[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily

[00:00:44] podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the word

[00:00:50] of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives. You may contact Elgin at the address

[00:00:57] given at the end of the broadcast. And now here's Elgin.

[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus the Christ, to

[00:01:08] another episode of Words of Inspiration, where we dive into God's Word and explore how it guides

[00:01:15] our lives. And today's episode is titled, Where do you want to go? Our inspiration comes from

[00:01:24] Psalm 37 verses 4-7, which reads, Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the

[00:01:34] desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring

[00:01:42] it to pass. This passage has often been interpreted as a promise that God will give us whatever we

[00:01:49] desire. But as we'll explore today, the true beauty of these verses is in our desire to transform when

[00:01:58] we delight ourselves in the Lord. When we commend our plans to Him, He shapes them in ways that leads to

[00:02:06] lasting joy and fulfillment, often in ways we didn't expect. We all have dreams and goals, things that

[00:02:16] we want to achieve or places we want to go in life. But have you ever noticed that sometimes even when

[00:02:23] we get exactly what we want, it doesn't bring the lasting joy we expected? This is where Psalm 37 gives

[00:02:31] us wisdom. When the verse says, Delight thyself also in the Lord, it's showing us that our desires change

[00:02:40] when we make God the center of our lives. Instead of just pursuing our own ambitions, we begin to desire

[00:02:48] what God desires for us. Our hearts shift. We start to long for the things that reflect God's will,

[00:02:56] things that bring glory to Him and lasting peace to our souls. It's not that God withholds the things

[00:03:04] we love, but that as we delight in Him, He reshapes our hearts to align with His perfect plan.

[00:03:12] So what does it mean to delight in the Lord? It means finding joy and satisfaction in who God is,

[00:03:21] His love, His promises, His presence in our lives. It means making Him the priority in all that we do.

[00:03:31] When we delight in the Lord, we are not just following a set of rules or seeking blessings.

[00:03:37] We are experiencing the fullness of a relationship with our Creator. Delighting ourselves in the Lord

[00:03:45] transforms the way we view our desires. The more we know of Him, the more we begin to see the wisdom

[00:03:53] of His ways. We start to understand that His plan for us are far greater than anything we could plan

[00:04:00] for ourselves. And when we trust in Him, we begin to want what He wants for us.

[00:04:08] Isaiah 55 and 9 reminds us,

[00:04:12] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,

[00:04:17] and my thoughts than your thoughts.

[00:04:20] God's vision for our lives is bigger, deeper, and more fulfilling than anything we can imagine.

[00:04:27] But it requires trust. It requires us to release our grip on our own desires and allow Him to shape our hearts.

[00:04:38] The next verse, Psalm 37 5, gives us the next step.

[00:04:44] Commit thy way unto the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

[00:04:51] Here, we are encouraged to commit our plan to God.

[00:04:55] That doesn't mean that we abandon our dreams or give up the settings of goals.

[00:05:00] Instead, it means that we bring everything, our desires, ambitions, and plans before God and ask Him to guide us.

[00:05:10] We say,

[00:05:11] Lord, here is where I want to go, but I trust you to lead me.

[00:05:17] When we commit our way to the Lord, we surrender control, knowing that His plans are far better than our own.

[00:05:25] And here is the promise.

[00:05:27] He shall bring it to pass.

[00:05:29] What God brings to pass may not always look like exactly what we had in mind,

[00:05:35] but it will be what's best for us.

[00:05:38] It will be what leads to real joy and fulfillment, because it will align with His perfect will.

[00:05:47] Trusting God with our plan requires patience and faith.

[00:05:53] Sometimes, the path He leads us on doesn't make sense in the moment.

[00:05:57] There are times when we might wonder,

[00:05:59] God, why isn't this happening the way I envision?

[00:06:03] But remember, God sees the bigger picture.

[00:06:07] Proverbs 16 and 9 says,

[00:06:10] A man's heart divideth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.

[00:06:16] It's okay to have plans and desires, but we must trust God to direct our steps.

[00:06:22] He will lead us to the place we need to be,

[00:06:26] and often those places are more fulfilling than we could have imagined.

[00:06:31] When we look back, we'll see how God was working behind the scenes,

[00:06:35] shaping us and guiding us toward His best.

[00:06:40] So where do you want to go?

[00:06:42] Take a moment to reflect.

[00:06:44] What dreams are you holding on to?

[00:06:47] And have you committed them to God?

[00:06:50] As you delight in the Lord and commit your ways to Him,

[00:06:54] trust that He will align your desires with His will.

[00:06:57] And in that alignment, you will find true fulfillment.

[00:07:02] As Psalm 37 reminds us,

[00:07:05] God is faithful.

[00:07:07] He will bring His plan to pass in your life,

[00:07:10] and those plans will be far greater than anything you could have imagined.

[00:07:15] So delight in the Lord.

[00:07:17] Commit your way to Him

[00:07:19] and trust Him with your future.

[00:07:23] Brothers and sisters,

[00:07:25] if today's message has encouraged you,

[00:07:27] please share it with someone else who may need to hear this truth.

[00:07:31] And remember,

[00:07:32] when you delight in the Lord,

[00:07:34] He will guide your path in ways that lead to true joy.

[00:07:39] I thank you for spending time with me on today,

[00:07:42] and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.

[00:07:45] Until then,

[00:07:47] God bless.
