Merry Christmas!!
"Thy kingdom come" is more than a prayer; it’s a declaration of hope, a commitment to live out God’s will, and an anticipation of the day when His reign will be fully realized. Through the birth of Christ, the kingdom of God is already here, working in the lives of believers and transforming the world. And through our obedience, love, and witness, we can participate in this divine work.
[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the word of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives. You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast. And now here's Elgin.
[00:01:02] Brothers and Sisters, I welcome you in the name of the risen Savior, Jesus the Christ, and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. And welcome to another episode of Words of Inspiration, where we explore the power of God's word and its application in our lives.
[00:01:23] And today we're joined by Dr. Darrell Brooks to discuss a topic that speaks to the very heart of our faith. Thy Kingdom Come. Inspired by Luke chapter 11 verse 2.
[00:01:40] And we're diving into what it means to pray for God's Kingdom to come, and how it is already at work in our lives through Jesus Christ.
[00:01:51] Luke 11 verse 3. Luke 11 verse 6. Luke 11 verse 2. Luke 11 verse 2. Luke 11 says, When you pray, say, Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
[00:02:08] This prayer of Jesus encapsulates God's sovereign plan to establish his rule over every aspect of life,
[00:02:16] over individuals, communities, nations, and the world.
[00:02:22] The birth of Christ marked the inbreaking of God's kingdom into our world.
[00:02:28] Jesus, God's son, came to embody the reign of God's love, justice, mercy, and righteousness.
[00:02:36] In his life in ministry, he demonstrated what the kingdom of God looks like.
[00:02:42] From healing the sick and feeding the hungry, to challenging oppressive systems and extending forgiveness,
[00:02:50] Jesus lived out God's will on earth.
[00:02:54] By coming into the world, Jesus fulfilled the prophecies and promises of God's sovereign rule.
[00:03:02] His birth wasn't just an event in history.
[00:03:05] It was a declaration that God's kingdom was at hand.
[00:03:09] A kingdom not built on human power, but on divine love and justice.
[00:03:16] When we pray, thy kingdom come, we are not only looking forward to the future,
[00:03:23] we are also acknowledging the kingdom of God at work in the present.
[00:03:28] Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, believers are invited to participate in his kingdom.
[00:03:36] How?
[00:03:38] By living in obedience to God's will, demonstrating his love, and sharing the gospel with those around us.
[00:03:45] As citizens of God's kingdom, our lives should reflect its values.
[00:03:52] We are called to embody love, justice, and mercy in our interactions with others all around.
[00:04:00] In doing so, we show the world a glimpse of God's reign.
[00:04:05] A reign where peace and restoration replace division and brokenness.
[00:04:12] And with that, I'd like to invite you, Dr. Brooks, to give us some words of wisdom.
[00:04:17] And I look forward to hearing what your thoughts are on this wonderful scripture on this wonderful, wonderful day.
[00:04:25] Hey, man.
[00:04:26] It's such an awesome, awesome time to come and share with you always.
[00:04:32] Always to come and share and to be invited to the platform.
[00:04:35] When I look at the scripture in Luke 11 and 2, it says,
[00:04:40] When you pray, say, Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed, be thy name.
[00:04:45] Your kingdom come.
[00:04:49] Period.
[00:04:50] And then it says, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[00:04:55] Thy kingdom come.
[00:04:56] What my mind went to, as you begin to talk about Jesus Christ and the gift,
[00:05:01] especially during this holiday season, that he is truly the reason for this season,
[00:05:08] that he says this in the word of God.
[00:05:10] And my mind goes to Matthew 16, 24.
[00:05:14] He says, If any man will come after me, let him first deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.
[00:05:21] Thy kingdom come means that in order for you to have the kingdom of God,
[00:05:28] that it has nothing to do with you.
[00:05:32] There must be a complete self-denial that if you want the kingdom of God,
[00:05:37] you must be willing to give up your will, give up your desire, give up your plan.
[00:05:43] Again, as we come to this holiday season, he is the reason for the season.
[00:05:48] You know, we take this time and give gifts to our loved ones.
