[00:00:49] rightly dividing the word of truth, and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.
[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast.
[00:00:59] And now, here's Elgin.
[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
[00:01:08] to another edition of Words of Inspiration, where we explore God's word and how it shapes our lives.
[00:01:16] And today's episode is titled, What Do You Need?
[00:01:22] Our scriptural inspiration comes from Romans 8, verse 31,
[00:01:28] and reading from the New International Version, it reads,
[00:01:33] What then shall we say in response to these things?
[00:01:37] If God is for us, who can be against us?
[00:01:42] This powerful verse is a reminder of God's unwavering commitment to his people.
[00:01:47] If God is on our side, there is no force that can stand against us.
[00:01:54] But what does that mean for the things we need in life?
[00:01:57] How does God's provision work?
[00:02:00] And what does he expect from us in return?
[00:02:04] Today, we'll talk about the conditions of God's provision
[00:02:07] and how it's not just about meeting our material needs, but also about drawing us closer to him.
[00:02:17] First, let's acknowledge the truth that God is faithful and he is a faithful provider.
[00:02:23] The Bible is filled with promises that God will meet our needs.
[00:02:29] Philippians 4 and 19 says,
[00:02:32] And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
[00:02:39] God's resources are limitless and he cares deeply for our well-being.
[00:02:44] But his provision comes with expectations, principles we are called to live by.
[00:02:52] It's important to recognize that God's provision isn't just about giving us what we want.
[00:02:57] It's about what we need, not only in a physical sense, but also in our spiritual growth.
[00:03:05] Sometimes what we think we need isn't aligned with what God knows is best for us.
[00:03:12] One of the key requirements for experiencing God's provision is living in faith and obedience.
[00:03:19] Hebrews 11 and 6 tells us,
[00:03:23] And without faith, it is impossible to please God.
[00:03:27] Faith is a foundation in our relationship with God.
[00:03:32] It's the confidence that he is who he says he is, and that he will do what he has promised.
[00:03:39] But faith is more than just belief.
[00:03:42] It's action.
[00:03:44] When we walk in obedience to God's word, we align ourselves with his will.
[00:03:50] Deuteronomy 28 verses 1 through 2 tells us that blessings come when we carefully follow his
[00:03:58] commandments. Obedience is about trusting that God's way is better than ours even when it doesn't
[00:04:05] make sense. It's about surrendering our plans and being open to his. So ask yourself are you living
[00:04:14] in faith? Are you aligning your action with God's commands even when it's hard or inconvenient?
[00:04:22] God's provision flows more freely when we are living in a way that honors him.
[00:04:28] Another expectation is generosity. God blesses us not so that we can hoard his gifts but so we can
[00:04:37] bless others. Luke chapter 6 verse 38 says give and it will be given to you. When we are generous we
[00:04:48] participate in God's cycle of provision. We become channels of his blessings and in doing so we make
[00:04:55] room for him to pour even more into our lives. Generosity isn't just about giving money. It's
[00:05:04] about giving our time, talent, and love. It's about seeing needs around us and being willing to step
[00:05:12] in and make a difference. When we live generously we reflect God's heart and he takes care of us in
[00:05:19] ways that go beyond our imagination. Finally God calls us to prayerful dependence. Philippians 4 verses
[00:05:30] 6 through 7 encourages us do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and
[00:05:39] petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. Prayer is our way of acknowledging that we
[00:05:48] can't do it on our own. It's how we bring our needs to God trusting that he hears us and will answer
[00:05:54] according to his perfect will. But prayer is more than just asking for things. It's a way to deepen
[00:06:02] our relationship with God, to align our heart with his and to receive his peace even when we don't
[00:06:09] understand his timing or his ways. When we depend on God in prayer we are expressing our trust in his
[00:06:19] provision and wisdom. God's provision is about more than just material blessings. He provides for our
[00:06:28] spiritual needs as well. He refines our character, deepens our faith, and molds us to reflect his glory.
[00:06:37] Romans 8 28 assures us and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
[00:06:46] who have been called according to his purpose. Even in times when it seems like our needs are not being
[00:06:54] met in the way that we expect, he may be using this season to teach us patience, to strengthen our trust,
[00:07:01] or to prepare us for something greater. God is always at work and his timing is perfect.
[00:07:10] So what do you need today? Is it strength, comfort, provision, or guidance? Remember that God is for you.
[00:07:21] If he is for you, who can be against you? But also remember that he calls us to live in faith,
[00:07:28] to walk in obedience, to give generously, and to depend on him through prayer.
[00:07:36] When we align our hearts and actions with his will, we can trust that he will meet our needs in his
[00:07:42] perfect way and timing. And more than that, he will use every experience to draw us closer to him
[00:07:50] and shape our character for his glory. If today's message has encouraged you,
[00:07:57] share it with someone who may need to hear that God is a faithful provider.
[00:08:02] Remember, he's working for your good, even in the waiting.
[00:08:09] I thank you for spending time with me on today and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.
[00:08:15] Until then, God bless.
