are you doing?
[01:11:23] You know, just repent, you know, say yes to God.
[01:11:29] Yeah.
[01:11:30] So you will never get closure for it.
[01:11:32] They will never get results like you will from the, from the one who forgets sin as far as the East is from the West.
[01:11:40] Amen.
[01:11:41] Yeah.
[01:11:41] Yeah.
[01:11:41] Yeah.
[01:11:42] It's just, you know, you're never going to escape it on our own power.
[01:11:46] So.
[01:11:47] Yeah.
[01:11:49] That's good, man.
[01:11:50] Um, yeah.
[01:11:52] So, um, uh, yeah, I pray, uh, you know, some of, uh, whoever's listening, um, you know, hopefully Proverbs, uh, you know, go look at the, there's so much wisdom in the, in these books.
[01:12:03] It's a short, short book.
[01:12:06] It's pretty short.
[01:12:07] Um, but, um, you know, I hope it brings hope and encouragement.
[01:12:13] It definitely did to me tonight.
[01:12:15] So, um, no, definitely.
[01:12:17] Yeah.
[01:12:18] Yeah.
[01:12:18] So I just, uh, yeah, just reading it with an open heart and mind, uh, verse by verse and saying, and being honest with ourselves and saying, yes, this feels right.
[01:12:29] This actually is true.
[01:12:31] Like if I'm honest about it, what's being written here is absolutely true, but are we living it?
[01:12:38] Do we see that it putting it put an action in the world today?
[01:12:41] Yeah, absolutely not.
[01:12:43] And so that should tell you right there that there's a problem and we're totally, that's like an upside down kingdom going on right now.
[01:12:51] And so there needs to be something done about that.
[01:12:55] And so continually filling ourselves with the truth is just only going to give us more of the power we need to, uh, fulfill our desires that God gave us, which are, which are righteous and holy desires.
[01:13:09] Um, and then also help other people fulfill their desires too, you know, with the things that we learn about our own efforts.
[01:13:19] Yeah.
[01:13:20] I think we teach other people, we teach other people and disciple them in the same manner on how to ignore anything.
[01:13:27] That's not taking you that direction and only listen to and obey what God's, you know, and I already know.
[01:13:39] I don't obey God as much as I want to.
[01:13:43] It's just, I feel like I'm never going to be.
[01:13:46] Yeah.
[01:13:47] I feel like I'm never going to be.
[01:13:50] And it probably, it's probably is the truth.
[01:13:53] I'll never be able to do it like I want to.
[01:13:57] Yeah.
[01:13:57] You know, but can I do it?
[01:14:01] Like God wants me to, to, you know, to the, to the, to the, to the standard that God wants me to try and do it.
[01:14:09] Is that good enough?
[01:14:12] You know, is that, does that count?
[01:14:13] Can I just not take it so seriously for myself and realize that God's grace is there for a reason?
[01:14:21] Yeah.
[01:14:22] Um, so yeah.
[01:14:27] And his love is, you know, incredible.
[01:14:33] Um, but, uh, yeah, while we've been talking for a while, um, I guess, yeah, I love it too.
[01:14:42] Um, hopefully, uh, hopefully y'all, uh, enjoyed this episode.
[01:14:45] Um, I feel like we could, we could talk all night.
[01:14:48] Um, but, uh, thanks for listening.
[01:14:51] This has been, uh, uh, number episode number 62, uh, on the book of Proverbs.
[01:14:57] Um, yeah, go, go, go read that book.
[01:15:01] It's, I mean, it's just so much wisdom that I, you just can't deny the truth in it.
[01:15:06] Like, like Luke was saying, when you read that, it's just in, it's just kind of in your face and you just can't deny, um, the wisdom in this, in the, in the book.
[01:15:16] Um, and that's why people just don't read the Bible.
[01:15:19] Um, of course, you know?
[01:15:21] So, so, uh, yeah, I encourage you.