[00:05:52] We take this time and we share love and show fellowship and come together and reminisce and remember and reflect,
[00:06:00] but also to love on each other.
[00:06:02] But he's the gift that was given so that we might have the kingdom of God.
[00:06:08] So when you talk about thy kingdom come, how do I embrace that kingdom?
[00:06:13] And this is Jesus telling us how to pray.
[00:06:16] He says, Listen, when you pray to my Father, pray,
[00:06:20] Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
[00:06:22] Your name is holy, hallowed.
[00:06:23] You're the only truly living God.
[00:06:25] You're the only righteous and divine king.
[00:06:28] You're the only God.
[00:06:32] There is none beside you.
[00:06:34] And hallowed be thy name.
[00:06:35] Your name shall be reverent and hallowed and respected and honored.
[00:06:38] And here it is.
[00:06:39] He says, Now your kingdom come.
[00:06:43] Your will be done.
[00:06:44] And when you think about the definition of kingdom in a spiritual sense, it's rule and reign.
[00:06:54] And so when Jesus came, you know, that's why the kingdom came.
[00:07:01] Because he was the earthly representation of what was to come, what could be had.
[00:07:07] That the amount of when you think about the miracles that Jesus did, it was a demonstration of heaven on earth, wasn't it?
[00:07:19] It was letting them understand the power, even though I'm immortal, just like you.
[00:07:26] All right.
[00:07:27] And understand that he who powers me will power you.
[00:07:30] But we have to be in a mindset where we understand that that is conditional, that it does require accountability.
[00:07:40] It does require obedience.
[00:07:42] It does require sacrifice.
[00:07:45] And even when we pray to the Lord for whatever is next in our lives, our next level of achievement, understanding that chaos comes with it.
[00:07:54] Yeah.
[00:07:54] And that we have to allow Jesus to guide our lives, you know, and as we continue to study the word, the Holy Spirit starts to open our eyes a little more.
[00:08:05] And as we pray and meditate on the word even more so that we begin to start seeing things from the perspective of our understanding what God expects of us.
[00:08:18] And understanding what Jesus came to show us.
[00:08:22] Yes, we do definitely like reading the stories of the miracles that he performed, but understanding why he did it and understanding what we were supposed to take from that and what we are to continually take from that is part of how we can get thy kingdom to come.
[00:08:43] Oh, yes.
[00:08:44] Understanding getting that kingdom to come.
[00:08:46] I was just thinking about that part too.
[00:08:48] You were talking and sharing it because.
[00:08:51] Because when his kingdom comes, it should not be an extension of who we are, but an extension of who he is.
[00:08:58] That's right.
[00:08:59] You know, that's again, going back to the self-denial, that if I want to see kingdom miracles, kingdom provision, kingdom blessing.
[00:09:07] If I want to access the very fact that I'm now an heir to that kingdom through Jesus Christ, then I still must be willing to not let my will supersede his will if I want to see kingdom advancement in earth or in me.
[00:09:26] Yes.
[00:09:27] Yes.
[00:09:28] And too often we want the blessing of the kingdom, but we don't want to advance the kingdom.
[00:09:37] Can I say that?
[00:09:38] Yes, sir.
[00:09:39] Yes, sir.
[00:09:39] Yes, sir.
[00:09:40] Because a lot of times we want the glory of the kingdom.
[00:09:45] We want to be known or reverenced or recognized as a kingdom citizen.
[00:09:51] But when we get to the point where many have began to pick or lift themselves up above the throne of Christ, above his name, and now they want to be named among them, but still clarify themselves or identify themselves as kingdom citizens.
[00:10:10] That's a thought.
[00:10:12] Oh, absolutely.
[00:10:13] Absolutely.
[00:10:14] And, you know, James spoke to the very same thing when he said faith without works is dead.
[00:10:21] Yeah.
[00:10:22] Yeah.
[00:10:22] You can, you can purport to be all you want, but show me.
[00:10:25] I was reading a study today about the falling away of the church that has been experienced over the years.
[00:10:33] And he said part of the survey he did with the 10 churches that he was working, he said, I asked the pastor, if you were to close tomorrow, would anyone know that you're gone?
