Nobody vs Somebody

[00:00:00] And Hoso Avashogs Altumself Shelby Abased, and he that shall humble himself Shelby exalted. Matthew 23 and 12. Everyone it's MJ and thank you for joining me. I am so glad that the Lord God Almighty looks on the heart. That is the place where the truth lies.

[00:00:26] It is so important to keep his spirit of humility, no matter where you are in life, because that is what gives life. I have so much more to say on this, so please stay tuned. It's amazing how people will treat you when they consider you a nobody.

[00:00:52] They will not support, respect or appreciate things that you do. You can be so talented, so skilled, intelligent. You can have a genuine heart, but I can't see it. Because you don't have a high status, a load of money or connections.

[00:01:19] You're considered a nobody by some people when they feel you are not on their level. Unfortunately, there are people that will put you into one or two categories. You're either a somebody or nobody and it's sad.

[00:01:38] They consider the somebody as people with high profiles and titles and a lot of money and many connections. They are the ones that get the support in their respect, the special treatment. They are seen, they have a voice. They offer the best seat in the house.

[00:01:58] And even if they are not the nicest person, it doesn't matter because everyone wants to jump on their bandwagon. And hope that they will receive some of that same treatment. Therefore, a lot of people will do whatever it takes to be seen with these highest status people.

[00:02:19] Proverbs 19 and 6, many will enshrate the favor of the prince. And every man is a friend to him that gives it gifts. You know what is interesting to me. Some of the most talented people you will ever meet are inmates in prison. But they are considered by society.

[00:02:46] Nobody's. They're only recognized by a number. They have very little positions if any at all. Some of the most intelligent people you will meet are living on the street. These people made bad choices.

[00:03:02] Get caught up in the wrong crowd and that path led them from being a somebody to a nobody. But God is unique because he seeks out the quote and quote. Nobody's. In Genesis chapter 37, God shall Joseph he was a somebody through the dreams he has given him.

[00:03:28] He showed him that his brothers will bow down before him. When he told his brothers the dream they got upset and jealous. So they tried to make him a nobody by getting rid of him. Throwing him into a pit. Which to them was probably a garbage can.

[00:03:47] Joseph went through phases of feeling like a nobody. Sold into slavery. Lie down and imprisoned. But he had to hold onto what God showed him. And he did that by keeping his integrity. Maybe God showed you something that doesn't match your path.

[00:04:08] But I want to encourage you to hold onto the promise and your integrity. And King day there wasn't even around when Samuel came to his father's house to anoint the next king of Israel. He was watching sheep. He wasn't even considered.

[00:04:28] The only reason why he was called is because none of his brothers were chosen by God to be king. And Esther, she had no parents. And I don't remember the Bible mentioning her having a whole lot of girlfriends and friends around her.

[00:04:46] But she entered a beauty contest and one hands down. I believe it wasn't just her beauty but it was also her bravery. All of the people that I mentioned came into a place of power and authority. Did they look or ask for it? No. Did they expect it?

[00:05:10] No. But God wasn't looking at their status. He was looking at their heart. Please let me be clear. I'm not saying that everyone with the high status is bad. And I'm not saying that desiring to be in a position of high status, of power or authority is bad.

[00:05:33] I'm saying that you have to keep in mind your attitude when you come into certain places, titles and even riches. Sometimes when people reach a certain status they change. And it's not a positive change. They become prideful and the Lord hates pride.

[00:06:00] And you are supposed to hate it too. Proverbs 8 and 13, the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Pride, arrogancey, and the evil way. And the Ford mouth do I hate. You know, one person that I admire in the Bible is Mary.

[00:06:26] The one that was the mother of Jesus on the earth. I don't remember Mary being mentioned as, you know, one with a great and high status. She wasn't recognized as a queen yet. She was chosen to get birth to the King of Kings.

