[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Spirit to another edition of Words of Inspiration, where we explore how God's Word provides direction
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and insight for all areas of our lives.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And today we're talking about what it means to be a Micah 6 Leader.
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Our inspiration comes from Micah 6, verse 8 and reading from the New International Version
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: it reads,
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And what does the Lord require of you?
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_01]: To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether you lead a business, an organization, or your own household, the qualities outlined
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: in this verse are foundational to fulfilling your purpose.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: The first principle of a Micah 6 Leader is to act justly.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: This means making decisions based on fairness, integrity and righteousness.
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Acting justly isn't just about following the rules.
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It's about aligning with God's moral standards and treating others with equity and respect.
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_01]: As leaders, we're often faced with situations where we have to choose between what's easy
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: and what's right.
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Micah 6 and 8 cause on us to prioritize justice even when it's difficult.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: In your workplace or your home, acting justly may mean holding others accountable, making
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: hard decisions with fairness and ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs 21 verse 3, reading from the NIV tells us,
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_01]: To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: God values justice because it reflects His character.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: When we act justly, we create an environment where trust can flourish and people can thrive.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: The second principle is to love mercy.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Mercy is about showing compassion, forgiveness and kindness even when it's not deserved.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: For leaders, this means being patient with others, offering grace in different situations.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And remembering that people are more important than policies.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Loving mercy is not a passive act, it's a deliberate choice to extend kindness where it's needed most.
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: This could mean giving someone a second chance, offering support during tough times
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: or simply being a listening ear.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: As leaders, we set the tone for how mercy is shown in our homes, businesses and communities.
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: James 2 verse 13, reading from the NIV reminds us,
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Mercy trumps over judgment.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: As leaders, we need to remember that while justice is important, it must always be balanced with mercy.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_01]: A leader who loves mercy fosters an atmosphere of compassion, understanding and grace.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Finally, a Micah 6 leader is someone who walks humbly with God.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Humility is about recognizing that we are not the ultimate authority, God is.
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: It's understanding that we are dependent on Him for wisdom, guidance and strength.
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Walking humbly means leading from a place of service, not pride.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're leading a team or a family, humility allows you to put others first
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_01]: and seek God's direction in all things.
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Philippians 2 verse 3 says,
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, rather in humility value others above yourself.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: A humble leader doesn't seek recognition or personal glory.
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead, they lead with a servant's heart, always seeking to honor God in their actions.
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: When we walk humbly, we invite God's presence into our leadership and open the door for His wisdom to guide us.
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Being a Micah 6 leader is not about having all the answers or being perfect.
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It's about aligning your leadership with God's values and trusting Him to guide you as you lead others
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_01]: with integrity, compassion and humility.
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I thank you for spending time with me on today
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.