[00:10:46] That was deep because he was saying that too many times.
[00:10:49] And this is true for us as individuals that we become so inward facing that we forget that the Great Commission is outward facing.
[00:11:00] Yes.
[00:11:01] And it's what you do for the least of these.
[00:11:04] It's what you do to spread the word of God, to share the good news with others.
[00:11:11] And we're doing just the opposite.
[00:11:14] We spend a lot of time ourselves in prayer and meditation.
[00:11:17] But if you're not sharing it, show me your works.
[00:11:24] You know, Matthew 15 is a contrast to also Isaiah 29, 13.
[00:11:29] And it says, his people honor me with their lips.
[00:11:33] But their hearts are far from me.
[00:11:35] Yes.
[00:11:35] And so we want, it's like, God, we want to be recognized as we're standing with you.
[00:11:41] He says, but what's really in your heart?
[00:11:44] And there's a contrast between what they say and what they believe.
[00:11:47] You know, you say that you believe, but your actions, like you said, faith without works is dead.
[00:11:53] Like James, you say that you love me, but your heart is far from me.
[00:11:57] You say that you want me to move for you, but you have not positioned yourself in a place to be used by me.
[00:12:04] Hmm.
[00:12:06] It's like wanting to be honored for something that you didn't do.
[00:12:09] Right.
[00:12:11] And interestingly enough, as you grow spiritually, I hope at some point you understand how dangerous that is.
[00:12:20] Yes.
[00:12:21] You know, is, is, is, is.
[00:12:25] I knew you not, you know, get the way.
[00:12:30] Because I can hear what you say and, and, and everything from rattling tens, right?
[00:12:36] That you could, you can make the noise, but what does your life say?
[00:12:40] What does your heart say?
[00:12:41] And I think that a lot of what we, what we are experiencing in terms of the anxiety that people feel now is because they're, they've kind of lost their place because the church doesn't say so like it used to.
[00:12:55] Didn't, didn't, we don't go out and greet people where they are and, and tell them that there is a path from where you are.
[00:13:03] And, and that, that also goes to say that, um, God, God wants a, a true commitment.
[00:13:12] Not just, just, not just an outward expression or observance, you know, or just lip service.
[00:13:19] It's an inward commitment that he wants.
[00:13:22] Um, I believe Joel says, when your heart and not your government.
[00:13:25] Yes.
[00:13:26] Um, he wants an inward change in that, you know, that, that I just don't want to show up just, you know,
[00:13:32] just, just to show up.
[00:13:34] I really want to show up because, you know, he means that much more to me.
[00:13:38] If I want to, I want to call attention to another scripture during this time.
[00:13:42] And it's a familiar scripture that everyone should know.
[00:13:45] John 3, 16.
[00:13:46] We talk about this time and season that we're in.
[00:13:49] For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who sort of believeth in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.
[00:13:58] And I believe that next verse says that he didn't send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
[00:14:07] Yes.
[00:14:07] And so that's when you talk about kingdom come.
[00:14:09] I sent my son, thy kingdom come so that you could be saved.
[00:14:15] Yes.
[00:14:16] So that you would not be condemned.
[00:14:19] So that you would not have to suffer in the second death.
[00:14:22] And you wouldn't have to die and go to hell.
[00:14:24] You know, I sent my son as a gift to you to be received and embraced.
[00:14:30] And all you have to do is accept him as your Lord and Savior and, and, and allow him to transform your heart and your life.
[00:14:39] And listen, the kingdom of God shall not just come to you, but manifest in you.
[00:14:45] You can see the manifestation of the kingdom in your everyday life.
[00:14:50] You know, um, it, it just, it, it, it's amazing about the love of God.
[00:14:57] How again, and Jesus in turn flips it again, as we look at our scripture, he says, when you pray to the father, honor him.
[00:15:07] Cause he always said, I never came to do my will, but the will of him who sent me.
[00:15:11] Honor him for his kingdom to show up.
[00:15:14] First came to manifest.
[00:15:16] But then he says, by kingdom come and his will be done.
[00:15:21] Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[00:15:25] That earth.
[00:15:25] And that, so we are, let his will reign in your lives.