[01:15:25] If you need a word of hope, if you need, if you want to hear from the Lord, open your Bible.
[01:15:29] He's, he wants to talk to you.
[01:15:31] He wants, he wants to share his knowledge with you.
[01:15:35] Um, but we need to, uh, we need to understand what that means.
[01:15:40] And, uh, right.
[01:15:42] So, uh, yeah.
[01:15:44] Um, so thanks for listening.
[01:15:48] Um, make sure you subscribe to us.
[01:15:50] Uh, we're on YouTube.
[01:15:52] Uh, you can watch, watch the episodes on YouTube or, or Spotify or Apple podcast and, uh, go, uh, listen to our music at finding Neverland on Spotify or, uh, Apple music.
[01:16:03] Um, share it.
[01:16:05] Hope you like it.
[01:16:06] Check out our music.
[01:16:06] Uh, thanks for everybody for supporting us.
[01:16:10] Um, and we got some big things planned, I think for 2025, uh, uh, that we're excited about.
[01:16:17] So, um, big things happening.
[01:16:21] Um, is it your turn to pray this week or mine?
[01:16:26] It's mine.
[01:16:27] It's mine, I think.
[01:16:28] Is it your turn?
[01:16:28] Okay.
[01:16:29] Yeah.
[01:16:30] Do you, you want to lead us out with, yeah, close us out with a prayer?
[01:16:34] Um, thank you guys for listening.
[01:16:36] This is number X episode number 62.
[01:16:38] We love you.
[01:16:39] Um, and we appreciate you listening.
[01:16:41] So, um, Luke's going to lead us out with prayer and then, uh, hope you guys have a good weekend.
[01:16:47] Thank you.
[01:16:47] Yeah.
[01:16:51] Father, thank you so much for giving us this time and opportunity and resources to be able to discuss your word and fellowship and learn more truths every time we look at your word.
[01:17:05] And, and every time we look at your word with an open heart and a willingness to learn and to be obedient and have that heart of obedience.
[01:17:18] Uh, uh, prior to even reading or, or, or asking a question from you guys that we've set ourselves up for the best relationship we can have with you.
[01:17:33] Um, and, and we, we, we, we there's a question about what we are doing.
[01:17:35] get every piece of meat out of your word and the exact message you want us to get from it
[01:17:41] and not reading a verse out of context or just, you know, taking it and making it your
[01:17:47] own theology.
[01:17:49] God prevent us from ever succumbing to that, God, because it's just that these things
[01:18:02] that you have shown us, God, and the way you want us to live a righteous life is almost too good to be true,
[01:18:12] I think, and that's why I know it's true.
[01:18:18] That's why I know it's right also, aside from feeling it in my spirit, God, that you've created within us.
[01:18:24] You've ingrained this in us, in our conscience from the time we were born.
[01:18:29] God, we're a sense of moral law universally.
[01:18:34] And we just ask that you help us as we navigate these things and then also help others navigate it
[01:18:43] with the wisdom that you give us, that we can pass that wisdom to others also.
[01:18:49] And with our experiences and mistakes and successes that we have, God, that we can use all of it.
[01:18:59] And we just ask that you use us to do that and continue to bless this band,
[01:19:06] continue to bless everyone out there that is doing this thing where we apply your laws and put obedience over everything
[01:19:21] and try to get better and better every day with it.
[01:19:27] And we just know that your grace and your mercy is sufficient for the rest of it.
[01:19:32] And you fill in the blanks, God.
[01:19:34] You really, you know, when we miss the mark, God, on the target, you walk up and you take the arrow
[01:19:42] and then you place it in the bullseye for us.
[01:19:45] That's exactly what you do, God, when we put our trust and our faith in you.
[01:19:54] You are the great healer.
[01:19:56] You are the great counselor.
[01:19:59] And so any other words that we hear, God, are just worthless.
