[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily

[00:00:44] podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the word

[00:00:50] of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives. You may contact Elgin at the address

[00:00:57] given at the end of the broadcast. And now here's Elgin.

[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

[00:01:08] to another episode of Words of Inspiration. And I'm thrilled to introduce our new series titled

[00:01:16] The Christian Entrepreneur. Over the next few episodes, we'll explore how Christians can

[00:01:24] navigate the business world with integrity, purpose, and faith. Creating companies with

[00:01:31] products and services that glorify God and serve people. Our spiritual inspiration for this

[00:01:38] series comes from Genesis chapter 1 verses 1 through 31, the creation story. It's here we see that

[00:01:47] God as the ultimate creator, bringing everything into existence with purpose, order, and beauty. And what's more,

[00:01:57] the Bible says, Genesis 1 and 27, reading from the New International Version, reminds us that,

[00:02:04] so God created mankind in his own image. In the image of God, he created them. Male and female,

[00:02:13] he created them. This foundational truth that we are created in God's image means that we too are creators.

[00:02:22] As Christian entrepreneurs, we're called to reflect God's character in the marketplace by using our

[00:02:30] spiritual gifts to build, innovate, and serve in ways that align with his principles. So let's dive into

[00:02:38] what that looks like. The first chapter of Genesis shows us that God is a creator. From light and land to

[00:02:48] plants, animals, and humanity, God brought everything into existence with precision and care.

[00:02:56] As his image bearers, we inherit this creative nature. Whether it's crafting a product, providing a service,

[00:03:04] or solving a problem, we're reflecting God's character every time we create something that serves others.

[00:03:12] Ephesians 2 and 10 reinforces this idea. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,

[00:03:22] which God prepared in advance for us to do. Our creativity isn't just for our own benefit.

[00:03:30] It's part of God's larger plan. As entrepreneurs, we're not just running businesses.

[00:03:36] We're partnering with God to bring his vision to life through the works of our hands. The marketplace is

[00:03:45] often seen as a battleground for competition, profit, and success. But as Christian entrepreneurs,

[00:03:52] we're called to operate differently. Our businesses should reflect the same integrity,

[00:03:58] fairness, and love that God demonstrates in his dealings with us. Proverbs 11 and 1 reminds us,

[00:04:06] The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.

[00:04:14] This verse speaks to the importance of honesty and fairness in our transactions.

[00:04:19] Whether we're setting prices, managing employees, or engaging with customers, every aspect of our

[00:04:26] business should honor God. When we prioritize righteousness over profit, we not only earn the trust

[00:04:34] of others, but also reflect God's character in the marketplace. One of the most important aspects

[00:04:41] of being a Christian entrepreneur is understanding that our work is not just about making money.

[00:04:47] It's about serving people. Jesus himself said in Matthew 20, 28,

[00:04:53] The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

[00:05:04] This servant-hearted approach should guide how we run our business. Are we creating products and services

[00:05:11] that truly meet people's need? Are we treating employees and customers with respect and kindness?

[00:05:18] When we serve others with excellence, we reflect Christ's love and bring glory to God.

[00:05:26] God has equipped each of us with unique spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities.

[00:05:33] As Christian entrepreneurs, we're called to use these gifts not just in church, but also in the marketplace.

[00:05:40] Whether it's leadership, creativity, administration, or hospitality, your gifts have a place in your business.

[00:05:50] In fact, Romans 12, verses 6-8 encourages us,

[00:05:55] We have different gifts according to the grace given to each of us.

[00:05:59] If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith.

[00:06:04] If it is serving, then serve. If it is teaching, then teach.

[00:06:11] Ask yourself, how can I use my God-given talents to bring value to others through my business?

[00:06:18] How can my work point people to Christ?

[00:06:24] Ultimately, the goal of every Christian entrepreneur should be to glorify God.

[00:06:29] This doesn't mean slapping a Bible verse on your product or service.

[00:06:32] It means running your business in a way that reflects God's values, character, and love.

[00:06:40] When people interact with your business, they should see something different.

[00:06:44] A commitment to excellence, integrity, and care that points them to Christ.

[00:06:51] Colossians 3, verses 23-24 says,

[00:07:12] This perspective transforms the way we view our work.

[00:07:16] It's not just about profits or success.

[00:07:20] It's about faithfully serving God and others through our businesses.

[00:07:25] Brothers and sisters, as we embark on this series, The Christian Entrepreneur,

[00:07:30] I want to challenge you to think about how your business can reflect God's image.

[00:07:35] Remember that you are a creator made in the image of the ultimate creator.

[00:07:41] Use your gifts, talents, and opportunities to build something that glorifies God

[00:07:47] and serves people with integrity, fairness, and love.