[00:15:30] Let his will transform your very existence.
[00:15:33] And then we'll truly see the kingdom manifesting right before our very eyes.
[00:15:37] The kingdom is, is always manifesting around us 24%.
[00:15:41] That's right.
[00:15:42] That's right.
[00:15:42] It's here.
[00:15:43] Yeah.
[00:15:44] And, and, and, and, you know, you made, it was so interesting when you said,
[00:15:48] thy will be done in the, in my mind, I heard it as.
[00:15:55] If we're obedient and we follow his will and his purpose, that we will be finished.
[00:16:03] Thy will be done.
[00:16:07] Right.
[00:16:08] You know, you're trying to get there.
[00:16:10] And the way that that is done is to obedience is, is through knowledge.
[00:16:16] It's, it's through sharing.
[00:16:17] He loves us so much that he gave, but are we always in the position that we understand how to receive it?
[00:16:25] Yeah.
[00:16:27] And, and how to cherish it for the unimaginable gift that we were given.
[00:16:34] Right.
[00:16:35] You know, we, we, we relegate the 25th to a day of, of, of, of presence and good food, which I think is fantastic.
[00:16:45] But at the same time, do we ever take the time to maybe even take a moment of silence and say, you know, do you know, one year, my wife and I, we didn't give to, we didn't exchange any presents with the kids because we wanted them to really, really understand what this day is about.
[00:17:05] And we read the word and we listened to some music, but, but no gifts because we, we couldn't have it to where they did not understand that in our household that God's first.
[00:17:18] Right.
[00:17:19] Right.
[00:17:19] And when he gives that gift, the gift that he gave to us, that what we receive, as you said earlier, is transformational.
[00:17:28] It can change entire nations, but do you always recognize that?
[00:17:33] And I respect that.
[00:17:34] I respect that so wholeheartedly.
[00:17:36] We were in service years ago.
[00:17:40] And, and during this time, our children gave their gifts away and we were actually in revival, you know, we were in revival.
[00:17:51] We stayed in revival, I won't say that the people that were, were, were the speakers during that time, because you know, that's neither here nor there.
[00:17:58] But during that time, there was a mighty move of God.
[00:18:00] The whole city came out actually.
[00:18:02] And, and all the pastors were asked to, were they, were they willing to just shut down their services or their churches during this time and just give it to God?
[00:18:12] And I, and I promise you, we, I just told the church, this is what I'm going to, me and my family, this is what we're going to do.
[00:18:19] And our whole ministry went to the revival.
[00:18:21] It was during Christmas.
[00:18:22] Wow.
[00:18:23] Right.
[00:18:24] I mean, like from today, the 22nd all through Christmas day, we were in church revival during Christmas.
[00:18:30] And, and it went on even up into the new year.
[00:18:33] And so God had moved and blessed.
[00:18:35] And there were many, many ministries that, that followed through and said, Hey, we're going to give it back to God.
[00:18:40] All right.
[00:18:40] You know, I was also reminded during the time of our family reunion.
[00:18:44] And this is what we talk about.
[00:18:46] And I came to come as we're given these examples.
[00:18:48] We had our family reunion during the last weekend of July years ago.
[00:18:54] And before that happened, our church was in revival and the revival broke out and ended up going over a month.
[00:19:01] And, and it was during this time we had paid for the family reunion, paid for hotels and tickets.
[00:19:06] And so I told my mother, since my mother's actually one of the mothers of our church.
[00:19:10] And I said, no, you take my, my kids, you know, you take my children with you.
[00:19:14] I said, but they were asking, you're not going.
[00:19:16] And oh man, we're going to miss you.
[00:19:18] You're going to pay.
[00:19:19] I said, listen, I have to make a choice.
[00:19:22] Do I go to a family reunion to see you all?
[00:19:26] And I love you all dearly.
[00:19:28] Trust me.
[00:19:28] I love you.
[00:19:29] But, but do I meet him because he decided to show up?
[00:19:34] Yeah.
[00:19:35] What do you do when God changes your agenda?
[00:19:39] What do you do when he, he steps on the scene?