[01:20:06] It's a cheap knockoff of your exact words and your laws.
[01:20:17] And the goodness that comes from those things that you've asked us to live by is just too much.
[01:20:28] It's almost too good to be true to me, God.
[01:20:32] When I live in this system of the world and try to live not of it, it's hard to kind of reconcile that sometimes, God.
[01:20:40] So I pray that you give us the courage and the faith and understanding to overcome the tendency to compromise any of this
[01:20:54] because it's too risky and you are too good of a God, God, to not take it seriously and want to please you.
[01:21:08] And that's our ultimate goal, God.
[01:21:10] And we love you so much.
[01:21:12] And what your son did, sacrificing himself for our sins, God.
[01:21:19] We're just eternally grateful and we thank you and we praise you.
[01:21:27] And as Jesus said to pray, you know, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, God.
[01:21:35] I pray that we pray that deliver us from evil instead of always having the mindset of deliver us from suffering,
[01:21:47] deliver us from pain because that's not what Jesus was saying.
[01:21:52] We're going to experience those things.
[01:21:55] The day that we think we're not going to have problems is never going to come or suffering, you know, or pain.
[01:22:02] So deliver us from evil, God.
[01:22:05] But we just – and I pray for you to strengthen us for those times of pain and suffering that is going to occur
[01:22:17] or self-inflicted adversity to get stronger ourselves.
[01:22:22] And the things that you bring down our path to strengthen us also.
[01:22:29] So we just pray for – we don't pray to be delivered from it because it's a non-negotiable part of life
[01:22:39] that we're going to go through these things, God.
[01:22:41] And it's to your glory that we do and we overcome it and we come out on the other side successful, Lord.
[01:22:49] And we just have that example in your son and what he did on the cross, God.
[01:22:55] And complete obedience to you, God.
[01:22:57] That is the biggest example for us.
[01:23:00] And Paul is another one, God, that you just really put out there on a pedestal to say,
[01:23:07] look, this man is willing to do anything I ask him to do.
[01:23:15] And then not only willing, but he goes out and does it.
[01:23:19] And then he's willing to lose his life for it also.
[01:23:22] Because millions have already lost their life for your word and your truth, God.
[01:23:27] And your goodness and just see it spread.
[01:23:29] And just see you glorified.
[01:23:31] The evil will not triumph.
[01:23:33] So give us that same spirit to just surrender everything to you.
[01:23:39] And not even miss, you know, we won't even miss what we surrendered, God, by your grace and your power.
[01:23:51] And you will fulfill us, God.
[01:23:53] The desire to follow you and serve you, God, is going to be all the filling we need.
[01:23:59] And so everything else is just a cheap knockoff.
[01:24:04] And, you know, this is the dollar store.
[01:24:08] It's the dollar store brand of wisdom.
[01:24:11] It will only get you so far as to feel good about yourself.
[01:24:15] And then nothing changes.
[01:24:17] And the world looks at it and says, yeah, that's fake, you know.
[01:24:24] So we just want to be authentic.
[01:24:28] And we can trust your word, God.
[01:24:30] So thank you.
[01:24:32] We thank you.
[01:24:33] We love you, God.
[01:24:34] And pray for everybody that's listening tonight that you bless them this weekend and this upcoming week.
[01:24:42] Just be with them and show them your love, your face.
[01:24:46] Shine your face upon them and give them your countenance.
[01:24:51] And we thank you.
[01:24:53] Thank you.
[01:24:54] Pray this in your son's name, Lord, that you empower us for this walk.
[01:25:00] And sometimes we're under, we have to undertake.
[01:25:03] So thank you.
[01:25:05] Love you, God.
[01:25:06] Thank you.
[01:25:08] And amen.
[01:25:10] Amen.
[01:25:11] Wow, bro.
[01:25:14] Thanks, buddy.
[01:25:16] Of course.
[01:25:17] That was great.
[01:25:22] Amazing.
