[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host, Elgin Carelock.

[00:00:42] The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ,

[00:00:49] rightly dividing the word of truth, and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast.

[00:00:59] And now, here's Elgin.

[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you.

[00:01:04] Whoever you are, wherever you are, and whenever you're listening,

[00:01:09] to another edition of Words of Inspiration,

[00:01:13] where we explore the truths and promises of God's word,

[00:01:17] and how they shape our lives.

[00:01:21] And today's episode is titled, Surely.

[00:01:26] Our inspiration comes from Isaiah 55, verses 10 through 11,

[00:01:33] and reading from the New Living Translation.

[00:01:37] It reads,

[00:01:39] The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth.

[00:01:45] They cause the ground to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.

[00:01:51] It is the same with my word.

[00:01:54] I send it out, and it always produces fruit.

[00:01:58] It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

[00:02:06] I wanted to discuss why we should focus on the certainty of God's promises and not our circumstances.

[00:02:14] As we move through life, it's easy to get caught up in how we'll survive or how we'll manage.

[00:02:21] But the Bible reminds us to focus not on survival, but on pleasing God.

[00:02:27] When we can lean on the fact that God cannot lie, and all of his promises will surely manifest,

[00:02:34] we live according to his will and purpose.

[00:02:38] In Isaiah 55, verses 10 to 11, God uses the imagery of rain and snow to illustrate how his word works in our lives.

[00:02:50] Just as rain and snow come down from heaven and produce growth in the earth,

[00:02:55] so does God's word accomplish its purpose.

[00:02:58] The word surely in this context represents the absolute certainty that God's promises will come to pass.

[00:03:08] God's word does not return empty or void.

[00:03:12] It always produces results, and it always fulfills the purpose for which it was sent.

[00:03:19] This means that every promise of God is guaranteed.

[00:03:23] The promises he made for provision, protection, healing, and guidance will surely come to pass.

[00:03:33] Numbers 23 and 19, reading from the New Living Translation, reminds us,

[00:03:39] God is not a man, so he does not lie.

[00:03:43] He is not a human, so he does not change his mind.

[00:03:47] Has he ever spoken and failed to act?

[00:03:50] Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

[00:03:54] If God says something, it will happen.

[00:03:58] There is no uncertainty or hesitation in his word.

[00:04:02] So when he promises to provide for us, to care for us, and to bless us,

[00:04:08] we can trust that he will fulfill those promises in his perfect timing.

[00:04:15] In the busyness of life, we often focus on how we'll get through the day,

[00:04:20] how we'll meet our needs, or how we'll achieve our goals.

[00:04:24] But as believers, our primary focus should not be on mere survival,

[00:04:30] but on living the life that pleases God.

[00:04:34] When we live according to his will and purpose, everything else falls into place.

[00:04:41] Matthew 6 and 33 says,

[00:04:45] Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,

[00:04:49] and he will give you everything you need.

[00:04:52] This verse is a powerful reminder that when we focus on pleasing God,

[00:04:57] on seeking his kingdom, and living in alignment with his will,

[00:05:02] he takes care of our needs.

[00:05:04] We don't have to worry about how we'll survive,

[00:05:08] because God has already promised to provide.

[00:05:11] And we know that his word is sure.

[00:05:15] Just as the rain waters the earth and produces fruit,

[00:05:19] God's word will accomplish its purpose in our lives.

[00:05:23] The key is to trust that God knows what we need,

[00:05:27] and that he is faithful to provide.

[00:05:30] Our job is not to figure out how everything will work out,

[00:05:34] but to remain faithful to his word,

[00:05:37] living in a way that reflects his love, obedience, and purpose.

[00:05:42] One of the most reassuring truths about God is that he cannot lie.

[00:05:48] His very nature is truth,

[00:05:50] and everything he speaks is bound to happen.

[00:05:53] Isaiah 55 and 11 reinforces that his word will never fail,

[00:05:58] and it always produces fruit.

[00:06:01] This means that every promise in scripture is not just a possibility,

[00:06:06] but a certainty.

[00:06:07] God has promised to be with us,

[00:06:11] to never leave us,

[00:06:12] to give us peace,

[00:06:14] and to guide us through every trial.

[00:06:16] And he will keep those promises because he cannot do otherwise.

[00:06:20] His faithfulness is woven into the fabric of who he is.

[00:06:26] Titus 1 and 2,

[00:06:28] reading from the New Living Translation,

[00:06:30] says,

[00:06:42] God's promises were made with eternity in mind.

[00:06:46] Before the world began,

[00:06:48] he knew the plans he had for us.

[00:06:50] He knew the challenges we would face

[00:06:52] and the needs we would have,

[00:06:54] and he made provision for those things

[00:06:56] long before we even realized we needed them.

[00:06:59] So when God says he will bless,

[00:07:02] protect,

[00:07:02] and provide,

[00:07:04] he's already set those things in motion.

[00:07:06] We just have to walk in faith,

[00:07:09] knowing that they will surely come to pass.

[00:07:12] For God's promise to manifest in our lives,

[00:07:17] we must live in alignment with his will

[00:07:19] and purpose.

[00:07:21] This means being obedient to his word,

[00:07:25] trusting his plan,

[00:07:26] and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us.

[00:07:29] It's about surrendering our desires,

[00:07:32] fears,

[00:07:32] and anxieties to God,

[00:07:34] knowing that he has everything under control.

[00:07:38] Proverbs 3,

[00:07:39] verses 5 through 6,

[00:07:42] again reading from the New Living Translation,

[00:07:44] says,

[00:07:58] When we live in this way,

[00:08:00] seeking God's will above our own

[00:08:02] and trusting him to lead us,

[00:08:04] we can rest in the assurance

[00:08:06] that his promise will manifest in our lives.

[00:08:09] We don't have to stress about how,

[00:08:12] or even when,

[00:08:14] because God already ordained the outcome.

[00:08:16] Our focus should be on following his lead

[00:08:19] and living a life that's pleasing to him.

[00:08:22] Remember this,

[00:08:25] God's word is sure,

[00:08:27] his promises are certain,

[00:08:29] and they will always produce the results he desires.

[00:08:33] Isaiah 55,

[00:08:35] verses 10 to 11,

[00:08:37] reminds us that,

[00:08:38] just as the rain waters the earth

[00:08:40] and brings forth life,

[00:08:41] so does God's word accomplish its purpose.

[00:08:45] We are called to live a life that pleases God,

[00:08:48] focusing on his kingdom

[00:08:50] and trusting his provision.

[00:08:52] As we align our lives with his will

[00:08:55] and walk in obedience,

[00:08:57] we can be confident

[00:08:58] that his promises will surely come to pass.

[00:09:03] So today,

[00:09:04] let's lean on the fact that God cannot lie.

[00:09:07] His word is true,

[00:09:09] and everything he has spoken over your life

[00:09:13] will surely happen

[00:09:14] if you live according to his purpose.

[00:09:18] I thank you for spending time with me on today.

[00:09:22] I hope you have a wonderful weekend,

[00:09:24] and I look forward to our conversation on Sunday.

[00:09:28] Until then,

[00:09:29] God bless.