[00:19:42] We've been asking God, show your glory, show your face.
[00:19:44] We want to see signs, wonders and miracles.
[00:19:46] But here's the thing though.
[00:19:48] Um, you want to see signs of wonders and miracles, but you want to see it on your own time and your own schedule and your own agenda.
[00:19:53] Yes, sir.
[00:19:54] But when God shows up unexpectedly, like a thief in the night, are you willing to follow through?
[00:19:59] Are you willing to submit your will?
[00:20:02] In other words, thy will be done.
[00:20:04] Thy kingdom come, thy will be done means that if I show up at midnight, will you meet me?
[00:20:11] If I show up at 7 a.m., will you meet me?
[00:20:14] If I show up in the middle of the day on your job and yet just say, hey, I need to hear your voice.
[00:20:19] Will you take a bathroom break, go in the restroom and call on my name?
[00:20:24] You know, this, this, the thing is he's, he's, he's requiring us to, to, to step outside of the box.
[00:20:29] Because I believe that we have boxed him in so much, just like that gift under the tree.
[00:20:34] Say that.
[00:20:35] That's only been going to be open on the 25th.
[00:20:38] And once it's open on the 25th, many kids after that day or a family members, it'll sit on another shelf.
[00:20:45] Some people will return it because they don't understand the value.
[00:20:47] See, a lot of times it's not the gift that they received.
[00:20:50] It's the love that was placed in getting that gift.
[00:20:52] That's right.
[00:20:54] That's right.
[00:20:54] And a lot of people return it and don't understand that there was love.
[00:20:59] Give it all.
[00:21:00] So you got me wanting to preach.
[00:21:01] You know, it was the preacher in me.
[00:21:03] Well, but, but you know what, for, for a day such as this, right.
[00:21:08] As we celebrate the birth of Christ, I mean, that, that is a reason to preach because I still believe that there are many people that just don't, don't understand the magnitude of who he is.
[00:21:22] That, that if you were to go into the Bible and, and just from the things that Jesus has said, right.
[00:21:29] He said, I am the way, the truth and the light.
[00:21:32] Right.
[00:21:32] So if you want to have some fun next time you're doing Bible study, every time you come to the word truth, use Jesus and see if that changes the way that you perceive that.
[00:21:43] I promise you it will.
[00:21:45] Okay.
[00:21:46] You shall know Jesus and Jesus shall make you free.
[00:21:51] Yeah.
[00:21:52] Okay.
[00:21:54] Just try that.
[00:21:55] And then you get to begin to understand the scope of who he is.
[00:22:00] Nothing that was made was made without him.
[00:22:03] That's right.
[00:22:05] Okay.
[00:22:05] And he was given to you free.
[00:22:08] For him and by him and through him.
[00:22:12] Yes.
[00:22:13] Yes.
[00:22:14] Yes.
[00:22:14] Yes.
[00:22:14] Like you said, given to you free.
[00:22:16] Free.
[00:22:17] Right.
[00:22:17] And, and, and I just wanted to make sure that we took some time to just make people not, I don't even think it's really about making them aware.
[00:22:28] Right.
[00:22:29] Right.
[00:22:29] As, as it is to open their eyes a little wider.
[00:22:33] Right.
[00:22:34] And so instead of seeing men as trees, we want to give you a little bit more clarity.
[00:22:39] That's right.
[00:22:39] You know, what this day was really about was, was about the, the life change that is, is you.
[00:22:49] Right.
[00:22:49] I mean, you were called to earth because there is a problem or a situation in this world that only Pastor Darrell Bruce can fix.
[00:22:57] And so he called you here for that reason.
[00:23:00] Now, in the meantime, his expectation is that if you understand who I am and you understand who my son is and you understand who the Holy Spirit is, then I need you to work until it's time for you to execute the purpose for which I called you.
[00:23:19] You know, and our work is, is simply loving others.
[00:23:25] Dad, the same level of compassion we saw Jesus demonstrate 35 times in scripture.
[00:23:34] We're supposed to do just that.
[00:23:37] And then some.
[00:23:38] And then some.
[00:23:40] Greater works shall you do with my name.