[00:06:44] Luke 1 and 28, and the angel came in unto her and said, Hail, vow that are highly favored, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou, among women. You see, Mary was highly favored. Now some people argue that favor isn't there. But it is fair.

[00:07:11] And there are certain things you need to do to obtain it. Proverbs 3 verses 3 through 4, Let not mercy and truth forsake thee. Bind them about thy neck. Write them upon the table of nine heart. So shall bow, bind, favor in good understanding in the sight of God and man.

[00:07:34] And Proverbs 11 and 27, he that diligently seek it good, but you are a favor. But he best seek it mischief. It shall come upon him. And Proverbs 12 and 2, a good man obtain it, favor of the Lord. But a man of wicked devices, well he can dem.

[00:07:56] Your goal should be to be somebody to the Lord. Well, how do you do that? Well, you do it with how you live your life like Job. Job one and one in the land of us, their lived a man whose name was Job.

[00:08:14] This name was Blameless and upright. He feared God and shunned evil. Now let me explain something to you. To fear God does not mean to be afraid of him. It just means to respect and honor him. This is what it takes to be somebody in God's eyes.

[00:08:34] You have to honor and respect him, honor his ways, and do not part-taken evil and pride. So keep that in mind because some of you are going to go to very high places and beat Blast greatly. But remember to keep your humility.

[00:08:52] Don't get caught up in the wrong attitude and forget where you come from and treat people differently. Because pride is not of God. It's of the devil. That's what got him kicked out of heaven in the first place. And some of you are operating in a humility now,

[00:09:15] but it doesn't seem like it's pan off. Don't stop and don't despise it and do season the Lord will exalt you. He doesn't forget. I wonder why people seek after to become a quote-and-quote somebody so much.

[00:09:34] I mean, they will go above and beyond to be part of anything. Some people even lose their integrity. They will lie still, do despicable things to themselves and others just to be noticed or validated by somebody. These people are so hungry for notoriety,

[00:09:58] but they go about it the wrong way. Pride is not the way humility is. Well, the good news is the Lord loves everybody. It doesn't matter your status. He loves us all the same. You don't get more love because you are a millionaire or a big time celebrity.

[00:10:20] It's a big deal to God how we treat each other. So I want to end with this. This is a crazy-astics chapter nine verses 14 through 16. There was a little city and few men within it and there came a great king against it.

[00:10:43] And the siege did and built great bullworks against it. Now, there was found in it a poor wise man and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no man remembered the same poor man. Then said I, wisdom is better than strength.

[00:11:06] Nevertheless, the poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heard. I want to say this to you and I want this to be the key takeaway of this episode. Don't let Pride blind you of help of provision, creativity and other things that you may need.

[00:11:33] It may not come in the form you are expecting, but that doesn't mean it's not from God. You have to remember the Lord is weak and lonely in heart. Sometimes our blessing comes in a form of a seed and it has to grow into something big

[00:11:52] but don't despise the seed. Don't look down upon people who don't have a high profile, a lot of money, a whole bunch of connections because those people may be the very people that have the answers that you need. Pride will blind you of blessings.

[00:12:15] You will miss out on so much because you are not operating in a humility. Let our Lord be your example who was humble and obedient to his father even unto the death of the cross. So while we're trying to be so busy being somebody's

[00:12:35] the Lord put on the garment of a nobody He was born in a manger got 12 regular guys to be his disciples and he died a sinner's death. So let me ask you do you want to be a somebody or nobody? That's a tricky question, isn't it?

[00:12:56] Well, like I said, we are all somebody's in God's eyes but I encourage you to be someone who was humble and hard in spirit instead of being someone who is full of pride because humility will greatly benefit you. Proverbs 22 and 4 by humility and the fear of the Lord

[00:13:21] are riches and honor and life and Proverbs 29 and 23 a man's pride shall bring him low but honor shall uphold the humble and spirit. Again, don't let pride rule and reign over your life Don't ever look down on people and have certain people look down on you