[01:25:23] I got really filled up from that.
[01:25:25] I felt the spirit just enter my apartment right now.
[01:25:30] And that was incredible, dude.
[01:25:32] I just, I got chills.
[01:25:34] So God is listening, man.
[01:25:36] He's here.
[01:25:37] He's here with us.
[01:25:39] He is so good.
[01:25:40] He's so faithful.
[01:25:43] And I don't know how many people we have listening right now, but we have Jesus listening.
[01:25:51] And that was beautiful, man.
[01:25:54] So really, really, really thankful for your heart, for God, and for just continuing to be obedient with this show.
[01:26:05] I think it's getting better and better each week.
[01:26:08] And I just, I just am amazed by it.
[01:26:12] So.
[01:26:13] Of course, man.
[01:26:14] Yeah.
[01:26:15] I feel the same way.
[01:26:16] Yeah.
[01:26:17] I, I, the other day, just real quick, I grabbed my Bible.
[01:26:21] Which I don't normally just grab my Bible and take it out to my room.
[01:26:25] I usually sit it on my bed while I'm sleeping just to be there.
[01:26:29] Kind of like a, not as an amulet, but just feeling good about it.
[01:26:35] When I touched this Bible, I felt some sort of a peace and joy just come over.
[01:26:44] It wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't a big flash of chills or anything.
[01:26:49] Yeah.
[01:26:49] It was a calmness that I was just like, wow.
[01:26:52] Yeah.
[01:26:52] You know, God knows I'm doing this just to like, kind of like be like, oh, that's my, that's his word.
[01:26:58] I want that here next to me while I'm sleeping at night too.
[01:27:01] It just makes you feel good.
[01:27:02] And all the way walking up to my room with it, if I was holding it in my hand, I just felt my whole body just feel calm.
[01:27:11] And like everything is right with the world.
[01:27:14] And that was a weird experience for me.
[01:27:16] I didn't expect it, but I definitely, you know, when the spirit is just like, I wanted you to notice this.
[01:27:23] That's how, that's how much you could notice it.
[01:27:27] You know, like I wanted you to notice this.
[01:27:29] So that's why you did.
[01:27:32] Just holding it in my hand just kind of gave me something that I, it eludes me way too many times than I would like to admit.
[01:27:44] Amazing dude.
[01:27:45] Wow.
[01:27:45] Thankful.
[01:27:46] Thankful for those appointments, man.
[01:27:48] Yeah.
[01:27:48] Me too.
[01:27:49] Yeah.
[01:27:50] Um, yeah.
[01:27:53] We love you guys.
[01:27:54] Thank you so much for listening.
[01:27:55] Thank you for supporting us.
[01:27:56] Um, we will be back on next week and, uh, I guess we'll, we'll finally end this episode, but, uh, we appreciate you.
[01:28:05] If you're listening to us tonight, uh, we love you.
[01:28:08] We're praying for you.
[01:28:09] Uh, and we just, I just hope that this episode encouraged you, gave you hope.
[01:28:13] And, uh, I pray that whoever's listening, uh, we'll, uh, we'll, uh, walk deeper with, with God.
[01:28:20] Cause he's, he's, he's worth it.
[01:28:22] He's worth the sacrifice and, uh, uh, he's worth, uh, the rejection from the world for sure.
[01:28:28] So of course.
[01:28:30] Yeah.
[01:28:30] So we love you guys.
[01:28:32] Uh, we'll see you.
[01:28:32] We'll see you next, next Friday.
[01:28:34] Hope you have a good weekend.
[01:28:36] And, uh, until next time.
[01:28:37] Uh, thanks for listening.
[01:28:38] And it sounds good.
[01:28:40] Yeah.
[01:28:41] So cool.
[01:28:42] See you next week.
[01:28:43] All right, guys.
[01:28:48] Thank you for listening to this episode of the Finding Neverland podcast.