[00:23:42] That's right.
[00:23:42] You know, a lot of times when people look at that greater works and thinking about signs, wonders and miracles, what about the greater love?
[00:23:48] Yes.
[00:23:49] What about that greater compassion?
[00:23:51] What about that greater forgiveness?
[00:23:52] Yes.
[00:23:53] What about what about the fact that he forgave you of everything that you ever thought of or never did?
[00:23:59] And you won't forgive someone else.
[00:24:01] No, we ought to walk in a greater measure.
[00:24:03] That's right.
[00:24:05] And when we see the level of division that our nation is going through now is because we have forgotten that though we are many members, we're one body.
[00:24:16] One body.
[00:24:17] Yes.
[00:24:18] I think we truly have forgotten that.
[00:24:20] And that's why, you know, taking communion becomes so important because as you see on many of the Baptist churches, they have those tables that say in remembrance of me.
[00:24:31] Right.
[00:24:32] Yeah.
[00:24:33] But see, I see that word remember not as something that's cognitive as in putting all of the members back together.
[00:24:41] Do this in remembrance.
[00:24:43] Okay.
[00:24:44] Yes.
[00:24:44] We're remembering.
[00:24:46] The word remembering.
[00:24:48] Yes.
[00:24:49] That's it.
[00:24:49] And we're bringing them back together and letting them know that in the name of Jesus, we are all one.
[00:24:55] We're one.
[00:24:56] And we're all connected.
[00:24:57] And so if we do that, then there's no room for division because I am a brother's keeper.
[00:25:05] Yes.
[00:25:06] And since we're on that line again and we talk about the gift during this time and season,
[00:25:15] if we were to go back, we can go back to Isaiah 9 and 6.
[00:25:19] For unto us a child is born.
[00:25:22] Yes.
[00:25:23] Unto us a son is given.
[00:25:26] Yes, sir.
[00:25:27] And here's the scripture that we miss.
[00:25:29] And the government.
[00:25:31] Yes.
[00:25:32] Shall be upon his shoulder.
[00:25:35] And the government shall be upon his shoulder.
[00:25:38] When we put him first.
[00:25:42] The truth, as you said, when we put and we shall know Jesus and Jesus shall make us free.
[00:25:48] The truth.
[00:25:49] And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor.
[00:25:52] Yes.
[00:25:53] The counselor cannot counsel me because we're not listening to the counselor.
[00:25:57] Yes, sir.
[00:25:58] When we take him off the throne room, when we X him out without expectation, the Bible says,
[00:26:06] I couldn't do no works in magic because of their unbelief.
[00:26:10] That's right.
[00:26:11] So we want him to be Wonderful Counselor, but when we listen to the counselor, we want him
[00:26:16] to be the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.
[00:26:18] But when we're so bent on chaos and division and strife, how can he be the Prince of Peace?
[00:26:25] He is the Prince of Peace.
[00:26:27] So how can we receive it?
[00:26:29] Yes.
[00:26:29] And I think that's why it's become so important for us to do things like this, right?
[00:26:35] Because the podcast will probably reach someone who won't walk inside the edifice.
[00:26:42] But if we can get them to understand who God is, what he expects, the power and the gift
[00:26:49] that they were given to Jesus Christ, then the assembling of the saints becomes natural
[00:26:54] because you're going to want to know more.
[00:26:56] Because there's always someone who can, you know, God gives us all a little different take,
[00:27:02] right?
[00:27:02] The word of God is immutable.
[00:27:04] It does not change.
[00:27:05] But how we perceive it is how we are able to spread, right?
[00:27:11] The truth is the truth is the truth.
[00:27:13] But what I see, you know, when you say to me, thy kingdom come and what you see can be a different
[00:27:21] perspective.
[00:27:22] It doesn't mean one's right and one's wrong.
[00:27:24] It's a point of enlightenment because the word says that we are transformed by the renewing
[00:27:34] of my mind.
[00:27:35] So if I only keep the information that I already know and I don't add to it, what am I renewing?
[00:27:42] Yes.
[00:27:43] Yes.
[00:27:44] And so we have to, you know, understand that while God's kingdom is already at work in the
[00:27:51] earth, it's not fully realized.
[00:27:54] When we pray thy kingdom come, we're also anticipating the ultimate fulfillment of God's kingdom when Jesus
[00:28:02] returns.
[00:28:03] That's it.
[00:28:04] This will be the moment when sin and evil are finally defeated and God's reign is fully
[00:28:10] established in all its glory.
[00:28:12] That's it.
[00:28:13] Thank you.
[00:28:14] I want to say this.
[00:28:17] Is it possible?
[00:28:18] I know we're having a great discussion, but is it possible that I can just sing just a
[00:28:21] little piece of a song?
[00:28:22] Sure.
[00:28:23] Absolutely.
[00:28:24] Because it fits right here.
[00:28:25] You know, there's a song that says,
[00:28:53] Yes.
[00:28:55] Love lifted me.
[00:28:56] Yes.
[00:28:57] Love lifted me.
[00:29:04] Love lifted me.
[00:29:07] Love lifted me.
[00:29:11] Love lifted me.
[00:29:15] Love lifted me.
[00:29:30] me
[00:29:32] and we talked about that's the love of Jesus
[00:29:34] we talked about how
[00:29:35] he came that we might have life
[00:29:38] and have it more abundantly
[00:29:39] he came to redeem us from our sins
[00:29:42] and give us hope
[00:29:43] and give us a change and give us an
[00:29:46] opportunity to know him
[00:29:47] and to embrace that kingdom
[00:29:49] that kingdom come
[00:29:52] it's Jesus
[00:29:54] it is him
[00:29:56] and when we learn that
[00:29:57] that is through him we move into our being
[00:30:00] that everything that was created
[00:30:02] was created by him
[00:30:04] for him and through him
[00:30:05] for us
[00:30:08] you know he died for us
[00:30:10] he came for us
[00:30:12] he rose for us
[00:30:13] and stood at the right hand of the father
[00:30:15] to intercede for us
[00:30:18] yes
[00:30:19] you know
[00:30:21] there's one other thing I want to say
[00:30:22] that John talked about a number
[00:30:24] that he could not number
[00:30:26] and he asked the angel
[00:30:27] he said
[00:30:27] who are they
[00:30:28] who are this multitude
[00:30:30] and the angel said
[00:30:31] these are those
[00:30:32] who have washed their robes
[00:30:35] in the blood of the Lamb
[00:30:36] yes
[00:30:38] those are the ones
[00:30:39] that
[00:30:40] that came through you
[00:30:43] yes
[00:30:43] this is a good one
[00:30:47] listen
[00:30:48] I'm here to tell you
[00:30:49] that this is
[00:30:51] truly a blessing
[00:30:52] because
[00:30:54] we can't get caught up
[00:30:55] in
[00:30:56] in the
[00:30:58] commercialism
[00:30:58] of
[00:30:59] what December 25th
[00:31:01] truly symbolizes
[00:31:03] right
[00:31:04] you know
[00:31:05] thy kingdom come
[00:31:06] is more than a prayer
[00:31:08] it's
[00:31:09] it's a declaration
[00:31:09] of hope
[00:31:10] yes
[00:31:11] commitment to live
[00:31:12] out God's will
[00:31:13] and an anticipation
[00:31:15] of a day
[00:31:16] when his reign
[00:31:17] will be fully realized
[00:31:19] so through the birth
[00:31:20] of Christ
[00:31:21] the kingdom of God
[00:31:22] is already here
[00:31:24] working in the lives
[00:31:26] of believers
[00:31:26] and transforming the world
[00:31:28] and through our obedience
[00:31:30] love
[00:31:31] and witness
[00:31:32] we can participate
[00:31:34] in this divine work
[00:31:36] so brothers and sisters
[00:31:38] I
[00:31:38] I
[00:31:39] just want to
[00:31:40] once again
[00:31:41] thank you for spending
[00:31:42] time with us on today
[00:31:44] and
[00:31:45] we hope that you enjoy
[00:31:46] your day
[00:31:48] and
[00:31:48] celebration
[00:31:50] of the
[00:31:50] gift we were given
[00:31:52] and the gift that
[00:31:52] keeps on giving
[00:31:54] and I'll let
[00:31:55] Pastor Brooks
[00:31:56] close us out
[00:31:57] with a word of prayer
[00:31:58] no I don't mind
[00:32:00] man
[00:32:02] if I may
[00:32:03] I'm going to
[00:32:03] close it out
[00:32:04] with this prayer
[00:32:06] our Father
[00:32:07] yes
[00:32:09] who art in heaven
[00:32:11] hallowed be thy name
[00:32:12] thy kingdom come
[00:32:13] thy will be done
[00:32:15] on earth
[00:32:15] and cities in heaven
[00:32:16] give us this day
[00:32:17] our daily bread
[00:32:18] and forgive us
[00:32:18] our trespasses
[00:32:19] as we forgive those
[00:32:21] who trespass against us
[00:32:22] and leave us not
[00:32:23] into temptation
[00:32:24] but deliver us
[00:32:25] from all evil
[00:32:26] for thine is the kingdom
[00:32:27] and the power
[00:32:28] and the glory
[00:32:29] forever
[00:32:30] amen
[00:32:31] Father we thank you
[00:32:32] today
[00:32:32] yes
[00:32:33] for this broadcast
[00:32:34] we thank you
[00:32:35] for those who
[00:32:37] would listen
[00:32:37] we pray that
[00:32:38] these words
[00:32:39] will not fall
[00:32:40] on deaf ears
[00:32:41] we pray that
[00:32:42] these words
[00:32:43] will find the heart
[00:32:44] that has been
[00:32:44] troubled
[00:32:45] and need a word
[00:32:46] from you
[00:32:46] we pray that
[00:32:48] this podcast
[00:32:49] would reach
[00:32:49] someone who's
[00:32:50] who's hurting
[00:32:51] and longing
[00:32:52] for direction
[00:32:53] and healing
[00:32:54] we pray that
[00:32:55] something was said
[00:32:56] that would
[00:32:58] touch their
[00:32:58] hearts
[00:32:58] and cause
[00:32:59] them to
[00:32:59] fall in love
[00:33:00] with you
[00:33:00] again
[00:33:01] to receive
[00:33:02] you as a
[00:33:03] gift
[00:33:03] that keeps
[00:33:04] on giving
[00:33:05] to receive
[00:33:06] your love
[00:33:06] and to receive
[00:33:07] your kingdom
[00:33:08] and be open
[00:33:09] to hear
[00:33:10] your voice
[00:33:11] your voice
[00:33:13] that says
[00:33:13] come home
[00:33:14] your voice
[00:33:15] that says
[00:33:15] I'm here
[00:33:16] your voice
[00:33:17] that says
[00:33:17] I've never
[00:33:18] let you know
[00:33:18] will I ever
[00:33:19] leave you
[00:33:20] nor forsake you
[00:33:21] God we pray
[00:33:22] that even
[00:33:22] during this
[00:33:23] time
[00:33:23] that we
[00:33:24] don't forget
[00:33:24] those who
[00:33:25] are less
[00:33:25] fortunate
[00:33:26] than we
[00:33:26] are
[00:33:27] that you
[00:33:27] would bless
[00:33:28] them and
[00:33:28] strengthen
[00:33:29] them
[00:33:29] those who
[00:33:29] are hurting
[00:33:30] those who
[00:33:30] are longing
[00:33:31] and those
[00:33:32] who are lost
[00:33:33] give them
[00:33:34] hope
[00:33:34] in the midst
[00:33:35] of a hopeless
[00:33:36] situation
[00:33:36] bring them
[00:33:38] out of
[00:33:38] darkness
[00:33:39] to embrace
[00:33:40] your glorious
[00:33:41] light
[00:33:41] we thank you
[00:33:42] we bless
[00:33:44] you
[00:33:44] we praise
[00:33:44] you
[00:33:45] and we give
[00:33:46] you all
[00:33:46] praise
[00:33:46] glory
[00:33:47] and honor
[00:33:47] in Jesus
[00:33:48] most holy
[00:33:49] and righteous
